  1. You saving and loading from the right location? Occasionally I'll have brain farts where I save somewhere else for some reason then forget to pick that new location when I'm uploading the replacements.
  2. lol I like it. Main problem for me is. It's half about getting it to look good, and half me trying to get it to look like people I know. Especially for a lot of these starting characters. I actually like the little shading above. The only thing I can't do is the shading on the lower left chin. Mainly because while it's not as easy to see with this character since he's dark haired. But the lighting generally comes from the left side. Guess that's going to be my little 'signature style' so to speak lol. So light on the left and shading on the left tend to contradict. I might grab a bit of the antialiasing on the hair in the above though and a bit more on the right side. I can't change it too too much like give bright eyes as much, it would look good but my friend would be like "HEY! Now it looks nothing like me, I'm not that pretty!" lol. I had friends make me change my personal portrait (my newer avatar) because I looked too pretty, or my jaw wasn't distinguished enough lol. Friends can be picky. Though I guess this style generally developed because they kept saying change it so it's turning out ok, my original sprites were a loooot different, these are way better than my first attempts awhile back lol. Though it is just interesting seeing what people do to it. Especially if I start seeing people splice my stuff if they want later lol. ---------------------- On a side note hopefully can start doing more, kind of caught between two little projects was doing the FE hack with a friend then he dragged me and some friends into another little game we're doing on G+ so working with that for a bit. Then normal stuff in life keeping me busy. I'll probably crank out some more portraits at least theyr'e usually the easy part of my hack since I don't mind just drawing stuff. While hacking though, I have to get into a mind state, focus on story aspects, maps, gameplay etc etc etc. And I can start adding the small versions to the same posts. I'll still just tack em' to the first post also because I like seeing the 'library' of portraits grow lol.
  3. Did a reaaal quick once over. You'll have to fix it yourself and decide what to change. But things I mainly did. Gave it a forehead, at the same time shrunk the hair a bit, ditched the fanglike hair where the forehead would be since it doesn't fit. Also ditched the fact that the hair is completely vertical. The human head is a sphere for the most part where hair is, it curves around it. Fixed the big issue I noticed of the eye not having any bone structure on the left. The human face isn't a big circle there's dips and curves Bad example but I'm just typing this up quickly http://thecoolgadget...-angle-view.jpg but notice how just below the eyebrow the skull dips in slightly. Also moved the eye one pixel to the right and added a pixel to the left. Also upped the chin on the right a bit and sunk the cheek in on the left a bit. But anyways it will at least give you a vague idea of where to play around with Still many issues but don't have the time to do a thorough once over, the general face structures kinda messed up and I'm just vaguely messing with stuff, you'll have to actually fix things up and make them look nice with the hair and such yourself.
  4. lol well it's hidden behind 2 other characters until they vanish. Then it's just showing for a little bit. Either way it's not that big of a concern to me can't be helped lol.
  5. Yeah, this ^ It's in the chapter data editor module.
  6. I fixed the little sag on the one NPC but I really don't feel like uploading another shot as it's just an NPC. I just removed the sag altogether should be fine. I'll probably fix the smaller version eventually on the main page but, later. Not having a good day lol Ok 2 more. If your thinking to yourself "Hmmm.... your sprites look too similar to your other sprites". There's reasoning behind that for a couple of these. Then I did a little sprite facing forward for a world map event to add interest. Whoops added a row of extra pixels at the bottom of that last one. Ignore that green, that's not there in the normal game. Also like always from now on the normal sized ones are in the very first post of the thread
  7. What do you mean chapter map screen? Chapter map as in preparations screen? If so you remove the battle prep code. But you won't have a battle prep. Or chapter map as in world map? Which then you just remove the world map events.
  8. O______o Not to be the guy that just pops in to point out the obvious. But always...... ALWAYS. Have multiple backups. For everything you do. Especially patches. Besides that wish I could help sadly I don't know.
  9. It's black and white so I can't tell if the weapon the guy stole was green, because he killed the guy. So if the enemy had it so the player gets the last item once the enemies killed then that explains the 'thief' sword' Otherwise I'm curious how a weapon attack can steal.
  10. No forehead as said above, but also the right eye is way too far to the right. Move it 1-3 pixels to the left. The start of the eye lies usually where the edge of the nostril is on the human face. Though since it's anime and there are no nostrils you'll have to guess. http://i269.photobuc...Beauty/gc_1.jpg
  11. Event assembling: http://serenesforest...showtopic=25360 http://serenesforest...4 You already said you use the Ultimate Tutorial. Keep that bookmarked too. Also once you have Event Assembler downloaded there's a document in there that has all the language. aka all the coding you'll need for pretty much anything. Look there first to see if it answers your questions too. Arch also has the above 2 links in a video format which helps a lot in getting started when you don't understand squat. Map making/Insertion: There's a mappy tutorial but I far prefer Tiled as it makes tile changes, villages, etc real easy. http://serenesforest...showtopic=35944 World map events: Don't bother with this until you at least have a basic chapter inserted and have a decent understanding. Since it's basically similar but different. http://forums.feshri...?showtopic=3957 Weapon icon editing: Figure I'll throw it in there since it's among my bookmarks. http://serenesforest...showtopic=25610 Whatever else you can't find search the resources section. And what's very handy is to just do a google search like "site:www.serenesforest.net 'insert key words here'" That tends to help find answers to a lot of more obscure questions. Oh yeah and tools for animations, photoshop or gimp with pencil tool and usenti. Though I only use Usenti for the requantize feature to limit the colors to 16 since most images don't work unless they're 16 colors or less.
  12. I was going to try to write how to explain it but what the hell, here I just did it overtop your picture. The left and right eye on this guy don't match up where they're looking. My two revisions would be him either looking left or right based more on the original two eyes and where they were looking. Zoomed in so you can see the pixels and what I mean. Though all I did was move either the left eye or the right eye a single pixel. I didn't touch anything up. Just giving something to think about for when you fix it. Whoops since I cropped it can't tell easily who it is. Guy with the greenish jacket.
  13. Good spot, It was originally sagging skin on the regular npc in the chin but I think I wiped out the sagging skin on the other side without thinking. That will be edited with my next group. Hit 2nd page apparently. All the normal sized portraits are on the first page, top of the page. My regular posts are zoomed in pics for a better view, easier for crits and what not. Though I guess I haven't posted anything yet on this page.
  14. Couple more plain NPC changes. Just some small stuff. Like usual now the regular size is added to the 1st post while this is just the zoomed in version.
  15. True, I'll probably just upload a more normal size portrait in the 1st post then along with the zoomed in on my new post. I'll just add all the ones so far to the top of the thread a bit more shrunk down. Originally I wasn't going to do 100% but realizing my Screen res might just be a bit too high. So I'll add the 100%'s to the top Edit: Ok, should be 100% sizes at the starting post while I'm posting 300% size in my new posts.
