  1. I'm surprised I didn't see a recent thread about this already.
  2. Some characters just rub you the wrong way at first, and you just think they're a simple joke or stereotype. But then they do or say something that makes you see them in a new light. Mine was Arthur. I thought he was the average superhero guy who sucks at his job. I still liked him no problem, but earlier today I was looking through his Support conversations in the Japanese version of the game, and was shocked to discover one of his talks with Effie. To summarize, he asked how was Effie a better retainer than him. She responded something akin to "because Elise was my friend before I was her retainer." The next conversation was a followup answer to Arthur's question, saying that he was "too fickle". He responded by saying that it's simply how he is; he helps people in need, not simply Elise. Effie responded with saying that kind of attitude is just fine. I thought he was doing it simply for the possible fame and accolation, but it was simply because of how much of a good person he is. From what I understand, they flanderized him in the official translation, which is unfortunate. But I'll always respect Arthur for the man he was supposed to be.
  3. Sup FB forums, After seeing Kirokan doing Fates 4-Koma and the other 4-Komas and with the release of Revelation comic anthology made me want to at least try and go ahead and scanlate the manga. So I went ahead and bought both Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest and Revelation Anthology seeing neither been scanlated. Now I'm completely noob at this since I have never done scanlation work before leecher FTW right? and I can't read a lick of Japanese so I can't do any translations. However, I'll try and can scan the pages with my old scanner and do the cleaning and all the other fun stuff. So I'm pretty much looking for a translator that can help me or heck any help at all will be helpful. Since this isn't probably the best place I'll also go and check at proper scanlation requirement stuff on other sites. I thought I'll start here first and check what people think of this and if anyone is interested in my little project. Looks at Kirokan with puppy eyes
  4. What characters have emerged as RNG victors in your play through? What units surprised you with their strength or usability? For me, I've been shocked by my Effie and Camilla!Velouria. I expected both to be strong at least, but it'd be a lie to say I don't tend to end up supporting these two as they (and their Pair Up partners) run around causing mass murder. It's a beautiful thing, really.
  5. I've been playing the JPN version of Conquest ever since the game was released, and I still haven't beaten it yet. Currently I'm on chapter 23 of it, playing by my own set of rules, and I regret doing this sort of playthrough (but oh well, gotta finish what you started). My rules: No DLC (a given) Cannot use children units (a given) Death of any playable/recruitable unit = Reset Have a MU with it's Boons/Banes not optimized (this rule is optional since it is completely possible to complete the game with an unit without optimizations) You CANNOT use any item/weapon/inherit skills/use Units from Streetpass/DLC/Online (interacting with other castles) You can use gold however you want You CANNOT use Boots/Bonus items (ie. skill scrolls, items that came with owning routes) You can only promote units with Master/Buddy/Parallel/Marriage Seals. You can use Stat-increasing items however you want (ie. Spirit Dust, tonics, cafeterias) Cannot use offensive staffs (ie. Enfeeble, Hexxing Rod, etc) (you can only use it if a recruit-able unit comes with one) No online My Castle interactions whatsoever (only exception is to grind out Dragon Vein points) No Streetpass interactions whatsoever Cannot use children paralogues unless it is for promoting an unpromoted unit. You must promote all the retainers of the Royal Family (ie. Odin/Niles, etc etc) You can only promote unpromoted units at level 20, while units that can only use staves/rods can be promoted at level 10 (beast units must be promoted at level 25) Azura/Aqua must have C-rank in lance. The weapon types of a canon class of a unit MUST be at least at C (if a unit does not have a canon class, then only the weapon ranks of a base class must be C) [spoiler=Explanation]This means that you MUST use weapons of the lowest weapon rank unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary until that weapon rank is at C (ie. significant hit rate difference between lowest weapon rank and highest weapon rank) [spoiler=Example]Effie has pink armor as a Knight. When you promote Effie into a General, she also has pink armor, which is unique to her. Therefore, Effie's canon class is General. A General can use Axes/Lances, whereas a Great Knight (a class where Effie can also promote to) uses Axes/Lances/Swords Because Effie's canon class is a General, only Axes/Lances must be at least rank C [spoiler=Exception for Corrin/MyUnit]Corrin only needs to have Sword/Dragonstone to at least rank C You can use your own My Castle in however way you want, however you MUST not have any statues out for the three optional My Castle battles ("Def War" in the JPN translated version) Strategies of completing maps must not rely on crits to win. If a map has loot, you must get as much as possible unless it becomes practically impossible to obtain Optimizing marriages are completely optional I think I may be missing a few other miscellaneous rules, but I got most of them. If you ever decide to attempt to do whatever I'm doing, may the stars align for you.
  6. So I have been having a lot of fun with this game, the overall mechanics and gameplay is so good this time round, but with all the good times and memories that I like to have with every game that I play; I also like to have my fair share of grueling experiences with the games I like. So I decided to finally man up, and attempt my first Lunatic run of a Fire Emblem. Then a friend of mine decided to joke around talking about how I never use prepromotes in FE games. From that joke I decide to pour a little salt on the wound and ban them from this run, finally deciding to just pour the whole container of salt into the deep cut and make it a PMU to increase my odds of having the worst/best time of my life. Basic Rules apply as always 16 Units to pick from, including a full avatar customization. Any class for units, I have dlc pack 1 so any dlc classes that come from those chapters or from path bonuses are available to use. Prepromotes aren't available to pick from. Lottery shop, Lilith Bars, and random items are A-OK If you guys have any other ways I can make this playthrough a living nightmare for myself be sure to submit suggestions and I will take all of them into account! I will be recording this and uploading it for all of you laugh at my expense :) Units +Mag -Lck MU Cavalier -> Paladin FeMU Bow Knight Niles Master Ninja Laslow Great Knight Effie Swordmaster Odin Dark Knight Peri Kinshi Knight Selena Sorcerer Nyx!Ignatius General Nyx Does he fight for his friends, or for the good will of the people? Who knows: Arthur Malig Knight Elise Maid Anna Adventurer Nina Bow Knight Soliel Wolfssegner Keaton Wolfssegner Velouria
  7. Hey, I wanted to get all of the 3 stories of Fates but i'm not sure about which Boon/Bane could be the best for Corrin.. In Birthrights I wanted to get Master Ninja as second class, I heard that +strength or +speed are the best boon and -luck the best bane. In Conquest I wanted to be a Malig Knight or Dark Knight so I thought that +magic -luck could be the best pair. What do you think could be the best boon/bane for these classes ? (No spoiler please the game is still not released in my country and sorry if my english is bad)
  8. I know that I have already posted a similar forum for Birthright characters (you can find this forum here>>>http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=62994&hl=%2Boptimal+%2Bdlc+%2Bclasses), but now that I just got Revelations, can you guys name me all the characters in Conquest (because I already know the optimal sets for the Birthright characters) that are significantly better with a DLC class over their most optimal non-DLC class? (Example: Azama is much better with Dread Fighter than his most optimal non-DLC class, Merchant)
  9. So, in my over eager starting of my Normal Conquest play through, I failed to get our sweet little villager Mozu until around chapter 18 (I'm on 20 now). Normally I'd just say 'oh well!' and move on, but I need to bring her up to par with the rest of my team so I can get Ignatius and round out some child pairings. I've been trying to use Boo Camp to level her up, but part of my issue is that I either kill an enemy before she can finish them off due to having an all promoted team, or she dies on her first attempt to attack because of a low hit rate or not doing enough damage. I've gotten lucky a few times and she's now at level 8, but I am hoping someone can suggest something that's a little more... Effective. She's running Aptitude, Quick Draw, Life or Death, Savage Blow, and Death Blow. I am more than willing to buy more skills for her since I'm really not happy with this build on her for this point of growth, so if anyone has a Mozu with other skills I'd appreciate taking advantage of that as well as tips on getting her some strength~
  10. Okay so this is probably known already, but on the off-chance that it isn't... I discovered that it's kindasorta possible to farm for gold using Profiteer with Midori on the Awakening Xenologue. I tested it on My Castle and no Profiteer happened, but on the Awakening level, it works. So... yeah, I guess that's a faster method of farming than feeding Lilith? Obv it's no Ghostly Gold, but it's something if you don't want to shell out the muns for that level.
  11. Lets just say my last PMU for Conquest ended at Ryoma. You are allowed any unit, any seals. If i run out of money idk. You can choose children and use 2 Dark Fliers, 2 Dread Fighters, 1 Great Lord, 1 Lodestar, and 1 Witch/Tank. If i missed anything, just tell me. Also im banning Gunter, cause every time I used him he died in the chapter I got him in somehow, so it would just be a lost cause for Gunter. You can request more than one 1.Maid Elise 2.Master Ninja Laslow 3.Dread Fighter Effie 4.Witch Nyx 5.Sorc Xander 6.Strategist Ophelia 7.Great Lord Peri 8.+Luck/-HP Great Master Corrin 9. Hero Waifu(Charlotte) 10.Wyvern Lord Camilla 11.Sword Master Leo 12.General Benny 13.Wolf Keaton 14.Wolf Velouria 15.Dark Flier Odin 16.Bow Knight Soleil(Daughter of Effie cause why not she can be broken)
  12. Ok so it's obviously impossible to grind exp in Conquest. But what if you abuse the DLC? Does it help even a little? I need to promote a few characters and a few units need to be a higher level because the final chapters 2nd part is where I really have trouble and at least one unit dies because they didn't have good enough stats. Can anyone help?
  13. Recently in my Fire Emblem Fates Conquest copy, i've experienced a pretty bulls**t bug that frezzes my game at random times and sometimes it even crashes my game, now i see myself i a position that i need a LOT of luck to beat a chapter. Does ANYONE know how to solve this problem ? I will attach a video showing my problem. capturedvideo.MOV
  14. So, we are officially a month away from European/AU release, but I'm having a little bit of trouble keeping my personal hype alive. I've already played all three routes in Japanese, so I'm looking forward mostly to keeping things interesting by playing around in my first Conquest and Birthright playthroughs. This means using units and end classes that I usually wouldn't use to keep me on my toes. So, because I'm original, that means asking you guys for help. I will be playing Hard/Classic for these two routes, and ideally a Female Avatar (Asset, Flaw and Talent can be chosen, as well as her spouse.) I'd ask that you keep it fair for me, but... who am I kidding? My only rules are that no sibling is chosen as the marriage candidate, no kids, and that at least one healer is afforded. Since I'm no sure how quickly this'll fill up, it'd be cool if multiple units are chosen. If a multi-route character is chosen, please specify which path. [spoiler=Conquest (currently: 16 units)]1. Sorcerer Avatar (+Str/-Mag: Dark Mage) with S Odin 2. Strategist Elise (thank you) 3. Swordmaster Leo (A+ Odin) 4. Wyvern Lord Xander 5. Berserker Peri (S Arthur) 6. 15. Hello! My last revelations PMU was an absolute sucess! Now, time for probably the hardest version to do a PMU, Conquest! I have all the DLC classes, but only 2 Dark Falcons, 2 Dread Fighters, 1 Witch/Tank, 1 Great Lord, and 1 Lodestar. Any seals can be used, request pairings. I will start it at 15, but if anyone knows Conquest's highest character limit, tell me please! Also, suggest the pairings and kids are also allowed to be chosen, so theres that! 1.Sorc Benny 2.Great Knight Nyx 3.Maid Azura (A+ Elise, and if someone actually has Corrin turn into a butler, it will be her marrying Corrin instead. I'd rather have Corrin be made by a unique person, but the marriage will happen so yeah) 4.Dark Falcon We Got Trouble (Felicia) 5.+Mag/-Str Dark Knight Corrin 6.Hero Arthur 7.Master Ninja Shura 8.Strategist Elise 9.Samurai Odin 10.Dread Fighter Selena 11.Witch Camilla 12.Hero Mozu 13.Sniper Laslow 14.Butler Xander 15. Dread Fighter Gunter
  16. I just finished this game... and i'm laughing so hard right now! I wish I was kidding! besides the similar name the game also has wayyy too many similarities to fire emblem. you play as a "warlord" who controls a pokemon thingy in fields resembling fire emblem, along with your allies, who you happen to control. As the story goes on, you recruit unique characters with different pokemon and skills. You can change peoples default pokemon to ones they happen to have an affinity to (somewhat like emblem). The gameplay on the battlefield is fairly similar, only with one attack and no changeable weapons. there are some walkthroughs of it on youtube.
  17. This level, while well designed is incredibly fucking annoying and I've been trying to clear it for about a week. How did you manage to get through it? Which side is the best to approach the main hallway from? Tips on taking care of both iago and hans?
  18. I wish there was a master/pinned thread for PMU runs, but since there isn't, I'm assuming this will be okay to post. I'm wanting to do PMU runs of all three paths of Fates. I've recently completed the entire game on hard, and I'm wanting to spice the game up as I slowly go through the paths on lunatic on separate save files. To start it off, I want to do a PMU run of my favorite path gameplay wise, Conquest. Everything is allowed assuming the character can get access to the class without marrying Corrin. Kamuisexuals are also allowed, as are kids. If you want me to use a kid, assuming the parent hasn't been given to me yet, you can choose the outlier parent as well. I want 16 units to use. Difficulty will (probably) be Hard/Classic. Also choose my Corrin's class, please? Nohr: 1) Male Corrin - Master Ninja (Ninja class) +Str -Lck 2) Nyx - Bow Knight 3) Selena!Velouria - Dread Fighter 4) Keaton - Berserker 5) Odin - Grandmaster 6) Elise - Wyvernlord (GOTTEM) 7) Selena - Berserker 8) Camilla - Mechanist 9) Effie - Strategist 10) Peri - Sorcerer 11) Felicia - Maid 12) Arthur - Paladin 13) Charlotte - Maid 14) Flora - Maid 15) Ophelia - Swordmaster 16) Benny - Hero
  19. I was...disturbed by the conversation your main character has when recruiting Nyx. There was a lot of subtle innuendo, and I just didn't really like it. So, I thought it was fair game for a rewrite. (Also sorry if this wasn't posted in the right place.) My version: Original:
  20. Hey guys and gals! With the new Fire Emblem comes the new wave of pairing threads, so I guess I'm gonna contribute to that. I'm looking for some advice for my Conquest playthrough. I made my Female Avatar a +Mag -Lck. I'm leaning towards having her end up as a Sorcerer or Onmyoji (suggestions for that as well?) and I really don't know who to pair her with. I took Diviner as her second class because of the access to Mag+2/Future Sight for early game and for Tomefaire, and because Rend Heaven is just so fantastic to pass to everyone. I want to optimise this run but I'm not so comfortable with Nohr children yet, since this is my first playthrough with Nohr. I don't mind the pairing to not be the absolute best because I'm only on hard mode. I'm thinking of a few potential husbands and need help with choosing: Leo: I guess that would make two great children, but I really don't want to pair her up with her brother, even if not related by blood, just seems too weird to me... Alright enough sentimentality, I'll do it if I must, but it just doesn't feel right to me :P (remember Owain x Lucina?). Odin: God this guy is just so epic. Always been a fan of Owain. Anyway, I guess he could make a good father for a mixed Nohr Noble Kana and his good skill stat benefits having skills like Dragon Fang/Rend Heaven. Like Leo, not a lot of class diversity. Forrest: Kana would just be so damn great with Forrest as a father, but I don't really know if it's better to have two awesome children or one godlike unit. I'm really open to suggestions for other potential husbands, as well as for ending classes/skills for the children. Thanks for the help! TorterraX
  21. One of my favourite things about Awakening was the support system. Out of Birthright and Conquest, I'm more interested in trying Conquest because of the difficulty, more varied objectives and story. However, I've also seen Birthright described as far more centred on the support system, because of its grinding and its smaller difficulty allowing more freedom in who you pair. I don't care if the support system's better in Birthright (I'll be getting both eventually) but I'm hoping it's at least still a central part of the game in Conquest, as some reviews indicate Conquest is far more gameplay-focused. Basically, are the support system and story still a significant part of Conquest, or do they take a massive backseat to the strategy part of the game?
  22. Hey guys. Right now, I'm at chapter 20 of Revelations, and I have three complaints about the three games so far. 1. As of right now, I just don't see the point of Revelations. All of the maps are gimmicky and repetitive, there are too many damn units being recruited at once (chapter 16 and 17 are the worst offenders), and the balance is simply horrendous (Nyx (lv. 9 Dark Mage) and Shura (lv. 10 Adventurer) joining you in the same chapter is hilarious). Story wise, it may make sense, but gameplay-wise, Revelations is a mess. I think it shouldn't have been a game by itself, instead, the developers should have worked harder on Birthright and Conquest (especially the former which had so many filler chapters). They could have added plot elements of Revelation as paralogues or as the final chapters of the game, kinda like Sacred Stones. 2. I don't like the fact that maps are re-used between the three games. It feels like a cheap quick cash-grab. The developers could have had different maps for the three games OR simply sell the whole thing as one game (with two paths). 3. Children are useless gimmicks, story-wise, they are simply not justified. They're only there because it worked well in Awakening, here, it feels so random and out of place. Overall, I think that Fates shoud have been sold as one game with branching paths. What do you guys think? Do you agree with these points?
  23. Okay so something I decided to try early into my second Conquest run is to finish my endgame with all Wyvern units, or as many Wyverns as I can manage with support units filling in the leftover spots. I expect it will be something of a challenge, but between Malig Knights and Wyvern Lords I can have all three segments of the weapon triangle, so I'm gonna try to make this happen. I've never done a crazy run with such specifics like this before, so advice and suggestions would be hugely appreciated. Conditions: - All units who can class change into a Wyvern unit must end the game as a Wyvern unit (unless they're dropped and go unused) - Must go into the Chapter27 + Endgame with as many Wyvern units as possible. - Staff/Rally support units are allowed up until the final 2 chapters, or if there aren't enough wyvern units to deploy in the final 2 - No gold/exp DLC - No Dreadfighter/Darkflier access - 1 Hero's Brand, 1 Exalt's Brand, & 1 Witch's Mark available Current Status: **COMPLETE!** - Though the battle was bloody, the Wyvern Brigade made it through the Endgame to stop the evils of Twincest Takumi and his bow domination, thus striking down Fates' title as 'Bow Emblem'! > At some point I'd like to attempt to record a playthough of the endgame (even though all I have is my computer's webcam, OTL...) - Final Endgame lineup listed above; all Wyvern units used along with Azura - Attained all gold statues for units being used, including the support squad - Wound up adding Forrest to the Wyvern Brigade near the end of the game; he was probably my weakest unit, but he was usable! - Profiteer Midori with Anna's Bow + Luck Potions from Azura's Witch's Brew made farming for gold on the Awakening DLC pretty easy - used both boots on MU (squandered one on Azura, who got Warp) - Purely for kicks... All forged weapons get dragon-themed naming conventions, and all Wyvern units got decked out with uniform accessories depending on their character model - wound up ultimately not needing the last 2 Arms Scrolls out of the 5 used (one was given to Kana, one to Camilla, and I forget the third); proving that planning stuff out ahead of time so you can switch classes / train weapon ranks early helps a lot toward that Final Notes It took a lot of planning, and yeah there were some missteps along the way, but I think I proved that this can be done. If anything, Wyverns might be one of the best unit types for a class-specialized run like this, given their access to all three colors of the Weapon Triangle and their crazy mobility. Bows wound up being less of a problem than I thought they'd be between the magically-strong Malig Knights and all the units with relatively-easy access to Bowbreaker. Had a lot of fun doing this, and hope other people try some crazy stuff like this in the future for kicks! [spoiler=Detailed Unit Breakdown] Nubrya (Skil+/Luck- feMU) - reclassing path: Oni Savage (talent) > Lv20: Oni Chief > Lv11: Great Lord > Lv15: Malig Knight (end) - Skills: Dragon Fang, Aether, Death Blow, Awakening, Savage Blow - Weapons: [A] Axes / [C] Tomes; primarily Great Club, Odin's Grimoire, Steel Axe and Bolt Axe - married Ignatius Final Verdict: Wound up using MU mainly with crit-based weapons like the Great Club (which consistently got 100% crit rates owing to Death Blow and her high Skill) and forged Odin's Grimoires. Unfortunately this meant she didn't do as well against tougher enemies without a fair bit of backup, and Aether didn't proc as often as I'd have liked even with Awakening helping it on its way (It's worth mentioning I also used Berserker Axes with her to kill stuff early and get to the point where Awakening would work...) So a bit gimmicky overall, but she did the job in the end. Elise: Troubadour > Lv20: Strategist > Lv15: Malig Knight - Skills: Savage Blow, Trample, Inspiration, Lunge, Demoiselle - Weapons: Tomes / [E] Axes; mainly forged Thunder/Fimbulvetr/Disrobing Gale - married Odin Final Verdict: Though I opted not to reclass her early and wound up wasting her weapon levels on staves, she still wound up maxing out her Tome level and being a pretty strong unit. Basically played her like you expect a promoted Elise to play but minus staves and plus flight/MK skills. Being able to use the Bolt Axe might have been nice, but Calamity Gate sufficed in its place and she was good all around. Camilla: Malig Knight > Lv5-11: Sorcerer > Lv15: Wyvern Lord / Malig Knight - Skills: Savage Blow, Trample, Vengeance, Bowbreaker, Axefaire / Swordbreaker - Weapons: [A] Axes / Tomes; Silver Axe/forged Camilla's Axe, Brave Axe, Tomahawk, Bolt Axe, Dual Club - married Benny Final Verdict: Opted to keep her as a MK despite her mehh magic due to the Tome levels she was getting as a Sorc and you know, she did all right. By the endgame I'd given her an Arms Scroll to max weapon levels and bought her Axefaire from someone else's castle (could be considered cheating, but ehh) and she was using primarily axes as a result, and she did fairly well. May have done better as a Wyvern Lord, but ehh. Could farm some gold, buy her a Seal, and try another endgame run like that. Beruka: Wyvern Rider > Lv20: Malig Knight > Lv5-15: Wyvern Lord - Skills: Lunge, Str+2, Savage Blow (never got Trample and Swordbreaker) - A+ Camilla for Sorc, marries Leo to give him wyverns Final Verdict: Wound up ditching her by the endgame in favor of Benny (who essentially usurped her role) and the kids. Could have been usable, but I don't think I was getting the growths she needed. Selena: Merc > Sky Knight > Lv20: Falcoknight > Lv15: Wyvern Lord - Skills: Darting Blow, Spd+2, Camaraderie, Good Fortune, Lunge - A+ with Camilla/Beruka for Wyvern, marries whoever Final Verdict: Used one of the first 2 limited Heart Seals on her with the intent of training her in Lances; she worked very well as a Pegasus for a while, but by the time of the opera house chapter she wasn't packing enough of a punch to keep using. In retrospect, her Heart Seal would probably have been better spent on Elise. Charlotte: Fighter > Lv20: Hero > Lv5: Berserker > Lv15: Wyvern Lord - Skills: Swordbreaker, Axefaire, Sol, Rally Str, Rally Def - Weapons: [A] Axes; Adamant Club to make her more durable, Dual Club for swords, Tomahawk/Battering Club for range, occasionally Berserker Axe to make full use of her power - marries Xander / buddies with Beruka for Wyvern tree Final Verdict: Her high Str and Spd actually let her function pretty well as a wyvern. Adamant Club was probably her most useful weapon since her high strength compensates for its low might and actually lets her take a hit. By endgame she was too frail to take a hit from anything during the enemy phase, but could ORKO most anything, and made a good rallybot and pair-up partner for Xander. Benny: Knight > Lv20: General > Lv: 5: Great Knight > Lv15: Wyvern Lord - Skills: Natural Cover, Wary Fighter, Luna, Guarded Blow, Lunge - Weapons: Lances / [C] Axes; anything with a speed penalty, but esp Ryoma's Club / Beruka's Axe and Effie's Lance - marries Camilla for wyverns Final Verdict: Benny actually surprised me with how well he performed; basically wound up being Charlotte's polar opposite-- could tank enemy rounds all day and night, perhaps not kill anyone, but soften them up plenty for the rest of the Wyvern Brigade to clean up. Attempted to take advantage of Wary Fighter by abusing crits and Luna, which was pretty easy thanks to his high Skill. Leo: Dark Knight > Lv5-10: Sorcerer > Lv15: Malig Knight - Skills: Malefic Aura, Bowbreaker, Savage Blow, Vengeance, Trample - Weapons: Tomes; Brynhildr obvs, though forged Lightning helped him kill things a lot - marries Beruka for wyverns Final Verdict: About as solid as he usually is. Part of the Bowbreaker squad dedicated to stopping the dominion of the Bow Emblem. Xander: Paladin > Lv15: Hero > Lv19: Wyvern Lord - Skills: Aegis, Sol, Axebreaker, Lunge, Shelter - Weapons: Lances / [D] Axes; Effie's Lance / Bold Naginata, Spear - marries Charlotte for reasons, you all know them Final Verdict: Trained his weapon ranks hard (resisting temptation to use Siegfried as often as possible) and it paid off pretty good; he wound up not needing any Arms Scrolls. More or less functioned the same as Benny; had a hard time killing stuff since he was too slow to double, but tanks for days. Effie ! Percy: Wyvern Rider > Malig Knight > Lv 15: Wyvern Lord - Final Skills: Lunge, Savage Blow, Trample, Swordbreaker, Str+2 - Weapons: [A] Axes / [D] Lances; Venge Club for tanking, Fuga's Club for doubling, Iron/Arthur's Axe early on - marries Ophelia Final Verdict: The only Wyvern Brigade member not to share royal blood by birth or marriage, Percy ends pretty modest in terms of skiils but performed well throughout the game. Kept his class changing simple to conserve Seals, but he still did well. Elise ! Ophelia : Dark Mage > Sorcerer > Lv15: Malig Knight - Final Skills: Vantage, Bowbreaker, Vengeance, Malefic Aura, Trample - Weapons: Tomes; Missiletain, Mjolnir for crits, Ink Painting for tanking / Vantage abuse - marries Percy for his wyvern Final Verdict: Probably the best magic-specialized MK of the lot; more durable than Elise and has Vantage, faster than Leo and packs high crit rate; she basically never died. It's Ophelia, what more can you say? Azura ! Dwyer: Troubadour > Pegasus Knight > Falco Knight > Lv5: Wyvern Lord - Final Skills: Darting Blow, Str+2, Lunge, Swordbreaker, Tomebreaker - Weapons: Lances / [D] Axes; mainly simple stuff like Steel/Iron, but also used Arthur's Axe/Guard Naginata to bolster his weak defenses - buddies Percy for Wyverns Final Verdict: Grabbed him early and put him in Pegasus right away to start training lances, which paid off big time. Performed well throughout the game; his only real issue was that he's a bit more frail than most of the other WLs, but Darting Blow and his surprisingly high strength let him double and ORKO quite a lot. His double breaker action didn't hurt either. Jakob ! Shigure: Skyknight (offspring) > Lv5+: Falcoknight > Lv15: Wyvern Lord - Final Skills: Tomebreaker, Voice of Peace, Darting Blow, Rally Speed, Rally Defense - Weapons: Lances / [D] Axes; Silver Lance / Killer Lance mainly - has natural Wyverns by virtue of Jakob being his dad (don't ask me how that works) Final Verdict: Decent, but offensively the weakest WL, probably on the lower end of all the units overall. Performed well as a rallybot, and was still able to beat foes either through Silver Lance's high might or his decent crit rate with Killer Lance. Charlotte ! Siegbert: Cavalier (offspring) > Lv5+: Great Knight > Lv15: Wyvern Lord - Final Skills: Aegis, Sol, Luna, Guarded Blow, Lunge - Weapons: Lances / [C] Axes; mostly iron/steel but was the Killer Axe recipient and used it well Final Verdict: Definitely a strong unit, really balanced and well-performing overall. Possibly the best Wyvern Lord overall. Camilla ! Ignatius: Knight (offspring) > Lv5+: General > Lv6+: Great Knight > Lv7+: Hero > Lv10-15: Wyvern Lord - Final Skills: Guarded Blow, Bowbreaker, Lunge, Luna, Sol - Weapons: Lances / [C] Axes; mostly iron/steel, occasionally stuff like Ryoma's Club - married MU Final Verdict: Not bad, but not great; like a more balanced Benny or a worse Siegbert distinguished by having Bowbreaker. Actually wound up too fast to make good use of Wary Fighter, I think; Beruka might actually have been a better mom for him in that regard. Still did pretty well. Beruka ! Forrest : Troubador (offspring) > Strategist > Lv15: Malig Knight - Final Skills: Inspiration, Lunge, Savage Blow, Trample, Rally Res - Weapons: Tomes; Fenrir / forged Lightnings to compensate for his poor speed Final Verdict: Not terrible, but likely the worst wyvern of the bunch. His genetics did him no favors, sadly, but he was a functional Malig Knight and brought another Rally Res. That's all I can really say. Camilla ! Ignatius ! Kana: Nohr Prince (offspring) > Lv5+: Nohr Noble > Lodestar > Lv?-15: Malig Knight - Final Skills: Death Blow, Bowbreaker, Dragon Fang, Savage Blow, Speedtaker - Weapons: Magic / [C] Axes; Ragnarok/Bolt Axe for primary damage, Fenrir / Great Club for crit abuse Final Verdict: Probably better than MU, actually. His speed capped low, as expected with Camilla!Ignatius as his dad, but Speedtaker helped with that and he was about as good at crit-abusing as MU was, but could kill easier otherwise. His only real problem was lack of any healing skills, which I'd definitely get him next time. Azura: Songstress > Witch > Songstress - Skills: Luck+4, Inspiring Song, Voice of Peace, Witch's Brew, Warp - Weapons: Bolt Naginata (only lance-user with enough magic to use it), Blessed Lance (mainly because it's in her portrait TBH) Final Verdict: Warp + Sing. Boom. Wasted Shura's Boots on her, sadly... Witch's Brew also ended up making me a fair chunk of change by the end since I rarely ended up using her tonics. Nyx ! Nina : Thief (offspring) > Adventurer > Strategist - married Dwyer for the Troubador tree and ended as a Strategist for the sake of movement. Final Verdict: Shared the staffbot job with Forrest for a while, then shouldered that job along with Lockpicking once he went wyvern. She was able to handle both jobs pretty well on her own, and that's all she was really around for. Mozu ! Midori: Apothecary (offspring) > Merchant - The Wyvern Brigade all capped early, so I took the remaining paralogues to train up Midori's bow level so she can use Anna's Bow for the +5 Luck. She also had Lockpick from Kaze, which helped in levels where I had enough unit picks to bring her. Final Verdict: Does her job: makin' sick bank. [spoiler=Budget Calculation] - Total Budget: 120,000g (not including Paralogues and Lilith gold bars) - approximated Master Seals needed: 9+ x 2,000 apiece - approximated other Seals needed: ~20 Heart/Friendship/Partner - Available Arms Scrolls: 3 free + 2 for 5,000 apiece [spoiler=Pairings] - Odin x Elise - Arthur x Effie - Niles x Nyx - Kaze x Mozu - Azura x Jakob - Selena x Silas - Beruka x Leo - Camilla x Benny - Xander x Charlotte - Laslow x Peri - Keaton x Felicia - MU x Ignatius - Percy x Ophelia - Shigure x Midori - Dwyer x Nina - Kana, Forrest, and Siegbert go unmarried; could use My Castle to pair them off with the 3 unmatched ladies, but ehhh no point really
  24. Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble at Nohr chapter 20 "Winds of Change" So my units are about on par with the enemies, a bit stronger in fact so they can easily keep up in the combat side of things. But the problem and what keeps getting me is the map's hazard, the wind. It keeps pushing you forward and or pulling you back from the progress you made, and it does that to the enemies too, and that usually left my weakest units exposed for the enemies to just wail on them. Can you guys help me with some advice for this level? I'd be much appreciated. I'm playing on hard difficulty by the way.
  25. I made this thread in the Site Content board, but I figure it might be a good idea to post it here as well, so that I can get more feedback. I couldn't find a compilation of ALL the average stats in the game, so I've been chipping away at it myself in a Google Document. It's taking longer than I thought it would! Anyway, I believe I am done with the Nohrians. Voila! https://docs.google.com/document/d/12GvkyCZ2D3ZwH4U9FiI7DuR1skFIa0OTWwkbs0lGaik/edit Three things to keep in mind: 1) I did not account for Partner/Buddy Seals - only base classes and Heart Seals; 2) I did not account for Eternity Seals (honestly, there's no point to); 3) characters that can be recruited at any point after a certain chapter (eg. Flora, Izana) apparently gain extra levels if you take longer to actually recruit them - because I assume that most players will recruit them ASAP in every playthrough, I account for the earliest level that they can be recruited at. I have been using all the resources on this site (Character Recruitment, Character Growth Rates, Character Base Stats, Class Base Stats, Character Max Stats, and Class Max Stats) for this project. If any values are wrong, let me know and I will correct them. I believe I have been quite meticulous with checking my math, but I'm not perfect. Oh, and the last several pages of the document contain the Growth Rates, just because I think it's nice to have it all on the same tab as the averages. :) Remember, if your character hits the level cap and all their stats are below the average stats listed for them, that means your character got RNG screwed. Oh, and I accounted for Corrin/Kamui/MU/Avatar/Whatever being +SPD/-LCK, because I assume that's what most folks do. It's what most folks did in Awakening anyway, and it seems to be pretty effective in this game as well. Sorry if this doesn't help you. I can add all the other different Kamuis as well (eg. +STR/-MAG) if requested. If people complain enough, I suppose I can whip up a spreadsheet version instead. I personally prefer Docs for stuff like this, but everyone's different.
