  1. It's good that you enjoyed it. As an aside, KSSU also marked the beginnings of this fellow: Technically he was in the original Super Star as an opponent in Megaton Punch, but Ultra was Bandana Waddle Dee's first "real" appearance as a character. He was an instant hit with me and my friend group, and we were happy when he was included in Return to Dream Land. The mira Ouroboros got from... somewhere was clearly well spent. It's probably because a) Kirby is HAL Laboratory's flagship franchise and b) HAL has enough resources to actually make spinoffs. IS theoretically could but they're split between FE, Paper Mario, and WarioWare. How many games a series gets mostly depends on if it has a dedicated development team. Nintendo EPD has eleven such teams, though we don't know what No. 1 and No. 7 work on. This feels like I'm talking about a mysterious anime evil organization. Donkey Kong in particular doesn't have a dedicated developer, hence why there hasn't been a new game since Tropical Freeze.
  2. You should but have you finished Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright yet? Maybe I should replay it one of these days... I remember the multiplayer being particularly fun, I mained Falco. When all hope seems lost during the final battle, the team from Star Fox 2 will show up to save the day. Sabre from Dinosaur Planet can appear as a secret character. This banner feels oddly inspired by modern FEH standards, they even made Yukimura a 5 star. That said, it's bit sad that having only one alt is considered a win. The Zelda marathon never ends. Soon, the time of the CD-i games will be upon us.
  3. This is your reminder that Kingdom Hearts IV was announced two years ago. The mobile game that's supposed to lead into IV isn't out yet either. Eventually Star Fox fans will admit that Assault is the best game. It's a proper continuation of 64 (gameplay and plotwise) while still doing its own thing. Command is too but it's controversial for different reasons. Ultra has a sizable amount of new content and the remaining content is mostly the same, other than minor things like having a Fire Emblem reference that the original localization missed. As such, Ultra is preferable unless you're specifically interested in the original SNES experience, or if you want to play both versions to compare them. Ultra is also arguably the start of Kirby's "modern era" which could be another reason to try it.
  4. I made an image: A few characters could shuffle around and Ryu could go up a tier, but mostly this reflects my opinions. I didn't want to include third party characters from the same company in the same tier unless I think they could go either way, like Snake/Simon and Cloud/Hero. I also put Dr. Mario and the echoes in their own category; basically I think the echoes will come back if their parent character returns, and Dr. Mario in particular is up to the developers' whims.
  5. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Oh yeah, I remember seeing that now. I hope you get lotsa spaghetti for completing it. Why do the lore explanations just make things more confusing? Monolith betrayed us! I wouldn't mind if next game was entirely disconnected from the rest (Xenoblade Chronicles X2 aside), especially since basically nothing about XC3's plot aside from Future Redeemed required for it to be a sequel. Let's hit these plot points in order.
  6. Sakurai talked about Cookie Clicker in one of his videos, my life is complete. I wonder what his lifetime cookie total is, mine is 810.12 octodecillion. Nadia's DANGER ZONE line was too powerful so they had to nerf it. I'll see it over the weekend hopefully. I look forward to the scene where Godzilla uses his atomic breath to fly all the way from Egypt to Brazil while Kong rides on his back. The end of all is coming... I was hoping for Arzette to have an I.M. Meen lookalike as a boss, but apparently Arzette is old enough to avoid not-Meen's ire so he's just an NPC instead. Now I just need to know if there are any Hotel Mario references...
  7. The last page* has too many videos. (There is some irony with this being the first post of a new page.)
  8. Oppenheimer and son They probably respect Godzilla as a character and wanted him to be involved with the ceremony. There's a group shot of all the nominees and Yamazaki is still holding a Godzilla figure in the bottom left corner. Quality reaction image, teehee. If he doesn't romance her, Alain should make it his life's goal to find a worthy husband for Ginny. Every potential suitor will be vigorously tested.
  9. I assumed I had to finish Unicorn Overlord's demo before the time limit ran out or else I would be kicked out, but it lets you finish the battle you're on before doing so. Which is good, because the final battle introduced a new victory condition when I had 39 seconds left... Satisfying images Coincidentally, King Kong won the same award in 2006. It feels nice that the franchise is getting positive attention. You can teleport directly into Galerius's throne room, but he's busy elsewhere so Alain and co. have to wait a few days for him to get back.
  10. Somehow... Miyamoto returned. I was wondering why it was taking so long to announce a second one. Besides that, The Thousand-Year Door remake and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD have release dates now (May 23 and June 27, respectively). Campanella is a pretty tricky fellow, even the game itself isn't safe from him. It's available for free, so it's worth trying out at least. I'm guessing at least 20 of those GB are from adding Kit Fisto and Ventress.
  11. The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog is the most Ace Attorney non-Ace Attorney game I've ever played. Some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb. Make sure you play hide-and-seek with her correctly, or else you won't get 100% BP. Renne is sneaky like that. 68 is pretty young too, rest in peace. I think the FeMC was added to Persona 3 Portable as a "bonus" to make up for other content being removed in the transition, though Atlus probably could afford to do it again at this point but how would they let players romance their teacher-maid in that case?
  12. Happy birthday! You're right, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were intended to be one game Sonic 3 was released early to not miss the McDonald's promotion so it's cool that Sega found a way to connect them as soon as S&K released, rather than needing to wait for a rerelease or something like that. I envy the passion this guy has for Tartar Sauce.
  13. I would say it would be a Black Lantern since those represent the absence of life and emotion, but Black Lanterns are undead and Mechagodzilla (technically) isn't. Otherwise, it would probably be another Sinestro Corps member since it's derived from Ghidorah. Skar King can be an Orange Lantern depending on how his character turns out. It's alright Wraith, you can admit that you're looking forward to it. Atlus is saving her for Persona 3 & Knuckles which will release next year. Using lock-on technology, you can connect it to Persona 3 Reload for the complete Persona 3 experience. Unicorn Overlord is almost out already? I probably won't get it right away but I'm interested in seeing what everyone else thinks of it.
  14. I've been trying to get back into Three Hopes since I never finished it, but there are so many battles to do and things to keep track of that it feels overwhelming. Pizza time. This feels like a pretty accurate portrayal of Cloud and Sephiroth's relationship. This is rather unexpected, but I look forward to Blue Lantern Mothra and Sinestro Corps Ghidorah. Monsterverse Rodan is aggressive so he can be the Red Lantern.
  15. FE protagonists can't catch a break with their dads: Also today is the Switch's seventh anniversary, it feels like it released just yesterday... Reminds me that Dragon Quest XI has some optional difficulty settings to make the game harder. "You get a game over if the hero dies" is one of them, others include that you can't shop, you can't wear armor, townspeople sometimes lie to you, characters will occasionally remember something embarrassing and be unable to act in battle, etc. While you're probably right, I still liked the last film as a conclusion to the series regardless. In that regard it was better than Kingdom Hearts III and The Rise of Skywalker, but probably not as good as Cold Steel IV. Oh, yeah. At least she has some funny lines though.
  16. Maybe they took writing advice from Falcom, only the main girl gets a kiss (until the last game, but at that point Tifa is the only romance option). Aerith starts with the highest points by default and gets priority if there's a tie. Her event might also be the longest I think, and it's the one I got on my playthrough. One detail I like: Tifa likes Cloud more if he shows concern for Aerith, but Aerith likes Cloud less if he shows concern for Tifa. The A in the logo appears to have roots on it, so a Yggdrasil themed Legendary would be interesting. If nothing else, Eternal Flower Floette might be obtainable after twelve years of existing. I admire the faith you had in Square even if it was unfounded. While I agree that Rebuild technically isn't as good as the original series--the shorter runtime meant they didn't have as much time to flesh things out--I think it was decent on its own. Rei should've gotten more screentime though.
  17. Happy Leap Day! It's also Old Hubba's birthday. It turns out the key to GF getting respect was giving Zygarde its own game. But LZA isn't releasing until next year, there is still time for another ILCA game. "Gojira" and "Godzilla" are more similar that most name changes, but I wouldn't call them the same thing (the latter is occasionally transliterated into Japanese as "Gazzira"). As a fun fact, the original three options for Godzilla's English name were Gojira, Godila, and Gozila. That is the usual response to this thread, I think. Welcome to the teehee. I like how GF skipped to Kalos because it suggests they wanted to make it because have an interesting idea, rather than just giving it another game out of obligation like what happened with BDSP. I don't know if LZA will have anything to do with the ancient war or not, but I'm interested in seeing if 'A' refers to a new Legendary. *Insert joke about Xenoblade 3: Future Redeemed here* When the final boss uses Mega Mewtwo Z out of nowhere and destroys your team
  18. Kloe is perfect either way. There's also I hope you're not suggesting that Flaccid Pancake is a bad localization of Limp Bizkit, the anime couldn't handle its greatness and changed it to Limp Viscuit. The next game will be either Johto or Unova related-- By Arceus, it's Zygarde with a steel chair! I am pleased to be getting a new Legends game, though the biggest surprise is that it's releasing next year. Could Game Freak be taking their time for once? I wasn't expecting them to, but maybe they'll save Gen X for the 30th anniversary in 2026.
  19. I get it, so Scarlett gives Alain a paraglider so he can leave Cornia without taking fall damage. I should've considered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber method. I wonder what would happen if 3.0+1.0 ever gets covered... playable Gendo when? Didn't 13 Sentinels sell a million copies? It must've been because of the yakisoba pan. I look forward to the "Galerius did nothing wrong" discourse after Alain joins him. This isn't related to anything, but it would've been cool if Ilenia was the main character.
  20. Unicorn Overlord's demo is fun, but the freedom you get makes it a bit daunting to decide what to do next. Maybe I'll try to visit Elheim to see if I can actually go there at this point. Covering the second and third movie in the same game would be pretty complicated, since there's a 14 year time skip between them. It doesn't, 3.0 doesn't have that much action between the intro and climax now that I think about it. Maybe that's why SRW might not have covered it. It's not a stretch, he already has complicated relationships with a few female characters (and Kaworu).
  21. I've had it for awhile but I started my most recent playthrough last year. Chao data is saved separately from the main game, so I've had my Chao for much longer than that. I'm guessing the original team concepts predated the Speed/Fly/Power system, so Team Chaotix probably stuck around over the other classic teams because they fit it the best. I also like Team Dark and Team Rose as they are in the final version; Omega is a good addition and while Big never actually interacts with Amy in Adventure, I think he fits in well as a big brother figure to her and Cream. I value Chaos's rare appearances but I admit that he wouldn't really fit into Heroes. It's a good thing that science allows us to hear Morshu read the Bible. I could try, right now I'm focusing on getting the remaining upgrades. I imagine getting A-ranks in every mission is probably beyond my capabilities though. Hey she's cute-
  22. I don't want the next game to just be "Ultimate with more characters"; since everything will be rebuild from the ground up either way, the developers should take the opportunity to go in a new direction without reinventing the wheel. Heck, call it Super Smash Bros. Evolution or something. I would enjoy more new stages since Ultimate only had four in the base game, a Metroid Dread stage where you get chased by an E.M.M.I. would be fun. I don't feel too strongly about new characters at this point but here's a newcomer list I spat out: Since Splatoon and ARMS were the only new Nintendo series to get characters in Ultimate, I wanted a balance between adding to existing series and including new series. Ten or so new characters with a total roster around 60ish characters seems realistic. Using Ultimate as a precedent, the base game will probably have one to three third party characters, with DLC adding more along with cut veterans and Nintendo characters who were too late for the base game. In particular, the lack of a Koei Tecmo character is still rather odd and Adol Christin seems like the kind of character Sakurai would enjoy including (he was the eighth person to finish Xanadu, after all). And honestly I'm fine with keeping Ganondorf mostly as he is, but he should get his own victory theme.
  23. I finished Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the first time. The lategame was harder than I was expecting, but it was a fun time. (Should I use a spoiler tag for the ending of a 23 year old game? Sonic 3 will probably be inspired by it, so...) Now I just have to complete all the Chao races. But since most of my Chao are older than some users of this forum at this point, none of them evolved the way I wanted them to... "My sword won't hurt anyone friendly. Luckily, this isn't my sword."
  24. "This is a death sentence for every human being on Earth" is a pretty hardcore sentence, nevermind that it's from a game about a talking blue hedgehog. I think that back in ye olden days, "fish" referred to any water-dwelling animal and not just aquatic vertebrates with gills. But capybaras did evolve from fish, as did all mammals, so make of that what you will. His availability is pretty irregular, but you'll get to use him more later on. You will learn to value Grail Sphere in particular. It was a while ago, I don't remember my opinion on Big's gameplay. I planned on replaying Sonic Adventure DX to find out, but I as I said before, my disc no longer works. I could get it on Steam eventually, though for now I got The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog instead. At least Big got a good showing in Sonic Heroes (my copy of that doesn't work either). Happy belated birthday, I hope your 53rd birthday was a pleasant one.
  25. It's funny that Mario got arrested after being mistaken for a criminal doppelganger with "Shadow" in his name a year after the same thing happened to Sonic. Apparently it's because they were imitating Prussia. They would probably change the inheritance laws in the event that there are no potential male heirs, which almost happened before 2006. Just wait until you get to Estelle's Big Fishing Adventure 3 in the next game, haha... My copy of Sonic Adventure DX no longer works, so sadly I cannot experience the wonders of Big (unless I get it on Steam). At least I still have Big's fishing minigame in Frontiers, and my copy of SA2B fortunately still works. If people predict a new console every year, they'll be right eventually. Personally, I predict that there will be a new Nintendo console by 2064.
