  1. Hi, I just patched and started the first chapter of the Staff of Ages 2.0 Normal Mode patch. I used a save file from the previous version that only went up to the end of Part 1. Everything seemed to work, so I chose Sawyer's route. In the first chapter, however, I noticed several crashes when I tried using Deborah in combat. I just wanted to know if this is an issue that affects only previous version saves, or if this is a known issue for all versions.
  2. I haven’t played a romhack besides ones that haven’t had an update in a while except this one, so will I be able to use my old saves in this patch or will I have to start from scratch? And do I patch a clean ROM, or one with a previous patch?
  3. Well, I just beat the entire thing. Kind of ridiculous that literally the only unit you need to use is Seth, who is absurdly broken, until you get Sieglinde and Siegmund, which makes Tyrfing's bonuses look like +3 Luck. Also Seth promoting into the Black Knight is a cool touch, I liked that. Didn't see any other third tier promotions, though, as I had literally zero incentive to use anyone else.
  4. Its actually a new bonus objective, instead of the Fog of War. Arch decided to add a unique objective instead of an overused one like Fog of War, so he decided that the other victory requirement is to protect the chests.
  5. definitely Winds Across the Plains. no shut up i don't care if we only heard it for only like-10 seconds with SFX all over it anyway
  6. But one of the main infantry units I use is Ephraim, who isn't exactly known for speed. Considering your pfp and banner, I think you know what I'm talking about. Low speed is hardly a detriment, as long as attack and physical bulk can make up for it, and most of the time it does. I don't see what you mean about it being true most of the time.
  7. I'm not saying that it takes money for a horse emblem team. I'm just saying I don't think casual fans will really know what they are doing to make a threatening horse emblem team. Unless they look closely at arena teams, memorize them, and copy them, they will have no idea to put lance breaker and death blow on Reinhardt, or to sacrifice a Nino for Gronnblade on Cecilia. They wouldn't know the optimal fortify+hone+goad+ward combo to make a really good arena team. If it wasn't a problem at all to counter them, why bother making the unique skills for the most popular characters solely dedicated to countering Flier and Horse and -Blade teams?
  8. My theory is that they aren't doing this out of generosity. With so many -Blade and Horse Emblem teams going around, they decided they needed to change things out for the casual people who couldn't form those teams on their own. They didn't want the casual playerbase to stop playing the game because they were sick of losing to the top tier meta strategies. So what's the simplest option? Give them a free overpowered unit that directly counters the one that gives you the most trouble. It's quite a smart maneuver; keep all of the casual playerbase, enticing them with a really good 5 star unit for free, and have all the fans laud you for being generous (not that they aren't being generous; they could have just nerfed those strategies, but they chose a smarter route).
  9. I don't think I would like this the way you put it. The only way I would like it is if the character was part of the Fire Emblem series already. It would be really, really weird to have all Fire Emblem characters and then a couple of OCs hanging around.
  10. That's weird...my Yasha is able to promote back to villager.
  11. But that Lords typically ARE fan-favorite characters. Why cut the fan-favorite characters (Lords) to make room for the so-called fan favorite characters (non-Lords) who aren't even as well liked as the Lords? Also, whats their reasoning for dropping non-sword Lords like Hector and Ephraim? Even then, they could do stuff like giving Eliwood a lance, giving Lyn a bow, and giving Ike an axe. They can all use these weapons. This doesn't really make sense of it at all...Also, I would hardly call Ike and Lyn redundant. They are some of the most popular and iconic Fire Emblem characters. Why not include them?
  12. How, isn't he just a generic axe man? Unless he turns into a weird slime monster for some of his attacks, I guess? I would rather have Batta or Gheb than Garon, I'm not even kidding.
  13. Did you just say that no one cares about Hector? I bet that will trigger a lot of people and why does everyone forget Micaiah exists?
  14. Oh, look. everyone's favorite user just arrived. And here I was, thinking we had gotten rid of you after that localization nonsense.
