  1. I generally think very low expectations, some very good moments, and overall great voice acting saved this game for me. I acknowledge all its faults, worse of which imo are tons of pay off without any set up, badly executed scenes and cringe dialogue, but I did have fun with it.
  2. It could be fitting. But wether or not it is depend on the character. In Ike's case I felt it was just lazy if not insulting writing.
  3. I really don't know how this things works but ended up downloading Event assembler which I think is what required to patch the game and after some playing with it I successfully patched my us version of FE8 but in the game itself I can't have supports at all, no matter how long I put two characters near each other. So I checked the same savestats with the clean version of the game and there the supports works normal. so am I doing something wrong? can someone give me a link with proper guide to the patching process?
  4. move on in story without the sidetracking (like the greith fortress and nuibaba stuff). I wonder whether it will make the game easier or harder, but since it's an option, It seems like the obvious choice if you are after speedrun

I think Genealogy is great game, with great story but pretty bare bone script and characterization. after seeing what they have done with SOV, I think they could make Genealogy's story and characters so much better and flashed out. besides, genealogy has the child mechanic built in as good as it was in awakening.

I vaguely remember three years as well, but I don't seem to find confirmation to that. but that's beside the point. even if it is a short while, I don't know, the way they talk about each other, the way other characters refers to their relationship, all those little stuff make it more believable in my eyes
  7. Yeah and I think it's a shame, because it would have make the reveal moment way more intense. I think they tried to clue it but went too far with it.
  8. I can't Remember specifics, but there were few that made me realise some plot point, like the fact alm is rudolf's son and that the masked man is conrad, but maybe I confuse base conversations with the character's conversations between battles...
  9. I think Jeddah is a Very good villain, and function well as a Celica mirror image. Both are very devoted to their respective god, but due to the different nature of each god, their method of doing things is completely different. Pay extra attention to the last dialogue with him in the final battle, you can understand from this dialogue he is not evil for the sake of evil, he is just an extremely devoted follower of Duma.
  10. Some folks here mentioned that Fernand's story is revealed only trough base conversations and its bad, but I disagree. I think that most of the time the game use the base conversetions to spoon-feed you information about the story, and while sometimes it helps foreshadowing future events, most of the time it's straight up spoils them. I think the Fernand bits were actually a good example of a base conversation done right.

  12. Other then the terrible design and lack of special animations, these classes are pretty much useless. Just to clarify, I've beat the game in normal (where it's really useless), and I don't really see a good reason to use them in hard either.
