Hey everyone, Raytwo here, kinda new around the place, please tell me if this doesn't belong to this section of the forum. Now back on topic !
I'm proud to announce that after some sort of collaboration with Team If (well, ShadySheikah mostly), I've been able to add subtitles to Fire Emblem If (Special Edition, but I have one for Conquest if needed) with success.
This patch replaces the original code.bin file of the game, which means that it won't work if you're using patch 1.1 with the game as it overrides this one.
You also need to add the MovieSubtitle.bin.lz file in the /m/ folder (I added it just in case) as well as the *_sbt.bin files in /movie/ for this patch to work (Also added).
These are files from the EUR release of the game so this uses the localized names. I have made a tiny software to auto-patch the names but this is not the purpose of this release.
Works with rebuilt CIAs, 3DS roms or using LayeredFS (NTR/Luma3DS).
Feel free to use this in your own projects/hack-roms, credits are always appreciated!
The patch archive is downloadable at the end of this post.
Downside (?)
The routine to prevent you from pressing Home during a cutscene had to be removed to fit this one. Not that it really matters, right? :^)
Credits
Team If, but primarily ShadySheikah, for giving me the necessary information for this to work.
SciresM, for his symbols parsing script for IDA (If you're reading this, thanks a lot for leaving this on Twitter, it helped tremendously!)
