Outrealm Trials is a 1v1 multiplayer mode accessible via the Tower of Trials at the Somniel. It is online only and requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play.

In this mode, you play against another player whose team is controlled by the computer, similar to Aether Raids in FE Heroes.

Two options are available:

Quick Battle – Choose from 6 preset maps.

Custom Battle – You may edit your half of the map, by placing characters and terrain features. After that, you can battle other players by combining your half-map with theirs (offense). You can also upload your half-map for other players to challenge (defense).

By winning Outrealm Trials, you can earn random tonics, materials, gifts, etc. None of them are particularly important. After completing the game, you can also earn skill books that award SP.

Note: In Custom Battles, after placing characters on your defense map, you cannot use those same characters when challenging other players during offense.

Victory Rewards

After winning a Quick Battle or Custom Battle (offense or defense), you will receive one of the following items selected at random.

Notes:

  • Novice Books and Adept Books are only available after completing Chapter 26.
  • If you win a Custom Battle (offense), you’ll receive two lots of the same item, excluding skill books. Eg. Rare Fish x1 becomes Rare Fish x2.
