Wow, finally a new Fire Emblem game. So I’ll be going through the announcement trailer, which you can watch here in English or here in Japanese.
Note: This article may be updated every now and then.
Basic Information
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is a Nintendo Switch 2 title releasing in 2026.
The story centres on the Heroic Games, a large-scale arena tournament where skilled warriors gather to test their abilities and beliefs.
The man pictured above is the “Divine Sovereign” who opens the games. He promises to grant the winner(s) of the games whatever wish they desire. Given his pointy ears and greenish hair, he could be a Nabatean or some kind of dragonkind.
Although it’s simply called the Heroic Games in the English trailer, the Japanese trailer calls it the Dagsion Heroic Games, where Dagsion could be the name of a country or perhaps even the continent.
In addition, the game’s Japanese title is 万紫千紅, which literally translates to “ten thousand purples and a thousand reds”, but means more along the lines of “myriad colours”. The exact numbers aren’t important, it just means a lot of purples and a lot of reds, aka a lot of colours.
This is similar to Three Houses, which is 風花雪月, literally “wind, flower, snow, moon”, but means more along the lines of “Four Seasons”. The English title is also quite interesting. “Fortune” could refer to the luck required for the games, but could be a play on “Four”, like the four contestants shown in the trailer.
Wait a second, it could go beyond that. Four Tunes Weave. As in four songs/stories intertwining.
