  1. Nice topic ! I finished my Pegasus Emblem yesterday, thanks to the wonderful Defense 5 mission. Since the kits are in no way revolutionary, I'm skipping the technical specs. Let me jjust mention that: Iote's shield on Shanna was motivated by fear of Takumi, which turned out to be unfounded. Shanna "JAS 39 Gripen" and Palla "A-10 Warthog" were the easiest units to equip, their native kits are excellent. Hinoka "E-3 AWACS" took more time, mainly because of her 5-star status and her expensive special. Cordelia "F-22 Raptor" is possibly the priciest unit to roam the skies ever. Not only did I have to re-equip her almost entirely, but her special is a 3-tier SP guzzler.
  2. Yes, it does, and I think I can agree with you. Having reasonably frequent opportunities of opening gifts is a substantial part of FE:H's appeal. The almost non-existent competitive aspect of FE:H makes it possible for Nintendo to be generous for everyone. F2P player can have a small collection of high-rank units they cherish, and whales can have a larger collection with marginally better units. Both camps never come in contact and everyone is happy. This contrasts with the other so-called f2p games I've played, which were highly competitive with real-time PVP. The gap between f2p and p2w had the tendency to grow wider with time which led to f2p exodus and, ultimately, demise of said game.
  3. From the top of my head: - 4x3 = 12 orbs / month from the arena - 20 orbs / months from the gauntlet - 15 orbs / month from new chapter - 9 orbs / month from new paralogue - 20 orbs / month from various quests Total: about 76 orbs / month, or 912 orbs a year, not accounting for daily orbs. Are we having fun yet ?
  4. Teach her one asap. Any one. I assure you that you won't regret it. After a hard day at work, 20 summons with no 5* and no new face, plenty of bruises in the arena, I take Fae out for a stroll. Never fails to restore a big grin on my face. Shanna's "Attack, a-a-attack !" cracks me up, makes her sound the polar opposite of badass. Est's "Just like my sisters !" draws a muttered "Not quite, not quite" from your humble servant. Palla's "I cannot be merciful" just before slicing a poor Hector in four. Sure, don't overdo it darling.
  5. I have the impression that the game tries to make mirror matches. I ran dancing cavalry for one month, and I was often paired with cavalry. I'm running Pegasus Emblem since the last rotation, and cavalry is much less frequent. Armor Emblem now constitutes about 50% of my matchups, and I see a few Flier Emblems too.
  6. I really hope it won't. I've played a few f2p/freemium/gacha games over the last few years. The jump from 5* to 6* invariably signals that the game has entered its death throes. F2P players will complain that they don't have a chance, day one whales will complain that their roster is now worthless, players will leave en masse, events will stop, updates will stop, support will stop. I'll be out the very minute I learn of such a change. Watching a game I love turn into a ghost town is no fun at all.
  7. I got 4 deathless streaks this week with no merged units: 4800, 4812, 4818 and 4816. For the last two, all the slots of all my units were filled with skills at their maximum level, except for a single slot at level 2. I don't know if I'll move to tier 18, but staying a little while in tier 17 without merged units looks feasible. The most painful part of not having units to merge is to spam the defense mission 5 hard over and over again to scrap those damn SP. No way I'm doing this again for just one orb and a handful of feathers.
  8. That's a valid observation. However, Galeforce is 500 SP, so choosing a cheaper special could have a negative impact on your arena points. Who are the 4 additional wins ? I think it matters, because in my view there are 3 classes of enemy units in the arena: (1) Foes that Cordelia can oneshoot no matter what. (2) Foes that Cordelia cannot oneshoot no matter what. (3) Foes that I have never seen in the arena. From the tip of my nose, class (3) contains roughly 80% of FE:H characters. Class (2) is Hector + Effie, class (1) is everything else.
  9. I'm currently running a Pegasus squadron (Shanna, Palla, Cordelia, Hinoka). Cordelia ensures the bulk of the striking, except against Hector (Palla) and Effie (Hinoka must soften her first). Shanna (Iote's Shield) lends a hand sometimes on Takumi, but I rarely see him nowadays. All four units have Goad Fliers, except Hinoka who has Hone Fliers. It's the easiest C skill to come by, Palla can be pulled at 3* and above. Brave Lance+ is fine, I don't see any interesting substitute. All four units have Reposition, and I use it constantly. Must-have skills for fliers. Learn it asap. Special is not very important, using default Galeforce. Using Speed 3 on A slot. Goad+Hone can ensure doubling on attack (+14 speed if need be), and I like being on the safe side on defense. Using Desperation 2 on B slot, working toward 3 only for more arena points. Less useful than I thought. Cordelia is a kill-or-die kind of unit, and she rarely gets wounded at all. Hit and Run could be a good idea, it has the potential of freeing a unit for something more useful than repositioning Cordelia out of danger after a strike. Check the arena points, though. Not a fan of Threaten anything, Goad Fliers seems way better. First, Cordelia wants to stay out of range until she can strike. Secondly, Threaten lowers just one stat, while Goad boosts both Atk and Spd. Thirdly, Goad is applied where and when I want, while Threaten requires predicting the AI and delays everything by one turn. With Goad / Hone Fliers everywhere, I maximize the combat-readiness of all my units at any given time.
  10. Cordelia and Shanna work well. Add Goad/Hone Fliers if lots of merges.
  11. I can understand this, now that I've faced a full cavalry squad with my flier emblem. Luckily for me it was on the forest map and I was able to split the enemy in two groups on the left and right side of the woods at the center. On an open map, I would have been toast. The firepower and the range of Cecilia + Reinhardt is awesome when you are commanding them. It is even more stunning when you are on the business end.
  12. That's probably the wisest statement I've read in the whole thread. I still remember the glorious "4 Sakura vs Michalis" video. Four "trash" healers waltzing through a map that posed a problem to many "elite" units, that was quite some food for thought.
  13. On fliers, Hit and Run works in situations where Draw Back wouldn't. Also, Hit and Run can free the square with the maximum amount of stacked Goad Fliers, allowing you to use it with two units. If you need a second unit to finish off a foe chipped by a first unit, Hit and Run may sometimes be be the better option. That said, I'm not sure that one skill is demonstrably better than the other one. The most important thing is to remain aware of which skill is used by which unit in order to avoid embarassing mistakes.
  14. He took the "Adooooore me !" line quite personally. A man of taste, that said,. Elise may hit harder and all, but she really needs to find another tailor.
  15. That would have been the safest way, I agree. However, I'm playing on iPad, and switching back and forth between the game and the calculator is tedious and breaks the flow of the game. And forgetting a seal or a spur is still a possibility.
