  1. Happy Birthday!!! (again)

  3. Eh........not really. Still entertaining enough to play, but very simplified game design, mechanics and whatnot compared to the best of the console fare, though I can recognize efforts were at least made and many prepromotes are cool. That's why I criticize them as opposed to outright pan.
  4. Yeah, well, neither is Paperblade and neither would you be. Lunatic kind of boxes you into a corner no matter what into completing chapters quickly at the end (even should you not want to) before you get overwhelmed. For all I know, save states and other TAS shit came into play with his run because enemy phases are left out, recording is sped up/lacking audio, and so forth. BTW, I don't see where I ever implied I'm special because of those completions. Do I think ANYONE's advice is super important and bears professional scrutiny because they can complete some FE chapter in a handful of turns or less with say a warp staff, whether or not any luck is involved? No.
  5. Killer weapons, magic swords (esp. on someone like Karin), numerous other people with high(er) PCC and accuracy..........who don't need the resources you like to spoonfeed Asvel to make his way to 10/1 or whatever drivel and can lay claim to an early master seal themselves. Uh.........Baldack moves into the city right behind his armor vanguard after that destroys part of the southern wall. Are you dense? Except movement isn't all it's cracked up to be in the game, especially if you have tomes that OHKO (never mind ORKO) monsters or even most human foes, add 10 defense, etc. Characters don't need to be Narron/Zeek quality for one to vouch for their merits. Maps have high enemy concentration outdoors and indoor maps/dismounting to swordlock become frequent later on. Oh, and this is sure to get your speedrunner blood boiling..........only one of two teams can have access to a warp staff until the final! Boundless woe! Wow.......way to illustrate it is YOU who is the fucking retard (on top of having a clearly insufferable, antagonistic and elitist reputation) here. If you'd actually read that thread, you'd realize that I stated I have quantities of both but in moderation and not without foundations/reservations/exceptions to the rule. Pride has nothing to do with it, fucking retard, nor did it ever enter the discussion! Wah, I'm not predisposed to enjoy the company of other people. I don't need pride to feel averse to suffering or conversing with narrow-minded assholes like yourself gladly, did I strike a precious nerv - no wait I don't care.
  6. Asvel doesn't have particularly impressive evasion against bosses even with his supports/Charisma on top of his durability sucking balls. And of course enemy leadership likes to trump/negate Leaf's. Maybe if you add a bonus from terrain it becomes alright but that sure doesn't come into play often when you have to face a FE5 boss.........near the end there are arcane type tiles to boost resistance like Radiant Dawn's, sure, but then it's a cinch for anyone and definitely one of the many other magicians to take advantage of. It's as 'valid' a point in Asvel's favor as it is to dismiss Salem just because dark magic is absurdly heavy (tl;dr? it isn't). Nanna being in range certainly isn't a guarantee either. He can't frontline or get exposed to the amount of enemies like melee and other magicians (maybe even high priest Tina) can due to not standing out in defense, supports, (critical) evasion or magic for the most part. A majority of the bosses in the game are armored or mounted. They don't get paranoid enough to value class-effective over master weaponry themselves. And there's no effective weaponry against a promoted infantry or a promoted dismounted unit that has durability that can stand up to two attacks from a master weapon, the sort of durability that comes into play often. Or something else like a grand surplus in evasion. i.e. Karin has GREAT evasion and considerable magic to threaten any boss, save rare exceptions like Leidrick or some dark bishop, with a resistance-targeting sword.
  7. Prayer isn't a completely worthless defensive skill, but it's significantly worse than the other four you've ranked it with/above. As with Great Shield overall, I could also do without it more than I could Astra/Luna/Sol since they provide durability in their own ways by ensuring enemies die without countering, draining HP, etc.
  8. And bosses really like master weapons, most of which are 1~2 range and get their own two squishy unit killer attacks in first............
  9. Mmmm.........maybe for the prologue chapters.......... Reclassing is certainly in order right afterwards, however. You don't want to be fielding a general towards the end of the campaign and most definitely not a fucking warrior at any point later on. Anyway, I've already cleared Lunatic and Reverse without any rainbow potion.
  10. Or.........why don't you stop sucking Asvel's cock? He is like the Maruju of FE5........except overrated beyond belief. He is far from necessary. You don't need him to kill bosses in FE5 by hoping Grafcalibur criticals except it doesn't and Gomez/Baldack/Pauls/etc. just ORKOs him back like nothing in return. (Brenthunder is actually reliable at killing bosses from the jump.) And kills from that are far from guaranteed because his magic growth and base are unimpressive. He starts off kind of terrible, actually. You have to baby him to get kills before he can start doubling mooks with any reliability. And his durability + potential staff rank never really become 'good' either, whether you promote him early or not. LOL. Sage is a good class in FE5.......that doesn't mean he's worth a spot later on unlike the other candidates.
  11. Paperblade's run sucks, imo. Or what I've seen of it. All it proves is that you can still operate with a LTC mindset if your MU is way below par. I think I'll upload a playthrough of both Lunatic (without both class sets totally unlocked for males) and Reverse difficulties in the near future with a MU that's actually worth something.
  12. The anti-gay marriage stance fits a North American Christian pushing an agenda too far like a glove. I see nothing wrong with the practice........just so long as I'm not involved! Open dissent and intolerance of it are fine, but that said, I'm not cool with amending a constitution on their behalf, WTF.
  13. You know, most people aren't that smart, OP. However social they may behave. Case in point - You know, living is bad for your survival. Eating is bad for your survival, as is sleeping. We're contingent beings--nothing is ever "good" for our survival specifically. It only delays an inevitable (as far as all things appear). Wow........this is what you think constitutes a sound viewpoint on living?
  14. Given the class options and gameplay convenience (particularly on Reverse) - I think it's best not to have a female MU, period.
  15. I thoroughly disliked the first season (or what I bothered to watch of it).Teeming to the brim with crappy actors/characters I don't care for or find interesting (never mind likable) in the least other than Mark Addy and Sean Bean, and wouldn't you know, both of them are killed off in short order! Go figure. The storyline is incoherent, convoluted, overly subplotted medieval hogwash replete with pointless injections of nudity (obviously to keep those who aren't fantasy enthusiasts, apologists, geeks or some equivalent, awake! SNORE) and dopey terminology. Filming is so pristine as if to pronounce it's nothing more than style over substance. That said, I tried to watch the second season premiere (honest to God, I did!) and was bored extremely shitless. I haven't bothered since. By sheer comparison, this practically makes the first season seem as entertaining as your standard FE (even though I still think the first season is shit on its own or any other terms). Sorry.........I don't understand the popularity. It doesn't help that I have kind of an innate aversion to what's made for TV in general. All the same, you can never polish a turd in the end. Polish........is just polish. It doesn't make poor content shine and it can't make me stay awake. *1/2 / ****
