When certain pairs of characters fight together or interact with each other, they can earn support points, used to view support conversations and improve the support relationship between them.
How to earn Support Points

*1 This also applies to “no” support level. You effectively require 1 less support point to advance to the next level, compared to what’s listed. Eg. if a pair is listed as requiring 5/15/25 points, you only need to earn 4/14/24 points.

Also, support points per map are rounded to +3 for the two pairs that gained the most support points, +2 for the three pairs with the most support points after that, then +1 for all other pairs that gained support points (tested up to the 11th pair). In the case of a tie, the game may randomly decide between them (haven’t tested thoroughly).
Eg. if the highest pair earned +5 support points, it would be rounded down to +3. Conversely, if the highest pair earned +1 support point, it would be rounded up to +3.
*3 Normally, characters only comment about the dish individually. However, on rare occasions, they may share a conversation with each other. Or comment about the high quality ingredients used. When either situation happens, it overrides the support points from both characters’ likes/dislikes (so you only get the +1).
Shared conversations only occur for dishes of rank A or higher and they seem to occur randomly. You can force a shared conversation (assuming a rank A or higher dish) by using a Rare Veg/Fruit/Fish so long as both characters do not dislike the dish.
Likewise, characters only seem to comment about the ingredients for dishes of rank A or higher and randomly. Presumably it only happens if you use extra ingredients.
The Rare Veg/Fruit/Fish bonus always stacks. So it’s possible to obtain +3 support points with one dish.
Support Level Bonuses
Support levels start at C rank and go up to B rank and finally A rank.
Alear (the protagonist) is the exception; he/she can reach S rank with one character by gifting the Pact Ring to an A rank support partner
Each pair requires a different amount of support points to improve their support level. Please refer to the support list page for the requirements.
When a character fights while adjacent to their support partner(s), they will gain a stat boost depending on who their partner(s) is and their support level. The stat boost will stack for multiple partners (maximum of 4).
