  1. Hi! I've been playing Fire emblem for years now and I've finally gotten up the guts to play lunatic in Awakening, and I was wondering who's the best marriage partner for each girl? I'm not going by support convos, I want to make all of the kids as strong as possible. BTW, my MU is a girl, but I'm pairing her with Frederick, and I'm pairing Chrom with Sumia. Both of those pairing are non-negotiable, but as far as everyone else; fire away!
  2. So here's a little fic I've been working for a while now on Ao3 and Fanfiction.net and I'd thought I'd post it here as well. It's a story revolving around the future kids and exploring what their lives were like before jumping back in time as well as chronicling the events that lead up to that point. Now any and all feedback is very much appreciated and should be put into the feedback thread which I'll link to in the spoiler. Anyway without further delay here is Fire Emblem Awakening: One Last Chance Chapter 1: A World of Despair The blood red sky loomed over the fires of a burning village. A demonic chorus of moans harmonized disgustingly with the screams of terror echoing through the wind. A teenage girl with long blue hair and a tiara backed further into the alleyway. Two purple and monstrous humanoid figures stood before her and blocked her only exit. The one in the front wore nothing but arm gauntlets and torn up brown pants. Its abdomen was well defined and muscular and it looked clearly strong enough to cleave a building in half with the axe nestled into its hand. The one behind it, however, was thinner and wore much more clothing as torn up as it was. Instead of an axe, this one opted for use of a long silver broadsword. However despite the differences a couple things remained the same. Four glowing red dots glared at her through the decrepit old masks mard with rows of jagged teeth. A purple mist billowed forth from their bodies and oozed onto the floor. Several ragged breaths escaped her mouth in seconds. Thick drops of blood trickled down from the endless amount of scars coating her body. Pain seared through every point of her body. She gripped her sword and winced as her legs spread into a fighting stance. Her body was beginning to reach its limit. A tug at her shirt prompted Lucina to look down. A little girl with short brown hair gazed at her. Her eyes sparkled with tears glistening in the glowing flames around them. A mix of blood and dirt stained her small brown dress. She smiled down at the girl. “Don’t worry, I promise everything will be okay” The girl smiled back but not soon after a sharp growl pulled their attentions forward. The sharp edge of the axe met her gaze and immediately her sword darted through the air. With a clang of metal, Lucina blocked the risen’s strike. Her teeth grinded against each other as her feet slid backwards from the force of the strike. “G-get back, now!” She ordered. The child simply nodded and ran further back into the ally. Lucina took a deep breath and after mustering her strength, rammed her shoulder straight into the risen. The undead monster staggered back and wobbled for a bit before swinging its axe once more. However, this time Lucina expected it and swerved to the side causing the axe to crash into the ground. Now without any hesitation, the young lord lined the tip of her blade with the center of the risen’s chest and lunged forward. The risen’s entire body halted for moment as it glanced down at the long golden blade protruding from its chest. Lucina gripped her sword’s hilt and with a yell pulled the blade up and through the risen’s neck and face. With a shriek of pain, the undead monster dissolved into a purple vapor. Heavy ragged breaths puffed into the air as she winced from the pain pulsing in her arm. Alright that’s one down. She looked up and for a moment her heart stopped. Nothing but flames and corpses met her gaze. Where’d the other one go? “Heeeelp!!!” A painfully familiar high pitched voice rang through her ears. Her eyes widened at the realization. Quickly she spun around only for her heart to sink. a large purple mass loomed over the small girl quivering against a hard wall of cobblestone. There’s no time! Lucina charged the risen only for a sharp pain to cause her to faceplant into the stone pathway. She tried to push herself back up only to be met with more throbbing pain. She managed to lift her head and met eyes with the terrified girl. At that moment timed slowed to a crawl as the world around her crumbled. Tears filled the girl’s eyes as her lips began to move. “You promised” she said as the risen’s sword began to fall upon her. Her heart stopped at the utterance of those words. A torrent of despair slammed into her body and whipped through her anxious mind. There was a loud scream, followed by blood spatter and then silence. The promise was broken. The two halves of the girl’s body slumped to the ground as a dye of crimson dripped from the risen’s blade. Her stomach yanked at her throat as she suppressed the bile rocketing upwards. Her eyes screwed shut as she turned away from the sight. She couldn’t stand death. The mere thought of it filled her dread but it was something that was all too common in this despair ridden world. However, slow footsteps pried her eyes open and back towards the risen slowly advancing on her. Her heart began to sprint through her body as every instinct in her body screamed at her to move. Though any attempt to do so was only met with an excruciating pain. Was this it? Suddenly, A loud shriek of pain pierced the sky as a javelin whizzed through the air and struck the risen clean in the face. “Bullseye!” Lucina heard a familiar voice shout out. Large feathered wings slowed to a stop as a bright white pegasus landed beside her. A young girl in pegasus knight armour with short hair in pigtails colored in the exact same shade of blue as Lucina’s own rode atop the mighty steed. “The great hero Cynthia Strikes again!!” the girl said as she hopped off her pegasus. “Woah woah woa-ahh!” Her arms flailed about in the air before she fell face first into the cobblestone path. Lucina sighed at her sister’s clumsiness. “Owww” Cynthia whined as she pushed herself up and twirled around. “you okay Lucy?” She asked with an outstretched hand. “I’m fine, thank you Cynthia” She said as she was pulled to her feet. “Are you sure?” Cynthia raised an eyebrow, “cause it looks like you can barely stand!” “I’m fine really” Lucina reassured as she sheathed her sword. She then turned back to Cynthia, “Besides I thought I told you wait for me back at camp” Cynthia’s eyes glided to the floor, “Yeah I know but you were taking so long that me and snowflake got worried and besides...” She faced her sister once more as she struck a heroic pose, “A great hero is never idle!” Lucina’s heart fluttered a little at her sister’s beaming smile. She’s just as cheerful as ever. The young lord sighed, “Alright I suppose it’s fine” “Sooo where’s that woman’s daughter you went to go save?” Cynthia asked as her eyes wandered about the alleyway. The question stabbed through Lucina’s chest as no answer followed. Cynthia’s pigtails drooped as her eyes landed on her answer laying behind her, “Oh…” “We should go back” Lucina said. Cynthia simply nodded as she helped her sister onto Snowflake’s back. In no time at all they were airborne. -------- “Wh-what do you mean you couldn’t save her?” A village woman in tattered clothing and brown hair stared at Lucina in disbelief. “I’m so sorry I…” Lucina hesitated for a moment as chains began to wrap around her heart. “...the risen overwhelmed me...th-there was nothing I could’ve done” Pools of tears began to sparkle in the woman’s eyes. Lips and eyelids quivered uncontrollably. Hand-like gates erected over her face as a loud heart wrenching wail of despair exploded into the air. Lucina’s heart sank as she watched the scene unfold before her. Her fingers wound tightly into a fist as her nails dug into her palm. The slaughtering of that girl clawing at her mind. “Emily!!!!” The woman cried out her daughter’s name. “I’m so sorry” is all Lucina could say as she moved a hand to the woman’s shoulder. The distraught mother swatted the lord’s hand away. “Sorry?” She said before glaring at Lucina with her tear ridden face, “YOU’RE SORRY?!?!? SORRY WON’T BRING EMILY BACK!!! SHE WAS ALL I HAD LEFT IN THIS DAMNED WAR TORN WASTELAND!!!!” She shoved her finger in the young lord’s face, “AND YOU LET HER DIE!!!! IT’S YOUR FAULT SHE’S GONE!!!!” Lucina could only stand in silence. There was nothing she could say. The woman was right after all. If only she hadn’t been so weak, then perhaps she wouldn’t have failed to save little Emily. “Hey! Lucy tried her best ok!” Cynthia suddenly interjected as she pushed herself in between Lucina and the village woman. “Cynthia” Lucina whispered to herself. “Well she should’ve tried harder!!” The woman spat as her glared smouldered down to the younger of the two sisters. “It’s baffling to think that she is the heir to the exalt name!! Had lord Chrom been here instead, this never would have happened!” Her glare then rose back to Lucina, “He was a strong and model leader that cared for his people” She pointed at Lucina once more, “She is weak and will never be the exalt her father was!” Those last words slammed into Lucina like a hammer smashing through plated armour. Again the woman was right. Cynthia’s face scrunched into a glare “Well I’d like to see you do better! You probably wou-” “Cynthia that’s enough” Lucina grabbed onto her sister’s shoulder. “B-but Lucy-” She looked up and her pigtails immediately drooped into a whimper as she looked into her older sister’s hard stare. The young lord then addressed the village woman, “I apologize about her” The woman merely scoffed and turned to fade into the darkness. Cynthia swatted Lucina’s arm away as she turned to face her older sister. “Lucy why’d you let her get away like that? She was saying so many mean things about you so why? Why didn’t you say anything?” Lucina looked down at her sister’s wide eyes that sparkled with concern. Those same eyes that sparkled at her when their father died. “Because she was right” Lucina said without a hint of emotion in her voice. “Whaaa?” She reeled back in surprise, “Don’t say things like that Lucy!” Cynthia grabbed Lucina’s shoulders and began to shake her sister, “You’re the exact opposite of what that lady said! You’re super strong and a fantastic leader! Father would be nothing but proud of-” “ENOUGH CYNTHIA” Lucina shot out. The shaking came to an abrupt stop as Cynthia let out a terrified squeal. Lucina brushed off her sister’s hands, “I am weak” She said, her voice laced with venom. She put her hand to her chest, “I failed to save that girl because I was weak! All I could do was watch as she was mutilated right in front of me! So no, I’m not as strong as Father so please repent from telling me otherwise!” Cynthia’s eyes dropped to the floor as she noticed a couple tears drip from her sister’s chin. Maybe she had gone a little too far. Lucina took a deep breath and began to move a hand over to her little sister’s shoulder only for her sprint away into the darkness. And just like that, her heart slammed into the abyss. Her eyelids began to twitch as her vision began to blur in a foggy haze. Hand-like gates covered her face as a desperate wail began to crawl out of her mouth. “F-father why did you have to die?”
  3. I must admit, I barely remember Awakening. I played through only once on Hard Classic back in the day and at this point I felt like I needed a bit of a refresher. Now I wanted to see how Lunatic was like, and similar to my Lunatic Conquest I was curious how it would play without using the combat effects of pairup, but knowing how integral they tried to make that mechanic in Awakening I was uncertain if this run will be entirely possible. I have seen forum rumors of someone on another forum claiming they beaten a Lunatic no-pairup run, and theories that it is possible, but neither of these were particularly promising, so I did wait until I unlocked the ability to summon teams from the battle box that could be battled to grind before just to test how possible this run will be before committing to an LP. I suppose it is about time to set down some ground rules: 1. Having a unit that is paired up engage in combat is a reset worthy offense. 2. Having a unit paired up that could have been targeted on enemy phase is a reset worthy defense 3. No paid DLC (as I do not have any) I will also restrict the amount of off screen grinding I do based on reader feedback. Now I will still use pairup to increase my maneuverability on the map, so expect liberal use of the pairup, transfer, swap, and separate commands to give me a tactical edge. Also do be warned if things get dire enough, I may leave units dead on the field of battle, but I will try my best to keep everyone alive. Now for reader convenience I will start by try to have updates separate into 3-4 spoiler tags, as I will be looking at the story and supports I get I will separate updates into supports (if applicable) opening story, chapter, and ending story section. I guess it is time to start
  4. Hi, I think something is really wrong with FE13. Not something like durability, gold costs, shops upgrading far too slowly compared with the ennemies' weapons (like when you have access to steel while the ennemies get silvers and you get silver or killer when they get braves...), beast stones being a myth before chapter 10/12 and dragonstone being barely enough before beating Gangrel (just before getting access to the shop that sells them...a shop selling transformation stones...for real?). That's certainly a stupid design but Awakening wasn't a game for logic, coherence. It was a game for fans and new comers to enjoy and play with adaptive difficulty (with really high gaps between each difficulty and the return of FE6 stupid EP reinforcements). No, what I'm addressing here and now is...THE most awfully balanced stat. I mean, RESISTANCE. You know, a stat very useful for late game, mid game and not deniable for early game when ennemies power creep each chapter before staying still for 5 consecutive chapter just before the mid game power creep. When you take damage from physical ennemies while magical attackers take out 1/2 of your HP in one attack. With D ranks. Cordelia, your bulky offensive pegasus, has 90% in HP, 60% in str, skl and spd, 45% in luck and def and...35% in res, starting with 8 res level 7. Level 20 she'll have on average 12.55 res. Level 20/20 Falcon knight she'll have 17.1 res not counting promotion bonus. Magical ennemies in late game deal 35-40 damage easily, even the ones who use 10 range tomes hit more 30-35 without difficulty. A pegasus, class made to tank magic damage and kill mages before they slaughter your whole team, takes 20 damage on average from each of those mages who manages to hit her. Sumia starts at 7 res level 1 and has 40% res. Level 20/20 she has an average of 22 res without promotion bonuses. Still taking 15 damage per hit on average in late game. Maribelle has 6+2 level 3 and 55% growth, average of 25.8+2 as a troubadour/walkyrie level 20/20 without promo bonus, and 24.whatever+2 as a war cleric. A unit whose only defensive stat is res still takes 12 damage on average in late game, and her 18 base HP and 65% growth don't let her the pleasure to face tank magic while any physical ennemy can come in and finish her at 60% HP (15% def growth as a valkyrie and 20 as a war cleric, 75% hp as a war cleric). Lissa is even worse: starting at 4 res, with 50% growth as a cleric and downgrading to 45% after promotion, she has 22 res on average without promotion bonuses, with 70% hp growth as a cleric/sage and 80% as a war cleric. She's a healer with the same res as a physical unit (Sumia) in end game, starting with less res than said unit. Nowi has 2+9 res with dragonstone and starts at 18 HP, with 50% res growth. On average level 30 she has 16.5+9 res (25.5), the same as Maribelle before res +2. She doesn't get any promotion bonus. Even your hybrid hyper tank has only 60% magic damage reduction without abusing seals. This game was completely balanced around multi-reclassing instead of being balanced to be enjoyable with base classes and normal gameplay. You can't even choose to de-activate the attack stance mechanic, so if you wanna play old school, you loose your support bonuses. Avoid has been severely cut, with spd *1.5 instead of 2 and luck *.05 instead of 1. So in a normal game you have your highest dodge/res magical tank/mage killers who take 40-55% of the damage magic attackers deal and they have 37+2 spd 30 luck (Sumia), 39*1.5= 58.5; 30*0.5=15; 58+15=73 avoid. The ennemies who target Sumia have ~140% hit rate, they are higher than 60% hit rate. Awakening has craptastic res levels even on the highest res units, and res growth per class is incredibly low: 10% for pegasus, 5% for mercenary, like pegasi and mercenaries were supposed to have nearly the same res...seriously? Nowi at 50% res! Myrrh had 7 base res +20 in FE8with 30% growth at level 1! Fae had 6 base res +20 with 50% growth in FE6! Nowi is pure trash compared to these! Not only on the res part, but also on the def with 2+15 base for Fae with 30% growth and 2+15 base for Myrrh with 150% growth! These manaketes barely took any damage from unpromoted ennemies in their joining map (at least Myrrh since I didn't go so far in FE6, too boring, maps are too big you spend entire turns just walking), while Nowi get 2 shot in her joining map with Gregor backpack increasing her def and more base HP! Her only good point is having more uses of dragonstone and getting dragonstone + by the end of the game, not salvaging her awful start and unability to do anything once she inevitably breaks her first dragonstone while levelling up to get on par with your other units without getting any kind of bonus exp (no paragon, no exp *1.5 or other kinds of bonuses from GBA games), unlike the GBA manaketes who could reach level 20 in 19-30 fights and keep 20 uses at max level to kill the most dangerous ennemies, while having no 2 range allowed them to tank ranged attacks without loosing durability; Nowi hits at 2 range, and thus looses durability so she breaks her dragonstone much faster than the other 2). Even Tiki, with 12+9 base (normal dragonstone, not counting dragonstone +), only reached 18+9 (27) res while having the highest res growth of all of Awakening's cast, simply she joins already at level 20, not helping much, and her recruitment chapter on anything above normal is really annoying, with late game level ennemies, every one of them flying, packing on your weakest units with 40+ damage each while you had to maintain a turtle-like formation to take the incoming ennemies out and then go kill the next ones before coming back to turtle again and again for like 10+ turns before you can finally end that pain by rushing the boss with your best units and torture them to make them pay for this awful level design they have nothing to do with (thanks Intelligent Systems/Nintendo devs for this game so purely made of brute force and suicide, it feels like playing The Lord of the Rings instead of watching it, but you don't have many parts where you can kill the boss to end the chapter). This game is a pain for these reasons, and I miss my magic nullifying units each time I play awakening without playing dread fighter. Oh man, why did they put so much damage AND accuracy on every single magic ennemy in the game? The prologue already sends you to hospital with it's mages. If you have tips on how to get a mage killer invulnerable to magic without using second seals like 3x in a row or having 10+ levels more than the ennemies (well it's the same since you have 10+ levels more than them at that point) with the rare anti magic units. And without nosferatu involved because it breaks the game by existing and being buyable from chapter 4 onward as long as you have gold... For me it's like, let your mage killer behind and send them kill the mages, until you get to Valm and the mages become dark knights who tank all damage better than your units tank theirs... and you've got to risk your more physical oriented units to finish them off cuz your mage killer left them at 40-50% HP... So in the end, I say "F*** off, this game is not a T-RPG, it's a hack n'slash, just grind your way through the 50 ennemies who deal 70% of your damage each and come 5 by 5 on each of your units". It always ends like that. I'm not into puzzles. At least I finished this game twice. I didn't even get to the 2/3rd of Fates because it has no story to keep me in and gameplay also becomes boring or map design annoying at certain points, and I quit because I'm bored. I did FE8 like...15 times from the beginning to the end, 10x creature campaign, completed lagdou ruins so many times I don't even recall (I was into min-maxing my units), stopped more than 50 playthrough during mid game and hundreds around chapter 6-12 but I can't even get to chapter 19/20 of Fates and Awakening becomes boring during the Valm arc, and ends up completely boring after the Valm arc, when you don't even feel like there's a point in continuing to play, because any random encounter is harder than the main game anyway, DLC are harder, and unit balance is just about who get the most second seals and the best skills. I feel like Fire Emblem has gone out of it's genre, Awakening being the one at fault for taking a 180° bend from Fire Emblem, downgrading everything introduced in the Tellius series (rabbit is worse than anything in Tellius games, I even preferred the herons although I hate dancer-like units outside Fates), the height/balcony bonus/malus has vanished, the indoor movement malus to mounted units has vanished, allowing mounts to return to their all around domination in rushing tactics and in Fates cavaliers even benefit from elbow room, one of the most OP free damage skills in the game, and they have it from level 1. Transformation takes no management again, has no drawbacks unless weapon durability is a drawback (more for Taguel than Manakete who can buy dragonstone + anyway from the beginning), so manaketes can freely attack/counter at 1/2 range, I feel like this game just wants you to play the same way as in a hack n'slash: maximize your sustain and damage, and go slaughter waves of ennemies after waves of ennemies. Team building is limited by open maps with a mix of flying ennemies, cavalry and foot units, meaning you can barely use squishy supports from the Valm arc onward, you have nothing to answer the 10 sages/sorcerers with 10 range tomes too far for you to reach, while they can eat half of your units' HP in one attack or 2 while being virtually invulnerable until they have used all their durability and become useless. So, now I'll literally play Awakening like I play Diablo 2 and 3, grind and slaughter waves of ennemies who now can't scratch you anymore cuz the game allows and encourages you to be 20+ levels above your ennemies. And forge like your life depends on it, because 1RKO means less possibility to be RNG-screwed. End of...is it even a rant?
  5. Ok, I'm gonna to talk seriously.................. Well, many Fire Emblem fans are shipping Robin Boy with Lucina as a love couple, and I don't want to be canon. To be honest, It's canon this love shipping? Because, the FE Awakening and Smash Bros. fans are liking this couple, I don't know Intelligent Systems and Nintendo are going to confirm is canon this couple?
  6. Lucina/Laurent: My favorite pairing in Awakening. The two have similar personalities in a "No Fun Club" kinda way. The S-Support was written well in an attachment to the A and flows nicely. This pair clearly could rewrite fate with Laurent's smarts and Lucina's wits. F!Morgan/Laurent: Tomestackers! I love these two, and the support is cute and playful and shows Laurent in a less serious light. My M!MU approves of his daughter's husband. Brady/Cynthia: I found all of Brady's gestures toward keeping Cynthia safe adorable. Sure, it may have been fueled by a crush, but I find the dynamic so cute. A scary priest and a bubbly flier? Also, their ending was cute. Nah/Yarne: Nah's best support hands down. M!Morgan's with her's is fantastic, but I feel like this one always shines for me. Nah is the root of some pretty bad supports (Inigo, Laurent, Gerome S-Support, while the rest of the supports are humorous), and she really shines in this one. Not to mention how it really has Yarne get one leg over the fence that is his anxieties, unlike most of the others which just has Yarne's wife vow to protect him. Stahl/Cordelia: Makes a fantastic Severa, born out of fantastic love. Cordelia finally isn't just a Chrom obsessor, and it shows a musical side to her. Stahl trying to impress Cordelia since the C and B support really hammers this support down as one of my absolute favorite pairs, since it flows so well into the S Support. Lon'qu/Panne: Two serious people. Lon'qu is afraid of women, and Panne has a distaste toward humans. The dynamic and chemistry they have due to matching personalities hindered only due to fear/dislike, made for a really interesting conversation. Lon'qu promising to make Panne Feroxi tea every morning really got me........... Frederick/Lissa: Such an interesting and lighthearted support, but done so well. These two didn't need to improve their relationship that much. They've known each other for a while, unlike how most supports are between people who only met because they're Shepherds. They didn't really need a serious support, and I couldn't imagine a better support for this couple. - Lucina/SIBLING: Really world-building and throws a lot at us with Chrom's lines at the end of the A support. The fact that the dialogue can really match M!Morgan/Inigo/Cynthia's personalities works so well since everyone finds these three to be the best pairings. The B support is really sweet and tear-jerking. Laurent/FATHER: Expands upon Laurent's past and shows why he's so much older than the others and why he watches out for his father and friends even more now. I used to not do the sibling/parent supports, but after completing all of them, I found this one to be high up there. Inigo/FATHER: Almost the same as Laurent's. Explains why he's such a happy-go-lucky flirt and gives us serious Inigo. Nowi/Tharja: Shows how Tharja can actually be a very nice person. Very basic "both people improve themselves from this support". Tiki/Say'ri: I'm glad that these two got to support each other, due to how much they can impact the story in Awakening's latter half. Very basic support where Say'ri watches over Tiki and confesses to her how much she respects her.... The A support............. girlfriends
  7. Note: Feel free to move this topic if it’s in a bad place. Sometimes, (mostly in the newer games) you read a support conversation and think, “that was bad.” Whether it’s a P/C that doesn’t take the Non-Determinate parent into account enough, an S-Support that comes off as awkward or loveless *cough*FredrickxCordelia*cough*, or just a support that had incredible potential, but eschews interesting character development for the purposes of being “funny.” Well, as an aspiring author who has been thinking about these supports for a while, now, I thought I’d take a stab at being better than IntSys. List: (Requests accepted) Henry and Noire P/C C-A Corrin and Camilla C-A Hinata and Oboro S
  8. Hi Tonight it's FE Awakening that makes me happy. I've tried it before, abandoned it but I'm back at it. I have few supports (mostly from automatism when I reached chapter 2) like Fred/Chrom C, Chrom/Lissa C and such, like 3 or 4 total. I use dual attack as little as possible (I generally pray for no dual attacks when I can't position my units any other way). Pair up is only used for mobility like rescue in older FE. My team is: -Kellam (knight/11.96): 27 hp/ 15 str/ 0 mag/ 11 skl/ 7 spd/ 5 lck/ 17+2 def/ 2 res B lances -Stahl (cavalier/15.08): 34 hp/ 17 str/ 1 mag/ 17 skl/ 14 spd/ 11 lck/ 17 def/ 4 res B swords (1 fight for A) A lances (paired up Chrom on him for +1 damage on Valdar, otherwise he had 5% crit rate with 18 or so damage, 24 damage was all I needed and Chrom pair up+silver lance allowed me to win without any losses, could've let the boss come but I was too hasty) -Sully (cavalier/11.89): 27 hp/ 12 str/ 3 mag/ 12 skl/ 14 spd/ 13 lck/ 13 def/ 2 res B swords B lances (used the Finn lance to display 0 crit rate from Valdar the Weak annoying Chick) -Frederick (great knight/4.48): 32 hp/ 15 str/ 2 mag/ 14 skl/ 10 spd/ 8 lck/ 17 def/ 4 res B swords B lances C axes -Lon'zu (French translation) (myrmidon/10.28): 24 hp/ 8 str/ 2 mag/ 18 skl/ 18 spd/ 10 lck/ 9 def/ 3 res B swords -Lissa (cleric/11.61): 26 hp/ 2 str/ 8 mag/ 9 skl/ 7 spd/ 16 lck/ 5 def/ 8 res C staves -Maribelle (troubadour/6.15): 20 hp/ 1 str/ 7 mag/ 5 skl/ 6 spd/ 8 lck/ 5 def/ 7+2 res D staves -Virion (archer/11.51): 27 hp/ 10 str/ 1 mag/ 17+2 skl/ 10 spd/ 11 lck/ 10 def/ 3 res (if only he had better bases...) B bows (I was blessed with 2 giant bows, used only 1 for all the 10 uses) -Chrom (lord of neverused/9.64): 26 hp/ 12 str/ 2 mag/ 14 skl/ 14 spd/ 8 lck (he should have way more!)/ 10 def/ 3 res C swords (5 move, no vantage and sword locked, so many downsides I'll only raise him for late game duel against Valdar) -Ricken (mage/8.16): 23 hp/ 3 str/ 11+2 mag/ 10 skl/ 7 spd/ 14 lck (amazing, boss tank for those annoying gamble/thunder tomes shenanigans)/ 7 def/ 5 res (he actually knows what defensive stats mean) D tomes (1 hit from C) (soon he'll be able to wield B rank tome which gives bonus against other tomes ^^) I don't see any reason to use Gaius, Panne (Palne), Vaike, Miriel, Sumia or MU (Classic) since their bases aren't wonderful and their performance in this type of run isn't the best (MU no skill until lv 10, which isn't what I call a skill so nothing until promoted lv 5 and tactician skill stat kinda sucks balls so activation rate for ignis would be inexistant anyway). I didn't even recruit Donny, his exp served Lon'zu very well before chapter 6 and Ricken and Virion levelled up once or twice too, thanks and R.I.P in your village Donnel, your potion will be useful. I plan to use: -Say'ri (vantage built in, high weapon rank, correct base stats especially magical stats for a physical class), -Henry (got an Aversa's night on the tile close to the boss in the prologue so might as well put it to use), -Cherche (Zelcher is far better of a name IMO) (Haar/10), -Libra will replace Lissa or Maribelle (maybe Lissa cuz less move), -Anna will replace the last one remaining, -don't know if I'll put the effort into Nowi (magical tank/10 but those shit tier base stats and hard joining map for her really suck) -or Gregor (quite bad as a mercenary each time I didn't reclass him, unlucky mercenary/10), -Cordelia (I might be able to kill Gangrel if I pump exp into her and get her to 20/5 falcon knight for rally speed in case she can't solo him and his 23-ish speed OMG most annoying thing about him, that's why Nowi could be useful for, those annoying 25-40 magic damage bosses others can't double without a +8 in speed), I think it's good for now, some of them might even not find their way into my team or some will vanish (Freddy Mercury will soon be replaced, Rev!Gunter/10). I'd love it if Panne was a Radiant Dawn/PoR cat, but sadly her class sucks as much visually as in stats on top of 1 range lock AND early game stones having only 50 uses then wait on the bench for chapter 10 boss kill to get the next for...the chapter where the boss has magic damage, crit rate and speed on top of accuracy, and there are many high damage ennemies + heroes and mercenaries with actual hit rates even if you're standing on a castle. Now that I think of it, Anna with rally speed could double Gangrel with like 2 level ups in speed, if only she had damage and more base res...and maybe an actual sword rank since C is Lon'zu's sword rank at level 4 unpromoted 5 chapters earlier...maybe Lon'zu could kill Gangrel if he decides to proc strength more than once in 10 levels with a silver/killer sword. TL;DR: See? I've rarely been so enthusiastic about Awakening. I don't have 20 def on anyone (yet), I don't have 5 res on anyone (yet), I don't have 19 spd on anyone (yet) but I'm excited, I have to think of what unit to do what task, I have to use more offensive strategies and for once chapter 5 wasn't a pain since full deployment was really useful on the map control with annoying wyverns going everywhere in little scattered packs (I like this paradox). It feels more like playing Radiant Dawn than Awakeshit (AKA Backpack Emblem, which I completed with a Kellam backpack Chrom with Chrom being promoted only for Valdar 1v1, then on hard with Ashnard's woman general as a dark knight or paladin, can't remember but it was a thematic run). Sure no reclass cuts some great units such as mercenary Donnel, Wyvern riders, and others but it feels more legit (I ended up changing units' classes in GBA FEs because I was too used to units being in other classes than their own or being reclassed). Finally able to enjoy more Radiant Dawn gameplay in a more recent and portable game, although walls can still be shot through, no balconies for bonus/malus to hit rates, no canto (for the best or the worst, being ganged up by a 6 cavaliers pack felt really bad, like a gangbang when you're not willing to give yourself in the first place), no Haar (Zelcher starts underlevelled but with good bases, the opposite of Jill in RD with bases inferior to her level's standards and her trash base strength on the second highest strength class, tied with Nolan for lowest strength on a strength-specialized class), no availability bullshit (sure I'd like to play Mr and Mrs Ferox before the endgame but they're not given for 4 chapters then taken back for 80% of the game and coming back largely underlevelled in the final chapters, with only one being relevant but seriously, I find Muharim completely OP, can tank forever even in hard as a human in Part 1, not taking any damage from bosses in tiger form, and comes back with still 34 or 36 def as a tiger, enough speed not to get doubled and high strength, this guy is Skrimir's Oifei like Duessel is Ephraim's, maybe even better than Duessel except neither him nor Skrimir can transform any time they want).
  9. Hey, I'm new here so if this isn't the right place to ask this please let me know. I've been wanting to add swords to the Griffon Knight class in Awakening to differentiate it a bit more from the other flyer classes. Where could someone who knows very little about modding go to figure out how to do this? Or does anyone know of a project that already does this?
  10. So I've been playing through awakening again and I've been really digging into it's plot this time around and overall it's pretty good. I feel awakening's story is better than what people give it credit for. Awakening is a story about failure and working to overcome it. It's a story about being pushed past the point of despair that follows a trail of failure and being able to pick yourself back up and move forward. A simplistic theme but I feel it executes on it well and no where is that more prominent than in it's main antagonist Grima. Grima is a force of nature villain. He is a physical manifestation of failure and the despair that results from it. When you fall, when you stumble, when you fail, you always tell yourself "one more time" "I'll get it this time" in order to stay positive and try again. However for every time you decide to roll there's always this lingering voice in the back of your head telling you to just give up. It asks "what's the point?" or "If the end result is just gonna be the same, then why try at all?". Grima is a manifestation of that voice. Grima is what happens when you take those feelings of despair and give it physical form. He's arrogant and powerful. He's constantly saying stuff like "you can't save your future" or "you can't defy fate" why? because you've failed to do it before so what makes this time any different. Robin failed to make any meaningful connections which lead to him being unable to defy his fate. The consequences of which created Lucina's future which she to failed to save. It's these failures that fuel Grima. It gives him something to exploit. He has succeeded before so he's going to succeed again. Failure should be a teacher. Failure can be a good thing so long as you learn from it. What makes Grima so arrogant is that he believes humans can't learn from their mistakes. Time and time again have humans fought pointless self-destructive wars that do nothing but halt progression. They learn nothing from these wars as the new conflicts that arise show. So if humans can't learn from their mistakes and grow then why not destroy it? If you can't seem to succeed no matter how hard you try, why not just end it all? Again that is what Grima represents. He is a physical and constant reminder of all the failures you've had up till this point. He is that voice telling you "you can't do this". It's easy to give up and just end it all. It's easy to succumb to those self-destructive thoughts but you don't. You face those feelings head on and push forward and that is how you conquer those feelings. Grima's representation of failure can also be seen in the idea that he can never be truly killed unless by his own hand. You can always try and conquer this voice and those feelings with the help of others but they're always going to come back because whether you like it or not those feelings are a part of you so the only way to truly get rid of them is to accept and face them outright. accept that they are a part of you and face them alone.
  11. Was contemplating creating a character who has an ancestry of Dragon Laguz in their bloodline that managed to make their way into Fire Emblem Awakening's Realm such as Priam had. My question in this regard is... What would happen if a Laguz's descendant was descended purely from Laguz and Taguel ancestors? Would they still become a Branded or would they evolve to be more like the Taguel of today? Would something else happen entirely? We know the following in regards to Laguz interbreeding. Beorc+Beorc= Beorc Laguz+Laguz= Laguz Laguz+Beorc= Branded Taguel+Beorc= Taguel But what would Laguz+Taguel equal? Can't wait for some responses here as I'm genuinely curious :3 Laguz+Taguel= ???
  12. SPOILERS LAY AHEAD! (Used to explain idea process) Hey there everyone, so to sum things up I'm a little new to Fire Emblem. I've played some of the games in the past and have just started getting into the lore but I enjoy the role playing aspect as well. My specific question is based on looking into the creation of an OC who is descended from a Laguz line of dragons or a Wolf Laguz. I wasn't sure how to go about this and was wondering if it could fit into the timeline of Awakening or if I should base my OC on something else. I kind of wanted the OC to be a descendant of Rajaion and/or Ena's line since they were the only canon Laguz dragons to have an Unnamed Child which could lead to a Descendant but the likelihood of any of them surviving to Awakening's point is slim to none (As shown with Panne's supports and the persecution of Taguel) at the same time the Dragon Laguz bear enough resemblance to humans/Beorc to pass as one in a human/Beorc form so I believe there could be a slim, if somewhat far fetch'd, possibility of this working out. Priam was another source I looked at since he is a descendant from Ike, a character from Rajaion and Ena's time, as well. This isn't really based on game play mechanics (As I don't believe Robin can class into a Taguel or Manakeet form) but rather on the idea of creating a fun OC to play as in Fire Emblem Awakening Role Plays. I'm willing to make a different character of course which is more human/Beorc based but I enjoyed poking at this idea and was wondering what you guys thought :3 Would it work out? Why or why not? How would I manage such a character to fit into Awakening's story and lore without making it a Mary Sue or Gary Sue? Other questions I worried about was whether or not Laguz could be considered as the ancestor of Taguel and if the character should be a Taguel instead. Manakeets and Dragon Laguz aren't related as far as I know so I didn't see that idea working out to well. But again, I'm open to all sorts of ideas and or interpretations of this :3
  13. So, I plan on making some written works here, and I decided to make his so you can understand who I have paired up with who. All of these stories will take place in the same universe... sort of. Basically, in this universe, there are: -2 separate Awakening timelines -2 separate Fates: Revelation timelines -1 Smash World that brings them together. This accommodates for each Corrin and Robin of each gender. Before we get to the pairings, a few notes in the spoiler below. Anyways, the pairings: Awakening: Robin timeline Awakening: Reflet Timeline Fates Revelation: Corrin timeline Fates Revelation: Kamui timeline If there are any thoughts and concerns about the details here, let me know.
  14. I tried a run where i reclassed instantly robin as myrmidon, and if you want my opinion, it wasnt that bad! He is still a myrmidon, im planning on making him a sword master. Tell me what you think! (and maybe let him marry WHO and WHY) DONT SAY TO ME TO CHANGE CLASS XD
  15. Hi there! I'm going to do a Fire emblem awakening PMU, I need 14 units to be picked, this is excluding Chrom and Robin, (You can pick their classes) I would be so very grateful if you guys would help me out and pick the unit's I'm going to use and their classes, thanks so much!
  16. I was listening to the Awakening soundtrack earlier today and when I got to Id(Sorrow) I noticed that whenever the Id track, and it's variations, play it's always when Robin is involved and the particular variation playing is reflective of the situation. For those who don't know the Id is part of Freudian Psychology and is representative of desires and hidden memories. Examples would be: Id(Serenity): this mostly plays when Robin is at peace or has attained an S-Support and represents their desire for peace and love. Id(Beginnings): This plays at the very beginning of the game, the main menu, creating your Avatar, etc. It represents the repressed memories and amnesia Robin has at the beginning of the game. Id(Purpose): This plays only during the Endgame. It reveals Robin's desire to kill Grima and the resolve they have to sacrifice themselves for peace. Fittingly, after defeating Grima the Serenity variation plays. Thoughts? I personally thought this was genius and each variation fit the situation well. On top of this it's a clever way of giving Robin a bit more depth than the main game gave him.
  17. These are notes I have made that might link this game to Evil dragon. Spoilers for Awakening and Echoes Endgame. This is what I gathered so far. (not too much) Evil man with white hair (magic one) might be Forneus maybe. Or better yet, Byleth with that "hidden power?" Here is something interesting I noticed: The symbol looks "somewhat" similar but what strikes me is that the evil man symbol has 6 lines around a center point like the Grimleal symbol possibly hinting that this is grima with his eyes closed (to show he is not born). Maybe this "religion" are working for old man/Byleth to begin the creation of Grima maybe to gather dragon blood. (this is not explained) I had a horrible idea that probably won't happen but what if Sothis is killed for dragon blood? Really this is just me coming up with a theory for this symbol that we know nothing about. Also the Valentian Endgame wasn't long ago so maybe they planned to have this connected? P.S. Probably just a coincidence but just wanted to point out some "links" . Had some other points but felt like they weren't worth talking about. Just something while I desperately wait for release.
  18. Just as it says on the tin. Weekly, I will prompt discussion of a certain pair and their supports (whether or not they are of the same gender). Whether you like the pairing, what details there are that possibly change things, etc. If SoV is wanted, I will change this up. I’ll give my thoughts on a pairing later on in the week, after reading up on the support myself. First one up is a favorite of mine, Robin (M) x Tiki in Awakening. Edit: Now note that we will talk about one person from now on each week. As of this writing, that is Male Robin.
  19. So, I'm at an impasse not sure to continue or stop and say this is where I got in Lunatic. I love Awakening and have beaten it many times and likewise have tried Lunatic many times as well. Just in the past week I've managed to get further I ever have (which usually resulted in me quitting at around ch5 cuz I hated the early levels). It wasn't bad once I got out, but I did have to reset a few times. Now I just hit Ch 15-17. I think 16 was Mila tree and that was nuts. It was my first non-full deploy and just rushed chapter. Now I'm on Ch 17 and some of my units aren't promoted, but a good half are, but the promoted enemies are just killing even my MU. I hear all this talk that it really trivializes the difficulty when you grind (and I won't Nos-tank because I don't reclass my MU ever so that's not even a thing for me). I have been doing skirmishes until they got too hard as I don't consider them grinding as they are part of the game, but have yet to touch the DLCs. I know I'm close, but from my time playing hard so many times is that the later chapters are annoying (personally). Awakening as fun as it is for me the late chapters are just hellish devils and have terrible map design and enemy placement. I just feel as if I grind my run is shit and what not, but I would like to complete it. I guess what's getting to me is all the stuff I read about people doing it no grind and such...not like I know any of the people on here or on other sites I read it from, but just makes me feel like I'm bad...IDK. I once read an old thread here from like 2014 that some people do minimal grinding? They don't overly grind, but do like a DLC like every 5 chapters or so for the lower peeps? Thoughts? Advice? Should I just throw in the towel now?
  20. Exactly what it says in the title. Not counting Team Spotpass [Gangrel, Aversa, etc. and the Einherjar], Robin or Chrom, who overall out of Generation 1 is your favorite? And not for baby making- I want pure, statistical and personality-wise reasons to use each character. Personally I can't possibly see any future where I don't use Kellam. I don't care if he's a high- or low- tier unit, he's quite a tank and makes a pretty strong General, too. Oh, and you're not allowed to pick Flavia and Basilio only for "joining late with high stats." That's cheating.
  21. It's been a few months since I last played Awakening, and I'm in the mood to replay the game again. However, I'd like to spice things up a bit this time around. Something more than a typical ironman or no-grinding run. I'm not really looking for anything specific. As long as it doesn't require hacking, I'm open to ideas.
  22. Hey all. I booted up my Awakening cartridge to find out that I didn't have my Lunatic+ save loaded, and it appears I have also lost my backup ;-; So I have decided I'm going to replay the game through Lunatic+, and I want to have all the most 'optimal'/'best' pairings. Now I've decided I'll probably be going with some sort of +Mag male avatar, and will most likely pair him with Cherche, if not Lucina. With this in mind, I would like to ask what are the best pairings in Awakening? Please and thanks.
  23. Yep looks I'm the one doing this one because as @GrandeRampel has said in his fates version of the thread we did this for all the other games so it's only fair. Anyway Standard rules just make a hypothetical awakening banner with either a GHB or a TT reward though no Panne or Yarne because Laguz. Anyway here's one idea I had for a kids banner: Nah, Cynthia, Laurent, and either Severa/Inigo/Owain with maybe an Aversa GHB

  25. Alright, now follow me on this. We could obviously do the "Walhart is one letter off from Walmart" thing, but there is an obvious connection between the two if you look deep enough. Well, there are multiple, so lets go down the list. For simplicities sake, we'll start with Walhart. 1) Walhart rules the continent Valm. Valm is Valencia, the Kingdom of Valencia was started by Alm. What color is most prominent on Alm? Blue. What color is Walmart famous for? Blue. Connection number 1 2) Walhart has multiple generals, one of which is named Excellus. Excellus is also the name of an iphone app. Phones are sold at Walmart. 3) Walhart comes with the skill Conquest. Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest can still be found at Walmart. 4) Another one of Walhart's generals was Cervantes. Cervantes is the last name of a famous Spanish writer. In his most famous book, "Don Quixote" (which could probably be found at a Walmart, but that's the easy way out), the main character lives in the La Mancha region. With La Mancha, we get to the movie "Man of La Mancha", an adaptation of a book by Dale Wasserman. Dale Wasserman died in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and guess what's at Paradise Valley, Arizona, A WALMART SUPERCENTER. 5) Walhart is voiced by Richard Epcar, who also is Ansem in KH3. KH3 is coming out for PS4 and Xbox 1 (again, can be bought at Walmart, but we're going in further). PlayStation is made by Sony, whose head office is in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The Minato region of Tokyo is well known for the Tokyo Tower. The Tokyo Tower is 1,092 ft tall, making it the second tallest thing in Japan. You know what else is the second tallest of something? John Rogan, who is the second tallest person in the world (or was, he is dead). He lived and died in Tennessee (there are Walmart in Tennessee, but that's too easy, we did that last time). Tennessee is currently going through it's midterms, and has a few candidates. The Democratic nominee is Marsha Blackburn, who was just endorsed by Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is a friend of Ed Sheeran, who recently played at the Nashville's Nissan Stadium. But while in Tennessee, you know where Mr. Sheeran went? That's right, he went to Walmart to get some pajamas. BOOM! If you have any other Walhart Walmart connections, please inform me of them immediately
