Fire Emblem Engage: Panette & Sommie Tidbits via Twitter

Today’s daily Fire Emblem Engage content includes Panette’s profile, plus a profile for Sommie, among other things.

Here’s Panette:

Panette (VA: Yukina Shutō) is a royal knight of Solm. Although she’s polite and graceful, she used to be a lot more wild, and remants of her wild behaviour can be seen when she fights.

A battle scene:

Panette is at a Solmese map during night, with fog of war active, previously seen in Ike’s overview.

Panette is a Level 1 Berserker with a Silver Axe, Hand Axe and Vulnerary. Joining her are Timerra, her liege, and Merrin, her retainer-in-arms.

Her foe is a Ruffian. During battle, Merrin’s Knightly Escort triggers for her and Timerra’s Racket of Solm triggers for the enemy.

A conversation between Panette and Timerra:

Timerra: Ah, that was fun! It’s been a while since we had a good run around!

Panette: Indeed, Princess. It feels great riding on the back of a wolf, right?

Timerra: Back then, we used to dash around on our wolves in the middle of the night, just like this.

Panette: It’s a shame, but we are in the middle of a war now.

Timerra: Heehee, but y’know, you’re a lot softer now, Panette.

Panette: Wh-what are you blabbering about all of a sudden?

Timerra: I remember when I first met you…

Timerra: You tied a local brigand to a tree and were using them as bait for wolves.

Panette: Th-that was merely a threat! I wasn’t actually going to let the wolves eat them!

Timerra: And the way you used to talk…

Timerra: You’ve got some nerve! Get out here, you dastards! Y’know, stuff like that.

Panette: N-no, please stop! Don’t bring back memories of me in the past!

Also, some info about Paralogues:

We have another glimpse of the world map. As I guessed, this particular spot is where the ruins map occurs.

In particular, its where Paralogue: Mysterious Merchant occurs. Above is a screenshot from Nintendo UK. You can see more of this Paralogue at the bottom of Corrin’s overview as well.

I wasn’t thinking about it at the time, but this is probably where you recruit Anna. The name of the Paralogue is a dead giveaway, plus there’s a reference to a “small” visitor in the description.

As it happens, Nintendo of America shared a tweet with Anna’s dialogue from the English version. The backdrop matches with the ruins.

Say “hi” to Sommie:

The Somniel is home to a mysterious creature called “Sommie”, who’s lived there since ancient times.

A video featuring Sommie:

Alear: What on Elyos is this creature…

Vander: Oh, so you found it, Divine One.

Alear: Vander, do you know who this little furball is?

Vander: Shortly before you awakened, it began to show up from time to time.

Vander: I asked Lady Lumera about it; apparently it’s the Somniel’s guardian deity or something like that…

Vander: It has resided here since ancient times, and even played with Lady Lumera when she was young.

Alear: When my mother was young…!? It’s been alive for that long?

Unrelated, but Nintendo HK uploaded their version of the “My First Fire Emblem” trailer, which we covered here. The content is exactly the same, although some of the footage is slightly different.

The most notable difference is when they show Céline choosing a sword.

In the Hong Kong trailer (left), Céline is in her promoted Fleurage class, with Sword B, Tome A and Staff B. In the Japanese trailer (right), she’s in her Noble class with Sword B, Tome B and Staff A.

It’s a bit odd why Céline has a lower Staff rank in her promoted class. The only explanation I can think of is Micaiah enabling Staff A for all classes, when synced.

In the debut trailer, Clanne can wield staves despite being in his default Mage class. Similarly, in a Nintendo UK screenshot, Yunaka can use staves despite being a Thief. Both characters have Micaiah equipped, but aren’t Engaged.

Assuming Micaiah grants Staff A, this would mean Céline only has Sword B, Tome B as a Noble, which matches her here. Thus she gains a Tome rank and Staff B from promoting.

MINOR SPOILERS

Also, unrelated, Nintendo Korea updated their FE Engage official site. It now has everything prior to the Expansion Pass/Somniel updates. Some fans, including Kass082 on Reddit noticed something peculiar about Mauvier’s screenshot.

Yeah, we know from the leaked screenshots and official screenshots that Mauvier is playable. This is unrelated to that.

Instead, his line suggests that Veyle, the mysterious girl, is connected to the Four Hounds or Gradlon. He refers to Veyle as “Lady Veyle”, suggesting she holds a high rank among their circle.

The screenshot has since been replaced with a version missing the subtitles. Making it extra suspicious…

Actually, there have been a few clues that Veyle isn’t who she seems. The robed magic user who attacks Alear at the Divine Dragon’s Castle and causes Lumera’s death could be Veyle, because they’re both magic users and have a similar build.

On top of that, a sticker sheet given out with pre-orders at Gamemania, discovered by Dakress23 on Reddit implies that Veyle is related to Gradlon.

Left is the original image. Right is where I’ve coloured the characters to show which country they’re from or might be from.

Yunaka is a wildcard at the moment, but could be from Brodia, if she’s named after unakite, a type of rock. Anna, we know is from Elusia. So Veyle being among the residents of Gradlon seems awfully suspicious.

If I had to guess, maybe Veyle is Sombron’s daughter, which would make her the counterpart to Alear.
