I usually prefer the original. But unless the english voice overs are bad (and many times they are bad indeed), I'll prefer english over japanese. I just can't stand the female voices (all sounding like 4 years old spoiled girls or squirrels or both).

I'm so indecided! I've started on Hard as a Newcomer. Reached chapter 4 and tried the first sidequest (with the kid), and for the first time it got a little bit difficult. I'm really rusty. So I've decided to restart in Normal difficulty, leaving Hard and Lunatic for other playthroughs. But now I'm undecided if I should be playing the classic mode, as Normal mode is too easy. Also, am I the only one that doesn't like the pairing thing too much? I like to position my characters next to eachother, but the pairing itself means one less character to play and to receive experience. So I'm always undecided about if I should pair up or not (right now I only do it if I have someone with low HP, to avoid his death).

I've finally played the demo. It didn't let me down. I've played on normal and it was too easy, I didn't have to think at all. Also, I don't know why I was worried who should kill to get more EXP, as this is only a demo with two levels... :D I still have 9 more uses, I'm gonna try the hard mode and then the lunatic mode. At first I thought 10 uses weren't enough, but I think it's the right number. How many times can we play the demo without spoiling the experience when playing the full game? I'm even skipping the dialogues to not be spoiled. I just didn't resist to watch the cutscenes: they really look great. Oh, and after being worried about how difficult it is to read texts on the 3DS and 3DS XL (I have harvest moon with blurry text and monster hunter 3 Ultimate with it's horrible text font), it's a relief too see that FEA's text is sharp and easy to read.

I guess I'll have to wait another day for the demo. I've bought the 3DS when the possibility of a new Fire Emblem appearing on a 3DS appeared. Since then, I didn't give much use to it. Then, FE was announced for the west, I felt relieved that my 3DS purchase was justified. Then Nintendo announced the 3DS XL. I was, until a few days ago, decided to keep the 3DS, but I couldn't resist: I've bought a 3DS XL to enjoy FEA in its full glory. (I know there's a 3DS XL FEA bundle coming, but I don't like the color and specially the decoration, so I've decided to buy the Monster Hunter bundle, black will always be a classic. Also, I prefer to have a physical copy of FEA. :) Thanks for the info, Wheels.

Does anyone know at what hours nintendo usually updates the eshop? The demo will be released on 28th... Does that means it will be available tonight's midnight or will I have to wait for tomorrow?

I'm sorry, english isn't my first language. When you answered me you've said "[The 3DS XL] it's actually less pixelated like I said, because the pixels are spread out further" which I've interpreted as the opposite of what I quoted before "the [3DS XL] graphics aren't as good as the 3DS Bundle because the pixels are spread out". That's true, even if the 3DS XL had a higher resolution, it would have to be high enough for it's bigger size. Lusankya has already confirmed that the resolution is the same, so I assume FEA will look more pixelated (aliased/jagged) on 3DS XL. Well, knowing this helps me to resist to impulse buy the 3DS XL Bundle. :)

In your previous post, you've said the opposite " the graphics aren't as good as the 3DS Bundle because the pixels are spread out". Now you're confusing me. I've assumed that if the pixels are more concentrated, the less noticeable is the aliasing. I just don't know if 3DS XL has the same resolution as the 3DS. If not, I wonder if FEA was made to take advantage of the 3DS XL's higher resolution or not. If the resolution is the same, then I guess it will look more pixelated (aliased) on 3DS XL.

I've bought a 3DS last year, anticipating Fire Emblem Awakening's release (yes, I've only decided to buy the console when the game was confirmed for Japan). I'm not using it (played Ghost Recon in the beggining a lot, a little bit of Mario that came with the console and haven't even touched Harvest Moon and Zelda yet, after a year or more). Now that Fire Emblem Awakening is coming here, I'm tempted to buy the 3DS XL bundle. But I'm afraid I'm just hyped and I would regret later, as I don't even play the 3DS now, I can imagine I won't touch it again once I'm through with FEA. Unless someone here says the XL version is clearly better, I think I'll save the money and just buy the physical game for my 3DS. So here's a couple questions: - Does FEA look more pixelated (aliased) in a 3DS XL? - Is it easy to "read" what's going on in the smaller screen (can we see and distinguish well the NPC on the map? Can we read comfortably the dialogues?)?

What does this mean? Doesn't the 3DS XL just stretch the images to fit it's bigger screen? Or does Fire Emblem Awakening really show another more detailed interface when it detects its running on a XL?

I've bought the magazine a couple days ago (digital) and I'm disapointed. Since Fire Emblem was on the cover, I've expected more "substance" about the game. It was just a short review that doesn't say anything new. I almost feel cheated about buying the magazine.

Hi! I'm in Europe, so I don't have access to the demo. I would be thankful if anyone could check out if the game has subtitles available for the cutscenes. The few youtube LPs I've watched didn't use subtitles, but I don't know if it's because of native english speaking people who don't need it or if it's because there's no option for that. Thanks :)
