Somniel

The Somniel is a floating fortress that you can access between battles. Here, you can make preparations for the next fight, interact with allies or just muck about.

The Plaza

This is the entrance of the Somniel.

Here, you can find a wide range of shops.

Armory and Item Shop

Like in previous FE games, you can buy weapons from the Armory and useful items from the Item Shop. Certain weapons/items have limited stock.

Smithy

At the Smithy, you can forge weapons to improve their stats or evolve them into different weapons. You can also engrave weapons with Emblems to greatly enhance them.

Boutique

The Boutique offers various outfits and accessories for characters to wear while at the Somniel.

Café Terrace

Located north from the Plaza, Café Terrace is a communal space for allies to hang out and enjoy food. Similar to Three Houses, you can order food and share it with two allies, to receive stat boosts for the next battle and maybe a Bento if you’re lucky.

There’s also a Jukebox where you can change the music that plays at the Somniel.

Furthermore, in the other corner is a Bulletin Board where you can engage in further Somniel activites.

Donations lets you invest money in countries, increasing the chance of encountering rare monsters in skirmishes, boosting the amount of resources found during battleground exploration, among other things.

Somniel Map shows you where all the Somniel facilities and your allies are found, while allowing you to fast-travel to locations. You can also access Somniel Info from the main menu too.

Achievements lets you redeem Bond Fragments for performing various in-game tasks.

Arena

Here, you can attempt two kinds of challenges.

Standard: Battle a randomly selected ally. You get three attempts. By winning, you can earn experience points.

Emblem: Exchange Bond Fragments to battle a chosen Emblem. By winning, you can increase their Bond Level.

Ring Chamber

At the Ring Chamber, you can manage and upgrade your Emblem and Bond Rings.

Inherit Skills lets you spend SP to inherit skills from Emblems. You must be at Bond Level 5 with an Emblem to inherit their skills. SP can be earned by fighting alongside Emblems.

Create Bond Rings lets you obtain randomly selected Bond Rings by spending Bond Fragments.

Bond Rings are minor Emblem Rings that soley exist to confer stat boosts and, at higher ranks, unique effects. Each Emblem seems to have 10 unique Bond Rings assigned to them, each with 4 ranks (C, B, A and S).

Meld Bond Rings lets you combine multiple Bond Rings to increase their rank. Useful if you’re unlucky.

Polish Rings lets you clean a dirty Emblem Ring using a handkerchief. It’s a bit silly, but hey, it’s better than letting the FE Fates face rubbing engine go to waste.

Tower of Trials

Located at the south end of the Somniel is the Tower of Trials.

Tempest Trials lets you take a series of consecutive maps to earn experience points and crystals.

Outrealm Trials lets you create a defence map and upload it for other players to attempt. You can also attempt other players’ defence maps.

In Relay Trials, you and another player can take turns to play co-op battles.

Records Hall

Here you can check various references.

Support: Review support conversations between pairs of characters.

Bond: Review bond conversations between Emblems and characters.

Ally Notebook: View your characters’ profiles, including their birthdays, how you met them, etc.

Ring Reference: View your Emblems’ profiles, including their Bond Level upgrades.

Profile Card: Design your profile card and exchange cards with other players.

You can also view these via the Reference menu.

In addition, there’s a Photo Mode available in the outdoor parts of the Somniel. You can choose and pose multiple allies (including Emblems). Photos can be saved to your Profile Card.

amiibo Gazebo

The amiibo Gazebo returns from Three Houses. You can scan any amiibo to obtain random items. If you scan a Fire Emblem series amiibo, you can obtain outfits and music related to the 12 Emblems.

Scanning a FE amiibo gives you one costume and one song ticket to redeem the outfits and music that you want.

Farmyard

At the Farmyard, you can interact with animals from across Elyos. You may find rare items here too.

You can use the Stable to manage your animals. Animals can be adopted during battlefield explorations. You may need a certain donation level for the country to adopt certain animals.

Sommie

They say Sommie has been living at the Somniel since the dawn of time. Nobody is sure what it is or where it came from, but if you befriend it, good things may happen to you.

Fishing

The Fishing mini-game returns from Three Houses! Do we need to say more?

Fortune Telling

If you’re uncertain of the future, Seadall is offering his fortune-telling service. Not sure if it actually does anything, but it looks cool at least.

Strength Training

Ever looked at yourself and thought you’re kinda skinny for a RPG hero? Well, why not try a bit of Strength Training? Doing so can improve your stats for the next fight.

Various exercises are available:

  • Push-Ups boosts Str
  • Sit-Ups boosts HP
  • Squats boosts Dex

Each exercise also has multiple difficulty levels.

Wyvern Ride

Hmm, do you think Ivy will let us borrow her wyvern for a bit?

Pew pew pew pew pew!

My Room

AKA the Private Quarters from FE Fates. Whenever you need some alone time, you can rest at Alear’s personal bedroom. Sleeping will progress the time of day slightly and one of your allies may come to wake you up.

You can also look back on your adventures and adjust the difficult settings from here.
