  1. I think I'm going to take a stab and share a link to this concept I made for a revised Conquest run since last year. It's a complete overhaul of Fire Emblem Conquest with Revelations attached to the near end. I was planning to make a revised Birthright path, too, but I'm just one person, so I had to scale things back a lot. My intent with this really long project is, like many others, to improve Fates' plot and flesh out the world the games take place in. I never really had a name for it, but I guess I'll call it "I As Future Kings" because that's the name of the blog anyways. I don't have the time and resources to make something nearly as polished as editing those really nicely edited videos and full character portraits for this AU, nor do I have the time to write fully written fanfiction. So I've taken to scripting scenes like those text LPs with talking sprites and drawing a few comics wherever I can. I've been rather hesitant about plugging it to the community because I wanted to make enough content to show people on hand rather than just saying I'm going to make one and losing the motivation to commit. I made a Tumblr blog with a meticulously tagging system for any content and answered questions. On the same site, I've made two timelines, one for the past and the present. Most of the written "scripts" and comics have been compiled on a single fic on AO3 called "As Dark Comes the Night". I'm slowly but surely trying to archive the editorials, reader Q&A, and worldbuilding post on the AO3 series under the same name as the blog. In case anyone is wondering a brief list potential clinchers or deal breakers (plus some spoilers): I'm more than happy to answer any questions. edit: I needed to refine that list of bullets
  2. Happy birthday!

  3. Super excited, even though I'm not going to play it until March when winter quarter ends. :' D
  4. Well, thankfully this is a video game, which means the less favorable options are what they are: options. Since the other parts of the game hold promise for me, I think i can handle this or I can avoid them pretty easily. Better than watching a television show or movie laden with fanservice where you're forced to see all of it whether you want to or not.
  5. Kinda looks like her arms have literally become streams of water. That's p cool.
  6. I wonder if this is going to be the music for the avatar customization, just drawing parallels to Awakening's music here.
  7. Perhaps something that could work in both English and Japanese. So far, the possibilities I've come up with are Arisa and Reina for female, Kane and Yuri for male. If I get too lazy, I'll stick with default name, whatever it will be.
  8. Pretty neutral for both of them because I'm waiting for the localization. If they can change Felicia's voice to be less of a squealing mess (like with Olivia), I will definitely like her just as much as I like Joker/Jakob. I'm suddenly reminded of that thing in Devil Survivor 2 where you can choose between a male and female Tico. Though female Tico is not at all like Felicia in appearance, and I haven't heard the voice overs for the remake, Jakob reminds me of male Tico: calm, cool, and somewhat responsible. It really is. Must be the appeal of cute things that sound and look vulnerable. Not my kind of thing, but props to those who do like it.
  9. Yeah, I'm not sure how many people do know Leon Trotsky. The only reason I know the guy was because I was fortunate to spend three months analyzing Animal Farm in school. Though it would be amusing to see a power struggle between Leo and Xander.
  10. You could make the connection of the name Leon to communism (like Xander/Marx) by Leon Trotsky, though not sure if that's generally known enough to warrant a name change. It would be amusing if Leo had a power struggle with Xander.
  11. Nah, you're not alone. Personally, I don't really like hair buns that sit directly at the top of one's head (an admirable style, but not my type). At least it looks like she has her mother's eyes...
  12. Children have been and will likely be optional, so I don't think we'll be missing out on very much aside from extra support conversations. I can't really see the existence of children really changing the narrative of the games, which was making a choice between your families and either defending or reforming your country. Perhaps having actual children of your own, or knowing that you will have children, could strengthen you resolve to do what you need to do, but it probably won't be that major.
  13. And then the conversations will be all about "Why did you abandon me and leave me, Mom/Dad? You're no better than Garon!" lolllllll
  14. I think it was Tales of Symphonia. If you stacked up enough relationship points with a certain male character in your party, he replaces the love interest role for the rest of the game. Sorry, but this might be getting off topic. I think our original point was that there are other games with a gay option, so why not in Fire Emblem? I'm not really minding the implications of the marriage mechanic very much anymore now, though it is a bit disappointing. It's something that happens a lot now, so I just resignedly accept it.
