  1. If your sysnand is on 10.6, your options are limited to oot3dHax, smashHax, and ninjhax to get started with HBL. If you're not, you can and should use much simpler methods such as browserhax and menuhax. Just go google it, it's easy to find guides about everything about cfw, downgrading sysnand, homebrew, etc. I have a quick question: I'm running the installed patched .cia of the JP SE on rxTools emunand 10.6, and when I start the game it tells me there's a software update available. Is it okay to let it update it, or should I avoid that?
  2. No, it clearly says "Play through Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, as well as the Revelation path on a single game card with Fire Emblem Fates - Special Edition" right on the front page of the bestbuy ad. Pretending to interpret what's written in a different way, or denying it, just because you can, when it also clearly does not state the required "Comes with a redeemable code for xyz DLC" clause like every other pre-order bonus game in existence is required to do, doesn't make sense. So because they don't show it in a direct means they can't use anything else as marketing material they give directly to retailers? I'd also like to know what precedent you think was ever set where any game, pre-order/special edition or 3ds or whatever, does not specifically state "Comes with a redeemable code to download xyz DLC" or "Comes pre-installed", like every pre-order dlc bonus does, but does comes with one of those anyway.
  3. Here and here and here and here just to name a few Relevant text they all share: Edit: And the stock image used to advertise it everywhere also says the same thing. "Complete Fire Emblem Fates Edition: Birthright, Conquest, and Revelation on a single game card"
  4. Just want to confirm 2 things for others, as when I mentioned it before people said no, but it is in fact 100% true: All Three Versions of Fire Emblem: Fates (Birthright, Conquest, Revelation) are all on the single SE game cartridge for the NA version. Yes, SE owners get to play Revelations three weeks prior to launch on eShop, it's not DLC and you don't get a code to redeem This (I think) would facilitate patching the NA version for all 3 routes as IK/Revelation is not completely relegated to DLC only, which is a bigger PITA to do.
  5. Yep I wasn't planning on asking since it technically would be construed as pirating. I think I was misunderstanding what they all meant by 9.2 and 10.3, I assumed they were talking about the base firmware (sysnand I guess), but I guess the latter was talking bout 10.3 of the CFW, not the 3ds. Thanks.
  6. Since this is the route I have to go now I have a couple questions I just want to clarify for myself as far as what I need to do. I haven't done cfw or homebrew since the regular DS days, so I figured I'd be spending time on gbatemp reading and relearning about how to do all that for 3ds. I dug up my o3ds XL and it's on 9.7. I have a rom for the JP SE already (no physical cart yet, it's on the way but really far out). I'd like to play all 3 routes. Can I get it working with just the rom and the work needed to setup cfw, or do I absolutely need the physical cart? For collector's value, I don't mind saving the physical SE and leaving it sealed if it's a route I can take. IK/3rd route, it's DLC only and not on the physical cart for the JP version right? From what I understand the JP SE is not like the NA SE which comes with all 3 routes, giving NA players a 3 week head-start access to it before it officially releases as DLC for NA. If it is DLC only (which I'm assuming is the case) I'll be able to access the JP eshop to get it, somehow right? I absolutely must downgrade my o3ds to 9.2 then if the above is true, to patch the translation in for the 3rd route, correct? I see some back and forth about requiring 9.2 to patch the DLC, but others saying some CFW's at 10.3 work perfectly...? Thanks for the hard work you guys are doing in translating this. I sadly don't know any japanese myself so I can't help with it, but otherwise looking forward to your releases.
