  1. Tomas!!! Genius! Green hair remains best hair. That's day 2 sorted for me.
  2. Merric on the first day. I'm considering just picking a new green haired character each day and just going with that. Green hair is best hair.
  3. I never knew I needed a Gaiden remake until I saw that trailer. I *NEED* it now!
  4. Happy birthday!

  5. Love the offensive Magic users! I know a great deal about him screams he will be arrogant stereotype but his supports so far haven't shown that side of him at all. His Camilla and Foleo support show him to be a great deal more empathetic than the arrogant thing which everyone is tacking on to. For my part I hope that his character isnt the arrogant stereotype, I like it when the look of a character doesn't match the personality and it would be nice that the most studious sibling is the one that serves to remind us about books and their covers..
  6. Brilliant! That did remind me a great deal of a comically censored porn edit which can be found on youtube HERE (probably NSFW, I mean it is censored but... yeah just in case probably NSFW)
  7. Very true on the Archers thing. I know they are working up the class a bit with Fates but they have 25 years of Archers being a bit underwhelming to overcome. Takumi does need to put the grump away though.
  8. ^ This. Also yeah I gotta say in all the pre release material so far he's looked properly grumpy nearly all the time. I don't demand rainbows and unicorns all the time but damn Takumi crack a smile once in a while.
  9. Apoplogies if this has been answered already somewhere, the amount of information out there is a little disorganised and constantly in flux: I know that the children are attached to the male parent this time around, however what is the factor that determines male or female Kanna? Previously the child of the avatar was of the opposite gender to the avatar, is that still the case do we know? Again, I'm sorry if there is an answer out there somewhere already and I have just managed to miss it.
  10. I don't like fan service or sexualised content when there's nothing else to go with it. If its part of a larger product and isn't really the central focus of the product then I'm cool with it, I'm an adult I can see something a little racey without my mind being blown. My touchstone on this is Game of Thrones (GoT), it includes massive amounts of boob and sex ... well south park kinda nailed it. But for GoT it comes as an addition to a massive story, complex characters, amazing fight scenes, incredible sets and just everything that is amazing about GoT. I can watch GoT without it causing me to have a conniption fit so yeah I'll be cool with most things. If FE:Fates is literally all about the my castle stuff then that would bother and disappoint me, but so far the fan service seems to be not part of what i consider the bulk of the game and in fact much of (but not all) the fan service seems to be optional and what I have seen so far doesn't seem to be outside of what other games have done in the past to varying degrees. So yeah, some bits im ok with, other bits I'll live with.
  11. Male Kanna or Zoffy. Foleo i actually like that there is a character who appears to be basically cross-dressing. If you are going to have a couple of same sex relationships you might as well have a cross-dresser in the mix as well.
  12. On the censorship thing - i don't think its a freedom of speech issue at all. I think its more likely that a commercial entity (Nintendo) will consider how to tailor their product to different markets.to maximise sales and not generate negative press on like Fox News or in British papers, two places that will go indiscriminately bonkers over just about anything. I choose to believe that any changes Nintendo make to IF/Fates prior to a western release are changes that they deem helpful to the products success for some reason. Of course, that doesn't mean Nintendo always get those changes right, or judge their audience correctly every time. Just as a small tangent: Isn't the "freedom of speech" protection only something that protects the individual from government censorship/interference? Freedom of speech allows you to say pretty much anything and not have the government arrest you, but it doesn't protect you from criticism or rebuke. So If I were to repeatedly say something rude or disparaging about all women, the government can't arrest me, but the Serenes Forest community can (and probably should) call me an asshole because Freedom of Speech doesn't protect me from being called out for being an asshole. I'm not a civil rights expert, that's just my understanding of it anyway, sorry for the tangent.
  13. I really appreciate all the replies. Just to clarify, I have no issue with someone having concerns or criticism and then expressing them - I have just been surprised today by the sheer persistence and scale of the negative reaction i exposed myself to on the subreddit earlier. I haven't been following the pre-release information closely due to work commitments, so to go from a position of relative ignorance to today's subreddit was eye opening. I really really genuinely was starting to think that everyone following the game was fully and completely up in arms about .... well... everything.
  14. So I've been at work all day and Serenes Forest on the internet traffic would pull up some questions about proper usage of time. However, Reddit is considered acceptable (don't ask, it just is and I gave up trying to figure out why). So as a result I have had the Fire Emblem Subreddit up all day at work and read it every so often during a quiet period during the day. Now I am well up for the newest game, I genuinely enjoy playing many of the previous games and love that a new one is on the horizon but after a day or reading the Fire Emblem subreddits reaction to early reports of the I feel like I'm the only person on earth who still wants to play the game? Is it just me? I mean am i allowed to still like the game? I saw one guy complaining that a desert map looked vapid. Isn't vapid sort of a desert's thing? Someone else was bemoaning how the story looked dull - fully admitted they didn't understand a word of written or spoken Japanese. I swear to you I saw one person complain about the artwork being worse than Awakening, and that they should get the old artist back. Someone else said the battle gameplay didn't look like "a proper Fire Emblem". After a day of this, I'm starting to wonder if I'm properly missing something? Am i being Bamby-esq in my naivety when I looked at some of the Fates stuff out today and thought "looks ok" and not got the urge to burn the internet down? Seriously am I utterly missing something?
