Gotcha. I was just wondering if there was some empirical formula for calculating this, but it doesn't seem like there is since characters are deliberately made to be imbalanced. Thanks a ton!

Does anyone know why the total growth rates of Fates characters differ? I understand that perhaps the royals ought to have a higher total since they're supposed to be OP. But why do Effie and Benny (knights) or Kaze and Kagero (ninjas) have different totals? Does it have to do with percentage allocation, or are the characters inherently imbalanced for whatever reason (and therefore some being statistically destined to be better than others, RNGesus willing)?

I think something like this is the best compromise. Ultimately, I feel having the kids using their parents' respective weapon would be really fun.

Yeah, I didn't expand or defend further because you basically have it right: Azama's a dick, but it may actually be for "X" more serious reason that you might not have caught, and maybe it could change your mind about him. In the end you still dislike him, which is perfectly fine too. I have no problem that you disagree, just with the unnecessary snark. Right, but there is that nuance of thinking you were talking about before. It seems Crosby is saying that just because you're a nihilist doesn't mean you ought to off yourself since your life is a random blip in the universe. Deciding to live on is perfectly in line with nihilism-- just so long as you never forget that your life is pointless. Absurdism, on the other hand, is accepting that life is pointless but simultaneously rebelling against it anyway.

Yes. Azama is absolutely hysterical. He’s the antithesis of a traditional holy man– impatient, condescending, and a bully. Now, now. I know what you’re thinking: He’s a monk but a dick! Of course that’s why he’s funny! He’s a hypocrite! However, best put in his wise words, “I’m sorry that you’re totally wrong about everything.” Azama’s cruel behavior corresponds to his personal philosophy more than you understand. Despite it being the wildly common claim, he’s actually not a nihilist. Azama’s an absurdist. Absurdism is the third, lesser-known sibling to existentialism and nihilism.Existentialists believe humans can imbue meaning to life while nihilists think life is intrinsically meaningless and trying to ascribe some kind of meaning is futile and irrational. Yet it could be said that absurdists are like a paradoxical combination of the two schools of thought. Absurdists believe that while life is indeed intrinsically meaningless, one ought pursue the experience of life itself anyway– to live on in spite its contradictions and dilemmas. One can “reject” the absurd in two ways: 1) suicide and 2) religion. This is pretty damn close to what I think. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the Nohr siblings being older than their Hoshido counterparts, except for Sakura being older than Elise.
