  1. First off - I agree that the are issues with how this route split is handled. However, your complaints entirely miss the point of what is wrong with it. There are probably going to be posts regarding that bit and I do not care enough to make one. I will say this though; the game does a really bad job of telling you that the choice even exists. It constantly hints at something big about to happen with her and Hubert, but instead leaves it to the player to randomly talk to her. From the dialog, it is abundantly clear that Edelgard is up to something nefarious and that there is something shifty going on with the church. The game gives you all the information you need. If you are unable to parse it, that is your problem. In particular, Edelgards dialog following Jeralt's death is basically " could you ever agree with the ideals of the flame emperor, like I do?". Similarly, Rheas dialog when dealing with the western church is clearly indicative of some theocratic tendencies. Moreover, the texts in the library clearly outline the history of the church, further supporting the fact that they are very shady. In addition to all this, Rhea acts extremely weird after Byleth goes super sayan (which you find out later is because she was expecting a different outcome at the throne of knowledge). Amidst these events (and Edelgards supports, which are mandatory to get the option to defect to her side) you discover that misuse of a crest stone leads to the demonic beasts and that the empire/church is engaging in crest experimentation. The conclusion you reach (which is more or less directly told to you in game) is that Edelgard hates crests and wishes to rid the world of them. I really do not understand your gripe with this plot point, it is totally fine from a writing perspective. It seems as if you are going into the game with the intent of disliking it. Do you want to be given the plot in bullet point format before every major decision? What is the point of an important decision if you already know for certain what happens after you make it? How much more obvious could it be that following Edelgard is going to lead to something related to her and the other option will not? Sidenote: omegalul at the fates comments in the OP. The conflict in fates was based on literally nothing (as far as conquest and birthright are concerned). The "decision", by the standards you just applied to three houses, is beyond trash and has ascended in to completely reprehensible. In fates, you do not know why anything happens until Revelations, nothing either kingdom believes is true. Moreover, the motivation leading up to that decision is non-existent (which is not the case here). You were effectively making your choice based on which character designs you liked best.
  2. Disclaimer: I've only finished Blue Lions and currently playing again as Black Eagles. My difficulty complaints are just that, complaints. I loved the game all the way through and I think it is one of the best FE games ever made, and one that brings much needed changes to the entire sRPG genre. Replaying the school session confirms a suspicion I had while playing BL the first time; The main chapters before the time skip are not difficult even on hard. They can certainly be challenging as the game starts throwing monsters and promoted units at you at the same time but it rarely changes how you play. Post time skip the difficulty seemingly increases, with more enemies, more monsters, and enemies using gambits more frequently, but your units are so strong (especially Dimitri in BL) that it kind of doesn't matter. As the main chapters progress, the game does get a bit harder when maps have fast enemy units with ridiculous AS that double everyone except your fastest unit. However, you have so many tools available to deal with these threats that they are always easily manageable. Moreover, monsters become non-threatening after a certain point, even though the game tries hard to spam you with them, as half of your units can solo them (squishy units are obviously still vulnerable). Some of the paralogues are actually more difficult than the majority of main story chapters. They also have more varied and interesting objectives. I believe the reason it feels easy even on hard comes down to a few things ( in no particular order ) : i) You get too many levels by just going through the motions. If you just follow the way the game suggests for you to play, your units end up over leveled. Honestly, you just get way too much exp. The saint statues make this even worse. ii) Paralogue rewards are broken. iii) Some of the units you get are busted (e.g. Petra/Felix/Sylvain) and since you have them from the very start, you can train them to be incredibly strong. For this reason, I expect GD to be the hardest route if you just stick to the GD students. Also, Catherine and Shamir are too powerful for how easy it is to recruit them. iv) The game is obviously not balanced around micromanaging the students at the school phase. You can get really high weapon ranks quite early for little effort and no combat. v) All main story maps are rout/defeat commander. This makes the majority of chapters amenable to rushing by using warp and/or stride. vi) You have way too many charges of Divine Pulse, even without the saint statues. You can be super reckless and the game does not adequately punish you for it. This is similar to a problem Echoes had with the turnwheel. vii) As always, high movement trivializes certain aspects of the game. The movement gambits are too strong (it should have been +2 move or something). viii) Fliers are too strong, as always. Several chapters that have impassable terrain would be significantly harder if fliers weren't able to cross the map with ease. ix) The online features break the gameplay loop imo. You get so much exp for standing in the yellow tiles and there are always a few per map (which is about ~1 level).

  4. So you 're saying that all this time the game has been out, you managed to avoid the fact that you can marry units in this game even though it was advertised plenty?? Totally believable. also if you were truly unaware, what are you doing in this part of the forums , you're essentially asking to be spoiled.
  5. He eventually becomes really strong after he gets through the wimp villager phase,but is it worth it? In my opinion no, not unless you like him and want to use him regularly.Otherwise the time would be better spent on other characters.
  6. I got Nergal for spotpass , his team has the same classes (and numbers) as the faced morphs in Fe7 final chapter(except bishop--> sage now)

This question has been answered so many times in so many threads The post game isn't like FE8.The game does save the fact that you've completed the game (so it can pass fame on to any new game you start) But when you choose to enter the file after completing it , you will keep playing as if you never finished the final chapter 1)You always get 1k gold because at least 1 enemy will always carry the lump of gold item , enemies also usually have some items to drop as well.This pays for the cost of scented boxes on Normal but not always on other difficulties but it doesn't really matter since enough skirmishes show up on their own for you to fight so you gain more money than you lose. You always have money in this game ,you make alot of money during the campaign if you loot all the chests ,and in postgame your characters should be strong enough to farm gold from skirmishes (or buy the gold dlc and and get like 80k each time you complete it.) 2) everything is always available either via stores,travelling merchants or event tiles the only exceptions are sol katti and boots divine/spotpass weapons and goddess staff(? not sure about this one) can be obtained in infinite amounts by replaying the divine weapons dlc but without that each can only be obtained once during the game 3) Fog of war doesn't exist in this game.

  12. They are clones of your units , they have same stats and skills and the best weapons they can wield(besides the falchion and the fe4 weaps) But yeah sticking with weaklings in your team seems to work.

If Lucina's mother is Olivia, pegasus knight is not the good thing she offers since Lucina will have to spend time with an entirely different weapon and and miss out on using her falchion, what Olivia offers compared to other mothers(except MU) is the myrmidon class , that makes Lucina incredibly good when at max level with astra,aether ,royal weapon, and sword expert. Lightning speed is only really an added bonus for her. Also in terms of pairing Krom with Olivia it might be good on normal but on anything harder it's the most impractical pairing for him because Lucina gains nothing from her mother.(unless ofc you grind and make Olivia good ) IMO Soiree/Sumia/MU are much better pairings for him gameplay wise , soiree gives nothing(skillwise) in particular but can give Lucina better bases if she gets used, and Sumia gives the same access to lightning speed as Olivia and MU is ..MU she has better stats ,better skill choices ,gives better reclass options and you can start pairing them from the prologue.
  15. I am talking about sales in the US reaching that point where they just want to milk it for money . Japan sales don't matter anymore for US, it got enough popularity to warrant it a international release , my point was clear when I said "a year from now"the fuck would japan care about DLC sales a year from now?it's not like DLC sells like damn hotcakes(I'm pretty sure we'd know by now if it did.) , the only reason everyone here goes crazy about it is because fanboyism runs rampant in this community and everyone wants to see their favorite character in a redesign. so no I didn't contradict myself I merely stated that stuff will not be added for the sake of commemorating the US release when that time can be better spent at other projects.The dlc might not be content-heavy but it still takes time to make and unless it's absolutely guaranteed to make alot of money new dlc will not be made a year from now , because lest we forget, NoJ makes them ,you really think a year from now FE13 will still be relevant to NoJ business schedule ? There is no denying that alot can be done with DLC .But think of it this way,if they released everything anyone wants (ranging from classes to characters) what would be left for the next game? which is most likely to have DLC as well since it seems that's the direction Nintendo as a company wants to steer in, a little late to the party, but they want to get there as fast as possible and they don't want to get the bad publicity other companies get for DLC so they are "trying" things (lol @coin rush stages DLC wonder what they are gonna try next )

Adding more a year from now on a game like this with DLC that are very small content updates?Unless the game becomes a cash cow for them it's not likely, I think it's you who forgets that people who work there have other projects to work on including planning the next FE considering how well this one did in Japan. Also when did anyone ever think that paid DLC would be in the carts? , maybe marth was but he was free for like a month and half! Having release plans for DLC doesn't mean it's in the cart it means they have a thought out process and don't do things on the fly. Bottom line is DLC this frequent with this kind of content doesn't last for a year, what are they gonna do?give stages with fully maxed enemies with awesome skills? whats the point of difficulties then, since that happens in lunatic already. Hawkeye I understand what you mean (even I though I can't recall any game that does that.) but this game is a first party title that relies predominantly in Japanese sales I don't think they are stupid enough to withhold content from their core audience.
  17. You can gain every skill from any class the characters reclass set(gender in MUs case) allows you to access but you can only have 5 active at any given time also I am pretty sure all of this is on the site, why don't you take a look there it could answer some other questions you might have.

If you mean making it NA exclusive, it's not happening .Withholding content from the japanese audience ? lol Also if I am not mistaken Othin said that current DLC maps have characters with max stats and full skillsets so in terms of that DLC has to stop early fall (unless they want to release maximum everything enemy maps)

Do you mean Jerome?Cause Cynthia's recruitment time is up to the player and her map isn't that hard, she can be recruited right after chapter 13 if tiamo also has a child , she can be recruited after chapter 15 if liz has a kid and ofc after Side18. Jerome on the other hand takes longer because he can only be recruited after chapter 15 if liz has a kid and after chapter 17 normally.But unless you grind it's kinda hard to do it right away.
