  1. Hey all, I have a question of who is better to pull for. I've been lucky these past few banners and got all the green units i need, so I'm pulling exclusively blue. My question is is it better to try for the Lyn armor mage or Hardin with Gradivus? I still have no units with armor march so my team always feels immobile, but gradivus with distant counter sounds really nice. Honestly I like LA Eliwood's stat spread more but he doesn't have distant counter and I'm unsure how to spend my orbs. Any advice?
  2. I've been using a +Spd/-Atk Ike for the duration of TT instead of a +Hp/-Spd one that I had previously and it is a huge improvement. Atk bane isn't bad at all, you just have to swap out heavy blade. I've been using Fury on mine, the 37 speed coupled with his bulk means you really only have to keep him away from blue mages. After trying him out, I chose Vantage over QR since I was using him for Tempest Trials and it has waaaaaayyyyyy better synergy with Fury. Finally, for the special, I actually inherited Moonbow onto him. His speed means he'll often retaliate with two hits and secure some of the kos back that he would have if he had a neutral attack nature. I just wanted to mention the set i've been using for the same Ike, I hope that it helps! Also I recently pulled a + Spd Nowi and I'm wondering if she's really one of the best units in the game. I never really run into much trouble when playing against her so what is it that makes her so valuable? Is it the built in distant counter? Does she require a dragon team behind her to be fully effective? Is she worth investing in?
  3. Alright, it's promotion time and I'm really at a loss of who should get feathers next. Or if I should even use my feathers instead of just saving them. Here are my options: 1. A 4* +atk Reinhardt to merge with my 5* +hp one. Is the 6 extra damage per round worth it? I still haven't lucked out with death blow fodder for the one i already have either, just atk +3. 2. A 4* Eirika +atk/-res to merge with my +res/-spd one. The loss of speed of my current one is really noticeable, but with fury/swordbreaker/moonbow, the +atk Eirika reaches a respectable >90 wins vs. neutral matchup (always better than the +spd variant if she has fury tbh). Also, i've got an optimally built Tharja and Nino who would really appreciate a better buffer. 3. 5* a Hana to give LoD3 to a +atk/-res Bridal Cordelia. She already has the BB+ and Desperation, this would be the final piece to the puzzle. My only concern is that she won't be a bonus unit almost ever again so I don't know where she really fits onto a team. 4. A neutral 4* TA raven cecilia to finalize the 4th member of a horse emblem. This might be nice especially if Camus remains a bonus unit for next week. I've also never merged a unit before so I'm still unsure if it'd just be better to keep two of the same unit instead. I'm leaning towards promoting and merging Eirika but also possibly just saving the feathers. Any thoughts anyone?
  4. Hi all, I've got a question about my planned Camus build: What should I use for my B-slot on Camus? So I already have Fury/Vantage on Xander and I know this is a great combo, but it gets a little stale and I want to try something different. I've heard that Darting Blow works great on Camus, especially with cavalry buffs. Looking at the calcs with a Goad Calvary (I still can't seem to get my hands on Hone Cavalry), he already gets up to 95 Kills, 3 losses and 36 draws on standard enemies. So here's my question: is Desperation really necessary with darting blow? The only notable things he'd avoid taking heavy damage from are red and blue dragons and that's only after he's taken some damage. I'm not sure if that's enough to justify the coveted B-Skill slot. Breaker skills also seem iffy, since even on defense he's operating off of at least 37 speed. If not Desperation, then what would work well with Darting Blow? Maybe Renewal? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. That's a good point, so the difficulty of a higher tier will come from needing a higher score in order to continue raising rank
  6. Same here Tybrosion! Gonna be raising from rank 14 to 17 coming up next, and had a whopping 10 wins defensively, definitely a personal best. I think realistically jumping to tier 17 is getting into the territory of facing off against several merged units and emblem teams. It'll definetly be tougher, but the good thing is that even if you're in the bottom 30% and drop a tier, we're still guaranteed 3 orbs and 1600 feathers. In my opinion the guaranteed rewards takes a lot of pressure off.
  7. The -Spd Club! I don't feel like a true member even though 5/11 of my 5*s have it (Ike, Takumi, Erika, Reinhardt, Elise). However, on the other side I do have +Spd Nino (promoted 3 days ago), Rebecca and Lyn so i can't complain too much... It looks like all my 5*s either love or hate their speed.
  8. @MrSmokestack @Mortarion thanks for the perspective! So it sounds like I should still wait a little while for the 4th horse emblem member (Camus would actually fit in great if he's coming soon) and Xander is at least equal if not better than Eliwood. Now I just need some fury pulls! I spent my only one on +spd Nino, no regrets
  9. Hey all, I've been lurking on this forum for about a month or so but now I'm finally out of the darkness with some questions! 1. I've been lucky enough to roll Ike, Hector and Takumi this past couple week! 3 distant counter units! Unfortunately Ike and Takumi are +hp -spd while Hector is +def -atk. I don't see myself getting any of these units again soon, so i'm wondering how to optimize their viability. In particular, Ike with swordbreaker protects him from from most reds but everyone here says QR is better; would -spd hinder his performance with QR? Also, I finally have enough skill inheritance fodder to construct a horse emblem team. Was planning on using DB Reinhardt, raven/TA Cecilia, DB Eliwood, and [filler]. 2. For the filler space, I have a +spd -hp Abel, +res -atk Frederick, neut Sully and a Gunter. From these guys, who should inherit Gunter's Hone Calv and fill the 4th spot? 3. Eliwood (+atk -def) is only 3* at the moment but I was wondering how he compares to Xander. It seems like Xander requires a lot of skill inheritance and can't take a magical hit to save his life, but does he really need to with Reinhardt and Cecilia around? Which would do better to balance the team? Would having both instead of Frederick/Sully be too much red? It's a lot to cover, but any response is appreciated!
