  1. Happy Birthday!!! (again)

  2. So do we have any idea what TYPE of game this is? Like, is it still within the strategy category? I ask just because I wonder if it could be totally something crazy like a fighting game, or something. Not that I'm expecting that, mind you, but knowing Atlus and their affinity for Fighters and how the whole "crossovers" typically ARE fighting games, it just seems like it's within reason at this point. Especially considering how random of a pairing these two were, I think it's not unreasonable. Though, as someone who's never played SMT, it seems to be more reminiscent of a traditional turn-based RPG, where as FE is a SRPG. Maybe they intend to mash the two types of gamestyles together?
  3. I think the most taunting part about it, is the actual design of it is actually pretty good. It's just the pose that throws it off. I only really wish that more creative liberties were taken (a few torn parts and a belt or two thrown on would add a more "Ike"-ish feel, ya know?) Really, it isn't THAT bad. Just not as godly as I was hoping. Roy's redesign got my hopes up too high.
  4. Haha, well thank you. But yeah it was meant to be the former. I mean, proportionally it IS too long compared to real life, but for stylized anime, that's not as big of an issue. I should have summed it up in a more concise point, so i apologize for the confusion.
  5. You're arguing an incorrect point. My point is not that it's wrong because it doesn't match up perfectly, my point is that realistically, the new artwork is NOT too skinny compared to PoR, but that the head shape and the proportions make it seem that way.
  6. That is proper human proportioning. As you can clearly see, PoR Ike has way too long of legs. It doesn't "look it to me", it IS. Why does it have to be realistic? It doesn't. However people were claiming that the new design is way too skinny, but that's not true according to realistic proportions, just that the head is too big. My point was never that FE had to match up perfectly, but that it didn't. Also, we can reasonably say that the artist's goal IS to match up correctly but that's neither here nor there. I'm not too fond of the redesign, but I do agree that they are supposed to look different. However, it's reasonable to expect that their goal is to still capture the character in question. While the design, strictly speaking, is fine, the actual art isn't that great in terms of posture and positioning. EDIT: Far from? No not at all. It's stylized to be skinnier than normal, (and not even that much), but it matches pretty accurately with a young girl. http://www.idrawdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/prop2.jpg While not a girl, you can see that the torso is dramatically skinnier at a younger age. The height is about right, the head size isn't too off. Really the only "flaw" is the stylized skinniness.
  7. For awakening? No, it's far better. The proportions match up realistically. I've seen all the official art and so far, none of it is messed up. What exactly are you referring to? EDIT: ACTUALLY.. come to think of it, there is one example where it's screwed up. Frederick's proposal picture has him with wonky proportions. But aside from that, I can't think of any that are incorrect that aren't meant to be (like Fauder..)
  8. Coming from an art perspective, no he is not too skinny. It's his head. It's just too large, which makes his body look off. Along with that, the hips and leg placement are jacked up, and the perspective is very incorrect (see the cape in the weird pose and his right arm.) The "fixed" version doesn't look like that. It's hips were off and shoulder alignment didn't make sense. You can't properly fix something that's broken like that without redoing the torso. EDIT: The reason that the PoR Ike looks more buff is because the artist sucks at proportioning. The head is WAY too tiny and the legs are ridiculously long. It doesn't match human proportioning at all. FE actually has a bad history with proportioning.... Awakening is way better, though.
  9. Oh, wow.. That's visually quite a letdown. Not to be overly pessimistic but.. damn. Proportions are off and very little creative license has been taken.. Also, the best part about the Hero's design, the shield, was taken out. That's a bit sad to me D: Guess I let the awesomeness of Roy's design get my hopes too high, eh? Ah well, either way, it's here and could be worse.
  10. Gonna have to go with Krom and Azure.. Gaia and Jerome for close seconds.. Krom is just such a good balance of sleek and tough. Like a mix between Marth and Ike. Azure it pretty similar looking too, just with a slightly different style, so naturally i'd pick him.
  11. And, knowing the artist, you know that the pose will be awesome! Okay, i've never played the GC FE games, but I could SWEAR there was a derpy fat chick somewhere in there....... EDIT: AHA! I knew it!
  12. Ah hell yeah B) Can't wait for full art of this guy. He's quickly becoming a favorite.
  13. Yeah, it is part of the Hero design.. I'm curious though.. will the in-game model have the cape that Paris has? Cause that'd be totally badass. All kinds of levels of badass.
  14. Might be a bit slow, but holy hell, this is all epic. SO epic. Not only is Paris a total badass, but he's Ike's descendant. Marth and Ike are, in my opinion, the two coolest Lords.. so now this means that they are canonically intertwined to some degree. So we have Krom, Marth's descendant, and Paris, Ike's descendant, both new badasses, mingling together. I love it!! Oh, plus his stats are awesome.
