  1. For me, I have three games that occupy the top spot because I find it quite hard to put one above the other. (That said, still need to play Thracia 776). Genealogy of the Holy War: What can I say, best Fire Emblem game from a story perspective. In terms of gameplay, I personally love using fast and highly mobile units so in the Horse Emblem of the Fire Emblem games, this is my kind of game. It obviously isn't the most balanced of games as a result, but it highlights all of the aspects I like about Fire Emblem. Binding Blade: This game always had a bit of a mysterious and challenging aspect to it because it was the one GBA game that gave me the hardest time when I first discovered Fire Emblem. FE7 and FE8 weren't that challenging after I got used to the series, but FE6 always gave me a run for my money and before I was able to get to the end but didn't get the "good ending". Roy's growth as a lord was quite awesome to see when he finally promotes and starts one-round KO'ing Maneketes and he was my favorite character to play in Melee back in the day. Path of Radiance: Ike's coming of age story and the many heavy themes in the game are what highlights this game. Definitely the easiest Fire Emblem game difficulty-wise especially when I can just send Kieran, Jill, Marcia, and Titania ahead to decimate the enemy, but that's the fun of Blitzkrieg Emblem to me at least. To think that Path of Radiance touched on prejudice themes back in 2005 before all the recent IRL discussions and whatnot surrounding that is pretty cool if you ask me.
  2. Not sure if anyone has attempted this or asked this in the thread already, but does anyone know how to apply this translation patch on a ROM to be played on an Android emulator? Would be open to suggestions, appreciate it! EDIT: Never mind, figured it out.
  3. David Luiz is a good player but can get overly emotional on the field which can easily lead to lapses in defense (see: Germany vs. Brazil, Barcelona vs. PSG). He would still be a starting CB in a lot of good teams in Europe, but definitely not in the talks of "best CB" at the moment.
  4. Is it possible that the OP or a mod could edit the agreed-upon list in the top post and then designate a particular post in the thread as a start to a new discussion? I am suggesting this because this is a method I have seen used pretty effectively over at Smogon University in terms of creating viability rankings for competitive Pokemon within each Smogon tier. The OP would have the list on the first post and will keep updating it pending discussion from others in the thread. It also helps in terms of allowing new people participate in the conversation in that they can jump immediately to the post (ex. this post is #271) and participate in the conversation as well. Hope this helps :)
  5. Hmm what about it is wrong from your perspective before I go ahead and start reading the thread? Hmm yeah, I can see that for those characters, but I am more curious about a more holistic list. I guess that's a good start.
  6. Is it too early to be asking about a tier list for the characters in all three paths? Curious if there is one around and if this has been asked already, I would greatly appreciate a link to the discussion / list.
  7. Ah Binding Blade, that was a good yet frustrating game to play mainly because the Sword of Seals had a nice 20 uses. Anyways, welcome to the Forest! Who is your favorite character from Binding Blade?
  8. Welcome to the forums! Kaze is indeed best ninja in the series. Hope you enjoy your stay! :)
  9. Ayy nice! I actually just moved to the Midwest recently so I don't know if I can call myself from the Midwest yet, but it's been pretty cool thus far. And I just noticed your username. That is awesome. Kieran for best cavalier in Path of Radiance and of course, Keira Knightey LOL. Ah I wake up at like 7 AM every morning to prep and commute to work. Such is the life of a real world person :/ Ah nice! What kind of tech do you want to get into? Haha indeed it is quite amusing to see a lot of folks who are older than me play this game and talk about it in the chat. I believe someone shared a thread from /r/FireEmblem where someone turned Elise into an Oni Savage with rather hilarious results. Corrin: "Tfw my baby sister is more swole than me." Maybe it's your time to ask folks to start playing Fire Emblem Fates since now it's becoming more and more mainstream? Thanks fren! Hope to see you around :D
  10. Heh yeah Smeargle is stupid like that. I actually have one of those but I despise every time I use it so I end up not using Smeargle on my most of my teams. If you want to know about some local VGC events going on in Illinois, then check out the Illinois VGC Crew Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/420692914745816/ Rebecca, Matt, and Suzanne are the three TOs in Illinois who organize a ton of great tournaments here. I unfortunately can't go to some of them because they require having a car :( but if you do have one, then by all means go haha. What is your favorite team that you have used so far this year? I think my favorite team was the one I borrowed (aka stole) from Wolfe Glick who won Florida Regionals. The team was Mega Salamence, Telepathy Dialga, Primal Kyogre, Choice Band Landorus-T, Focus Sash HP Water Thundurus, and Ferrothorn. Twas a really fun team especially with Choice Band Explosion from Landorus-T.
  11. Oh cool! Have you been to local premier challenges? They're pretty fun and there's quite a lot of solid players who come out to them. I personally wish Dark Void and Primals didn't exist for this format which would make it a lot more fun, but it has grown on me. If you ever want to battle, hit me up on Pokemon Showdown! Same username on there as on here haha.
  12. Ohh I see. I wake up around 7 AM for work, never thought I would after my college sleep schedule. Thanks! What kind of work do you do? My office is actually pretty chill about when to go to the office as long as we work for 8 hours haha.
  13. Wondering if anyone here plays VGC or participates in the tournament circuit. If you do play, what are your thoughts on the current format and metagame? Which tournaments are you planning on going to?
  14. Thanks! Hope the day improves despite it being slow. You just woke up? That's impressive depending on what time zone you are in.
  15. Hello everyone! I am Daniel and I have been a Fire Emblem fan for quite awhile courtesy of a friend who recommended I try Fire Emblem Blazing Sword on emulator. Another friend introduced me to Serenes Forest around when Awakening came out which I found to be quite informative and with Fates coming out, I figure I ought to participate a bit in the forums as well. In terms of my progress in Fates, I finished Birthright on Hard mode and currently on Chapter 12 of Conquest Hard mode. It's been pretty fun thus far and I am glad to be playing Fire Emblem once again. I am looking forward to getting through Conquest and Revelation to see the entire Fates story unfold. As for what I do, if the title didn't give a hint already, I do software consulting and my workplace actually has a Skype chat where we talk about Fire Emblem and it's pretty fun! It's hilarious when people talk about who they wanna ship and whatnot for the series. How is everyone's day today? :) EDIT: Didn't occur to me that there was a template, probably should pinned posts...heh. Online name: Heliosan Real name: Daniel DoB: June 29th Favourite FE Game: Blazing Sword, first ever Fire Emblem title that made me love the series.
