  1. Summer Kama just casually has 7 passives. Her third skill is interesting in that you really want to have either cooldown reduction or run two of her in a team to take full advantage of it, because otherwise her damage up buff falls off right when you get the maximum number of stacks on the enemy, assuming I'm reading her skill correctly. The extra damage vs. charmed is a little unfortunate since her AoE charm also has her NP damage up, so if you use her charm to have the NP damage up for 3 waves you'd end up using the Charm on the 1st and probably easiest wave to kill. Her NP should hit like a truck, though, since it's a 1.5x multiplier even at overcharge 1 and she's only like 30 Atk less than Jeanne Alter. I was planning to get NP 2 Space Ishtar but given Kama's existence I'm not too sure anymore.
  2. The fact that I can't bring my best ST saber (Nero Bride) to the last CQ is kind of depressing... (She's 2000/2000 Fou'd and level 100, and I can't use her because she's Roman.) Also I have no idea why I brought Gilgamesh as my main damage dealer on my first attempt for that. 2nd attempt ended with 700k hp left, and the main reason seemed to be the fact I didn't have enough sustain, so hopefully a Artoria/Jeanne/Merlin frontline would beat it on my third. Edit: Fight took a while (1 hour or so)? But went pretty smoothly.
  3. Never bothered figuring out how Achilles duel works, so the CQ ended up a giant grind. Took me 2.5 hours to play this CQ. 3 attempts total, 1st try went blind and Achilles rolled my whole team, second try had BB with Prisma Cosmos and I figured out about 1 million damage in that Merlin needs Prisma Cosmos, not BB, and I shuffled the frontline to be Jeanne/Merlin/Kama rather than Jeanne/BB/Kama. The only duel I saw was the very first attempt where Waver died the same turn as the duel, so I couldn't even read the debuff text.
  4. Okay so I looked on the wiki since on my first attempt of the Achilles CQ he tried to duel Waver (who got bodied in a single turn by Achilles' regular attacks, obviously), but it didn't happen in my next attempt with a different team. And supposedly the requirements are: Will attempt to duel a servant in your frontline. Will only duel Male or Genderless servants, with their class being non-caster and assaain. If team has no servant that fits the criteria, he will charge NP to full every turn until he has a duel partner. How are you even supposed to find these requirements? And Waver is a Caster anyway. Plus Merlin was in my original lineup, and he survived after Waver died. But Achilles didn't try to duel Merlin at all. Anyway, I'm just going to pretend Achilles using his NP every turn is how his CQ is meant to be played. (Shouldn't be too hard to deal with considering Kama kind of owns him despite the Charm resist.)
  5. Did some of the new Gilfest CQs. They were either easier than the reruns or else bringing another damage dealer with the event CE just makes things a lot simpler when going in blind. The gorgon sisters one took either 2 or 3 attempts but I think I managed the other two or three CQs I did today in a single try. 3x support list is nice since it's easier to grab the support caster you want, and it'll probably let you ''reuse" the same CE three times, meaning you can have important CEs in different servants for your support list, which should also be a nice QoL change.
  6. Finally finished the rerun CQs. (Although I'm not sure if the Nero Bride one was a rerun.) The vast majority of them took multiple attempts, although I managed to avoid using any command seals. Dislike the Sheba one the most, it was just too RNG (it wasn't the hardest, I think the MHXA one was, although that might be because I kept bringing the wrong team for that fight). If your main damage dealer gets the card type buff which debuffs their main card type and you don't draw it ASAP that servant is basically out of comission for 5 turns right there.
  7. Having 2 lottery events going on at the same time in two different gachas is... an experience. (Konosuba: FD had its global launch ~2 weeks ago & a lottery event right now. The game seems to have memory leak issues so it crashes every 30-40 maps I run, but aside from that it's pretty okay.) I should probably stop playing multiple gacha games at once, but I know I won't. Good thing I have two laptops so I can play both at the same time with macros. Hopefully I can get my work done at work so I can spend the weekend finishing the CQs I've been ignoring.
  8. Oh wow, Illya just random got a 50% NP battery. R.I.P. Sanzang's hopes of ever seeing use. And Miyu no longer self-damages & gets a nice rolling Atk buff. Not sure when I'll use her, though. Stall heavy CQs usually also need debuff clear or some kind of teamwide defense buff, so Jeanne, Merlin, and Medea Lily tend to be brought over Miyu.
  9. Huh... the latest update caused all the event bonus servants to lose their bonus, that's weird. I actually care more about losing the bond bonus than the damage bonus, but it doesn't matter much either. Since event bonus is gone (for now?), I guess I'll make a Kaleidoscope NP spam team.
  10. Ended up doing another 130 rolls or so on Artoria's banner. (Technically 150 or so after factoring in the 11th roll bonus?) 5 copies of Artoria and neither Melt nor Okita showed up. Edit: Did the CQ, took two attempts---which let me notice that the initial set of debuffs is actually random. First time I went in blind and got rolled by the debuff train, second time I brought Medea Lily and it turns out that she hard counters the CQ. (Low incoming damage + reliance on debuffs means that, worst comes to worst, she can probably solo the boss if she wanted to---it'll just take like 100 turns or something.)
  11. 4* rate ups are a god damn lie... My luck on Artoria's banner was pretty amazing, strictly speaking (three of her showed up). On the other hand, neither Melt nor Okita showed up, so yeah... I might roll on Melt's solo banner later, but I might just wait until next year before I roll more on this banner, to be honest.
  12. With the 20% append skill Arash now has a basically 50% battery. Anyway, it's nice that it moves 30% batteries to basically 50% batteries, and 20% batteries into 40%. (60% NP Gauge CEs are rare, but there are a few floating around like Knights of Marines and Walk in the Park.) MLB Kaleidoscope is 2k Atk at max level, though, so it's probably hard to justify getting the 20% append skill unless it's on someone who's going to be consistently using a 50% CE or 0% CE. You need a lore to level 10 it, apparently, so you can't just hand it out to everyone. Seems like level 120 won't be feasible unless you eat rainbow apples during lottery events, considering the exp and QP costs. That said, the fact that level 120 exists means I'm probably going to stock up on grails now. Pity I can't exactly stock up on exp cards considering it's two years away. I guess I'll... stock up on apples and just kill myself grinding a lottery event in two years? Koyanskaya is interesting, since -4 CD (using 2 copies) lets you use a 6cd NP Gauge skill twice in 3 turns, meaning you'd be able to get a total of 200% NP Gauge skill from skills assuming the 6CD skill gives 50% Gauge. Meaning you can use 3 NPs (1 Koyanskaya with Kaleidoscope, 2 from the main damage servant) in 3 turns. A 30% skill would also work if you run MA uniform and the 20% append skill, and longer CD 50% skills can be brought in line using the Atlas uniform. And, of course, plugsuit can save you from needing the Kaleidoscope if you bring in Nitocris or the new Lancelot.
  13. Farming with a 100% damage boost Beserker is very pleasant---looking forward to when the shop is done, which will let me replace a drop CE with Kaleidoscope. I'm already running Detective Fou and Bella Lisa (never bothered getting Mona Lisa since I never had huge QP issues until recently) since it looks like clearing the shop won't be an issue. Too bad I need to farm seashells and IRRC melt's casino doesn't open until next week. Can't wait for Gilfest, hopefully it'll get me out of QP hell and finally get everyone max leveled---assuming material hell doesn't prevent ascensions. Edit: Actually, I think I'll go ahead and grab Mona Lisa now, Gilfest incoming means that I should be able to load up on a ton of mana prisms.
  14. It's too bad the best farming nodes are locked behind doing enough of the 2nd best that you'd clear the shop by the time the best nodes unlock... On the other hand, I need the drops from the not-as-good nodes anyway, so I only would've farmed the best nodes once regardless, so I guess it didn't really matter. (In retrospect I should've swapped to running the doujin point CEs earlier rather than going ham with 6 drop CEs the whole time.) I guessed correctly (or I vaguely remembered from last year) that the CQ was a bunch of random servants in a row, so my random AoE frontliner + 3 supports setup did decently well. In retrospect, though, it would've been better if I ran Jeanne Archer as the AoE Servant, backed by Waver and Nero Bride, rather than Bradamante and Skadi's.* I didn't bother resetting during the CQ, so unfortunate targeting by Summer Nobu ended up using up Bradamante's guts, and the fact she was using Black Grail meant that she ended up dying really quickly despite the fact that her NP is an AoE stun. (Not that the stun is reliable, since stunning during Nobu's transformation turn also would've saved her.) Waver, Nero Bride, and Summer Artoria cleaned up the rest without much issues, though, since Bradamante did kill like 5 or 6 servants before going down. *I'm pretty sure I made a similar observation last year, except last year I didn't have Summer Jeanne.
  15. The issue with Merlin is that he isn't really a farming Servant except in events with +mob% CEs that increase the amount of mobs you have to kill. (In those events face card damage and sustain become relevant.) For the typical 3 waves of mooks you're better off with someone with a 50% battery like Waver or Skadi so that you can just spam NPs to kill the whole wave. (Which also makes it so that you can make simple macros to farm if you want to, since only skills & NP cards matters.) He's good for CQs, but unless it's Nero-fest or the like events don't really have a lot of CQs, meaning you don't really have much of a reason to use him as a support or put him on the support list. I imagine part of the reason he was on support lists is simply because people might not have gotten Waver/Skadi yet, so people figure they might as well put him on the list. And then once they get a better farming support they replace him.
  16. : / I wish FGO would stop starting events on weekdays. I guess I'm staying up late tonight. Also, r.i.p. wallet-kun. Hopefully Vinci didn't curse me---1k quartz and only Vlad showed up.
  17. Oh man, it's a good thing I used 20 AP right before the FGO server went down (or something) when login time rolled around. Otherwise the fact that I was max AP would've bothered me. Wish I paid more attention to when GudaGuda was ending, though. Wanted to spend my AP farming the mixed node---needed reactor cores for Demon Nobu. One downside about the anniversary is that, since the dailies are half AP, I can't really justify going back to farming for the materials I need for Arjuna Alter. (I try to have all my 5*s 9/9/9 at least, so right now my box is actually bothering me by quite a lot.) On a different note, wallet-kun is probably going to get murdered since a bunch of servants I want are going to be showing up soon.
  18. Double Waver + Archer Artoria ended up rolling over the CQ. Defense buffs means Shibata doesn't do any damage with regular hits, the trio of NP gauge draining NPs means that he never gets to NP, and the defense down & Atk Ups from Waver & Artoria meant that Shibata's stacking defense buffs didn't matter. Basically I lucked into bringing an optimized front-line for the CQ despite going in blind. Everyone was alive at the end (although it was close), so obviously the incoming damage wasn't a lot---seeing how the only sustain on the team is Artoria's self-heal.
  19. Looks like we're getting the 4th anniversary event before the Summer 2020 rerun, which is nice since I want to pick up Summer Jeanne. Only downside is that this means the 3x success chance for Craft Essence and Servant Exp comes right after a 2x success chance event, which kind of makes me wish I saved the exp CEs from this event rather than using them up ASAP to take advantage of the 2x event. I'll still be taking advantage of the 3x success chance by spamming friend point summons and using the CE & Exp from the summons, though. If the 4th anniversary event somehow overlaps with the GudaGuda banner I might try to NP2 demon king Nobu.
  20. Ugh, I wanted to just use up all my AP right after the event dropped and then go to sleep, but the most efficient way to do the event is to do the resource quests before grinding farming nodes, and the resource quests... don't cost AP. It's nice that an event finally dropped on the weekend, but Monday's going to be a pretty busy day for me so I hope I can manage to not completely mess up my sleep schedule because I stayed up. While I do like an event that plays kind of like RISK or the like, it's not really deep enough to be interesting for its own sake. That is, I wouldn't play the event as a standalone game---it's interesting only because it's a nice change-up from the usual types of events. Kind of like the Semiramis Chocolate production minigame. Edit: Some of the resource quests were majorly rude, though. I used a command spell revive on the 6 turns of invul + huge Atk Up one---after that I made my team more serious, though, finally bringing in OG Nero to be in the last spot rather than making my backline 2 or 3 level 1 bond farming servants.
  21. Well that makes her a lot worse. : / R.I.P. buster farming dream. Being an AoE Beserker with 50% charge still means she's a good farmer, but it's not really enough to compete with Quick or Arts options since Buster has the weakest farming support as well as the lack of natural NP refill. Thanks for bringing it up, though. I guess I just assumed her 1st skill is a mirror of Caster Artoria's 1st skill without reading too carefully.
  22. Morgan seems like how a Buster farmer has to be in order to compete with Quick and Arts options. Quick and Arts can get NP refills from the NP, but unless your NP straight up refunds NP gauge Buster servants don't have that option. Morgan gets around that issue by having basically the most broken NP battery skillset. Compared to Waver she has comparable damage buffs but also a bit more NP gauge for the team. (20% * 3 + 30% = 90% versus 30% * 3 + 20% = 110%) Practically speaking, Waver's NP isn't really worth it for farming, so it's actually closer to 20% * 2 + 30% versus 30% * 3 + 20%. I'm ignoring Artoria Caster since if you're using her you're probably Arts looping. (Despite how similar their skillsets are, the fact that Morgan has a damaging NP and Artoria doesn't means that Morgan would be better outside of Arts farming.) She does have the slight downside where the defense down is tied to her main NP battery skill, meaning you'll have a hard time saving it for the last (and usually tankiest) wave, but that can't be helped. On paper it seems like you'd only need another 80% worth of battery in order to use 3 NPs, but the fact that what you really need is something like 20% to the whole team and then another 20% to a single target means that a Morgan/Morgan/Third Servant lineup is actually fairly selective in terms of who can fill that third slot. You can't just slap Nitocrisis in there and say 110% + 110% + 100% = 320% and call it a day, for example. Cheng Gong and the like would trivialize matters by giving you a 4th Servant to work with, but outside of post-Strengthening Helena I'm actually having a hard time thinking of people who can make a 3 Servant team with Morgan. Edit: Did some digging and it seems like, out of the 5* AoE servants, only Voyager fits the bill. OG Medb actually happens to work as well---she gives Fae servants 30% NP gauge---but she's single target. (Parvati would've been perfect since her NP refills 20% for the whole team at level 3 overcharge and she has a 20% battery skill, but the only way for her to get to level 3 is by having the two Morgans use their NP first, meaning the team can't actually take advantage of Parvati's teamwide NP refill. i.e. There wouldn't be enough NP gauge for her to NP in the first place.) Too bad you can't run a triple Morgan team, because that team would actually work.
  23. Arjuna ended up pretty easy---I did swap out of my exp farming mystic code and also my bond CEs, but he went down in the first attempt in all of his fights. Targetable guts completely steamrolls him. He's immune to debuffs and basically untankable, but every single guts you have buys another turn. I didn't need a lot of turns considering my team's sheer damage output, so the single guts from Caster Nero was enough. In retrospect, I should've used the guts mystic code over the invul one (I held the invul until the last break bar, but didn't get to use it since Arjuna has ignore invincible), but whatever. I imagine Hercules would completely wreck him. One disappointment about the last Arjuna fight was that Karna never got to use his NP---I kept prioritizing using all of Artoria's NP and cards over Karna NP, and Karna ended up dying to Arjuna's surprise NP from his last breakbar.
  24. Arjuna Alter is a bit uncomfortable because I think this is his only banner outside of Lucky Bags. I'm definitely going to pick up at least one copy (probably 2), but I don't like his aesthetics all that much. I'll probably be using Musashi as my primary AoE Beserker once she drops. If it wasn't for the fact that this is his only banner I'd probably be fine with 1 single copy or even skipping him if RNG wasn't favorable, since there's a lot of servants I want to pick up soon. (Including Summer Jeanne, who I failed to get last year---I forgot how much quartz I used, but I think it was around 600-900?)
  25. Ended up voting for Ryouma's pitch. Liked Arash and Ryouma's pitches the most, but Arash's ending needs the audience to know that him & Ozymandias are prince and attendant, and that hasn't been established yet in the 'film'. It's possible we're supposed to gloss over minor details like this, but whatever. (That is, you can't do a role swap from prince to attendant and attendant to prince if the audience didn't know you were prince and attendant to begin with.) Part of what pushed me to Ryouma's ending is the fact that Hokusai mentioned the painting was supposed to be a father and daughter, and the first draft was too much like a couple. If Miguel is properly keeping his promise to take care of Gabriela then the painting makes sense, and so does 'dying' right after marrying her. That's just my assumption on what the ending's like, though. On a meta note, I do like how the way the Meihousou plays out fixes the issue where the players who were here for Kogetsukan probably has absolutely no trust in the storyteller when it comes to a murder mystery. Since we're on the storyteller side rather than the audience side there's no need to doubt the storyteller. The Detective Conan references were pretty fun, incidentally.
