  1. I think they aren't doing it anymore because, outside of additional work related to more animations, stats, etc, it removes the unit's weakness tied to their mount by dismounting, and in the newest games bar SoV, they've been pretty prominent (at least I feel so, especially after Conquest's maps revolved all around fliers). I'd like it to come back though. Personally I enjoy to move a flier around and not be restricted by a shitty archer placed right in their way (you don't always have the right unit to kill the shitty archer by your flier' side). Also horses indoor look kind of silly.
  2. I remember you. Now everything makes sense (I think).
  3. The amount of passive aggressiveness in this post is astounding. You know something I noticed in recent years? That some of Awakening's most loud haters actually started the series with it or after its release. They started hating on it because surprisingly, contrarians will always hate what's popular, and have wayyy to much spite towards the new titles. But I hate it when all older fans get thrown under the bus with those spiteful haters. We're not all like that, some of us like Awakening and Fates, some of us dislike them, some of us like them less than the games prior to them, some of us like them more, etc. The older FE fans who did not like the series' new direction and bitched about it are now either gone from the fandom and series, or stopped caring about this quarrel (because trust me people are not all masochists); usually (and hopefully) after a certain age people have better things to do than loudly proclaim their hate for a videogame. I'm really tired of seeing people demonize and criticize older fans even as of today. Or even giving us subtle jabs to the older games such as "that approach evidently was not working as well as Nintendo wanted". The usual argument: Awakening and Fates MUST be the best in the series because they sold the best... You don't know the kind of magic a damn good marketing strategy and casual mode can do, and you don't know how much the new games need a spin on the Awakening formula already. It's definitely not evergreen like Pokémon's, and I can guarantee you that a lot of new fans (who do like Awakening and Fates) would not like IS to give us children and marriage for a third time. Also I want to remind to everyone that IS is giving a lot of fanservice to older fans through games like Heroes or Cipher's artwork or Echoes. They are not like other companies who throw our support and money away.
  4. I did not like the White Wings in this game. I found all of them annoying, except mayyybe Palla. Est was definitely the worst. Grating voice and dialogue aside, I still won't forget what she does after FE3. Her supports with her sisters in this game only make it worse. I'm not particularly fond of Tatiana either, but I'm definitely more neutral on her. All of that aside, there was no character I truly disliked.
  5. The ninja cave is both intriguing and a chore. My Xand died to Kotaro due to my idiotic errors, after turns and turns of cowardly turtling, and I did not even like him enough to reset.
  6. Sengoku BASARA and Samurai Warriors... Two franchises, one genre that every reviewer hates... Which one has the hottest peoplez? Only you can decide.
  7. @Harvey You should definitely try out Hard after Normal, if you feel like Normal is way too easy. Hard (IMO) the most sane difficulty. For example, on Hard, your units don't get two shotted on the first chapter, while IIRC on Lunatic, everybody does bar Freddy (correct me on this if I am wrong). The only issue is that Hard tends to have ridiculous jumps in enemy stats. Still, nothing that grinding can't fix if you have a large team! I must also add, the game is quite fun on Hard with no Pair Up. I'd definitely try that out if you get tired of Hard but you find Lunatic too frustrating to tackle.
  8. Sexy avatar, man.

Ay, Holmes is that dude tho

  9. I want try to preorder it. So glad the game had an almost-worldwide release. Sucks that it got leaked, but I'm not getting spoiled like with Fates. Watching a LP of that game before release really ruined my experience with it.
  10. Maybe they meant that male Corrin's design is extremely boring. Female Corrin's design won, in general. Aside from Niles yaoi fangirls and waifufriends I don't see much love for him, while Female Corrin gets loads and loads of fanart, and from a lot of sides of the fandom: from self insert people, otome fans, hentai artists, etc. It shows how, in the end, design can be crucial in liking a character. A lot of times people will like one just for the design alone. Do you think Etika and the fans from Smash love Corrin's compelling personality? Also in general the milquetoast kind gentle pacifist personality clicks more on a female character than on a male one, as much as this stinks. No wonder yaoi fangirls are the main fans of male Corrin, since emotional boys are so loved in the genre, and I wouldn't be surprised if some guys generally found him too much of a wuss for them to like him. Characters like Hector and Ike, ruthless and with few forgiveness, are much more enjoyed by them. I'm not talking about everyone now though, just making assumptions from having observed the fandom.
  11. Patria, Calla and Es----- wait...

  12. Copypasting my post in the actually visited thread: Ok, to me, the absolute main appeal of Warriors is characters, THEN gameplay. This is why I can't play it more than one hour or less of Warriors (unless I really like the character I am using). It's repetitive and it only gets you if you really like the gameplay. It's not the matter of steamrolling hordes of weaklings, but the tedium of going through boring maps with boring graphics (aside from the beautiful, beautiful characters) along with a rather boring story (unless you like who you are playing as, again) and an unsatisfying battle system. If your battle system only gives me X X X Y type combos to work with I am not going to be amused. Characters tend to be divided in types and those in those types feel samey to play... I prefer to have a smaller cast who all play differently, less focus on the strategy and more on the action. Because really the main point, at least from what I have played, seems to be the light strategy element: aiding allies, getting bases before XYZ does, etc. Sometimes it can get interesting when the outcome of the same battle plays differently, but... yeah... not my thing. I'd rather toy with movesets and get high combos. However, I'm not even qualified to talk about this since I only play on normal, lol. If you are a Warriors fan you can bonk me on the head now. SENGOKU BASARA 4EVER So am I excited for FE Warriors? Not really. I'll probably just look at screenshots and be happy with it, or buy the second version used. Especially since it will probably draw characters from the games in the series I like the least. I'll tell you though, I dream of playing as Hector and defeating hordes of puny GBA soldiers, or playing as Sigurd on his white steed crushing everything that stands in his way.
