  1. With no further update on the website, the game is finally released after a very long period of time! Korean gamers are very satisfied with game plays AND being able to understand what characters are saying. Since the game is released, I probably will not update on this issue in the future, but if anything notable happens, I will let you guys know. I wish the franchise to expand to more countries, so more people will enjoy the series.
  2. Based on released information only characters' name came from North American version. Everything else like weapons, classes, support conversations, and etc all follows Japanese version. So, North American version's censorship most likely do not exist in this game, at least for supports. i.e) Male Corrin and Felicia S rank support NA version: I will never let anything tear us apart. Korean version: 평생 동안, 내 곁에 있어야 해. (You should stay with me forever.) Korean translation follows very closely to Japanese version. Another example is paradise scramble. NA version: paradise Korean version: 남국 (Southern state) This also follows closely to Japanese version.
  3. http://nintendo.co.kr/3DS/software/bfwj/index.html 파이어 엠블렘 if's page is updated with more information! First link (starting from left) shows some localization details. Interestingly, names from both Japanese version and North American versions are used. Corrin = 카무이 (Kamui) Azura = 아주라 (Azura) Hinoka = 히노카 (Hinoka) Ryoma = 료마 (Ryoma) Xander = 잰더 (Xander) Camila = 카밀라 (Camila) Elise = 엘리스 (Elise) Anankos = 아난코스 (Anankos) Jakob = 제이콥 (Jakob) Takumi = 타쿠미 (Takumi) Anna = 안나 (Anna) Leo = 리오 (Leo) Felicia = 펠리시아 (Felicia) Llewelyn = 루웰린 (Llewelyn) Yato = 야신도 (Korean name for Yato) Raijinto = 뇌신도 (Thunder God Blade) Iron Bow = 철의 활 (Bow of Iron) Steel Lance = 강철의 창 (Spear of Steel) Naginata = 월도 (Moon Blade) Nosferatu = 리자이어 (Resire) Falcon Knight = 성 천마 무사 (Holy Sky Warrior) Kinshi Knight = 킨시 무사 (Kinshi Warrior) Ballistician = 슈터 (Shooter) Witch = 마녀 (Witch) Second link demonstrates DLCs: first wave dlcs and the Third Route. Third link shows some promotion videos with Korean narrators, which makes me think that this game should include Korean VAs. Fourth one is introduction of New Nintendo 3DS Fire Emblem if Edition.
  4. Although NoK has difficult time financially right now, translation is no problem since it does not really take that much of budget. On the other hand, licencing takes a lot of budget for Nintendo Company. If the company wants to use VAs voices oversea, the company has pay extra to these VAs unless they are contracted in the beginning. Considering the reputation of these VAs, it may be cheaper to hire VAs for localzations, which NoA did. However, I do not think Japanese VAs are contracted to use their voice in S.Korea, and NoK does not have enough budget to hire Korean VAs, so the conclusion is North American version. That I do not know for certain. Like NoA, NoK is not exactly open with its information. There are a lot of speculations, but people generally agree that Nintendo Company does not want to spend too much money on the franchise because they are not sure how well this game will sell.
  5. It is about a month from official release of Fire Emblem if in South Korea. So, Nintendo of Korea just created a teaser page for Korean gamers. I think more information will be uploaded with Korean localizations. I will try to keep a track of NoK's information till the release. http://www.nintendo.co.kr/3DS/software/bfwj/index.html There are not much information, but one piece of information is very disappointing to gamers: the game is based on North American version, which obviously only has English voice. Koreans do not like North American version for three reasons: 1. Many don't like to listen English voice in JRPGs. 2. They are well aware of NoA's censorship. 3. NoK usually release Japanese versions with Korean subtitles for JRPGs, but suddenly NoK decides to release North American version. Anyway, I will also try to show how Korean gamers generally react to Korean localizations on FE if.
  6. Funny thing is that Japanese themes are not the main issue that Koreans are concerned about. They are primarily concerned about which version will be localized and distributed. To be honest, Koreans are not too fond about English dubs on Japanese contents, so what they want to know is whether Japanese voices will be used or not. Korean dubs are great, but considering the economic situation of NoK, I seriously doubt Korean dub will happen. Also, Koreans are also well aware of controversial censorship on this game. So, ideally, Koreans wish to have Japanese voice and version of Fates. Unfortunately, considering that this game got 12 rating (equivalent to T rating), it is highly likely that American version will be used. For voices, I would wager 50/50, since NoK has history of using Japanese and English dubs.
  7. That would be before 1998 when Korea closed its door to Japanese cultures. Since Japanese cultures are open to Korea, Koreans generally do not give damn about Samurais, Ninjas and whatnots. As long as they don't involve Imperial Japan, Koreans tend to not have hatred toward Japanese culture.
  8. Nintendo Korea just announced that 파이어 엠블렘 if (Fire Emblem if) will be officially released in September 8th, 2016. Apparently, Hoshido or Nohr version will not be separately released. Both routes are in a single cartridge, and Valla route will be available in e-shop in near future. Its price is 69,000 won which is approximately 60 bucks. So, this is kind of like SE minus Valla and an art book. Also, New Nintendo 3DS XL "Fire Emblem if Edition" will be released in a same day.
  9. I have a Strategist named Ursula. I cannot ask for a better name.
  10. Yep, I totally see your point. But Senno as a merchant doesn't seem to fit too well. So, I always reclass him into a Mechanist, so he can have a master manipulator image. For promoted generics, I always favored (as my profile image suggests) Merchant since it is really rare to see a funny generic enemies. I especially love the winning motion that a Merchant tries to imitate Spear Master/Great Master but hilariously fails. For unpromoted generics, Sky Knight is my favorite possibly because I was really disappointed with Pegasus knight design in Awakening.
  11. Many will probably agree that Conquest is famous/infamous for its insanely sometimes unfairly difficult chapters. On the other hand, Birthright and Revelation is much more manageable even with Lunatic difficulty. So, I was thinking what if these chapters have Conquest difficulties? These are my speculation. Birthright Chapter 7: Staff user with Freeze and Enfeeble in the middle of the map. Chapter 8: Since enemies are natives to desert, they ignore movement penalties. Chapter 10: Ninjas have turrets positioned in hard to reach places. Chapter 12: Xander is positioned on the escape tile to prevent Corrin from easy escape. After certain turns, he uses dragon vein to freeze water. Chapter 14: Reinforcements, lots of reinforcements. Chapter 17: Flora has crazy debuff staves + (may be staff savant?) Chapter 18: Facelesses have Savage Blows and various breakers + Leo summons a lot more Facelesses. Chapter 20: Same concept as Chapter 18 Chapter 21: After certain turns lava flows and infinite number of reinforcement comes from holes. Chapter 23: Map already kinda feels like Conquest chapter. If I have to add, it would be lots of reinforcements. Chapter 24: Every enemies has at least one annoying skills like Counter or Rallies. Chapter 26: Staff users with inevitable end + staff savant. Revelation I can't really think of creative one since many maps are already gimmicky. I can think of reinforcements or annoying skills, but it would be dull to fill all chapters with them. If you have any brilliant ideas, please do share.
  12. I am currently beating Conquest/Lunatic nearing final chapter. Compared to Birthright and Revelation, Conquest is whole new game. Birthright: Camila, really annoying DVs, but still manageable with armorslayer, beast killer, etc. Revelation: Ch 24, SRPG is not cut out to be stealth game... Conquest: Ch 10, Endless waves of enemies, small number of units, and open field after turn 7. Ch 19, Illusion is really annoying, I am literally forced to let enemies playing right in my yard. Ch 20, One wrong move, one unit is separated from rest of our army waiting to be ass kicked. Ch 21, Savages Blows and Stoneborns, nothing more to say. Ch 22, Endless waves of reinforcement, turrets, and Sakura who made me feel not so bad about knocking her after 5 turn. Ch 23, Near Rally Spectrum Spear Masters and Master of Arms, paired up units, ballistas, can't miss snipers with counters. Ch 24, Stuck with lowered movement + endless waves of Falcon and Kinshis. Ch 25, Negative Chains enough said. Ch 26, IAGO + Hexing Rod. Ch 28, Fire Emblem Final Chapter on crack.
  13. That's odd. I already have 75 units in the party, and I can recruit more captured units.
