  1. Another part of the formula left out is terrain bonus/debuffs. In almost every instance of a fire emblem game terrain has an impact on the formula. Locations like woods/thicket and bases/forts would also reduce damage by 1 to 3 regardless if it was magical or physical. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn separated this and made it so certain spaces/tiles reduce one or the other once you got to part 4 and in Fire Emblem Three Houses, avoid and defense granted by the terrain had no bearing on magic attacks. So keep this in mine too when positioning yourself. In this FE, (which I'm not playing just yet) I'd imagine they either went back to old days or followed what Three Houses started. So ask the other members how the terrain works.
  2. Okay, so I heard that this game was impacted by the localization team and they modified the scripts. I don't know to what extent or how severe it was but anybody who can shed light on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. If it is just par for the course like what they did to Fates, then I don't think it is too bad (modify character ages so they can loop around that fact that they are minors so they can justify character relationships) but if it is like FE: Blaze or FE: Three Houses where they warped Eliwood's character to be likeable by western audiences (since back then the logic was that he was too indecisive to be a hero) or Bernadetta's support cause they think western fans can't handle reading about a fictional character's traumatic past then I might have some beef with that. I also heard Henry from Awakening was also somewhat tweaked to be less psychotic since he was too much on the extreme end. Anybody who has heard or seen conversations about this if you could link it cause at the moment my only sources are from reddit and 4chan but I want to take what they say with a grain of salt cause they tend to over inflate things and since I know it'll be some time before everyone has every support unlocked I know we can't rely on that. However if someone gets a good chunk of supports and can understand the Japanese language and tell there is a discrepancy between what is spoken and what provided as the English translation then by all means share your experience. I first experiencened this myself when listening to Annette and Mercedes talk and I could tell they didn't do a very good job translating. Between those two, what I heard differed from what I was reading on screen. Thanks in advance fe community. Hope everyone enjoys their new game now that it is out. I myself look forward to the game but gotta wait before I can pick up a copy since I got a backlog of others I gotta clear first.
  3. Quite a few hit & misses. On the + side I like how we could roam around, talk to trainers to start a battle, plenty of loot to pick up to sell, have a somewhat meaningful story (a portion of it), the whole auto battle thing is a cool feature I hope sticks around, and a bunch of other little things that made me realize pokemon could still make quality improvements. I also love something that happened in post game that reminded me of D/P that I won't mention for spoiler reasons. Not to beat a dead horse and bag on the performance since everyone does that already but some of the things I didn't like that I hope they take out in future sequels: No more being surrounded for an ambush (I'm talking about how you could be in a battle with a trainer or wild mon, and then a bunch of wild mons that want to challenge just camp out and wait to tag you after you're done), no more trainers with just 1 mon (cause come on seriously, GameFreak already experimented with a new feature with us needing to talk to them but to stop my abundance of wild mon battles for a trainer one with only one mon and cheap pay out was immersion breaking), and why in holy crap did they take away the option to toggle off battle animations. If someone were to ask me if they should buy it or not, I'd tell them put it at the bottom of the wish list since it was fun, but I know many other games that are going to be more fun so buy those first. It is a shame Nintendo rarely if ever let's their main IPs go on sale. Cause honestly I don't think I should have forked over $60 for that and considering they may later try to grab more cash by releasing dlc makes me feel a little bitter/frustrated with the definitive path GF and by extension Nintendo are now taking. Releasing bugged incomplete games. It is a real shame.
  4. Okay for the record, I didn't say i wanted the game to flop. That was someone else. I simply said the quality was low (which i'd like to amend for better accuracy). The cost of production for this game wasn't very much but they choose to slap a high price tag on it when they could literally sell it for less, go beyond breaking even, and sell even more copies since a person wouldn't be intimadiated from buying a $60 game. Also what happened here was, i saw the title of this thread and people were praising the game's success but after pondering it over for a bit, i thought "let's tell Koei/IS that we want a higher quality product since they can clearly see what like this franchise but also make sure we tell them the flaws we saw in this game". I then proceeded to try to evaluate/assess this game fairly while not gushing over it like a fangirl at a Justin Beibar's concert. It is fun, i like the new character designs post-time skip, i want them to improve the interface a little as far as the classes go and give us more diversity on the battlefields. But most people already shower them with that praise and tell they can fix those few things so i wanted to cover something different. I didn't want to condemn this game into oblivion. Here let me see if using an analogy will help me make the point when i'm talking about quality in correlation to price/worth. If you go to a fast food joint the price you pay there is pretty reasonable. Most of their resources are bought from a supplier that can mass produce it cheaply. The nutritional value of the ingredient is low, the effort the assemble the burger (fry the nuggests or french fries) and sell it as a combo isn't much, and what they charge per unit helps them make profit. So all in all, selling a combo for say $7 to $10 is reasonable. Now look at a restaurants you go inside to sit and wait for a server to hand you a menu. The quality of their ingrdients is better since it is fresh and depending on where you are dining at, can even be nutruitional. The cook actually prepares the meal as they are ordered so more effort is clearly exerted into assembling your meal. Plus you even have a server checking up on you (depending on establisment) to make sure you are content with your experience. Ergo it is fair and reasonable for them charge higher amounts (i can't give examples since it varies so widely across the board so i'll do just one. Breakfast at Ihop/Denny's can range around $11 to $15 and it is reasonable for how much you get on your plate compared to a cheaply assembled breakfast crossiant at McDonalds for $6). In essence, this game is kinda like a combo from a fastfood place such as Burger King (metaphorically speaking). Most of the frame was already pre-made from their previous titles, character models were imported from FE:3 Houses, they gave is 13 to 14 maps, they grabbed the same mold from the same game and only gave us 3 zones to walk around in (the monastery comparable to our main camp, the 2nd floor comparable to our temp camp during chapter 1/2, and the 3rd floor comparable to space camp during the hidden chapters of 15/16) so they didn't even do anything new. I could go on but i think you get the point. This is literally the lowest effort they exerted into making a 60 dollar game. Compared to say for example Dragon's Dogma which is priced at $30 and has a pretty expanisve engine running it with a giant open lush world, great cinematics, impressive AI that also learns and grows built into your allies that travel the world with you, and so much more. Plus capcom will let their game go on sale from time to time and can take off as much as 70% off. Meanwhile Nintendo is the most stingey company that won't let their biggest IPs go on sale but maybe once a year or every other two years and for barely 30% off. How many times have you seen Smash Ultimate or Mario Kart Deluxe go on sale? That i can recall, maybe 3 or 4 times over the course of 5 years for as low as $40. A person's perception of a game's worth/value is subjective, but what isn't is the the cost of production. That can be measured most definitely and be done so in a fair/objective manner. Plus going 1 step beyond that, deciding what the company should market the game for so they can profit, can also be done fairly from the consumers. This is poorly constructed and that is being generous, and all i want is for the game to be priced accordingly when you can see other games are priced for less that were created with more care. The worst part is, this game won't go on sale considering what studio owns it, but probably maybe once per year and only for a measly 30% off at most. Do you remember when they gave us peg/stub legs in Awakening? And how we (figuratively speaking) bashed them over the head for it? Heck, even Kotaku (a major game critiquing/review site) ran an article on them telling them it was unacceptable. What did they do? Fix it in Fates. They actually had little feet. You may be anxious or worried of overly criticizing a game to the point where it may see it's own existence cease but many, and i mean thousands, of people aren't. I'm not going to stop pushing against them to give us better quality games. Even if the community isn't unified and working together in a way that is organized and professional, someone still has to call them out. Companies pour millions into marketing and have a Public Relations (PR) department. They have people with a salary of over $80,000 annualy (i did a quick search on it) whose sole responsiblity is to provide feedback to the executives in a report on what they can do to maxmize their profits. They have small teams of people who scour the internet (especially sites dedicated to a franchise like this one) not just to search feedback to help improve their games, but to also avoid doing things that will piss the community off (like how there was a segment of people blasting them for not adding japanese audio to the game in Fates). Plus they need to do this in order to follow the trends and captalize on what is popular (like unfortunely making FE into a waifu collector with Awakening/Fates and then also giving the people more representation they are asking for [[more non-heterosexual characters like in FE 3 Houses]]). Remember when Bernadetta's support conversation caused a controvsery so they rolled out a secet quiet update that patched it? How do you think they became aware of that? Because major outlets like IGN, Kotaku, and Polygon called them out for it. I don't think it wise to silence discontent or to dimisss those individuals. It isn't in your own best interest. If and when they roll an update out for this game, it'll be because we are all talking about it and someone in some small department is scrolling around on various review sites/forums. They'll measure the cost of giving us what we want along with the projections if it'll sell well. You really shouldn't underestimate their network for gathering info and someone analyzing it. These people are playing with big bucks and you better believe they allocated someone telling them these kinds of things. If we had people who create content on platforms like Youtube state at the beginning/end of their video that their evaluation/assessment wasn't intended to dissuade others from buying the game but be a message to the studios of what they could do better, and then said person had millions of views and a proportionate thumbs up, we could communicate way faster and effiencetly. Then this entire process wouldn't be so tricky to navigate or be painful for the consumers or the developers. However very few people can articulate their thoughts that well while sending a message, try to be a positive influence in the industry, and be fair/objective in their evalutions so sadly, that isn't the way things are. I'd go on but...i don't know what if i'm saying is even registering with you. I'm not sure you are actually seeing things from my perspective. Which by the way, i'm not trying to persuade you over into agreeing with or trying to turn this into a discussion of one of us is correct while the other is incorrect. I get that the gaming enviorment is pretty volatile and has bad actors in it, but i really do want what is best for all of us (or at least i think/hope so most of the time)
  5. Okay so i have to break up this response into sections to make sure i don't create any kind of misunderstanding. I want to make sure we are on the same page and not confused about what is being said and how it should be interpreted What i'm not suggesting is every game become some materpiece. But for nintendo to price their games appropriately. I understand everyone plays games for different reasons, with different play styles, and certain moods. I grasp that. But you tell me how a game with a significant amount of effort exerted into it's creation (and any person can objectively see that regardless if the said individual likes the game or not) is price tagged $60 and then another game with a fraction of that effort is also priced at $60 and it can be considered okay/fair. They literally recycled a bunch of assests. They have all the engines and coding they could have pulled from two Hyrule Warrior games and their previous FEW game. Combine that with all the models already being in place that they pulled from Fire Emblem 3 Houses. If i had to try to come up with a metaphor or analogy for what they did, it was like they went to a junkyard, bought a car, slapped a fresh coat of paint on it and maybe changed out the interior seats but left the engine and most of the other parts required for it to run all still in tact and then sold it to you. As opposed to from the ground up, go to a factory and start the assembly line and literally put a new car together with not only all new parts, a new body frame, and interior. The Witcher 3 (complete edition with all DLC) for reference is $60 while the base game is $40. This Fire Emblem Warriors 3 Hopes is also $60. Are you actually okay with being ripped off like that? When they clearly didn't even put effort into making their product. This game at most should be like $30. The only "new" section/part they couldn't recyle was battlefields which they only gave us i think either 13 or 14. All the side quests are chopped maps from the whole map itself. Also deflecting me by saying "why can't you just find something else to fix or improve if you go so many bright ideas" totally reeked of condescension. So not only did you miss the point of what i was trying to convey but when you couldn't even refute me, you patronized me. Here i am acting in a manner/asking for what is in your best interest, and you mock me? Your account and existence on these forums contradicts your very own statements. This website is primarily for a strategy game that requires thinking (not being braindead) and despite the fact that pokemon somehow got brought up (not by me) you just went ahead and made a whole bunch of assumptions of how i feel about SwSh and who knows what else. I can already tell you don't want to actually engage me in any kind of meaningful conversation so don't even @ me or quote me back after this. You already have this mental image/idea of what i stand for after reading one of my posts about a game not even related to Pokemon with the wrong context/interpretation from another person responding to me. Do you have any idea what that says about you? Please...think carefully. Not for my sake, but your own (i was going to make a joke and say "use what's left of that braincell" you mentioned but i'm almost certain that'd be taken the wrong way). I'm not your enemy and i'm not the person you think i am. I'm not trying to belittle you or anything. If you want to know about how i feel towards pokemon it is actually pretty short and simple. I just want them to lower their price tags and if they aren't going to do that, make something more visually beautiful. Outside of me asking them to stop with the gimmicks they create every gen (for example Z-moves) i don't even really dabble in suggesting gameplay changes or performance. And since customization is already an existing mechanic, all i'd ask for is more fashion types. That in a nutshell is all i even demand from them. Compared to other gamers asking for things such as an improved interfaces, online chat rooms, more features for online and etc, i'm more so on the tame side. I was just frustrated with the fact that people are celebrating this reoccuring concept of a game company not actually exerting effort when it comes to making games but then still making loads of money. I took a class in college regarding business and one thing the teacher covered was an idea (it was also in the book). That we the consumers have the most power in our relationship but we actually need to come to a consensus and act collectively. They can't get away predatory practices if the consumers simply all in mass don't give them our patronage. But in order for us all to act accordingly, we have to be informed. We need individuals who can still identify or spot their malpratice. I just want people to know that this game they gave us is the bare minimum of what they could do and that we need to demand better/more. It isn't unreasonable. Of course maybe i probably should have put more thought into what i'm accomplishing. My post was irrelevant to what this thread's main discussion was and even if i created a separate thread, i doubt a few hundred people on serenes can achieve any meaningful impact on a company like IS/Koei let alone Nintendo. It is poor quality. I can say that objectively. The only way i'd be able to come to that conclusion is after sinking at least 100 hours and throughly examining it. However that point i was trying to convey/make was lost cause of misunderstanding or misinterpretation. I think...I'm not sure. With that be said though, i still do like the game even though i don't think it is worth $60. I like playing musou games with hack 'n' slash. I'm also here for more lore from the Fodlan series since i do like some of these characters and i want to see it for myself. So all in all, i'm having fun. Here i'll try to use an analogy here to try to convey what is happening. Take for example a person who doesn't like to waste food. Say they cook something and it doesn't come out exactly the way the wanted it too. The food is still edible and won't otherwise poison the individual. So at the very least they are going to eat it as opposed to throwing in the trash can since that would be a total waste. It did cost money to buy those ingredients and time to prepare it and even if it isn't perfect it'll still at least get the job done and make you feel full. Now exiting the analogy (or was that a metaphor?). I bought the game and it is still fun. I just wanted it to be better than what it was. Even if it isn't inherently clear, my point that i was trying to make as well as what i'm fighting for (not in the literal sense) is actually in your best interest. I won't ever stop demanding higher quality games from Nintendo. Which you would benefit from by the way. I didn't try to antagonize you and it isn't like as if i percieve you poorly as a result of this exchange. I do think this game is low/poor quality but that doesn't mean i'm not having fun playing it. I'm also still like reading what others chat about since it is usually informative and even broadens my perspective from time to time. This includes some of the things you've said in other threads in this subsection. Plus i'm also here (in this subsection of 3 Hopes) because i'm a volunteer and i'm making a decent amount of contributions toward filling out the wiki's page. And for anyone who is responding to me either in this thread or other threads, even if a discussion turns into a debate, i will always endeavor to understand others and their perspective because i can't grow unless i can see beyond my own perspective. Being able to understand and see things from other angles that other people concieve is important to me as well as gathering new information that can possibly update my understanding/view. It has happened a handful times in the past (in other threads, years ago) where something like this debate will happen and usually it is cause i fail to articulate what i'm thinking but none the less, i still respond to others and try to figure what is being said to me and what the other person is trying to convey to me. I didn't come here wishing this game flopped. I have buyer's remoarse sure, but more than anything i just expected more and want more. I also think it is in everyone's best interest. I criticized this game and i'll stand by that since i'm sure that my assessment isn't inaccurate however i wanted to know why you deflected and otherwise dismissed my remarks. Since you took the time to respond others but not my questions i'll assume you don't want to discuss it anymore so i'll go ahead and drop it. And for what it's worth, i hope you and your family overcome whatever misfortune has landed your way.
  6. Making excuses for them simply enables them or more accurately let's them continue to get away with it. For the record, I don't play games with micro transactions much at all either. It wasn't until after I think Tales of Xillia (cause Symphonia and Abyss didn't have them)that they started adding dlc geared at aesthetics and some post game stuff. And Dragon's Dogma has only cosmetic stuff as well which I didn't buy. Referring to it as "misallocate" and "eye candy" shows what your expectations of a game are and priorities which are subjective and don't match with what segment of the population does care about stuff like what im talking about. So before you go invalidating how we feel about what we want, keep in mine we also purchase these games so these studios are absolutely obligated hear us out. If they continue to fail to satisfy us, then it shouldn't come as a shock or surprise when we pull our funding and buy games from companies that do listen to us. If you are so eager to brush us aside, don't ponder or wonder why the game will suffer to some degree in the sales later on down the line. I'm also not asking them to sacrifice anything in exchange. You stating that is how they got low quality in the first place says quite a bit. I most definitely won't bring into this thread a discussion of game production and the semantics that follow but please don't diminish, dismiss, minimize, or downplay other people's feelings or expectations. Our dollar is equal to yours and we want to be happy playing these games just as much as you do. And again for the record, me and thousands quite possibly millions are in fact on serebii and bulbapedia (pokemon sites that have forums) making sure they know where we stand regarding pokemon's game quality. I have plenty of "ire" to go around (as you referred to it as). What I'm curious to know is why you want to deflect criticism from this game franchise? Why are you dismissing it? Are you an employee of IS or Koei? Are you obligated in some way to nip in the bud any discontent? Also why the sarcasm in your first paragraph? Cause I can't think of any other interpretation when you said "Yep. Definitely." I don't think it is appropriate to come into these threads and conduct yourself in such a way. It isn't just immature but it also seems hostile or like as if you are trying to antagonize people. It may not be worthy of grabbing a mod's attention but it will quickly spread that you don't have good social etiquette. Then you'll find less people wanting to interact with you. I've never once done anything to otherwise slight you in any kind of way, but I'm not going to respond anymore if you just plan on downplaying what I say like it doesn't matter. "Niche" (as you referred to it as) communities thrive on word of mouth recommendations and positive reviews so that the game can score sales. By saying good stuff, a friend may be inclined to buy a game and this is what leads not just sales but people discovering a game they like. This snowballs. A few youtubers show charts in their videos as well explains the psychology of why games like 5 nights at Freddie's, Angry birds, and so forth saw such success and widespread fame. Many game companies even admitted to watching Pewdiepie and a few other influencers so they could replicate the successful results like Fall Guys had. Obscure games like Fire Emblem (which has become less obscure as time has shown) don't have some of these perks but do in fact benefit the players themselves at least saying good stuff....okay so I was mid typing this paragraph and realized this could take a while to illustrate my point. But instead I'll assume you are not only educated enough to see where I was going with that point, but also understand the importance of why they need to deliver on our expectations. All it takes is a few hundred people to be unhappy. Those people will in turn tell theirs friends not to bother with a certain game which will lead to even exponentially more people not possibly buying it. Which could be all it takes to ax a game's success or prospect at sequels.
  7. I'm so glad to hear another person is near the same boat as me. I remember back being 100+ hours in and I read some people's posts in these threads suggesting they were already done with multiple play throughs/routes and I was just baffled. My first route (Scarlet/Recruit Byleth) took somewhere between 170-190 hours and my 2nd run (Azure/no Byleth) was at 130-ish hours. Now I'm on my 3rd run (Azure/Recruit Byleth) and I'm past chapter 10. I was just shocked other people could move so fast thru the game. But then again I took a break for two weeks after the game came out and then when I was back I was doing research so I can help fill some pages on the wiki. In fact I'm still doing that but more slowly now. I have to say, I'm still disappointed these games sell well, but the effort into these games being made so is piss-poor. Like can't Koei or IS do better? I noticed they recycled so much. Like for example during the meals, most the guys tend sit the same all hunched over with just a few sitting upright and during the tea-time/expeditions the little gestures between the girls are almost all recycled. I tend to notice the effort as far as animations go in these games is absolutely non-existent. With less than about 6 variations; they stand the same, they sit at the dinner table the same, they wave their hands the same during tea time, during important discussions revolving around the story its always just them all standing in a little cluster taking turns talking and my list of criticism goes on. Does nobody else notice they recycle their assets so much? What can't they animate them sitting at a conference table discussing these things or something different? Like for example an informant walking up to Hubert and handing him a folder he opens up and reads the content of a report. I remember vividly in 3 Houses, after a few select cutscenes such as after the mock battle of Gronder Field, before the ball the night you promise to reunite, and some more, everyone just randomly makes a step sound effect and they appear out of nowhere surrounding you and the house leader and the cutscene starts just like that. They couldn't even animate them walking down the hall or turning a corner before arriving to talk with you. Don't get me started on how they walk away so easily. They literally pivot their body and take one step at most and because of the camera angle they get offscreen just slightly and then they are gone. You don't contine to hear footsteps or see their back, let alone an actual walking animation. Only a step and turn/pivot animation. They simply use clever camera angles to take people on/off screen when needed and that's it. An even more glaringly obvious flaw is the the always empty spaces where they talk. Take chapter 8/9 for example when rescuing Dimitri. You actually get an anime style cutscene and see him sitting on a bed, but when screen goes black and returns back to the normal style cutscenes they appear in a empty room with no furniture and are all standing in a little cluster talking. I'm just gonna stop there. I feel like it's pointless to bring this up since neither of these studios will ever rectify these low budget animations/scenes. It just bothered me so much to see so little effort. Even FEW1 was like this. Only the anime style cutscenes bring it to life and even then, it's still low quality compared to other game franchises. There is a reason why both FEW1 and this one took up less than 15-ish GB each meanwhile a game modified greatly like The Witcher 3 still ended up taking more than 32 GB. Heck even some Tales games were larger than these and they hard more variety to their animations. I don't think these games should be priced at 60 like those other ones when they clearly exert significantly less effort and are lower quality. Dragon's Dogma is less than $60 and had richer environments/scenes. I definitely experienced massive buyer's remorse with this game and outside of the Tellius games being port overed for the switch, I'm dropping this franchise. As far as spin offs go. Unless they price them appropriately at $30 or 40 they won't get me again with these low quality games. I expect more and that isn't unreasonable. Especially when other games franchises are priced at $60 and the effort in them matches or justifies that tag. I'm sad about this decision cause it'll mean less exposure to the stories I really like but Nintendo needs to step up with quality if they want to get away with $60 tags. Emphasis on spin offs. I'll stick with the core series
  8. Finished...that was exhausting. I want to continue but i'm sleepy and it is almost 4am my time. Here are some of my edits for quick reference. Please reach out to me if you find any errors or want to make suggestions. If you want to make edits yourself, have at it. 1. Added a paragraph with a little info for the Gift's page. A pretty minor tweak. 2. Adjusted a paragraph with new info in the Cooking page. I learned something while cooking and wanted to shed light on that. 3. Created a whole new "Camp" page. Added a chart with info pertaining to activity points and needed upgrades to level up your camp. 4. Created a whole new "Supply Depot" page. Added info and filled it out with details. Also explain how the stockpile resources mechanic works 5. Created a whole new "Volunteering" page. Added info and explained how to use the service along with a tip/piece of advice. I want to add a chart later showing character perference but i'm super tired and have been editing for almost 2 hours i think. I need to seriously sleep If anyone wants to take a crack at the page for character prefernce you'll need to either look at the data-mine or have 3 separate save files with all the characters unlocked on each path. The reason for that being that you'll need to view the activity itself by talking to the Chore Master and seeing who likes/dislikes each of those 5 activities. And the reason you need all 3 paths is cause (using an example) you can't see what volunteer activity Hubert likes/dislilkes while doing a play through on Azure Gleam since his icon won't show up while talking to the Chore Master. I do not have those save files since i overwrote them as i went along so i'm kinda screwed. Either that or you can put the info here in the thread and then someone who can make edits can go adjust it later. I'm going to bed now.
  9. I'll be tinkering around editing and adding info. If anybody spots errors please help me out by either pointing them out to me or fixing them if you have an account for editing. Please @ me with tips/advice to improve any pages. Also i spotted an error so i'm going to go ahead and fix it. Shoot me any questions regarding my edits.
  10. Just in case you don't want to read a whole bunch of info the short version (TL;DR) is this: Trade your smithing stones for mythril/umbra steel and sell them for profit. Assuming you have spare smithing stones and an abundance of ores/facilities materials. Now for the actually info and details below Okay so this is only taking into consideration you have the Supply Master facility maxed out with all upgrades, an overwhelming abundance of spare facility materials from multiple playthroughs as well as ores you don't need such as Venomstone or Arcane Crystals, and if you don't need said ores for upgrading any of your weapons and are starting to overflow past 999 of any one of them. So for my first few hundred hours into this game since i didn't know i'd be swiming in ores/facility materials, i use to trade any excess weapons for smithing stones by giving them to the Suppy Master but at some point i switched over and instead started selling them and i've been safely hovering around the millions of gold for quite a while (as i grind class exp with various units). I use to trade said smithing stones for the ores in particular that i did need but even at the point, i started to have too many stockpiled and i wasn't upgrading any particular weapons other than the uniques, relics, and regalia. With all that happening, i decided to figure out the best way to earn the most amount of money per material so i went back and forth between the store and supply master writing down the numbers of what you could sell them for to make the most profit. First point to note is that a Smithing Stone goes for 10 gold per unit. 2 Star (the only one is crude building materials) go for 25 gold 3 Star go for 50 gold 4 Star go for 75 gold 5 Star go for 100 gold So trading smithing stones at fully maxed out Supply Master for the various facility materials would be 1/4/7/10 (2 star and so on respectively) would net you profits of 15, 10 5, and breaking even by the 5th star facility material. I had checked to see if selling the facility materials would be more profitable than converting them over to smithing stones but then i had to check out the ores too. For the ores Venomstone sells for 20 gold, requires 5 S. stones which results in a 30 gold loss Black-Sand Steel and Arcane Crystal sells for 40 gold, requires 6 S. stones which results in a 20 gold loss Wootz Steel and Agarthium sells for 80 gold, requires 7 S. stones which results in a 10 gold profit Mythril and Umbral sells for 120 gold, requires 8 S. stones which results in a 40 gold profit So if you ever get to the point in which you have an overwhelming amount of ores that you don't need or the facility materials, you can trade them for smithing stones. Then turn those smithing stones into either Umbral of Mythril ore and sell that instead to net the most amount of profit. As i said earlier, i use to trade excess weapons for smithing stones which led to me having way too many but at some point now i just sell the spares i don't need. I don't know if it'd be more profitable to turn them into stones but i sell them directly to the Armorer cause it is less clicking on the screen as opposed to going to the Supply Master and then doing all the converting. Now i'm going to explain something that is irrevlant to this topic but should be useful info for anybody pertaining to the Supply Master so you can make the most of that npc. With only the 1st upgrade that unlocks the feature the S.M. can hold 9 materials and after every battle will stockpile 3 so it'd take 3 battles to get the message that the S.M. can't hold any more materials. After the 2nd upgrade they can hold up to 15 limit and gain 5 materials per battle so still takes 3 battles to be full. After the final upgrade it can hold 21 materials and gains 7 per battle so still 3 battles until they are full. The materials they can hold range from ores, food ingredients, to facility materials. The upgrade line for this is the top one where it states they'll gain materials periodically. So if you check back after 3 battles while grinding you can maximize picking up stuff. I typically tend to sell excess food ingredients once they go past 100 since i really don't need them. In fact if i wanted to get really picky (which i haven't) i'd sell all food stuff since i only make the same 5 dishes at the start of every chapter but meh... So now you know how to make the most use out of that npc. I should really update the wiki since i have an account but...i don't know how to create pages so i can't go put it over there.
  11. Okay another question, i know to take the descriptions of some stuff in this game with a grain of salt cause of some bugs/errors (such as Apex abilities, Pass ability from Trickster incorrectly listing it helps on perfect blocks instead of perfect dodges) but what about this ability. Doest the community know if it is any good? Innate Ability : Nullify Magic. How exactly does that work? It says nullifies enemie's offensive magic but does that mean all attacks from mages? Such as their y-string combo, x-string combo, and any spells they cast?
  12. I found a bow that i can't tell if it is good or not in the hands of the right character. I'm sure it isn't really all that up for dispute that the bow "The Inexhaustible" is a really good bow. It heals hp (amplifies that effect on Bernie for having Indech crest and hopefully Hanneman gets added in a later update if they ever even get around to updating this game which i'm assuming isn't gonna happen) and as it's secondary effect reduces cooldowns of combat arts by 50%. On top of it having good power/durability at base due to being a holy relic (silver icon) weapon. Now between Braves and Zoltan weapons having the next best base power/dura for not being a crest/holy weapon or unique, i found a Brave with Dexterity Factor Lv3 and Invoke Crest Effect Lv3 and i'm having a hard time figuring out if this is gonna be even better on Berndetta or not. Shamir, Ignatz, and Ashe are all crestless archers so it wouldn't work on them, and improving Bernie's proc on her crest sounds better than reducing cooldowns by 50%. What do y'all think? Especially late game when Bernie's dex is more than likely gonna be thru the roof.
  13. So i took a really long break for personal reasons but i'm back to the game again. I did want to upload some of my info to the wiki so i'll come back with a detailed post of most of my finding after some edits and then we can clean it up if necessary. I may go on break again for another short period of time but i do have some pretty interesting tidbits i've yet to see others discuss.
  14. Just for reference, when y'all say you are doing 1 to 120 runs, are you talking about doing multiple playthrus over and over again on higher difficulties to get them to max level or are any of you making use of the Records Keeper (RK) by just spamming a high level map filled with loads of exp to get the character up to 120? I see some people talk about doing multiple runs just simply for harvesting and farming the stat-boosters but i was always under the impression making use of the RK was better for farming exp even if it meant not gaining much in the way of rewards.
  15. Regarding the paragraph i bolded: YES! I know exactly what you mean. My play thru is currently sitting at a little over 200+ hours and only 80 hours (and that is being generous) of that has been in-battle. I averaged out my times to 10 minutes per battle times 480 battles and then adjusted it due to pausing. This game brought back the WORST part of 3 Houses. Way too much timee spent out of battle and micro-managing characters and etc. It is incredibly exhausting having to run all over the camp, talk to people, and interact with the various facilities with a janky @$$ camera having to be all close to people in their personal space just to get the cursor over their head so i can talk to them (like for real, you have to get within arm's reach... no wait, elbow's reach just to talk to them). Plus they decided to crowbar the ugliest largest map in the top right corner of the screen with no way of reducing it or getting rid of it. F**k the creators and designers who thought that was a good idea (or that running around a camp was a good idea). I miss Awakening, the Tellius series, and the gba FEs where everything was handled from a clean simple small menu. Fates is what kicked off this crap with "My Castle". If it wasn't for the fact that i don't have many other jrpgs queued I also would have dropped this. I got a feeling i won't be playing it past August so i'll look for something else to hold me over till Nov for Pokemon. In reference to the part underlined: I can tell what you are trying to say. Back on Hyrule Warriors, each move had a purpose. You had a strong to summon the weak point gauge, a strong atttack to deplete it, a strong for crowd clearing, and the other 3 or so were more or less for specfic situations. FEW1 had the same format for the most part but i do find the attacks in this game FEWH to be lacking that structure. We can really summon the stun gauge on command with a combo and not all classes have a good crowd clearing move. I get X3 is for depleting it and X4 is for crowd clearing but each class has different success with those. X2, and X5-7 are all pretty useless on this game and i'm not using that very much at all. Except a few classes have a good damage dealing X5 that is quick. If anything i think what draws me to this game is more or less the aesthetics. Next time, i'm going to exercise some patience and wait about a month or so after a new FE game drops and look at videos of it before buying. I'm having buyer's remose on this one but at the same time i can't turn it in so i'm just sorta going thru it. I got a few other reasons though...
  16. Thanks a bunch. I also saw it was recording my barrier breaks as well since that number is high. It would appear any achievement that keeps track of kills and such still keeps it documented even if you retreat and not complete the battle. I tested with the use elements to inflict damage achievements and got them. Plus the kill a certain enemy type with a corresponding battalion equipped. So yeah this is great news
  17. So I can't do it myself anymore so I'd like to outsource this to someone else willing to test. I want to believe that it was just an error or mistake but if someone else can confirm it happens for their save file too, then i supposed i stumbled onto someonthing pretty lucrative. Regarding the achievement for slaying the various giant monsters, there was one giant specific monster i seldomly bumped into during the random battles. Cause i wasn't going to get an S rank i actually restarted quite a few times but it would appear the game was keep tracking of how many times i kept slaying the wild demonic beast and when i got back to my base camp, i had achieved the max/final award for killing it despite me being back at Lv2 of the achievement for slaying 5. The achievements for slaying giants has 3 tiers. You unlock it for slaying it once, you get the achievement lv2 for slaying it 5 times, and then you get the achievement lv3 for slaying it 10 times. I could have sworn i was back at lv2 with 4/5 progress completed but when i got back to base came i shot up to 10/10 for the level 3 achievement. So if anyone could test this, i'd appreciate it. If it turns out that it wasn't an error i suppose this means anyone and everyone can get the last level 3 achievement for any giant beast provided they keep retreating. Just kill it and before the battle is done, retreat to the beginning of battle. If it wasn't an error, this'll make it easier to finish up the book regarding those specific achievements if anyone is having a hard time hunting these things. I rarely spawn the wild demonic beast and the giant wolf so this happened to make my night 😅
  18. To you and to all other users scrolling by, i'm also conducting another experiement and have more than half the results so i'll soon be posting so everyone can check it out. I'm researching class exp gains. Of all the variables i set out to test and know factor in here are some of the things i'm currently taking a stab at but will later provide the results here. Exp gain simply for be present on the battle (with no officer kills) with and without the knowledge gem, exp gain after killing a single officer with and without the K.G. and then subtracting the exp gain for participating, checking to see if there is an upper limit to officer kill exp gains, checking to see if exp gain is different if the enemy officer is lower, equal, or higher level than you, checking exp gains when inside a preferred class, and last but not least, checking if any of these values change when playing on normal/hard mode. This should help others cut back or at the very least caculate grinding in the most efficent way
  19. i don't know how to edit the graph itself so i'll leave that up to you. The head the column could be named "Level usage count" possibly as an example and underneath it the numbers could be like Lv2:5/Lv3:10 as a sample. We can edit the paragraph i added to the two separate pages and state simply that one can take it from level 1 to level 3 in one battlefield provided they have the durability for all the usages. As you suggested, we can also stipulate what the effects are of the chapter exp gain once we confirm them.
  20. Hmm....i'm thinking. So i'm trying to visualize it and think of how the random user would see it. So are you suggesting we make the graphs on each one wider by adding two more columns with the head of each column being listed as example "Usage to reach level 2" and "Usage to reach level 3" and then put the number underneath it? For a laptop/computer it could work, but for mobile phone users they'd have to start sliding their finger on the screen to reach the other end of the graph so they can see the columns. Also what are we going to add more columns for when they have the chapter effect of combat art experience increase gains suggesting other numbers? Or just add a paragraph at the top stating that when that effect is active, the numbers are cut in half?
  21. I don't mean to double post but i saw you edited so now I'm slightly atlering my response as well The game makes not mention of combat arts/spells being broken into tiers. You are choosing to word it as such and break it down like that for your own purposes. Wording it like that on a wiki isn't user friendly (by which i mean, the average person reading that will have to engage more in comprehending what they are looking at when they return back to looking at their game screen) And despite might increasing (they visibily add a little plus symbol for level 2 and another plus symbol at level 3) the word small, medium, and large don't go away. So now i ask, why do dislike the way i choose to word it? Because of the exceptions of self buffs and 3 spells? Or is this problem deeper than that? Are you unhappy with me making contributions to this game's wiki? Did you want to test this yourself and provide the info first like as if this is some kind of competition to fill out the wiki? Help me understand why you are challenging me please. I want to know because if you don't want to work together, i can stop posting.
  22. Hey look buddy. I asked VincentASM when the game was coming that i wanted an account so I could made edits and make contributions to this game's wiki page. 3 years from now a person is going to get this game for the first time and have loads of questions. I want people to come to serenes and literally have all the answers readily available to them. I like conducting experiments and researching. I also love this franchise and would be happy to contribute to the community and help out cause i come here often and use the info here while playing so i sure do appreciate all the effort past people put into filling out these pages on numerous FE games. I'd like to do the same thing, but i don't want to do that if i'm gonna get challenged every step of the way. I had asked when the game came out if anyone was going to lead this project (filling out the wiki) and if anyone was going to take charge by assigning us tasks to research so that we don't overlap or waste time with multiple experiments that have the same goal. Now all i can say is that, i won't come here and provide info unless i've tested it RIGOROUSLY and replicated the results. I do in fact use the scientific method and also had numerous pages filled out in contributions to the first Fire Emblem Warriors game so this isn't my first time playing a musou or nintendo brand warriors game. You can be confident in my results cause i wouldn't give them out unless I tested them heavily. People who are likely to stop by and check out serenes's wiki page are likely going to read that data we provide so I will be very clear in how i articulate my words so people can read and comprehend the info we have. So can we work together? Not this nitpicking over word choice or how things are phrased. Cause both of us would have had to mention and stipulate the few exceptions in combat arts/spells. Saying the durability cost would have or could be misleading because the displayed number could be altered if someone already ate a meal at the camp or has the armsthift ability equipped and then went into their convoy/charater page to view details of the combat art/spell (regardless if they are in camp or are already deployed onto the battlefield). I already thought of this ahead of time (seeing an altered number). If a person who is already the type to come to a wiki such as serenes or a stranger using google gets directed here, after they read the page's details on leveling and see the info, they are going to go back to looking at their game and see their move's details and then proceed to grind so they can max out their stuff. I worded it carefully with that in mind so they can just focus on the grind . I use wiki(s) and guides often so I know what is considered being worded friendly and simple and i make contributions to another site known as fandom on other game franchises so i really put effort into tailoring info for other people's consumption/use. So i ask again, can we work together?
  23. But if we list this way, that will exclude Agnea's Arrow, War Strike, and the exclusive CAs gained from the weapons such as Eviscerate since they follow different durability costs but they do still have a listing of Large in might. You'd have to add in a paragraph stipulating that those that cost more still follow the same rules as those that start off costing 20 at base, where as i'd have to add a paragraph stipulating that self buffs plus 3 spells should be treated as equals to others. Either way we still reach the same result. The only thing left to be tested at this point is which i'm currently working on, the bonus multiplier from the strategy and the unique combat arts gained from weapons. I've already tested the theory with a handful of characters all using the same named combat arts/spells and kept getting the exact same result. You need 5 and 10 to get to level 2 and 3 respectively for small might, you need 10 and 15 uses to get to level 2 and 3 respectively for medium might, and then you need 15 and 20 uses to get to level 2 and 3 respectively for large might. What led me to my hypothesis that it was tied to might listing, was more or less just a starting point for me to start my experiments. It really isn't that important. All that mattered was i had a starting point, and then after numerous experiments, reached a conclusion. I got to a point where i could share the data with others since it was tested rigorously that way, when others set out to accomplish it, they reach the same result; a maxed out combat art/spell at level 3 with exact number of usages known to save time while grinding
  24. I haven't gotten that strategy mentioned yet during the beginning of the chapter so I've yet to run the numbers against it but i hope what you say is true since it'll help people grind easier if they just saving leveling for when that chapter arrives and you can select it. When i first set out to test the leveling requirements for CA/spells I initially broke it into 3 categories in my head. Because putting aside the cost of durability (which could be discounted from numerous sources eg: the level it is currently at, food discount if it is applicable, the ability from the Archer class) they all at least had that in common. Thus I started to count how many times i used them per battle and saw a pattern. I then set out to create my hypothesis it was based off might listing. At a later time when i got my first buff Mortal Struggle i had to look at that one and ask myself what did it have in common with the other ones and saw the durability cost was similar to a Large might CA/spell. As such, i treated it as a large might and saw it had the same usage count to level it up. Once i had tested these same combat arts/spells on numerous characters, i finally reached the conclusion the game had put them into these 3 brackets based off might. I'd also like to add, that another way i set to test the usage count was the same, was to enter 1 battle and use the theorized number of times exactly (not one more or one less) and watch it go from an empty exp meter at level 1 all the way to the max level 3. So since you can skip using it during level two (with the discount to durability it would otherwise offer), i figured if a person who is near end-game and has a forged weapon with 100s of durability and access to a map where you can pick up purple jars, a person can set out to max out combat art/spells in one battle each as long as they have the total number of uses in mind and reach that number. I don't think we should compare it against durability cost since that can be clearly be muddied with all the numerous available discounts (the level it is at, food, and the abililty from archer). Instead we should compare it against might listing and simply state that self buffs are treated as a large might, and that the 3 spells (Ward, Silence, and Restore) are also treated as large might for leveling purposes.
  25. Well, it seems there are currently known only 5 combat arts (one for each weapon type) and 2 spells (Agnea's Arrow and Quake from Black/Dark respectively) that exceed the 20 durability cost but they do still follow the same leveling requirments as any other Large might combat art (i can atest to the axe one and at a later time i'll also get the gauntlet one and sword one maxed out). As for self buffs or spells that don't have a might listing, but do cost the same as CA/spell that is listed as Large, we can just note in the page that they are treated as equals to the aforementioned for leveling purposes. Durability cost in itself doesn't change the requirements for leveling purpose (going to level 2 and then subsequently level 3) cause at the end of the day, you still have to use it to level it up, and i've been keeping close track and counting how many times. However i'd also like to note, i've been keeping the food buff numbers also written down as to how much they discount. The meal that says it slightly reduces takes off 2, and the meal that says "somewhat" reduces it takes off 4 durability. Then there is the matter of the ability known as Armsthrift which also takes about 2 durability off the cost. However as Anomalocaris mentioned, i've also encountered odd numbers (not even numbers) so i've yet to figure how how discounts work when it comes to the food/ability combined. I will say, i've been doing most of my training with discounts to durability LATELY but when i first started documenting these things, i made sure to not have the ability equipped or the food in effect.
