  1. Man, that cliffhanger was annoying… I was really looking forward to them exploring the realm of the dead… Guess I will have to wait till next month, at least… Also, patiently waiting for the game to catch up with the trailer, or at least some of it… I feel like it can't be too long now, because a chapter or two marks the halfway point. I have to say Gustav’s fate would've held more meaning if we've gotten to know him better before it happened, but at least it's given all the creepiness it deserves… It's interesting because Hel has weakness and limits, but it's odd because Death itself has none of those… It will be interesting to see how that works out… And if the trailer is true, then Alfonse’s plan goes horribly wrong… Speaking of creepiness, this summoning banner and the accompanying events really seem to show just how truly horrifying what happened to Idenn is… It's a good expansion, but does anyone else wish that the developers had made it so that her character was based on what was shown in Binding Blade’s true ending (where she has her soul restored eventually, and inexplicably)? It probably would've been interesting, considering we never get to see what her true personality actually was in her home game… She's a popular character, though, so she might get an alt...
  2. What are your top 5 most wanted potential GHBs?

I can't think of 5 right now, but I want Erimeya in some form. It seems odd that we got the other three assassins, but not her (and we've had them for a while)… Particularly since two of them were GHBs.
  3. https://serenesforest.net/binding-blade/inventory/items/ The Demon Dragonstone near the bottom of the list was an item that Idunn was meant to have equipped, and in doing so, her stats would skyrocket. Unfortunately, the item was removed, but left in the game's data. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urLEZpOeKqc This is a video where someone hacked the Demon Dragonstone back into Idunn’s inventory, and then proceeds to fight her. The battle is crazy, with the Binding Blade being the only thing that can really damage her… It gives a good explanation as to why that was removed, aside from being very interesting to watch. I just wish what we got was not such a letdown…
  4. I'm guessing Idunn, although it will be interesting because Binding Blade didn't even really hint her existence as a final boss or a dragon unless one got the true ending… Speaking of which, I'd be interested to know what path the developers decided to go with her… In other words, if her character would be based off what happens before or after the true ending… I hope it's the latter, because it seems more interesting… Not to mention her weapon would also be interesting, because in the original game she was very weak with it, but in the beta version of the game, it was almost literally impossible to defeat her with anything but the Binding Blade… The change was most likely made because it's entirely possible to break the Binding Blade on the way to the true ending, which would render the game unwinnable once one got to the final mission, with no warning of that ever being possible…
  5. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like the chapter! As others have said, dead parents have featured so much Fire Emblem, it's beyond cliché and takes away a lot of the suspense. And as others have said, there are other ways to accelerate a protagonist’s development, so why couldn't the series use that? Binding Blade and Warriors left the heroes’ parents alive, so why couldn't this game? That I feel like we didn't get to learn enough about Gustav to make the death meaningful, even though we did get some interaction in the short amount of time. Or perhaps because the majority of interaction was chastising his son and ignoring his other child… It's not that appealing when the character is cast in such a negative light… Not to mention the whole curse affects the bloodline thing rather than the person seemed to come out of nowhere… Overall, I understand why the end of the chapter went the way it did, and that it foreshadows for what we saw in the first trailer of Book 3 (which, as others have said, pretty much gives away a lot of the info there), but I don't like how was done, and the whole thing has so far seemed very rushed…
  6. Why do you still play Heroes?

For the story, as odd as it sounds. As simple as they are, I really do enjoy the original characters, and want to see their story come to a conclusive ending. Given how slowly Heroes is progressing, though, I have no idea when that will be… I also I don't mind collecting my favorite characters, although since my favorite characters tend to be the more unpopular ones, I have no idea when they'll get in… The voice acting and stories surrounding each character do not hurt either… I used to play pretty regularly so I could level up and merge different teams for the various modes, but I stopped after getting through most of what I could in the game and finding it redundant… It's especially so considering I'm a free player other than the monthly discount packages, so there is a severe limit to what I can do… I might jump back into leveling and whatnot eventually, but it still would go pretty slowly and for now I'm just doing story missions, tap battles and daily logins.
  7. How should Sephiran be added into Heroes?

I could see three versions of him. One with his appearance in Path of Radiance as a tome user, another with his appearance in Radiant Dawn after he joins as a staff user, and a final one with him as his true identity as Lehran, with his heron power restored (and given all the power he has from the goddess, probably higher stats than what we currently have). Given how fans normally react towards different versions of the same character, I'm not sure if IS would be willing to risk putting in all three, especially since I don't think Sephrian is too popular or well-known... I'm not sure what they would do with Almehda though. The obvious choice would to have her be prior to losing her power and as a dragon laguz. But on the other hand, I could also see an alternate version were she still lost her power, picked up a weapon, and decided to fight anyway. I'm honestly disappointed she didn't do this in Radiant Dawn, as she was stated to enjoy fighting when she was younger, and it's not impossible for laguz to learn how to use beorc weapons (as Lehran demonstrates). Considering all the power she is still implied to have, she could have been much more use to Ashnarad that way, and I'm surprised he didn't think of that... Would have been much better than what we got...
  8. I did. It was very interesting. I think the main problem with Hel right now is that even though her main traits symbolize death well, they could still very much be applied to someone else, even if they were still alive… So it's hard to look at her without seeing something generic or something that has been done before… And thus, a lot of the cool symbolism you talked about is lost… It will be interesting to see what the developers come up with for future chapters, though…
  9. Someone also pointed out that the trailer could mean everyone dying, and having to fight their way out of hell, meaning that Alfonse doesn't survive his encounter with his encounter with Hel, and is instead the first one to wake up after she forces the group to the afterlife… While it would definitely be a twist on the trailer, it still makes a lot of things awkward (such as the focus on light or one or two people dying, and the idea of what it means to be a ruler). As for how someone can lead the army if Kiran does indeed die, it's possible the Summoner will be able to aid the army in spirit, because the series has done something like that before.
  10. More like whatever other afterlives there are, because Whispers of Death states there's more than one (this is probably where Guntra is, and maybe some of the other characters who've died) There's also exploring other characters that might have ended up with Hel… But the fact that this game is less content on the main games and yet manages to have so many different plot lines exemplifies the issue… And the problem is not that everything is not revealed right away, it's just that so many things take so long to get even basic facts, if they are dropped or consistently left unexplored… It's still a product of bad writing no matter how long one waits…
  11. Maybe, but they could at least mention what happened in passing if that were the case… And Florjm specifically mentions she's going to go with the Order of Heroes because she's not the heir to the throne and the Rite of Frost is killing her, so she wants to spend what time she can with them… Having her suddenly return to Nifil doesn't make much sense…
  12. Better yet, why isn't Fjorm seen or mentioned at all during this (recent New Year's side mission and Tempest Trials non-withstanding)? She's dying and she knows it, and the heroes are fighting the personification of death itself along with soldiers… It would make sense that the issue come up again… It would've also been a great way to develop Eir, since being around the dead and being in tune to death itself would have made her more perceptive of those things… Honestly, I think that's one of the problems in Heroes… There's a lot of plot lines, and they all have the potential to be done really well… But there's just so many of them that none of them are really done well, and a lot of things are left unresolved…
  13. As far as Gustav is concerned, he's probably one of the few, perhaps the only one that knows how to deal with Hel and her soldiers… So of course he would have to lead the charge because he knows tactics to defeat her (or at least stall her). Not to mention, he is stated to be older, and already has two strong and healthy heirs. If he dies, one of the two, or both, could just take over the kingdom. But if Alfonse or both his children die, he is likely to old to produce another heir and have them grow old enough to rule the kingdom before he dies. So the differences between the two make sense. Also, I kind of wish the trailer had not been shown, or least showed something different. The curse at the end doesn't hold much meaning, because, thanks to the trailer, it's already known that Alfonse will survive his next encounter with Hel (despite the curse likely taking effect, as depicted in the trailer). And it's also likely that Kiran will die in his place (hence the phrase, the light died), stopping the curse somehow (maybe fulfilling a demand for a soul). Also, I would have preferred if Alfonse died, and to be honest… It would have been interesting to see how Shanera would've reacted in that situation... Would she have kept her friendliness and used it to win over allies, or would she have discarded it, believing it to be something that was only in the way? And this really would've cemented Alfonse’s recklessness as a huge character flaw, as the party learns from his mistakes and realizes that being a ruler does not mean charging in recklessly… But even with the curse and the way things are now, it just doesn't mean anything… I'm hoping that with the way things are now, next chapter will be the one where the story catches up to the trailer, because everything looks to be in place… Also, I'm not too crazy about Hel at this point, even though I love how menacing she looks… She seems to be only wanting to destroy the other worlds for the sake of it, and has little else to her character… I'm holding out hope that her motivations may be explored, but considering this game is not really known for its complicated characters, I'm not too optimistic… At least, Surtr had an implied reason for what he did (Rite of Flames destroying his soul, and his morality along with it from using it repeatedly and surviving somehow). The villains of Muspell had solid motivations, no matter how simplistic they were… And Loki is always an interesting character… The two generals of Hel might be interesting too, provided more about the backstory is revealed… I can't really say much on Eir at this point, although so far her character arc appears to be predictable (goes to backstab the characters to earn Hel’s approval, finds out she likes them, can’t do it, and truly joins them)… I'm hoping something shakes things up, though… I'm also wondering if Eir isn't actually related to Hel, but is instead someone who Hel found worthy to be the heir and given the title… It certainly seems that way, given that she appears to be the only living being in the realm, and Hel is long undead (or something similar to that)…
  14. Changes you would make to existing gamemodes?

Get rid of some of the redundant modes somehow... Most of them are just the same thing over and over that it's hard to feel like it's worth playing all of them anymore... I mean, why play AR when Arena and Arena Assault are basically the same thing other than the ability to use more than four units when high-scoring enough, and customizable maps? Why waste time with Forging Bonds other than daily orbs when Tempest Trials around, functions very similarly, and works much better? Why bother with Rival Domains when the battle structure is similar to Grand Conquests (or vice versa)? New modes are being added as time goes on, but most of them feel like a rehash of things that have already been done... Tap Battle is the exception for certain, but even that has the glaring issue of Hard mode being pretty much useless unless you're trying to complete certain quests (which don't even give out that good rewards to be worth attempting for those that would otherwise not play Hard mode)... For as charming as this game is, and as many characters and worlds it introduces, the gameplay sure has some issues...
  15. Official Pull Topic

Got Lywen pretty easily... Not sure I will use him, because I already have seven teams almost built up (mainly for arena assault), and the repetitive gameplay mechanics are kind of starting to annoy me... He is one of my favorite characters, though...
