  1. I'm not sure why there are people getting offended(?) about people reacting negatively to this. Maybe you feel different, but for a lot of people, including myself, the fun of musou games is to go wild with your favorite characters, since the actual games are rather shallow. The only character from Archanea I'm a really big fan of is Camus, and while there are a few decent ones in Awakening and Fates, there are none I would ever consider calling my favorites (there are plenty of characters from them I loathe, however). So of course I'm not going to be interested in the game after this latest information. Camus can't carry an entire game by himself for me. Especially not if I end up having to contend with characters like Tharja or Peri as well.
  2. Really, they should just be honest and say they want the sweet modern FE cash instead of coming up with that explanation about avoiding excess sword wielders. As if there aren't tons of characters across all games that don't use swords, or as if there's some rule that if you include a game, the Lord MUST be included as well. If anything, focusing on Fates and Awakening leads to the biggest excess of sword units, as they have the highest amount of important characters who use swords. Chrom, Robin, Lucina, Corrin, Xander, and Ryoma. I know, follow the money, but I'd be more inclined to respect it if they were simply honest about it rather than making up such a transparent excuse.
  3. Welp, that's my cue to not care about this game.
  4. I found it quite amusing how Jedah says something along the lines of "How naive a fool can you possibly be?" Even the blatantly evil and manipulative villain is astonished at just how easy this idiot is making it for him.
  5. Congratulations on beating it. Your confusion is understandable, since you were misinformed earlier in the topic. There's no guaranteed crit from Alm. The game simply checks during combat if Duma would die in this round, and if he would, Alm does the finisher. In scenario one, Alm rolls no crits, meaning he does 24 damage. This doesn't deplete Duma's 42 HP, so there's no finisher. In scenario two, Alm rolls a crit, taking the damage up to 48 for the round, which would kill Duma, so the finisher is performed. In your case, you'd want to get Duma down to 24 HP (12 x 2) with other units to be certain of victory. But seeing as you won, it's not terribly important at this point.
  6. No, you don't. Here's how it works: when Duma's HP goes below a certain threshold, he becomes immune to everything but the Falchion and recovers 40HP at the start of the enemy phase to get back above the threshold. What you want to do is this: get him as close as you can to the threshold, then have your strongest unit attack. This should leave Duma at, idk, 1-30 HP depending on how close to the threshold he was and how strong your unit is. Then you simply attack with Alm, and he'll do the finisher. It's pretty much just like softening up enemies with a Jagen so other units can get the kill. No luck required.
  7. It'd certainly be great if you could upload the DLC music once it's all out, but I can wait until then. I'm assuming that's slightly less work for you than having to convert and upload multiple times. I wonder when they'll actually announce (and release) an OST. FE OSTs seem to take quite a while to come out...
  8. Thanks! I'm looking forward to when the game gets a proper OST release, too. I'll probably buy it since it's my favorite OST in the series so far. I just don't want to scour the internet for a bunch of pre-order "best selection" CDs so I can maybe piece together a decent tracklist, heh. Easier to stick with gamerips for now.
  9. Or am I misremembering? I just finished the game and wanted to enjoy the music (without having the 3DS on next to me), and afaik there's no full official release of the OST.
  10. I'm worried about the localization because a) they're probably gonna censor or tone down something stupidly pointless and b) http://amielleon.dreamwidth.org/201041.htmlI don't want more nonsense like this.
  11. I see. Thanks for the answers, both of you. I did some more reading on Lunatic and it sounds pretty good. I will probably jump straight into Nohr Lunatic/Classic once it's localized. I did also notice character growth rates seem rather abysmal this time around, at least for some. HP growths in particular seem REALLY low.
  12. I couldn't spot one among all the threads asking questions about various features unrelated to the SRPG part of the game, so if we have one and I missed it, I apologize. That said, while everyone else seems to have questions about how everything else works, I'm left with burning questions about the gameplay itself: Is the map design more satisfying and strategic than Awakening's? As in, is it still just mostly open squares with your army on one side and the enemy on the other? How true is it that there are consistently varied victory objectives in Nohr? Are skills still horribly imbalanced? Are higher difficulties still more of a Disgaea-esque stat competition than a strategic challenge through tricky skill and enemy placement that force you to think up new strategies?
  13. There are far too many Awakening fans in /feg/ for me to tolerate browsing it, let alone posting there. Anyway, I suppose it's true that we don't know if the map design, balance and all that will be as atrocious as in Awakening. As far as story and characters goes, though, I'd say we have enough info to declare it dead in the water at this point.
  14. If any of this is true it's literally the worst thing IS has done since making Awakening and irreperably (as proved by If/Fates) ruining the series.
  15. After Awakening's abysmal story and cast, I really don't need much to be "happy" with the story in this one. More actual characters on the enemy side (like Narcien, Ephidel, etc.), a nice Camus archetype character, some light political intrigue. FE stories are by no means impressive if subjected to scrutiny, but most of them do manage to be fun to watch. Awakening's felt really messy and fragmented, it was like it had 3 characters who were each like "villain of the week" as if it were an old anime.
