Quick links: Fabio | Bonaventure | Buccar | Peter | Esmeralda | Tobias
26th July: Sirocco
English VA: Daman Mills
An enigmatic bard adept with swords, magic, and a variety of weapons.
Likes: The Goddess Kalla, all women, reciting poetry
Interests: Reading, drawing portraits
Credits to tipperthescales for the video.
Note: Please see Sirocco’s Twitter post for more info.
Sirocco’s favourite Goddess is called Kalla. They were smart not to name her Karla. Although I forgot the Karla from Blazing Blade is spelled Kaala in Japanese, whereas the Goddess’s name is spelled Kāla.
Sadly not much new in the gameplay footage. They skipped the part where Sirocco used the Mist Ripper combat art, but since it’s spelled in katakana, I imagine it’d stay the same.
Sirocco’s foe is one of Lechner’s Soldiers. Didn’t expect any different. As a reminder, Lechner is the guy that Leda seems to harbour revenge against.
This appeared in the Twitter post as well, but in the battle background, there’s some kind of house or caravan that’s surrounded by sinister flames. No idea what that’s about, but it looks very ominous.
25th July: Tobias
English VA: Kamran Nikhad
The Lionheart of Saramis, as strong as he is tough. His well-honed skills can wreak havoc in battle.
Likes: Singing, interacting with others
Interests: Hunting, solitary camping

Note: Please refer to Tobias’s Twitter post for more info.
Interestingly, they revealed Tobias’s nickname, which is Lionheart. This nickname is shared with Eldigan from Genealogy of the Holy War.
Not much new here. Smash Axe is officially Smashing Axe.
Sadly, the monsters on the map are all gone (along with the rain). So no idea what the dragon-like enemies are called in English.
Tobias now has 2 skills instead of 5. Meanwhile his opponent also has 2 skills. Both of them have Axefaire(?).
Afterwards, Tobias gains 28 exp and some proficiency exp for Axe and Armor.
24th July: Esmeralda
English VA: Kendell Byrd
A strong young woman who can stand up to any foe.
However heavy the armor, she wears it lightly.
Likes: Handsome men, throwing her trident, maintaining fishing gear
Interests: Fishing, carving wooden dolls
Credits to tipperthescales for the video.
Note: Please refer to Esmeralda’s Twitter post for more info.
Here’s our best look at the bow-wielding guy with red face markings. He also appeared in Leda’s showcase, although I’m unsure if he was a blue or green unit. He was near Leda’s allies though and away from Dietrich and Theodora.
Esmeralda’s signature lance is officially Sinza’s Trident and her father is officially called Sinza. Meanwhile the exclusive combat art is Brute Throw.
In her Twitter post, Esmeralda is fighting a Brigand. Here she’s fighting a Hunter. Also, none of the enemies have a yellow loot icon. Besides that, Esmeralda has 2 skills instead of 5. One is presumably her personal skill that lets her wield heavy weapons more easily and the other is, of course, the Crest of Blaiddyd.
Afterwards, Esmeralda gains 30 exp rather than 16 exp.
23rd July: Peter
English VA: Michael Johnston
A crack shot with a bow, he can use combat arts to hit distant foes.
Likes: His mother’s home cooking, ginji fruits
Interests: Eating, watching clouds
Credits to tipperthescales for the video.
Note: Please refer to Peter’s Twitter post for more info.
This should be the best look at the brawler in Cai’s group until their profile comes out.
When Peter moves past Ultand, a heart icon minus prompt appears. This was in the Twitter post too, but I didn’t notice at the time. The same icon appeared when Peter was next to Ultand during the street fight. Some kind of support effect, perhaps?

The new combat is officially Vital Shot, while the new beast-slaying bow is officially Hunter’s Bow.
During the combat forecast, there’s a few differences compared to the Twitter post. Peter’s foe is now a Hunter instead of an Armored Ornius Rider. Also Peter has two skills instead of four. He still has a Dexterity(?) +5 skill and presumably his personal skill, Sharpshooter, which extends the range of combat arts. But he’s lost Bow Prowess and something else.
Afterwards, he gains 14 exp and proficiency exp for Bow and Infantry. Unlike the Twitter post, he doesn’t have a shield.
22nd July: Buccar
English VA: Chris Okawa
A veteran guardian compared to a demon bear because he’s so impervious to enemy attacks.
Likes: Loyalty, training, dreaming about Leda’s happiness
Interests: Cooking, mentoring young people
Credits to tipperthescales for the video.
Note: Please refer to Buccar’s Twitter post for more information.

Not too much new here, besides confirmation of Buccar’s English name. His axe is a Shielding Axe and his foe, a Palma Rain Member in the Japanese version, is simply Palma Fighter. Besides that, he triggers Guardian’s Duty.
Unfortunately, the main thing I wanted to check–the units along the bottom of the map (especially the bow user)–are not visible in this footage.
21st July: Bonaventure
English VA: Dave Fennoy
The Mastermind of Saramis, wielder of blades and magic.
An expert on Saraminian history and folklore.
Likes: Knowledge, dialogue with sages, learning about other countries
Interests: Cooking, reciting poetry
Credits to tipperthescales for the video.
For more info, please refer to Bonaventure’s Twitter post.
At the very beginning, there’s a minus button prompt near the bottom-left corner with a conversation icon. During the basic gameplay showcase, there was a similar prompt but with a heart icon. Are these related to the support system?
Bonaventure’s foe is officially Bahr Vahn’s Soldier. I figured it wouldn’t be Burn Burn. Also, it suggests that Bahr Vahn is a person. Also, the enemy is a Skellion. In the Japanese version, it’s Skeleton, which was historically translated as Bonewalker.
Near the top, we get a better look at the boss with a portrait.
DunningSmith noticed that this man could be the masked man that Theodora was fighting in the June trailer. Notice the white marking on the chin. Also, it’s hard to tell, but the portrait seems to show the big golden earring as well.
This masked map appears on a map with (Forgotten) Alcor Soldiers. On the current map, the unmasked man has a purple aura and he’s surrounded by undead soldiers. So is that after he’s been killed and reanimated?
Perhaps this man is Bahr Vahn?
Lastly, the enemies’ protection skill is officially Underworld Boon. That makes perfect sense. The June trailer introduced the Underworld at the end and they often use the word “Boon” in place of protection/blessing.
20th July: Fabio
English VA: Jimmie Yamaguchi
An enigmatic missionary skilled in dark magic. His special techniques break the enemy’s will to fight.
Likes: Suffering, half-forgotten feelings, dissecting beautiful things
Interests: Drawing, conversing with thoughtful people.
Credits to tipperthescales for the video.
Note: Please refer to Fabio’s Twitter post for more information.
Orange haired axe lady is officially Mikaela (I previously called her Michaela).
Her class is officially Gladiator. This seems to be a new Beginner-tier class (Mikaela is Level 9), possibly replacing Myrmidon. Although the Myrmidon class still exists (seen here and here). Perhaps Myrmidon is now a higher tier. Or Gladiator replaces Fighter instead? But the pixel sprite shows a sword, indicating its the “main” weapon.
Another possibility is that Gladiator is an Intermediate-tier, despite Mikaela being Level 9. That was my original guess, when Mikaela was Level 10 in the Twitter post. In the FE Engage pre-release footage, there were clear signs that some characters had their class modified to hide certain information. Maybe I’m overthinking things though…
In any case, we know that Gladiators can wield Axe in addition to Sword, as Mikaela shows.

When Fabio is choosing an attack, he has an unusable Wooden Bow for some reason, which he didn’t in the Twitter post (pictured right). We knew from the Japanese June trailer what weapons Diviner can use and Bow is not one of them. Sword, Axe and Gauntlet are.
Fabio’s foe is a Guardian Soldier and their class is officially Light Cavalry. This is the cavalry class that Cai was in from the same Japanese screenshot. Previously I called it Cavalier with a question mark after it. Its name is literally Light Cavalry though, but didn’t think they’d use that, haha. Considering “Heavy-armoured foot soldier” simply ended up becoming Armored Knight.
