  1. So i'm not a veteran of Fire Emblem, I've only played Awakening and now I'm playing Fates, starting with the Birthright path. So I've been thinking on how exactly I should reclass my avatar, and most likely other units, but i'm not sure about how to go about doing it. In Awakening I didn't actually know about reclassing and stuff for the skills till like midway through. The path I went for with most characters in Awakening was to: level them up to their max level in base class --> upgrade to an advanced class and max level them --> reclass to another class for skills --> then back to their original advanced class since I like keeping them at what they're supposed to be But it seems like in Fates there are some limitations which would not allow me to do this, so for example, if I'm currently a lvl 16 Nohr Prince, and my 'talent' is Samurai, how exactly should I go about doing things if I want my avatar to have Astra/Swordfaire and/or Lethality I've been thinking a lot about like who I should marry (I'm having trouble choosing between Hana and Kagero, though Felicia or Azura seem pretty good too...) and what skills I want for all the 2nd gen characters and such... So if you think you can help me out in choosing who I should marry and which would have the most benefits (with stats and skills) and explain if the reclassing thing better for my it would be very much appreciated! (Thanks for reading and sorry if you feel as if this was too long and/or went off topic, I ended up just putting all my questions onto this post)
  2. Corrin(+Def,-Mag)/Caeldori (Hinoka) Kaze/Azura Jakob/Setsuna Silas/Hana Ryoma/Mozu Takumi/Oboro Saizo/Felicia Kaden/Rinkah Hinata/Kagero Azama/Sakura Hayato/Orochi
  3. There are enemies who have like 0 in one or more stats. Examples general with 0 defense ninja with 2 speed berserker with 15 HP Is there are a reason behind it or is it only a normal mode exclusive thing?
  4. Okay I know I did a stupid thing but I couldn't resist. I married Felicia but afterwards I realised there just aren't enough females for the rest of the males, so I can't get all the children. I'll make another save file so I can get them all. ): I'm really confused on the rest of the marriages though. What should I do? I decided to ditch Silas' kid because I don't care much about him anyways. I'm. just. so. freaking. confused. Here's what I'm thinking: Kaze/Sakura (already done) Takumi/Azura Saizo/Kagero Ryoma/Orochi Rinkah/Azama (cause I don't care about them) Hayato/Mozu Kaden/Hinoka Hinata/Oboro Subaki/Setsuna Jakob/ ??? what? there aren't enough??? Sigh. Next time I'll marry Caeldori cause she'll always be best girl.
  5. I'm extremely curious about the Omega Yato. I was doing a my castle battle in a random castle and something weird happened. My Soleil, whose skills are Vantage, Counter, Rend Heaven, Astra, and Lifetaker, attacked the enemy avatar who had the omega yato equipped. I thought "Ok, i have 30 hp, whateves she dies for the castle battle no big. OH WAIT, she has counter, so i should kill him if he hits" however, with his 44 dmg x2, counter didn't activate. My question is, does the Omega Yato nullify counter? because Soleil was attacking adjacent to him, yet it didn't activate.
  6. I'mnewtotheseforumssobeniceplease. So I'm playing Birthright, and I'm a really indecisive person when it comes to pairings and I could use some help. These are by pairings: FEmui x Silas Hayato x Sakura Orochi x Saizou Hinoka x Subaki and here's where the pairings get really indecisive: Ryouma x Kagerou/Rinkah leaning towards Kagerou on this one but I heard Rinkah is okay Takumi x Oboro/Hana/Mozu Hinata x Oboro/Hana/Setsuna Azama x Bench Felicia/Maybe Setsuna Throwaway pair really but I'm open to suggestions, heard he's actually a physical unit. Azura x Kaze/Kaden/Jakob Kaze x Azura/Mozu/Rinkah Heard Mozu makes Midori OP, heard Azura can also do the same broken Miracle thing and makes for a great Shigure, Heard Rinkah helps Kaze a lot with stats or something Kaden x Hana/Azura/Mozu And Jakob can die alone. *sigh* Jakob x Flora Azura, Mozu, Kagero
  7. I noticed that Effie and Arthur don't appear during the scene at the end of Birthright chapter 23, does that mean they were killed or do they just retreat? MODEDIT: dude the eu just got the game
  8. After almost a year's wait, I finally received Fire Emblem Fates two days ago ^_^ I decided to go with Birthright first (thank you to everyone who advised me to start with Birthright!) and I'm 12 hours into it, and on chapter 12. Long story short: I love it. Pros: The map designs. Holy cow they are amazing. They're much more interesting and beautiful and a lot more detailed than Awakening, and I love how the camera actually zooms in the map when you fight! It's so cool! The MU. I see a lot of people saying they don't like him, and I know that he's not as intelligent as Awakening's MU, but that's what I like, that he's so naive and simple-minded one can actually relate to him. The world design. Nohr is similar to a typical Fire Emblem realm, but Hoshido is something entirely new (at least to me, I haven't seen anything like Hoshido in a Fire Emblem game). We have a brad new world to explore and I love how it's based off traditional Japan. Kinshi Knights. I fell in love with this class AT ONCE. Honestly, I love how Reina just kicks ass all the time (as long as there aren't any archers around). The support system is much more simplified. My Castle. Seriously, who doesn't love this feature? The music Cons: At times it misses the 'Fire Emblem' feel. I don't know how to explain it. Sometimes there's too much fanservice, its not like i dont like it i totally freak out over it i love it oh my, but I prefer it when things are serious. Can't think of anything else! Feel free to comment your pros and cons! I'd love to hear other people's opinions.
  9. I'm just wondering which one I should play first or if it even makes a difference which one I play first.
  10. My cartridge currently holds the power of Gay Fates Hack, Twin Kanas (male & female Kana), and save editing. Meaning that soon, I'll have a my castle available with every skill unlocked on every character + hair colour changing abilities + class changing abilities + every gem "My castle" resource + much more! I'll be sharing my castle when it's complete so everyone can get access to abilities and / or characters (recruitment) for every revelations character. However, to finish this I'll need to get every character. Including the second generations characters. Here is a list of all the pairings I currently have and / or considering (???) as marriage pairings. I'd like everyone to suggest their favourite fan pairings, with no limitations attached! This meaning everyone can marry anyone, including second generations and "special" characters (i.e Scarlet, Gunter, Flora etc) Current Pairings: * Odette (MU) x Rinkah * Ryoma x Scarlet * Leo x Niles * Odin x Elise * Subaki x Felicia * Azura x Hinoka??? OR * Hinoka x Camilla??? * Kaze x Silas * Keaton x Mozu * Kaden x Setsuna * Saizo x Orochi * Takumi x Selena * Hayato x Sakura * Nyx x Arthur * Laslow x Charlotte??? * Benny x Beruka??? * Hinata x Beruka??? * Azama x Oboro??? Revelation Characters reference: http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/revelation/character-recruitment/ + DLC characters, such as; Anna, Ike, Marth, Lucina, and Robin (possibly?) My Castle will feature a daily character and / or skill change daily (if I have the time.) But you'll be able to request from multiple sources to have the characters + skills changed as you'd like them.
  11. I'm surprised I didn't see a recent thread about this already.
  12. Yep, another pick my unit, but this time with a theme too. I'll probably not be doing a lets play, but I do want to do one more Birthright run to go over the story/for fun in case I missed anything. Anyway, the only thing I have preset is - F!Corrin that is going to marry Ryoma. "Good God, why?" Because he has a child named Shiro. This is Shirou Emiya. His father is voiced by Matthew Mercer, both as Ryoma and Kiritsugu. So I had to give him that red-orange hair somehow. Anyway, the rest is standard PMU stuff. 1) If you want a second gen, tell me the parents. 2) Physical appearance and name is already chosen for FeMu. Boon/bane/talent is up to you guys though. 3) I don't have money for all the DLC, but I do have two Dark Flier wings, two Dread Scrolls, Lodestar, Great Lord, and a pick of either Witch/Ballistician. 4) Shiro and Corrin must be used. They are the only two units who are 100% to be used on the end team. That's about it. I'm ready for you Phillius. 1) +Mag -Lck Witch!F!Corrin 2) Swordmaster!Shiro 3) Swordmaster!Takumi 4) Spear Master!Oboro 5) Dread Fighter!Rinkah 6) Swordmaster!Hinata 7) Swordmaster!Hana 8) Dread Fighter!Saizo 9) Paladin!Ryoma 10) Great Lord!Mozu 11) Oni Chieftan!Azama 12) Mahou shoujo!Tsubaki 13) Priestess!Sakura 14) Dark Flier!Orochi!Caeldori 15) Basara!Kagero!Kiragi 16) Kinshi Knight!Hinoka
  13. Some characters just rub you the wrong way at first, and you just think they're a simple joke or stereotype. But then they do or say something that makes you see them in a new light. Mine was Arthur. I thought he was the average superhero guy who sucks at his job. I still liked him no problem, but earlier today I was looking through his Support conversations in the Japanese version of the game, and was shocked to discover one of his talks with Effie. To summarize, he asked how was Effie a better retainer than him. She responded something akin to "because Elise was my friend before I was her retainer." The next conversation was a followup answer to Arthur's question, saying that he was "too fickle". He responded by saying that it's simply how he is; he helps people in need, not simply Elise. Effie responded with saying that kind of attitude is just fine. I thought he was doing it simply for the possible fame and accolation, but it was simply because of how much of a good person he is. From what I understand, they flanderized him in the official translation, which is unfortunate. But I'll always respect Arthur for the man he was supposed to be.
  14. What characters have emerged as RNG victors in your play through? What units surprised you with their strength or usability? For me, I've been shocked by my Effie and Camilla!Velouria. I expected both to be strong at least, but it'd be a lie to say I don't tend to end up supporting these two as they (and their Pair Up partners) run around causing mass murder. It's a beautiful thing, really.
  15. Hello everyone of Serenes Forest! After completing Fates in it's entirety, I decided to do a run through of Fates with a twist: Bond units only. RULES Before we get into the meat of things, a few things to note. I started this on Reddit, were I posted by rules I would be using for this run. Here are the rules: Lunatic Mode. I would use a Corrin chosen in the style of a PMU: first poster would get to create the Corrin. The First poster would choose the route. I would also use Anna’s Gift, a free DLC that gives the player either a Sighting Lens or a Witches Mark. All units are free until the accessory shop is built and on the chapter they are recruited in. This does mean that I will use Battle/Visit gifts, and will use Shimishes and DLC to grind Bond Units, as Bond Units are born at level 1. I would like to thank Reddit User Mr. Duddles for the creation of this run’s Corrin: Cordigoth (+Luck/-Resistance), Male, tale, and with messy Pink Hair. In addition Mr. Duddles also chose Anna’s Gift: The Witch’s Mark. I would also like to thank Reddit User /u/NautilusMain for choosing the route, as Duddles deferred to him. He choose Birthright. Now lets get to the good part: the run itself. Prologue: Ties That Bind Our story begins in a perfectly peaceful war tron and bloody battlefield filled with death and destruction. How quaint. Anywho, as this is the prologue chapter, there is nothing much to note as the game tells me things I already know. Cordigoth the Mighty Pink One goes to town and makes all the people fall down. Turn Count: 2 Total: 2 Chapter 1: Nohr Our families start fighting because what else would you expect them to do? Thankfully it was all just a dream. We have important things to do, like train with the mighty Xander! Yea its a pretty easy chapter due to still being in tutorial mode. Nothing much to say besides stick a fork in it we're done Turn count: 5 Total: 7 Chapter 2: Gift of Ganglari We pay a visit to Evil Adopted Dad in Castle Doombad and learn that the EVIL HOSHIDAN SCUM must die horrible deaths because. Also lets overact because why not. I first have Cordigoth and Felicia take the right with Gunter on the right, and then just flip flop their positions until victory. Turn count: 7 Total: 14 Chapter 3: Journey Begins After failing to kill the Hoshidans due to this strange thing called Mercy, Cordigoth, plucky maid, aging meatshield, and the totally not evil Hans the Evil-Berserker-That-Always-Appears-At-Some-Point-In-A-Fire-Emblem-Game head to the Bottomless Canyon, which I hear has no bottom. After doing nefarious things, Hans starts the fight, and off we go. Using a quick pair up Cordigoth and Felecia swoop in and take out the two samurai on the bridge. After taking one look at the very fortified position on the other side of the bridge, we decide to make our own using Dragon Veins. We use the first one to make the bridge and sneak behind the fort that way. However..that attracts the attention of the bridge guards. We decided that retreat is the better part of valor and run back from wince we came. After making the second bridge, Gunter shelters Cordigoth and acts as bait. Then, we switch and let Cordigoth do the work while Felecia takes a quick run away before running to the nearby fort and letting Gunter meatshield there. As Felecia runs, she stays in range of an Archer and finishes him off. After taking care of the remaining troops, its turn 11 and we are wounded. We finish the last Archer off, his squad now dead, and we heal up and charge in, Cordigoth taking the charge to the boss Ozomu. On Enemy Phase, Cordigoth takes down the boss and the two remaining archers swooping in to take pot shots at Cordigoth. And then the three Sky Knight reinforcements arrive. Well, no time like the present. Cordigoth gets in one last kill before Felecia seizes the fort for the win. Turn Count: 15 Total: 29 Also surprise Saizo and stuff.
  16. Hey, I wanted to get all of the 3 stories of Fates but i'm not sure about which Boon/Bane could be the best for Corrin.. In Birthrights I wanted to get Master Ninja as second class, I heard that +strength or +speed are the best boon and -luck the best bane. In Conquest I wanted to be a Malig Knight or Dark Knight so I thought that +magic -luck could be the best pair. What do you think could be the best boon/bane for these classes ? (No spoiler please the game is still not released in my country and sorry if my english is bad)
  17. After going over this by using https://inheritance-planner.herokuapp.com , and the wonderful community of GameFAQs, I have pretty much finalized my pairings for my next Birthright playthrough. They go something like this (also for reference, my avatar will have Fighter talent, and +Skl, -Mag.) Max stat order is Strength, Magic, Skill, Speed, Luck, Defense, Resistance Avatar x Scarlet (5/-2/5/1/0/3/-2) Jakob x Sakura (3/1/2/3/-1/-2/1) Kaze x Mozu (-1/1/4/5/0/0/0) Silas x Rinkah (1/1/1/2/0/3/0) Hinata x Azura (2/1/1/2/1/0/1) Ryoma x Kagero (5/1/2/1/2/-2/0) Takumi x Oboro (3/0/5/0/1/2/-2) Azama x Hinoka (4/-3/0/3/1/1/3) Saizo x Hana (3/1/5/1/0/-1/0) Kaden x Setsuna (2/1/-1/6/1/-2/1) Subaki x Felicia (-2/3/3/0/0/3/1) Hayato x Orochi (1/5/2/1/1/-2/1) For Kana, with the nice caps of 5 extra Strength, 5 extra Skill, and 3 extra Defense from marrying Scarlet, I want to make her some sort of Wyvern Class, probably Wyvern Lord, as it highlights those stats. For skills, I'll get Axefaire from Berserker, Trample from Malig Knight, and Aether and Warp from DLC. Have her marry Shiro for Life and Death, which sounds promising. 63% growth in Strength and Skill is also phenomenal. For Rhajat, as she's a crazy, powerful mage, she flourishes as a Witch, which is what I want to make her. Shadowgift for Nosferatu (I think you can find in Museum Melee or I can grind my Battle Rank), Tomefaire I take from Onmyojii when reclassing, Warp because it's WARP, Aether from scrolls, and something from a MyCastle. Those are the only two I've really went over what to do with. Thoughts? (Also, first post / topic)
  18. (Note: this thread is a planning thread for my PMU. To view the actual PMU, go to this thread: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=63273) Hey all! I'm just about to finish my first playthrough of Birthright, and before I tackle the beast that is Conquest, I wanted to try a PMU just for the heck of it. The rules are as follows: My main team will be composed of 16 units (including the Avatar) You can choose the class, gender, Boon/Bane, and even the name for my avatar if you are so inclined. Since this is an Ironman run, I'm going to have an alternate team of up to 10 units to cover for inevitable deaths No grinding for EXP, supports can be grinded in My Castle Battles Units will be reclassed into their chosen class as soon as possible If a unit needs a specific pairing to obtain a class, please tell me that pairing. I'm still not used to how class inheritance works... The only DLC classes I can use are: 2 Dread Fighters, 1 Great Lord, 1 Lodestar, and 1 Witch/Ballistician Well, that's enough from me! Give me your best (or worst!) units, and I'll try to make them work.EDIT: Both teams have been filled! PMU coming soon! [spoiler=Main Team] Oni Chieftain!Orochi Falcon Knight!Sakura Lodestar!MU (+DEF/-MAG/Talent:Knight) General!Setsuna Hoshido Noble!Kana Blacksmith!Hayato Witch!Rhajat Priestess!Hana Onmyoji!Silas Onmyoji!Kagero Sniper!Felicia Dread Fighter!Azama Spear Master!Oboro Spear Master!Subaki Great Lord!Caeldori Mechanist!Reina [spoiler=Alternate Team] Butler!Takumi Kinshi Knight!Kiragi Blacksmith!Hinata Master Ninja!Shura Mater of Arms!Izana Onmyoji!Yukimura Dread Fighter!Azura Kinshi Knight!Ryoma Swordmaster!Kaden Maid!Hinoka
  19. (Note: DO NOT post unit choices in this thread. For that, please go to my planning thread: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=63275) Hey all! 20. So, we are officially a month away from European/AU release, but I'm having a little bit of trouble keeping my personal hype alive. I've already played all three routes in Japanese, so I'm looking forward mostly to keeping things interesting by playing around in my first Conquest and Birthright playthroughs. This means using units and end classes that I usually wouldn't use to keep me on my toes. So, because I'm original, that means asking you guys for help. I will be playing Hard/Classic for these two routes, and ideally a Female Avatar (Asset, Flaw and Talent can be chosen, as well as her spouse.) I'd ask that you keep it fair for me, but... who am I kidding? My only rules are that no sibling is chosen as the marriage candidate, no kids, and that at least one healer is afforded. Since I'm no sure how quickly this'll fill up, it'd be cool if multiple units are chosen. If a multi-route character is chosen, please specify which path. [spoiler=Conquest (currently: 16 units)]1. Sorcerer Avatar (+Str/-Mag: Dark Mage) with S Odin 2. Strategist Elise (thank you) 3. Swordmaster Leo (A+ Odin) 4. Wyvern Lord Xander 5. Berserker Peri (S Arthur) 6. Berserker Nyx (A+ Charlotte) (Last Resort Reserve: Dark Knight Nyx) 7. Sorcerer Charlotte (A+ Nyx) 8. Sorcerer Benny (S Nyx) 9. Strategist Silas (S Elise) 10. Great Knight Felicia (A+ Peri) (Last Resort Reserve: Paladin Felicia) 11. Master Ninja Laslow 12. Malig Knight Camilla 13. Wyvern Lord Selena (A+ Camilla) 14. Wyvern Lord Beruka (thats a lotta wyvern) 15. Paladin Arthur (S Peri) 16. General Keaton (A+ Benny) (Reserves: Witch!Azura, Maid!Flora and Dark Falcon!Odin) [spoiler=Birthright (currently: 16 units)]1. Master Ninja Avatar (+Str/-Lk: Mercenary) (S Kaze) 2. Priestess Sakura (thank you, again) 3. Hero Kaze (S Avatar) 4. Kinshi Knight Ryoma 5. Mechanist Hana (S Saizo) 6. Onmyoji Kagero 7. Merchant Orochi 8. Sniper Takumi 9. Spearmaster Hinoka 10. Maser of Arms Oboro (S Ryoma) 11. Great Knight Silas 12. Maid Rinkah (S Jakob) 13. Oni Chieftain Jakob (S Rinkah) 14. Samurai Oboro!Shiro 15. Kinshi Knight Kaden (S Azura) 16. Basara Azura (S Kaden) (Reserves: Dread Fighter!Setsuna, Ballistican!Saizo)
  21. I'm on chapter 26 of Birthright and should finish it by tomorrow, so I'm already gonna create the topic so I can jump to it right after I finish the game! - 14 units (Avatar + 13). I see everyone going for 16, but only chapter 26 and Endgame allow for it, and the previous 2-3 chapters go with 15. The rest between 12-14. 14 allows (probably and hopefully) for every unit chosen to always be on the field, instead of only for the last 5% of the game. Who likes to warm the bench, right? - Any class (tell me if they need specific pairings). For DLC classes, I only have the free ones (Lodestar, Great Lord and Witch OR Ballistician and 2 Dread Fighter Scroll from Path Bonuses) - I think Lottery Shop, convo items and leveling Lilith for gold bars are fine? - If you want someone wearing a particular set of accessories, say it! You will probably need to send them though, as I can't visit other castles for resources. I will post pictures. So, go! 01- Corrin (Onmyoji with +STR/-SPD) 02- Hinoka (Great Lord) 03- Sakura (Dread Fighter) 04- Orochi (Spear Master - A+ with Oboro) 05- Felicia (Maid) 06- Subaki (Swordmaster) 07- Ryoma (Sniper - A+ with Takumi) 08- Azura (Basara - S with Corrin, Hayato or Kaden) 09- Scarlet (Witch)... Scarlet Witch...Marvel would be proud. 10- Kagero (Onmyoji) 11- Oboro (Master of Arms - S with Hinata or Ryoma) 12- Azama (Onmyoji) 13- Hayato (Blacksmith) 14- Setsuna (Basara - S with Kaden, Hayato or Corrin)
  22. I know there are a lot of threads that go in detail about the best classes for characters, but I have not seen one that compares the optimal non-DLC classes vs the optimal DLC classes for certain characters. Can you guys list me all the characters you know of in the BIrthright campaign (because that's the one that I'm playing right now) that are significantly better with a DLC class over their most optimal non-DLC class? (Example: Azama is much better with Dread Fighter than his most optimal non-DLC class, Merchant)
  23. Topic ^^ I intended to pair Ryoma with Hana, but you know how Hana is (one hit KO), and I'm afraid it'll reduct Shiro's ability to tank... Kagero seems to be a good choice, but I was thinking of going for Saizo+Kagero; Mozu = Aptitude = OP, but I was thinking of Aptitude Midori; Halp!
  24. So, having just finished Conquest on Hard, I'm having a dilemma. Birthright is easier, at least from what I've hear from literally everyone I know playing Fates. Furthermore, grinding is possible. Supposedly, Revelation is between the two in terms of difficulty. Seeing as there's no Lunatic+ to unlock, and I've heard that Fates' Lunatic mode isn't the totally and completely idiotic and non-strategic RNGfest Awakening's lunatic/lunatic+ was, I'm wondering whether to play Birthright on Hard or Lunatic mode. My concern is that I intend to play Revelation on Hard mode because Hard mode doesn't lock your stat growths at mission start, and I want to use my Revelation playthrough for PvP later on (which means locked growths would make stat-capping awful grindy and tedious). If I play Lunatic Birthright, will Revelation on Hard be boringly easy? Thanks in advance for opinions and input, I'd appreciate someone whose already done this weighing as well.
  25. So for my MU, I wanted a more defensive approach with my skills. I know Hoshido Nobles have really good defense caps to begin with but I still want to play it defensively. I currently have Pavise, Aegis, Counter and Countermagic as my skills along with Lethality, Is there any better setup I could use or is this decent? On a side note, I don't remember exactly what Boon and Bane I chose but I think it might have been Clever and Unlucky.
