  1. If you wanted to keep Conrad in the story, you could use him to get Celica to learn of Duma, his faithful, and the state of the gods.
  2. Under the Weapon Triangle section of Path of Radiance's Calculations, it says "'<' means 'is trong against'" as opposed to "'is strong against.'"
  3. If Eirika and Ephraim were to split the army between them, who do you think would go with whom, and where would shared units like Gerik be recruited? Bonus points for unit diversity. Currently, I'm thinking Seth, Franz, and Joshua travel with Eirika and she reruits Amelia and Cormag, while Kyle and Forde go with Ephraim. Evryone else, I'm less certain of, but I'd like to keep Ross and Garcia, Lute and Artur, and Colm and Neimi together.
  4. I'd be fine if 60 fps required a drop to 480p, performance is that important. I don't support the way they're selecting characters, but I really want to support this practice.
  5. It is in conjunction with a killer weapon, along with their avoid boost of 5, which partially negates the avoid boost.
  6. In most other cases, I'd agree that 27 is a poor strength cap, but seeing as how Saizo and Kagero (and probably Asugi) have fairly respectable strength cap modifiers and the Master Ninja has a crit boost, the odd crit usually makes up for it in terms of damage.
  7. Are you talking about Quixotic? Ignoring Corrin, you can and should capture Hitaka in Conquest, or just any random spear fighter. and in Birthright, Scarlet comes with a Killer Axe (and is a good example of the avoid penalty not mattering much), but that's an axe which not many can use without reclassing. Off the top of my head and including promotions, six characters can get axes and not all of them make great use of it. How the hell did you get the Barbed Shuriken to be bad? Master Ninjas have a passive crit bonus, high skill, and S-rank in Shurikens. I've had Kaze and Asugi strugle with it infrequently, but Saizo and Kagero wreck house with it, and Kaze gets two chances to crit.
  8. I think it's less don't get lucky and more get unlucky, their crit rates are still fairly high and they don't weigh you down. Killer weapons in previous games ballanced out a chance for high damage with low durabiliy. In Fates, the chance for even higher damage is balanced by slightly lower stats and an avoid penalty that is irrelevant to tanky characters or too small to mater for agile ones. The only characters that really suffer from Killer weapons are classes that tried to be a middle-ground between speed and defense, but those classes were already not as good.
  9. That's still a massive buff overall. -10 Avoid isn't that much, and not everyone needed to be nimble.
  10. Fates' system made some weapons good and some bad. For instance: Killer weapons doing x4 on a crit, combined with the lack of durbility makes them ludicrously over-powered. Javelins/Hand axes being unable to doule severly hindered their usefulness, but Spears/Tomahawks were just bad bows. Those weapons were heavy in games with weight to offset their usefulness, but Fates buffed bows by making most other ranged weapons worse. Most. Shurikens are to bows in FE14 as Javelins and such were in previous games. Other notes: I want my magic triangle back, dammit! I'm not sure how I feel about the implementation of ranged weapons into the triangle, however. I'd prefer a buff to bows being a buff to bows rather than a nerf to other weapons. Keep the 1-something greater than 2 range of bows from SoV.
  11. I like most of the characters, so this wasn't easy. Villager- Gray, for his usefulness as a unit combined with his non-annoying comic relief. Soldier- Lukas, something about his faux-Oifey act towards the start as well as his higher average defense compared to the other soldiers. Cleric- Silque, dat bootay availability goes a long way towards my like for healers, and her dress looks really nice.. Pegasus Knight- Palla, essentially a wyvern rider, which is cool. Cavalier- Zeke, I like his role throughout the series, and he makes an excellent candidate for the villager's fork. Archer- Python, he's good enough gameplay-wise, and he's an incredibly likeable guy. Mage- Sonya, dem titties her involvement in the story and usefulness with the Mage Ring. Mercenary- Saber, cool design, great availability, amazing class. The only characters I don't like are Deen and Atlas, and I haven't goten around to using Deen.
  12. I voted third-tier. I'd do away with reclassing as well if only so each unit could recieve much more visual polish.
  13. When Azama gets 4 or 5 stats up on a level, says this: "Oh, how lovely. Praise Hotoke." What? Who? I don't know any other references to him/her, but I assume Hotoke is some form of diety. Does anyone know? Does anyone have a solid guess?
  14. She isn't Krillin, though. If Lyn dies, the game is over, restart. If Krillin dies, the series continues. I'd argue someone who's death initiates a game over should be more significant outside of the tutorial mode. Granted, that problem could be fixed by making her death not do that. In addition to the conflict, what about changes to the conclusion? Given most of her endings and her significance to the plot, giving her cameo in Binding Blade would mame slightly more sense than giving Kent one. However, if she gets married to Hector, which the game seems to push for, than her disappearance without an explenation makes little sense. Ninian hhas this problem to a lesser degree. She's not mentioned in FE6, but we know she dies of some sickness or another. And then I sneakily edited the original post to mention Hector
  15. In a hypathetical remake of Blazing Blade, should Lyn's role be changed at all? She has no impact on the greater plot, but someone important wouldn't disappear for Binding Blade like she does, especially if HectorxLyn is the canon ship.
