  1. Got into it through FE7, because I liked Marth and Roy in Melee and mistook Eliwood for Roy (and also kept wondering when Roy was gonna show up. The ending cameo surprised me a bit). It left a great impression on me, and I started looking into the rest of the series. Gonna finally get started on replaying FE9 tonight. Been meaning to do that for months now. Happy birthday Fire Emblem
  2. "I will erase you!" Mostly because it's the one that I hear every time he pops Vengeance at full HP (and it's always full HP, for some reason, I've never seen it happen when he had less than full HP for some reason), which happens way too often. And then people get erased anyway because he crits on top of the pointless Vengeance.
  3. I could agree about Orochi and Niles having not-that-great Personals, but worst? Not so sure there, they're mostly just useless, never actively detrimental to their viability as units. Yukimura's isn't amazing, no, and it doesn't belong on a best personal skill list or anything, but it's +5 hit with no negative effect besides having to field Yukimura (and maybe being close to units? I dunno, I never used him), so not really worst-skill material if you ask me. Peri's is a nice thing to have (maybe I'm biased because it let me kill Ryoma on her join chapter on Conquest), just requires Azura or Galeforce (or both) to get her another turn or two with her boosts. Hisame and Kiragi you may have a point about, though if you never wait with them then at worst they're just not useful. And Azura fixes the main problem with all three of these (not being able to take advantage of them during Player Phase since you've ended your turn in the course of activating their Personal Skills), so they're not the worst, just require a bit of work. Kana... At worst it's just useless if you take her out of Hoshido/Nohr Noble. If only her Personal also let her equip Dragonstones regardless of current class... Saizo... Yeah, but it's free damage, and unless you moved him after all of your healers and anyone who could Shelter him, he can be healed back up or Rescued or Sheltered out of danger. Not a great thing, but not the worst thing either. Also, not sure if it stacks with Poison Strike, but I feel like it ought to, which would make it slightly better, I think. Arthur... I've defended this one in this thread, but to be honest, I dunno anymore. I wouldn't say it's the absolute worst skill (Izana), but it's not great unless you're running a whole bunch of crit-happy units and want some guaranteed crits or something. Or you've got Percy around to mitigate it. Or both. And I'm not sure it's worth it. Still not the absolute worst skill to me, but it's in the running. Kaden... I've never noticed this effect. I'd expect it to stack, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't either, to be honest. Still, it gives the Live to Serve effect to people without Live to Serve, which I guess is alright. Felicia & Jakob... Yeah, these would've been so much better with one simple change: Just have it so it works with Corrin/Kamui, as well as S/A+ partners and their children. Still, as it is, it's at least useful for someone. Silas... No, Silas is the one who benefits from his skill, not Corrin/Kamui. And it's quite a benefit for Corrin/Kamui's HP entering Vantage range. I'm sure this has been stated elsewhere in the thread, but does Corrin/Kamui need to be paired up with Silas as well as on <50% HP for Vow of Friendship to work? Because I remember hearing somewhere that it didn't require those two to be paired up, but I dunno for sure. As for Izana, yeah Peacebringer is the worst skill. I'm sure there's some use for the Quiet Strength-that-also-lowers-damage-dealt-to-enemies (maybe for feeding kills to lower-level units?), but why bother with it when you can just use Sakura and have the actual Quiet Strength, which is pretty much superior since it doesn't hamper her effectiveness in combat (since, if Izana is attacking an enemy, they're probably inside of Peacebringer's lowered-damage radius). At least Arthur's Misfortunate, as not-quite-great as it is, isn't upstaged by another character having the same thing but better. This is the worst skill, at least as far as I can tell.
  4. Was not expecting "You're going down, scumbag!" from Elise (maybe from Arthur tho; dunno why exactly, I just think it'd sound funny from him). It was kinda funny to hear, so I voted for it.
  5. Oh yeah, Ballistician exists! That could be a good thing! Not 100% sure about it, since if I recall correctly its defenses aren't good, but it has plenty of power, and hey, free ballista whenever you want, so that could be a neat option. Still, maybe pack a Mini Bow for when you need to counterattack. I'd still go Master Ninja (get Lethality) > Mechanist (debuff weapons be great, Replicate's neat too), possibly > Adventurer if you had her marry Niles (primarily for Movement +1) and > Master of Arms via Hana A+ (to grab Seal Strength & Life and Death, seems like a not-too-terrible idea to me), then maybe Ballistician after all of that (so you can have Lethality, Replicate and maybe Movement +1 on top of the Ballistician-exclusive Movement+1-and-no-terrain-costs-for-movement skill so you can have a highly mobile bow-user), but you can go however you want, I suppose. That's just how I'd go about it. Though if you're on Birthright, just omit the Adventurer part, and maybe marry her to Azama for Priestess so you can get Renewal. You lose one point of movement, but you'll be more survivable thanks to Renewal (not sure if Renewal's affected by Optimistic, though).
  6. I haven't used Setsuna (Mozu works out better for me stat-wise when I make her an archer, though even when I don't Takumi shows up soon afterward and relegates Setsuna to the bench), so what I'm about to say is purely theoretical. Just keep that in mind. Setsuna could maybe work as a Master Ninja (she'd still be fragile, and Master Ninja is not a class that is good for taking physical hits, but she'd be really fast and get debuffing weapons so she wouldn't need to score kills a lot) or maybe a Mechanist (a bit slower, but a bit more durable, and Setsuna retains the use of bows in this class, plus hey, it gives Replicate, which is a good thing, I think). Probably Mechanist more, since Setsuna gets to keep using bows and has a bit more defense (though a bit less resistance, but it's still probably serviceable) and additional movement. As for classes she can get through A+ supports, she can get Falcon Knight off Hinoka (she does get Kinshi Knight off of this, but she can already get Kinshi Knight because Archers can promote directly to that), Swordmaster & Master of Arms off Hana (not sure I'd leave her in either of these for her final class, though the skills from these could be nice (mostly Seal Strength so she doesn't get murdered on enemy phase and maybe Astra for free Dual Guards when it procs, though if you feel like playing risky Life and Death could be for you)), and (3rd route only) Hero & Bow Knight from Selena (Hero's Axebreaker could be kinda useful: Bow Knight could work as a good final class for Setsuna, since it has the second-most movement range out of any of her possible classes (second only to Falcon & Kinshi Knight; they all have 8 move, but Falcon & Kinshi can fly so I think they can technically move farther) and gives a close-range weapon in swords if you wanted to use swords). If we include S supports, the options expand considerably, but if marrying Azama gives the Priestess class (I think it does), that could be an option. It'd give her additional utility via staff use and Renewal for self-healing (for when she does take a hit) while keeping the ability to use bows (though I think it'd only go up to B rank). Personally, I'd go either Mechanist (good movement range, great weapon selection, not too terribly fragile compared to the other options), Kinshi Knight (largest movement range, retains bows, can also use lances if you want to, but is vulnerable to archers and maybe Beast Killers (dunno for sure on that one, sorry)), and Priestess (I just covered this option in the previous sentence). But I wouldn't know for certain.
  7. I have a few. Not good ones, but still. I gave my Ophelia a Mjolnir named "Radiant Dawn" because I forgot that it was a lightning spell and not a fire/light spell (though if I ever get enough Ginnungagaps, I'll forge one and call that Radiant Dawn instead), and a Calamity Gate named "Demon Head" because that's what it looks like to me. She also had a Malevolent Text called "Dusk Grimoire" at one point. Also I gave my Odin a katana named "Demonspanker" because I remembered that word from an Awakening support and I counted and it was long enough to trigger Aching Blood. Also Takumi has a Spy's Yumi called "Long Shot" because I wanted to rename it Longbow but changed my mind halfway through. And Arthur got an Arthur's Axe called "FOR JUSTICE!!" because it just felt right.
  8. I never hear Sakura's crit quotes, since I handed her a Shining Bow as soon as I remembered I had one (and I never saw crits out of her when she was using yumis, I mostly used her to shoot fliers and mages and other things that can't hit back). Still, if I had to pick one, I'd go with "I'm sorry about this!" simply because it's the one I heard the one time she did crit for me. That'd probably work better as a post-victory line, haha.
  9. Personally, there are 3 skill I think are best, at least as far as I'm concerned: Sakura's Quiet Strength is great for defending, or just letting a bunch of enemies charge into death by counterattack, while making it easier for your defender to survive to see the next Player Phase. Maybe it's just how I play, but taking a bit less damage in an area large enough to avoid enemies being able to shoot Sakura over my other units is extremely valuable for me. On a related note, Elise's Lily's Poise is almost better than Quiet Strength, at least for me. It's good when 2-range enemies don't exist, but when they're around, I can't have Elise in a position where she can get hit (I have yet to see an Elise who can take a non-magical hit). Still, the buff is beautiful, so it's not a bad skill, just a bit more difficult for me to use than Quiet Strength. Or, Azura's Healing Descant. Amaterasu-lite is always nice. Does it stack with Amaterasu? Because I want to say it does (in which case it's even better, since Azura can grab that off the Kinshi Knight line without A+\S supports), but I dunno for certain. If it does though, then it can be upgraded to a free Renewal with larger range, which is just amazing. Makes Azura more useful too, which is nice, since I don't like using non-combat units unless they can heal. Of these, I'd probably pick Quiet Strength (less damage taken is less damage taken, and it has a larger area than Lily's Poise), since it doesn't require upgrading to be amazing (like Healing Descant, which is okay but not great until you add Amaterasu to it) or leave Sakura vulnerable as often (like Lily's Poise, which sometimes requires leaving Elise more vulnerable than I'd like to in order to use it, though if you could make Elise into a tank this'd probably be my pick). Not necessarily the best skill, just the best one for me. Honorable mentions (a handful of skills I like, but don't really prefer to the above three): Ryoma's Bushido, Takumi's Competitive, and Corrin's Supportive are all good. Bushido and Competitive are limited a bit by the fact that only Ryoma and Takumi benefit from them, while Corrin's is for everyone (except for Corrin) but requires a C Support (not too hard to get, I don't think, but it's still a bit limited). I'm sorry if this was mentioned in the thread, but does Supportive stack with Bushido & Competitive? Because that would be beautiful. Peri's Bloodthirst is a great thing, in fact it's the main thing that made me use her over Silas initially (that, and I misunderstood how Silas's skill worked), and it let me kill Ryoma on Chapter 12 on my second run of it (first time through, I just took one look at my chances of dealing any damage to Ryoma, saw everyone'd get doubled to death and just ran through the exit). It even boosts Magic, so you can make her a Sorceror (or maybe a Dark Knight) without losing Bloodthirst's power bonus. Overall, it's a nice skill, though it's probably much better if you bring Azura (so she can give Bloodthirst!Peri a chance to move and kill something). Finally, Anna's Personal (I'm forgetting what its name is at the moment, sorry) seems like it'd be very good to have on Conquest (good to get around limited money problems, if you get lucky), or for grinding on the other two routes (no one's gonna say no to more money, right?). Not a skill that makes anyone more survivable, or stronger, but it's nice to have anyway. Just my thoughts on the matter. All of them.
  10. All of those are good choices... Honestly, I'd go Miracle for certain. It's going to be necessary with Elise's poorer Defense (the stat, her Resistance should do fine), so you might find yourself rolling the dice on a Miracle or miss, and it's good to have on squishies like Elise (or for Effie, if you didn't check enemy weapons and someone has a Hammer). As for the other choices, I'm not 100% sure which you should go with, they're all good choices. Luna is pretty useful for both Elise and Effie (halved Defense/Resistance is rarely not useful, though sometimes it's overkill but that's not a bad thing). Sol provides the least for Effie (she's a General, she's not going to take so much damage as to require Sol unless you send her up against mages or something), but a hell of a lot more for Elise (who, when she eats a hit, will probably need healing fast, which Sol can provide). Aether combines Sol and Luna (giving you two hits per skill activation), but if I recall correctly doesn't activate as often (Skill x0.5, as opposed to Skill x1 for Sol/Luna, right?). It's a bit of a middle ground between Sol and Luna, and I'd maybe recommend it, but it won't activate as often as the skills it is composed of (if I'm right about that, anyway, if I'm wrong then it's just straight up better). Rend Heaven gives bonus damage based on the enemy's stats (dunno the specifics, sorry), and it activates more than the other skills (Skill x1.5, vs Skill x1 for Sol/Luna and Skill x0.5 for Aether). It's nice to get higher damage sometimes, and it'll happen more than the other skills, but I'm not sure I'd want to give up the utility of Sol/Luna/Aether for a bit more damage. To be honest, I'd go with Sol. Luna and Rend Heaven are nice, but Sol/Aether can restore your HP, which Elise probably wants more, and of those two choices, I'd go Sol because I can't foresee magical-sword-girl-Elise or Effie requiring the Luna portion of Aether, and because Sol has a higher activation chance, so you'll see Elise (and Effie) self-heal more often. But that's just how I feel. Aether could work too, if you need more power and multi-attacks (which I forgot to mention above, should fill the Dual Guard meter with each hit, like Astra does), and don't mind the lower activation rate. It's definitely more useful if you feel you're not dealing enough damage.
  11. So, I have a castle too. It's a bit of a work in progress (still haven't beaten Revelation), but here it is. Address: 17575-50244 74279-02498 Revelation/Valla Castle Avatar Name: Kirby Castle Name: Dream Land Food Resource: Berries & Rice Mineral Resource: Lapis & Amber It's supposed to be kinda hardish, but I doubt it'll challenge most people here (I'm on Chapter 21 of Revelation, and I've done some grinding & skill-buying, and I tried to make something difficultish, but it's probably not too tough if you're at the same point) I have skills, too, if you can beat the castle (doubt you'll have too many problems with that...), so when you win, you can have... MU/Avatar/Kamui/Corrin (Kirby): Hoshidan Unity | Nohrian Trust | Aegis | Renewal | Vantage (Not up, but also has Dragon Fang, Sol, Pavise, Dragon Ward, Lunge, Shurikenbreaker, Tomebreaker, Quixotic, Nobility) Hana: Death Blow | Vantage | Pavise | Astra | Miracle (Not up, but also has Duelist's Blow) Takumi: Skill +2 | Quick Draw | Dragon Fang | Certain Blow Leo: Malefic Aura | Heartseeker | Seal Magic | Vengeance Sakura: Miracle | Counter | Countermagic | Amaterasu | Renewal (Not up, but also has Rally Luck) Elise: Rally Resistance | Resistance +2 | Demoiselle | Nohrian Trust Ophelia: Vantage | Death Blow | Malefic Aura | Heartseeker | Vengeance (Not up, but also has Nohrian Trust) Xander: Shelter | Elbow Room | Defender Ryoma: Duelist's Blow | Astra | Vantage | Lancebreaker Benny: Defense +2 | Natural Cover | Renewal | Sol I have other characters too, but those are the ones who'll be up for now. Also, I have the level-3 armories and shops, if you need Master/Heart Seals and don't have level-3 shops yet. Please visit, if I have something that might interest you.
  12. Alright, she's there! My castle is Dreamland, and the address is 17575-50244 74279-02498 Hopefully that helps!
  13. It does? I honestly didn't know that. Do any other classes do that, to your knowledge?Haha, I remember those movies! And, well, I still don't think Arthur has the worst skill. You can work around it, and it does have some beneficial effect (even if it's not the best thing, being able to crit a bit more often is nice to have sometimes, especially if you're using a Killing Edge or something like that) so it's not the worst. At least, not to me. After more thought, I'd say Izana's is the worst. Entirely because Sakura exists, and Quiet Strength is literally Peacebringer minus the part where enemies take less damage, so Peacebringer becomes completely pointless in Hoshido, and even in Nohr it's probably not that useful since enemies would be benefiting from it without positioning your units pretty well (if only it were adjacent allies/enemies...). Even Dwyer's is only nonexistent most of the time, as opposed to actively detrimental. It even makes Izana a lesser unit, since he's probably going to be attacking enemies who are inside of his Peacebringer aura, so he automatically deals less damage from the start. But I never bothered with Izana, so I dunno, maybe he's secretly great somehow.
  14. Ah, I see.I don't think Kaze would work. Wouldn't he just give Ninja? Also, you could just grab the skills from someone else's castle (I've got an Elise with Nohrian Trust if you want it, since I got lucky and found one). Might take some searching tho, probably easier to use your method.
  15. Yeah, Effie's a great idea. Gives Elise more survivability, and gives Effie more speed (assuming she doesn't have Wary Fighter, I think this is a good thing), so it's beneficial for both! (I'm assuming Effie is a General here, so maybe I was wrong about some of that given your Effie could be something else) Camilla could work too, primarily for the +1 movement so she's a bit more mobile (not sure what else Wyvern promotions give as bonuses, sorry).I thought you might be pairing her up with Ryoma (is there anyone else who could give Elise Samurai classes? Besides a Corrin, I mean), actually. Would've explained why she didn't have the Levin Sword (since Raijinto would cover 2-range). Also, why does this require a lot of restarts and completions?
  16. I suppose that's true, though I do have a couple of questions: Why do Spear Masters suffer the full brunt of the drop? Also, what's a Zurg?Either way, I just don't see Arthur's as making him much of a liability (5 Dodge doesn't feel like all that much), at least not so much as his horrid Luck is. And in any case, it still gives you something. Dwyer's is still worse to me, since it doesn't even give you anything in a large part of the game. Also, I kinda wanna mention Izana's, despite never actually having used him. -2 damage to allies in 2 spaces is nice, -2 damage to enemies in 2 spaces, not so much. It's just Sakura's personal, except worse because it's not limited to your team. Mainly I'd nominate it for its redundance (since, as I just said, Sakura has this except better).
  17. Well, Miracle is really more of a last resort for not dying than anything. I wouldn't expect it (or Pavise/Aegis, since Elise's Skill is a bit lower than average) to be especially reliable (though it would probably be alright, I think Elise has higher-than-normal luck), and you certainly shouldn't be betting on Miracle saving your life, but it's good to have when you need it.Levin Sword is weaker than the Iceblade, I just suggested it because Elise is fragile and 2-range could help keep her alive (or at least let her retaliate against mages/archers/ninja). Another question: Will Elise be paired up with someone? If so, who? Because I could see running Nohrian Trust on Elise and giving her partner Astra/Miracle/Pavise/Aegis (not necessarily all of those) to free up some room for whatever non-activating (stuff that doesn't have an activation rate, like Vantage) skills you want to put on her. (Nohrian Trust is also hacks-only, but you can get it through other people's Castles, so it's cool, at least to me) Just a thought.
  18. There are a few I have problems with. In theory, Selena's is amazing; it's two crits in a row! However, I can think of very few situations where an enemy can survive the first crit, so... Well, I wouldn't call it the worst, but it's definitely not among the best, at least to me. Saizo's would be a beautiful thing if it didn't damage him too. Or if it hit enemies two spaces away. As it stands, however... I can't send this guy into combat when he's below half HP unless I can heal him afterward (which, given Hoshido has the 2-range staves, and Wane Festal and Physic exist, so it's certainly doable while keeping your healer safe with some effort) or protect him from enemy phase attacks. But hey, it doesn't happen during Enemy Phase, that would be horrendous. Overall, yeah, it's not great, but I wouldn't call it the worst either. Azama's is just hilarious to me. It's a counter that only happens if he's unarmed, which... Well, it has led to comedy kills for me, and Azama certainly has the defense to make use of it, but why he would ever go unarmed is beyond me. Overall, it's pretty much useless once he promoted (unless you let him go around without a weapon for some reason. In which case, why?). I saw Arthur mentioned here, and no, it's not. It reduces enemy Dodge by quite a bit, while only dropping Arthur's by a third of what it drops enemies for. This is great in two ways. If you don't do anything about Arthur's abysmal starting luck, then he isn't getting dropped by much, while enemies are suffering a much larger drop, so it doesn't hurt him especially much. If you do elect to fix his crap luck with a Goddess Icon or two, then he's still only getting a small drop in his Dodge, so he's less likely to eat a crit than enemies who are near him. And this leads into the biggest point in Arthur's favor, which is that it's a two-space aura of more-likely-to-get-critted. This means enemies don't have to be adjacent to Arthur, so 1-range foes can suffer from Misfortunate while being unable to touch Arthur by just putting him on the other side of a wall, or just putting units between Arthur and enemies. I love this skill. So, this leaves Dwyer, whose Born Steward is useful only in My Castle (or Someone Else's Castle). I'm sure it's useful there, but in the entire rest of the game, he might as well not have a personal skill. So yeah, it's my pick for the worst. But that's just my opinion. I don't have any of the children yet, so I dunno much about their skills.
  19. Well, I'm pretty sure Hoshidan Unity on anyone but Corrin and second-gens is only possible via hacking... But you can get it through other people's castles, so go for it.As for other skills, you might want to get Miracle on her, because Elise will be very bad at surviving without it (and even with it, to be honest, she's just not meant to see physical combat), even with Pavise & Aegis (since her defense is craptacular). Also, what's the logic behind putting Wary Fighter on a Swordmaster? Even if it's one as fragile as Elise, shouldn't you take advantage of the fact that she can probably double most enemies (unless magic swords can't do that?). I'd go with Miracle, personally, for the reasons mentioned above, or Aegis, since it's a decent chance (thanks to Swordmaster's naturally high Skill, even if Elise lowers it a little) to lower damage from more weapons. As for other skills (not necessarily on the same set...), perhaps run Vantage? I can't see Elise surviving long enough to get much use out of it if enemies are actually hitting her, but it might save you occasionally. One question: Why not use the Levin Sword? Just wondering. This is interesting tho, best of luck making it work.
  20. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for The Adventure of Link. I always played it (or Duck Hunt, which I... don't remember fondly... because I sucked at it) whenever we went over to my uncle's apartment when I was younger, and I liked it because it was different from Super Mario Bros 3 (which I like more, but sometimes you wanted something different). I sucked at it back then, but that's how I was with most games, and it was different from everything else enough that I really enjoyed it. Looking back, however... It could've used some fine-tuning. I enjoy it for its uniqueness, but I wouldn't call it a great game (good, however, I could say it's good). All the same, I would recommend people play it, if only to see something unusual from the Zelda franchise. Wish I could find a game that was like Zelda II, but better. There's probably at least one out there somewhere. Also, I wish Link started with the up and down thrusts, instead of having to learn them from hidden wizards.
  21. That would actually be pretty neat. And yeah... Even if the "dark god, not evil" thing was done before in FE (as you mentioned), they could possibly do it better on a second try. This too could be neat.I'd personally not have it as the final boss (evil god last boss has been done to multiple deaths by now, I think), but having this could still be interesting, if it's written well. Ah, I think I see. Don't much remember FE7, but I recall the event you're referring to, pretty sure it was mentioned there. Ah, I see. Missed that part where the other enemies are all the bosses and stuff (although, if it's ALL the bosses, definitely buff up the first bosses to an appropriate level; not quite up to the later dudes, but not where they were when they were a mild challenge in chapter 3). Ah, the Fates references there were just because it's the one I've been playing lately, and that's something I kinda wish Fates had been. And yeah, it'd have to be better balanced than RD, but then that's a lot easier here, primarily because you don't have to have one side be buffed as hell (since there's no previous game for one side to have appeared in to justify their relative overpoweredness). It'd still take some balancing (after all, both teams are going to be playable, so they have to both be viable choices), but it's got to be doable. Well, Fates lets you capture units and have them fight on your side... But they don't come with, or give you, their equipment. I was disappointed when I found that out, I wanted FE5-style capture-to-steal-enemy-stuff.And I've wanted stealing back since Awakening. Might've actually used Gaius more if he could take cool stuff from enemies. I had written out something like this while I was writing my previous post, but it wasn't as well-articulated (or whatever the word I'm thinking of is) and I preferred the dual-protag thing, so I scrapped it.But I love this. Yeah, this would be very nice. And this is why. It'd be super nice to make the tactical decisions we're getting credit for in the story. Whether that credit is "you're super dupity awesome" or "everyone is dead and it's all your fault" or something in between, it'd still be a nice thing to see enacted. Also, this. This would be great.
  22. Yeah, I'd like to see this too. This, or a story where the whole cult of revive-the-evil-dragon-or-dark-goddess-or-whatever-Loptyr-is-or-whatever-monster-it-is-this-week plot is wholly or partially unrelated (at most, have the relation as enemy-leader-allows-cult-to-continue-and-encourages-its-growth-to-get-more-soldiers), and got dealt with partway through (complete with the aforementioned this-week's-surprise-monster, the sort of thing you might see as a final boss, as a mid-story fight), and then you deal with the remnants of that cult harass you from time to time (would allow for reinforcements from unexpected positions, which could be annoying but I feel might be interesting) while dealing with whatever the A plot was (my head says antagonist king, with a Genghis Khan-ish unite-my-country-for-maximum-conquest sort of thing going; possibly sympathetic, possibly not, but still someone you'd have to kill in the end). ...That would be quite interesting, if primarily from a gameplay perspective (the concept of enemies that don't stay dead would be an interesting one, especially if they just auto-revived after a couple of turns and you had to put them back down again; that alone could make for a possibly-interesting chapter gimmick). As far as story is concerned... Yeah, it also sounds interesting to me there too. Although, I'm dreadfully sorry, but it's been a long time since I played 7, so I think I've forgotten what exactly happened to Elibe... Unless it happened in 6, then I haven't forgotten. Because I never played that one. Still, I like your idea. That final boss especially would be a quite interesting one. Though I'd make several copies of that boss and have one in each group of enemies, so you'd have to kill all of them to succeed, but that's just me. ... As for what I'd like to see in a protagonist... Honestly, I'd like to see two separate protagonists, with their own armies who you'd control in separate storylines that occasionally intersect (think like Fates, if it were just one game, and Corrin didn't exist (or played a far, far less important role), and your main lords were Ryoma (when you're playing on the Hoshido side) and Xander (when you're controlling Nohr), and you'd switch off between them from time to time, and they had clashes like in Radiant Dawn where the other side would be equipped in the same way they were when you last played as them and might even field different units depending on who you use most frequently, and keep units with support bonuses together to take advantage of that... I know that second-to-last thing didn't happen in Radiant Dawn, and I'm not sure the last one did either, but I think they'd be neat touches). And then they'd either team up against some third faction (not necessarily a the-real-villain type of thing, maybe just a Walhart-but-with-foreshadowing type of thing, maybe), or you'd be forced to pick a side beyond a certain point and that side would win (and kill off most of the other side, with some unavoidable deaths (bosses, rout maps) and some avoidable ones (like, they're there, and you can kill them, but you don't need to, and maybe one or two of these would be able to join you if you let them live)), and then you'd take the side you picked to beat down the aforementioned third side. Maybe have it as the latter, with the option for the former if you completed some hidden requirements (they'd be hinted at in-story, of course, and some of them would be spelled out after beating one side, so after playing through both sides, you'd know how to get the team-up). Sorry if that kinda went off-topic a bit there.
  23. Ah, I see.I just saw Sothe mentioned with like every FE lord and got a bit confused. For some reason, I always picture every fighter I wish would happen as either Marvel vs Capcom 2 with different characters or Smash Bros with different (well, not entirely different, in this case) characters. Even though Soul Calibur was mentioned in the OP, and it makes sense when I think about it. Oh, and the new Fates DLC reminded me, I have to add Anna to my list. Dunno how I forgot that one.
  24. Yeah, I'd like to see Keaton too, haha. Maybe also Kaden. WaitSothe was a lord? What? Also, Lucina could probably be done without clone-y-ness. I like this list.Except Emmeryn, that'd just be a bit too out of place. But that's just me speaking personally. Honestly, she probably would be funny, I just can't picture it is all. Yeah, that would be a GREAT way of getting more characters in.Kinda like how Pokkén Tournament did it. Dunno bout Sakura punching stuff tho (Elise would be fine, she practices punching in one of her supports so it's okay), she'd probably do better as a healer/magic-er/archer. ...By the dark knight, do you mean the Black Knight?Because if so, I agree, he'd be a cool addition. Other than that, I mostly agree. And don't worry about forgetting stuff, I forgot to add Keaton and a wyvern rider (Camilla, most likely) to my post (and probably other stuff too). On an unrelated note, I pretty much pictured this as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but with Fire Emblem characters. Dunno why, that's just how it is for me, I suppose.
  25. An FE fighter roster... That'd be a bit tricky, since there are so many choices... Can't possibly satisfy everyone, but here's my list (some more fleshed out than others): First, the lords. One per game, except 11 and 12 because those were remakes (though Awakening gets two reps, because I wanted to include both of them... Hey, it's just a dream roster): Marth: Because it'd be wrong not to include him. Alm/Celica: Not sure which one of these two I'd put in (maybe both?), both could be something probably. Sigurd/Celice: Because I'd like them in. Maybe with a thing where you pick Sigurd, and when you lose a round, Celice takes his place (and is pretty much the same, outside of appearance). Leif/Leaf: Because why not? Some sort of, like, unmounted like a Prince, but has all the weapons like a Master Knight, sort of thing. Roy: Primarily to include a lord from each game, plus he has a fire sword, which is cool visually. Lyn/Hector: I'm honestly not sure which one of these two I'd include, they could both work. I'd prefer Lyn, personally. Mostly because she could have bows. Eirika/Ephraim: Another maybe-both-but-not-sure thing here. Eirika could be nice, especially if she got stuff from Awakening's Bride class, but I'd go with Ephraim, primarily because a lance-fighting lord is unique. Ike: No surprise here. Also, he gets to use Ragnell's sword-beam-projectile-thing he has in Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn/Fates but doesn't in Smash for some reason. Micaiah: The Maiden of Dawn would bring light magic, possibly staves as a melee weapon (hey, it could happen in Radiant Dawn...), and maybe do something with Sacrifice. Chrom & Robin: In the same character slot. Bringing some form of Awakening's Pair Up mechanic to a fighting game. You'd be able to switch between Chrom's more up-close swordfighting and Robin's ranged magical assault, and have the backup character pitch in occasionally. Lucina: Somewhat like Chrom, but she drops Robin in favor of a more expanded moveset for herself (maybe have a bunch of the skills she could get from her non-Robin parents in Awakening for some of her moves?). Corrin: Mostly to have every game get a lord rep. Still, taking some inspiration from Smash could give Corrin a powerful arsenal of shapeshifting attacks, and maybe have Draconic Hex worked in there somehow too... And now, some other ones (WARNING: This may be biased a bit toward the GBA/GCN/Awakening/Fates games, because those are the ones I actually played): Cain & Abel: Cavaliers need representation, and who better than the first pair (probably not as a team tho)? Make one a bit stronger and the other a bit faster, and have one be primarily swords and the other mainly lances, and they'd be goodish to go, I think. As a bonus, give them colors similar to other red/green cav pairs (Kent & Sain, Kieran & Oscar, Sully & Stahl, the other ones I'm forgetting...). Titania: Could've been Jeigan, Marcus or Seth, but I went Titania so she could be further differentiated fom Cain & Abel by using axes. She'd be sort of a middle ground between them, albeit leaning a bit toward strong/slowness. Gatrie: Because Knights need love too, and I remembered Gatrie first. Navarre/Shanan/Joshua/Mia/Owain/Ryoma: Myrmidon representative. Couldn't decide on just one, though I'd probably go with Shanan if I had to choose. Ogma/Dieck/Raven/Gerik/Gregor/Inigo/Selena: Mercenary rep. Any could work, though personally I'd go with Raven. Nephenee: Soldier & lancer representative. Partially here because of personal bias. Nino/Ross/Mozu: I dunno which one of these three I'd go with (though I will admit that I picked these three Est-esques out of the six I remembered because they always worked out well for me when I used them, unlike Amelia/Ewan/Donnel). Whichever of these three were to get in, they would start of as rather weak, but have some ability that would power them up permanently when used, and maybeeven be able to promote mid-battle. Azura: Dancer rep. Mostly picked because she can fight back and has a lance. Maybe have her sing to debuff enemies? Tiki: Manakete rep. Because dragon. Add Fae/Fa/FE6-Dragon-girl, Idoun, Myrrh, Nowi, Bantu, maybe also Ena/Kurthnaga colors. Boyd/Nolan/Arthur: Fighter rep. Because axes need love too. Couldn't decide between these three. Sety/Erk/Pent/Soren/Orochi/Hayato: Magic reps. Not sure how many of these I could add. Canas/Pelleas/Tharja/Henry/Nyx: Dark magic reps. Again, not sure if more than one spot should go to this group. Rolf/Shinon/Noire/Niles/Takumi: Archer reps. A more long-ranged style would be tricky to balance, but it kinda needs to be here. Mist/Felicia/Jakob/Flora: Healer rep. I'd choose Mist, partially because she has a sword (Florete, for projectile stuff) as well as staves (Heal, sure, but also Silence/Sleep/Freeze/Enfeeble/Berserk (I know those last three weren't in FE9 or 10, but they'd be fun)), partially for personal bias. Felicia/Jakob/Flora could work too, though. Matthew/Legault/Volke/Sothe/Niles: Thief rep. Not sure what they'd be able to steal, but they'd all get Lethality (except Niles, I suppose...). Yes, Niles is here too. He's kind of a thief-y type, isn't he? Caeda/Florina/Tana/Marcia/Tanith/Elincia/Sumia/Cordelia: Pegasus Knight rep. Not sure who I'd go with on this one. Probably Caeda, no reason really. Actually, I could maybe end up adding Elincia as just her own thing. She's kind of a lord, yeah? Keaton/Kaden: Shapeshifter rep. Down to personal bias here, I just don't like Panne/Yarne as much as these two. Forgot this one originally, haha. Altenna/Heath/Cormag/Glenn/Jill/Haar/Cherche/Gerome/Camilla/Beruka: Wyvern rider rep. Personally, I'd go with Camilla. Forgot this one initially as well, haha. Hardin/Zephiel/Ashnard/Walhart: King-type representative. Not sure which I'd go with, to be honest. Gharnef/Julius/Nergal/Lyon/Validar: Evil Sorceror-type rep. Not sure which one'd get the nod here, either. Medeus/Formortiis/Ashera/Grima/Anankos: Giant Final Boss Thing. Not sure who I'd go with. Probably Grima though, if only to have a Robin-alike assistant you could beat up during the fight. Yeah, I know Ashera wasn't giant like the others, I just couldn't find a better spot for her. Abd finally (hopefully...)... Anna: Anna representative. Uses Outlaw/Thief/Apothecary-type stuff, has some sort of money-making mechanic to power herself up with or something. So, uh, yeah. That's who I'd add (not all of them, of course, though there are probably a few I forgot). Sorry about the length. Yeah, this would be neat too.I say this as someone who's never played a Warriors game tho.
