So I rushed back to my desk at work to place an order for two of them, one for me and one as a gift for a gal as a surprise on a upcoming date from another account I setup real quick. I totally missed out on first preording of them earlier this year so I thought, what awesome luck! Well, so much for that luck.... My heart completely sunk as I saw both my packages had LOTS of holes, tears and punctures all over the place. The tape was put on AFTER as I have to send both of them back and I didn't want them to get worse Hoping the bubble wrap was still enough, I opened both and I just wanted to cry. Both of the special edition boxes had smashed corners, creased edges, scratches on the box and missing color parts. I just couldn't believe it. Not one, but two of them! I realize to some people this might be "anal" or "picky" but honestly, being a fan a collector of games for over 20 years, I REALLY want them to be in near perfect condition and I don't think that's really asking much, so I find this kind of shipping damage just not acceptable in my opinion. The fact that Fire Emblem collectors editions become very rare and fast is even more reason I want them in great condition to keep through the years. Needless to say, I vented the amazon rep who ironically enough, was also a big Fire Emblem fan and understood why I was so upset. Sadly, the only remaining special editions boxes were 3rd party sellers, so I couldn't get an overnighted replacement and he had know idea if and when more stock would come. He gave me an instant rebate and gave me a bonus $40 amazon credit for all the trouble. I told him to inform the shipping higher ups in charge that special and rare editions of games REALLY need to be shipped in proper boxes to prevent this kind of damage, and he agreed but there was no way to guarentee they would ship me another one in a box if and when Amazon got more in, even if I called in the order. Disheartened and a bit depressed, I wondered what to do next. Do I sit and F5 Amazon the coming week and hope to score a restock and pray the shipping gods send me one that doesn't get beat around like a soccer ball? Craiglistings were already being jacked up high, nevermind Ebay listings. Whata crock, I just wanted a pristine special edition Fire emblem Shadows of Valencia, is that asking too much? Thinking why the fuck not, I called up my local Gamestop asking if they had preorders that were not picked up as they only keep preorders for 48 hours after launch as store policy. After that, they are fair game. To my shock, the gal said they actually had 3 people not pick their copies up still! I asked if they were in good condition and she said mostly and would hold the best in shape one for me until closing. So yeah, I jumped into my car Dukes of Hazard style and rushed to the mall and in less then an hour, the other 2 copies were already sold, but she still had I basically near perfect one waiting for me! She even gave me a special editions only preorder only tin poster they had left over! Yes, for once, Gamestop actually saved the day for a now very happy Fire Emblem fan!

Some are under strict contract terms not to do voice lines sadly

Hmm ok, i'll keep playing and try not to constantly compare it to Awakening which is proving really really hard. I'm also struggling to enjoy the basic "Japan" clone that Hoshido is vs the Nohr which I don't like because of that king and I know conquest is much harder which will just frustrate and anger me because I am new to Fire Emblem and I don't like games that are hard and make me upset or I just quit playing, so I chose Birthright

I just made connection about the ears after chapter 6, I remember Taki and Nani now, makes sense.

I'm really struggling to like it as much as I did with Awakening. I'm nearing chapter 6 but I'm having a hard time being drawn into my character/me and what's going on with this new fire emblem. And really doesn't help that the character creation in Fates... Well.... Sucks! It was great in Awakening when I could make and avatar that looked older and sounded older like I am in my mid 30s, I could identify my character more and see myself easier. I usually make characters in my RPGs based on me vs a fake one. So it's really not helping me that I look like a Japanese fairy tale male teenager no matter what I did. And why the hell am I stuck with red eyes only and have elf ears? Cmon!

I was able get my copy from Best Buy online for $40 in Dec But yeah welcome to low supply, high demand and Japanese Nintendo games

Ung, I benched Sully after about 5 fights, I got so damn sick of her "challenge the world and myself because men are assholes and watch me succeed!" boasting over and over. Hate people like that in real life as well.

I fail to see any reason for Owains retarded drama theatre other then covering up for the fact he is not that Damn special in any way other then the offspring of a demonic entity. People who cover up in inadequaties in pathetic, flamboyant or just flat out lies in real life annoy the fuck outa me, I can't stand being around them
