Fire Emblem Engage Interview with CGWORLD

CGWORLD, a Japanese magazine that covers 3D digital content, has shared an interview with the Fire Emblem Engage development team on their website: interview link.

This interview was previously available via their printed magazine last month.

Note: The interview is in Japanese, but you can view a machine translated version using the language selector near the top of the page. It’s not perfect (for example, Emblems are referred to as “heralds”), but it gets the point across.

In the interview, the team discusses how they crafted the game’s visual identity, based on Mika Pikazo’s striking artwork. There are many fun development pictures, which we rarely get to see. Below is a small selection of them.

Fire Emblem Engage Original Soundtrack Releasing 20th March 2024

Similar to previous games, a soundtrack for Fire Emblem Engage will be released on 20th March 2024, 14 months after the game launched.

It contains all of the main game and DLC’s music across 7 disks, plus a bonus disk with extended versions of tracks (looped twice) and all of the wake up conversations.

Also, the soundtrack features a new illustration by Mika Pikazo, the game’s artist, shown above.

Pre-orders for the soundtrack are available at Intelligent System’s web store. You may also find it at the usual import stores like AmiAmi and CDJapan.

Standard Edition

Retailing for 8,250 Yen (tax included), the standard edition includes:

  • 7 CDs containing all of the music from the main game and DLC, plus the opening and ending themes.
  • 1 data DVD containing sound effects, all wake up conversations and a selection of twice-looped songs.
  • Digistack case with a new illustration by Mika Pikazo.
  • Clear three-sided case.
  • Full colour 20-page booklet.

Fire Emblem Engage: Volume 1 of the Manga Adaptation Releasing 4th September 2023

The currently on-going Fire Emblem Engage manga, available via Saikyō Jump and Shōnen Jump+, will be releasing in standalone book format from 4th September 2023.

Above is the cover of Volume 1, illustrated by Kyou Kazuro and shared by Saikyō Jump.

The first volume includes 192 pages. At the time of writing, the manga has 6 chapters (and a prologue), which you can read here.

The manga is only available in Japanese, although you can find fan translations online.
