  1. Alright! I just finished playing through both Owen's and Sawyer's routes, so I suppose it's about time I give my final impressions on this particular patch. Seeing as I already gave a number of lengthy impressions on 2.0 earlier, I'm going to curtail my analysis to the changes I've seen, and my results with different characters.
  2. Okay, so I haven't actually finished playing the game yet (I've gotten up to 2-3O and haven't tried Sawyer's route yet), so this comment will be my first impressions with some of the new characters for now, along with the other changes. Also, and this is more of a bug report: neither of the Purge Bishops in 2-3O can't actually use their tomes due to their light magic rank not being high enough.
  3. In that case I'll probably end up giving that save file a look, though I'll likely end up playing through part 1 again anyhow to get the full experience.
  4. When the patch does get done, what will happen to preexisting units whose base stats get changed? Will those of us who have already recruited those units need to play the game again in order to recruit those units with their new bases?
  5. I just finished up Sawyer's route after having done Owen's route first, and so I feel I am ready to give my thoughts on both sides. Be warned: spoilers ahead! Note on all character discussions: I did not use any stat boosting items on any units.
  6. The stationary warrior in 2-1 in Owen's route holds an Iron Longbow that it can't use, making him effectively weaponless. (E-rank in bows, whereas the longbow requires C-rank)
  7. Is there a Gaiden chapter other than the one you recruit J.R. in? I rescued all the villagers and saved all the villages, and all I got was a stat-up item at the end of it. Didn't even use Uuni; Malcolm ended up doing the vast majority of the rescues for me.
  8. If anyone really feels like putting the time into it, they can potentially get all of the characters up to level 20 since, once the hack ends and you pick a route, the hack resets you back to Chapter 1-5. This also leads to potentially infinite Talismans, Secret Books, and Speedwings among the rest of the special weapons. Then again, that would be cheating for when the rest of the game becomes available, so I won't be doing that.
  9. I just finished the game all the way through 1-F, and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot! Keep up the good work. Have to say, Charles MVP of the game for me, with Owen being in close second. Sawyer ended up being fairly disappointing for me as a unit. Maybe I just got unlucky, but for me he ended off on level 15 with only 8 Magic (as opposed to Owen who hit 19 Magic at level 16), and that's after an energy ring! At least he's so fast that he doubles almost everything, but Owen was already doubling archers and pegasus knights and cutting a swath through them like Charles through the 1-F cavalry units. Never did see a reason to use Elijah once the two allied forces met up. Charles just did his job better. One thing gameplay-wise I found a little disconcerting is how late you were able to get a new dark tome for Owen. By the time I could buy a new one for him Belial was already on its last legs, whereas Sawyer's Nimbus lasted me the entire playthrough.
  10. I just finished up with the last chapter of Bloodlines. The only thing I think I missed was recruiting JR (didn't realize that I shouldn't have fought him with the MC during the chapter and couldn't be bothered to go back for him). That being said, I found a few things. When you promote Redahli, she becomes a Hero that can use tomes. Also the promotion causes some graphical glitches in the menu and the promotion animation. These are fixed once you start the chapter, however. I don't know if her promotion to Hero was intentional, but if it is Heroes need an animation for tomes. By the end, my character with the highest magic was actually Tyren. When you promote him his Magic gets set to maximum for some reason.
