  2. I've been doing some randomized playthroughs of the GBA FEs recently and it's rekindled my interest in Fates, so I decided to boot up Conquest and have another go at it. With a little input from some very lovely people in IP Chat, I successfully created the most bitchin', take-no-shit-from-no-pussy-ass-hoshidans ho Corrin ever: Now you get to watch me her fuck everything up in this playthrough of Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest-- HARD MODE.

  4. Since we've had a daily topic about what we think of characters, and one about the music of Fates, I decided to make one where we give our opinions on the character's aesthetics. Which might have been discussed a bit in the character discussion thread but for this thread It shall be the main focus. Does the clothing appeal to you? any facial features that really makes the character pop? anything that just looks odd to you? post em here. I'll stick with a 2 characters per day formula. List so far: To start us off I figured we'd start with: #1 - Corrin (M/F) I'm rather mixed about Corrin's design. It's not dull by any means and the black and white on the armour looks nice, It just looks a tad bit over designed in comparison to previous lord designs, particularly In comparison to our last avatar character Robin. Also the male version's hair is a tad silly, although the female's hair is actually quite nice. The headpiece is a nice touch to her design. With that said however her design suffers from unnecessary sexualisation in the form of those patch of exposed skin around the thighs. While not the biggest deal since Camilla and Charlotte exist it does feels forced onto her design as her male counterpart doesn't have anything like that (Similar for Effie when compared to Benny but I'll get to that later). It reminds me of Cherche's design in how inconsistent it was with that design choice. Also why do neither of them wear shoes? Since they were first revealed It's stuck out to me like a sore thumb (or in this case, a toe hehe). I'm guessing that it's because when they transform into a dragon they need space for their feet/hands? which is still odd since their armour seems to blend into their body upon transforming, at least that what it looks like. Edit: Also when it came to custom avatar designs for the male I preferred the long hair one as it gave him an elfish look. Haven't used F!Corrin yet so not sure what I'd prefer for her. I suppose we can also discuss Corrin's dragon design while we're at it. If there's one thing I noticed about this game and dragon's is that they seem to be really stretching what can be considered a dragon. Along with Lilith I just don't see them as a dragon, if anything the first thing I thought of upon seeing Corrin's dragon form was Xerneas from Pokemon X...while Lilith is just a bloody koi fish squirrel. #2 - Azura Azura certainly has an interesting design for a dancer. It's exotic, yet mysterious, which suits her character. The one leg stocking thing sticks out though since that's connected to her undergarment, so would that be considered a fan servicy design choice? or is it some kind of pants that just has one leg exposed? It reminds me of Palutena as she had one leg stocking as well. I like her long, flowing blue hair, which also looks hilarious ingame since some classes clothing clips through it or the gear from cloths shops, had her as a berserker recently and the combination of her hair with the barbarian look made me giggle.

  6. I know the newer FE titles get a lot of hate, especially Fates, but I absolutely fell in love with Conquest. I've been with the series since right after FE7 first released in Europe (I was born in Serbia and lived there most of my life) and managed to snag an English PAL copy. Immediately, I was head over heels. Smash didn't get me hyped, and I didn't come into the series late. The second it left Japan, I was on board. On top of this, I've played through and beaten every single FE game AND the spinoff/related titles like the TS games numerous times. So needless to say I'm no series noob, and the older Fire Emblem elements everyone seems to love is what I knew the second I fell in love with the series. Now, I love Awakening (I love all FE games, except FE2 and FE5 though I still enjoy those titles) a lot, and I even like Birthright a lot as well (it was really ambient and you got access to most of the new classes immediately) and Revelations I feel had a good story, even though it wasn't quite on par with FE9 and FE10. Though I still have this, pit, in my stomach when I play those games because they're missing some of what I came to love so much all those years ago. Conquest, cured this. Now, Conquest is STILL a lot different than the older Fire Emblem titles, the new weapon triangle system is still present, weapons just go on in terms of usage forever, forging exists, the castle shit, etc. I LIKE all those things, I genuinely hope they stay because you're not just calculating how much a weapon weighs anymore. It used to be, any character with high constitution could use whatever weapon and suffer no penalty for it. In Fates, using shit like Silver weapons can cripple your next attack, and Steel weapons can prevent you from doubling outright. A lot of people bitch and moan about this, but I rather like it. It adds more strategy to the game, as do skills. It's no longer as cut and dry as it used to be, now, provided you're playing on a harder difficulty where you haven't ubergrinded the hell out of your characters (Which Birthright and Awakening let you do RELIGIOUSLY, Conquest doesn't give hardly any grinding options which I love) you're actually going to have to make some REAL calculations when you're playing through the game. Older FE got too easy, even on the hardest of difficulties. The RNG system was extremely predicable and was even easily manipulated, weapon types had no drawbacks other than weight, some characters like Swordmasters and Berserkers could effortlessly become OHKO machines when given killer weapons and how much damage an enemy could do was all easily calculated. I see a lot of bitch moaning over shit being luck based. People really don't like it, I guess I can see why because it's entirely out of their control. The thing for me is, luck is a REAL factor on REAL battlefields. On a real battlefield, you can't just predict and calculate your way into perfect victory after victory, if so this planet would have one country, The United Empire of Earth. Adding luck based variables like certain skills triggering, a less predictable RNG system and some other things makes the game feel more real, and it's a looming variable that makes you weigh your choices more carefully. Conquest did what I dreamed of, it kept all the new shit I loved with the newer games and even added some of its own new and good shit, but it also took away a lot of the things that made the newer games laughably easy and brought some of the old school FE traits back. Now, I do not think Conquest is as soul crushingly difficult as a lot of people say it is, though it DOES have difficulty, but there are times on Lunatic (and even on Hard mode early on in the game) where Conquest will absolutely fist you. This is not a bad thing, if you don't get wrecked by the game every once in a while, you start getting careless. Getting wrecked makes you a better player, plain and simple. I also really enjoyed the Fates storylines, because I don't nitpick for tropes and the like when FE is a series that has been littered with troupes and archetypes since its birth. All in all, the comeback of the older Fire Emblem elements that prevents you from going godmode on the game by grinding your team into oblivion as well as making the map goals a bit more diverse was really, REALLY nice to see, then that combined with the new elements in my opinion makes this the best game in the series. Though the Dragon Veins are fucking stupid, there's no getting around that. Anyway, I'm sure not everyone will agree with me, this IS just my opinion. Though I'm just making this because I wonder how many old school FE players really liked Conquest the way I did due to the wonderful combination of old and new.

So, I was recently informed that apparently, some of my older let's plays are getting harder to find. I keep a list in my signature, but it's constantly getting longer, and bulkier, and I've had to de-link some due to URL limits. So! Here it is! An official list, with retrospective commentary, collecting links to all my LPs in one place. Also, to anyone who doesn't know about my LPs: I like to do screenshot playthroughs of Fire Emblem ROMhacks... I mean...Fan Projects! I started my first LP, FE7 Chaos Mode, on September 17 2014 (eg: A Long Time Ago), and just sort of... never stopped doing let's plays. And that's how I got to where I am today! Not really anywhere in particular! THE OFFICIAL LIST OF ALL OF MY LET'S PLAY THREADS, IN ORDER OF RECENCY: FE7 Chaos Mode: The later levels got a touch difficult and tactics like this may be required. LENGTH: Quite Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Sep. 17 2014 END DATE: Jan. 9 2015 My very first let's play, and the one that started it all! I was still trying to "find my style", so to speak, but I still think it turned out really well. If you want to read all my stuff, I would definitely suggest starting here. FE7 Chaos Mode was an interesting hack and definitely a good one for a first LP, even though there were about 8 other people also playing it at the time. Road to Ruin: My favorite levels were when I could control generics. Things got crazy fun. LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Finished for now START DATE: Nov. 13 2014 END DATE: Dec. 3 2014 Road to Ruin was a good let's play of a neat hack, which at the time was new and cool. It's a pity Road to Ruin as a project seems to have been abandoned, since it had so much going for it. Still, I think this is one of my better let's plays. NOTE: "Finished for now" means that the LP thread could be revived from the dead if the hack I played is updated with new chapters! Corrupt Theocracy: Just enjoying the brilliant story and characterization. LENGTH: Very Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Dec. 8 2014 END DATE: Feb. 11 2015 Corrupt Theocracy is probably my most interesting let's play. I think it's one of, if not the, best and most hilarious Let's Plays here. At the same time, however, I took a rather negative attitude towards the whole thing and kind of acted like a jerk throughout. So, I would like to apologize for that. It was if anything one of my most popular screenshot runs, climbing very high up on the most viewed/replied columns for this entire subforum. Elibian Nights: What else could I use to describe it? LENGTH: 3 millimeters STATUS: Did it even start? START DATE: Dec. 26 2014 END DATE: Dec. 26 2014 The beta of the full version of Elibian Nights was released! But... it was super buggy... so I decided to put the LP on hold for a few days while it was all fixed. ...Was it ever fixed?? I haven't been keeping track of the thread... either way, I didn't come back to it and may never will. Death or Glory: Probably one of the darkest stories in FE hacking. LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Finished for now START DATE: Jan. 26 2015 END DATE: Feb. 16 2015 Like Road to Ruin, Death or Glory was a very good hack, and I think this turned out to be a good LP, even if not a particularly memorable one. A quick note, I transcribe all dialogue in the hacks that I LP, and generally, this means you'll get to see the hack's whole story. Death or Glory has a very good story, and so that really helped make the playthrough interesting. Markyjoe's Hacks: The hacks made me commit many crimes against humanity. I am not sure if I will ever recover. LENGTH: Long-Ish STATUS: Finished START DATE: Feb. 16 2015 END DATE: Apr. 4 2015 I called the thread "All of Markyjoe's crap", which was intended to be funny, but looking back, it was a really a rather presumptuous title. It was only, like, 70% crap. I think this thread turned out well, particularly due to Markyjoe popping in and giving lots of entertaining and insightful commentary as to the level design. I initially planned to only play 5 hacks (Old Fire Mumblem, Tactician Hell, New Fire Mumblem, Super Hard Lyn Mode, and Chronicles of Lussaria) but was later convinced to play 2 more (Corruption of Roy, a ragefest submission, and Project Shoeshine as well). All of them are in the thread. The Rolling Request Thread: (TOTAL) LENGTH: Extremely Long STATUS: On a maybe-permanent hiatus Finished START DATE: Apr. 2 2015 HIATUS END DATE: Nov. 30 2015 I was faced with a quandary: There are a lot of little hacks out there I wanted to play, but I couldn't flood the forums and make a thread for every last one of them! And that's how this thread was born. It went on for a super-long time and I played a ton of hacks throughout, and I think it was fun for everyone. After a while, though, I stopped it because I was quite simply running out of little hacks to play, and I wanted to focus more on some of the major, longer hacks. Still! There's lots to read and enjoy, if you want! ALL THE LPs CONTAINED WITHIN: The Reckoning: Original character Do not steal LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Canceled/Finished START DATE: July 6 2015 END DATE: Aug. 2 2015 The Reckoning was a hack that was initially removed from Serenes Forest due to what was straight-up sprite theft from other creators. I managed to download it before it was removed, and I thought it would be fun to play through it. I was wrong. We got pretty far, but eventually I just stopped because I had lots of better hacks to move on to. You can read through it if you want but it's nothing particularly special. GhebFE: How the creator made this hack. LENGTH: Too Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Aug. 3 2015 END DATE: Mar. 25 2016 GhebFE... well, being completely honest, it's probably going to be pretty funny to you viewers, but for me, I can remember this with nothing other than regret. The hack is vulgar, it is rude, filled with inappropriate jokes that mean you probably shouldn't read it if you're 8, and you might choke on the tears of pain i cry while trying to play it. Fire Emblem Requiem: Running theme: Cowardly Bosses LENGTH: Quite Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Apr. 3 2016 END DATE: Feb. 19 2017 Requiem was the very last hack I played (or, at least, the last LP that finished), and was a good note to end on. The hack had good gameplay and a good story, and was all-around a pleasant experience. I would recommend playing it yourself if you don't want to read an LP of it. FE8: HELLA AWESOME LIGHTNING BOOTS: Imagine FE8 but with the units like this LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Canceled START DATE: May 2 2016 END DATE: September 6 2016 It was regular FE8, except with the units all having their classes, stats, and recruitment order shuffled. The plan was for me and many other LPers to play it at the same time, butt I was in a period of very slow updates. Trying to split my limited time between this and Requiem was killing me, and the other LPers had finished by the time I was nearing halfway through. In the end, I canceled it so I could devote more time to Requiem - a decision much agreed upon by my readers. You can read what I did do, or, if you want a full let's play, one of the full threads is here. By Mr. Night! And... that's everything! ...Yup, that's all my FE screenshot LPs! There's nothing more! Before I go, I'd just like to thank all of you viewers out there! You're the reason I do all this, so thank you for all your comments, support, criticism and whatever else. So by chance of luck I won a local Gamestop raffle for a charity I put money too and got a $20 buck card and used it to buy Revelations Only problem is... Who to I pair up with who? Theres like, 39 people who produce 21 kids... So i started a list and heres how it goes of what im doing. Femui X Keaton A Combination of all royal siblings being married (excluding Azura) Ryoma X Camilla Xander X Hinoka Leo X Sakura Takumi X Elise Then everyoen else i decided with: Arthur X Effie Azama X Kagerou Benny X Oboro Hayato X Nyx Hinata X Peri Jakbo X Mozu Kaden X Rinkah Laslow X Hana Niles X Setsuna Odin X Orochi Saizo X Beruka Subaki X Selena Silas X Felicia Kaze X Azura I think some of these pairings are good and some are bad Blue Means its a pair i think is acutally good everythign else im unsure of... so im reaching out to all of you to give me good advice.   10. Hello! I, like many others, have found that owning a physical copy of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance has become impossible without first shelling out hundreds of dollars. Plus, who has time to plugin their Gamecube, sit down, and play a game anymore? Therefore, as my skills in Fire Emblem hacking are few, I am proposing a group project to remake PoR in a pixelated, more portable format. This game will be called Fire Emblem: Portable Radiance (or Path of Radiance, we can vote on this later) It will be based off of the FE7 Rom and will be as close to the original as humanly possible. Some features will have to be cut because either they are bad gameplay elements or they are not possible on the Gameboy Advanced hardware. These will include: Biorhythms Laguz Gauges (will be replaced by claws, beak, etc. that function like infinite dragonstones, but with certain drawbacks) Skills (unless someone can implement class-specific skills like Sol, Aether, Impale, etc.) Bonus Exp. (unless someone can implement it easily) Trial Maps (DLC???? ) Support Bonuses Automatic Class-Ups (unless able to be implemented, each character could come with a class-up item that only worked at level 20) In-battle Recruitment (as far as I know this is not possible, except for villages) The Ranger class (seriously, Intelligent Systems?) This list is not final. Many things will be added to or removed from the list during development. Now onto the positive stuff. The development team!! YAYYYYY!!! I will act as the group/project manager and will be in charge of organization, updates and what the project should be like. Here is the list of open positions that need to be filled and their requirements: Assistant Manager - Aids manager and handles problems with staff, file management, etc. Must be readily available to answer questions from staff. Sprites:Pixel Artist - Chief of Sprite staff. Someone who has past experience in FE pixel art creation. Must be able to adapt portraits, overworld sprites, in-battle sprites, and item icons from source material into the project. Battle Animator - Similar to pixel artist, but for the characters' movements in battle. If able, can be combined with pixel artist. Background and Tile Set Editor - Must be able to edit backgrounds and tile sets (terrain) to resemble source material. Coding: (must be able to use Nightmare and other coding programs)Chief Coder - Codes main game play elements, such as text and events, directly from the source material. Also manages other coders. Must have experience hacking GBA Fire Emblem titles Character Coder - Codes all of the character info, stats, classes, etc. from source material. Map Editor - Edits in-game levels to match the source material. Also edits movement costs. Tutorial Get-ridder - Gets rid of the tutorial. Weapon Coder - Edits weapons to match source material. Menu Editor - Edits menus and such to match source material Miscellaneous:Compiler - Hardest job. Must compile all the data to make one coherent game. Must produce a demo with one level and all features and then produce the full game. Bug Tester - Make sure all features work as they are supposed to. Beta Tester - Much like the bug tester, makes sure every version of the patch is fully playable before release. Many of these jobs can be take by one person if they have the necessary skill sets, so don't me scared off by the big staff. All members who work on or contribute to the remake project will have the name they prefer in the game's credits. Alright! I have a few preferences when it comes to it: - Eugenics, but only for the most powerful children. I do not care if any children are left out - Shipping is minor, but helpful non-the-less - I'm going for +Spd/-Lck with Hero as the talent and the final class, I'll get the other skills through Spotpass/Castle battles.   12. So, my last LP ended up boring me, but this one seems fun. At least it's new and exciting, and I'm nearly sure it was never done before at least here). Galaxy Robo is a Strategy RPG on Super NIntendo. It was recently translated, and why it may not look like much, it has some interresting maps (from what I saw so far.). And the scenario is classic, but have some interresting parts, which you'll see at some later point [spoiler=Introduction] Our story unfold on a star system called Farleus on its three inhabited planet named Rohan, Altomira and Luxia As time have passed, these words have developped unique cultures and governments which each attempting to influence and hold sway over the others This created a tipping point, and disputes concerning the overwhelming power of these mysterious mechanical relics led to armed aggression Though many perished, the warfare ended with the creation of machine similar in power to Ancient Robo Fighters - called "Mobile Soldiers" However, an undiscovered secret lies buried within the Ancient Robo Fighter This game will be played semi-blind. I went up to the 8th Map. EVerything after is a complete mystery. The game is constituted of chapters, each having 3 Scenario (AKA Map). So, now, how do you think a large scale conflcit involving multiple planets and ancient secret begins ? Thats, right : a bandit chapter ! [spoiler=Chapter 1 Scenario 1 : Game Intro] Each Scenario start with this. Here it's a route mission With the isolated incident of a sneak attack on his hometown, our story begins. Zoran : A group of mechanized bandits is raiding our town! Fatis : After all, we're the only one capable of operating the Mobile Soldiers! Coming, Dad? Gasch : Fatis, as of now, I want you to start piloting Freet. Fatis : B-But... That's your precious Ancient Robo Fighter! Do you really think I've got what it takes? Gasch : There's little doubts in my mind that you're ready, son. Just remember what I've taught you Fatis : All right, Father... I'll certainly do my best. C'mon, let's get moving! Frank : Even though our job is done, technically... No matter... Let's blow'em away anyway! Leia : I WILL have my vengeance for what you did to Claire! Phew... we can now start. First, let's take a look at the map. It won't be too long. As I told you... Don't worry (or maybe we should worry...), this seems to be an exception. We'll have lots of large map later. Now, for a FE player, the color code may be confusing, so let's detail what we have here. The blue units are the ennemies. The one higher up with a slightly different design is Frank, this chapter Boss. The Red unit is our Lord, Fatis (or more exactly his Ancient Robo Fighter (shorten ARB from now on)), Freet. I suppose it comes from Ifreet, and have nothing to do with Fleet Leia is the green... hingy you can vaguely see in the forest. Gasch and Zohan are at the bottom of the screen. The battle is separated between Ally and Ennemy phase. You gain Exp for damaging ennemies and for being damaged. Units cannnot counterrattack. Well, let's take a closer look at our units : The left stats are the Robo(t?)'s, the right one the character's stats. SHIELD is HP, and the other stats seems pretty obvious. Freet is amazing. One of the best unit in this chapter. High Movement, and great power. His only drawback is that it doesn't have any ranged attack. However, it's fitted with few armaments, so it's combat ability is low. Leia is the healer. She can Refill units, given them a few SHIELD back, and restoring all ammo for all attack. Refill doesn't give any Exp, so we'll try to makes her earn a few levels in this chapter. PulseLaser is 1-2 Range The Early Game Archer equivalent. Not the best, but far from the worse. Vulcan is 1-2 Range, and Cannon is 3-4 Range. It was previously deployed by the Rohan Knight Punch is 1-Range, and Tackle 1-2 Range. His attacks will nearly destroy basic Imp, letting your unit get the kill. He's max level, so it shouldn't be used too much. And now our ennemies : I have no idea what the "some models" is referring too, because so far, they're the worst RF (Robo Fighters) I've seen. They're 1-shotted by Fatis and 2-shotted by the others. He have great stats, but his machine is quite bad. I'll detail him more during the battle. Well, this is already quite a lot. I'll show the 2 first Scenario a little later.
  13. So on a thread a while back I asked if anyone could help me find the battle for the strongest royal dlc music but no one replied so I thought Id ask again. The only version I can find is where the map version and the ablaze version play at the same time. But I can't find a version of the music where the ablaze version plays on it own. Can anyone help me? Pretty please?

So, in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (7), the tactician has a different affinity depending on his birth and blood type (the latter only in the Japanese version) So, just curious, using the formula of the Japanese version, what's your affinity? Prod-dodging posts will not be considered towards activity, please let the mods know if you intend to lurk or if you have important commitments that will prevent you from posting for long periods of time, otherwise two prods will result in forced replacement or modkill. 4. Lynches require hammering except during D1, where a majority lynch may happen. In the following phases failure to hammer will result in No Lynch, and the second no lynch in the game will result in a universal loss. Don't talk after the hammer. 5. LyLo will be anounced regardless of it being true LyLo, MyLo or potential MyLo/LyLo 6. You will be informed if your action fails or is redirected. 7. No screenshots, Mod conversation quoting (Role PM, night results PMs, etc) or post edits. Any of these will most likely end up in a modkill. Flavorspec through character names and the sort is discouraged but allowed. 8.   16. EDIT: I'm stupid and suck at this game. Ignore everything that I wrote. So I recently downloaded a Wii save file at http://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/932999-fire-emblem-radiant-dawn/saves from the user BlueHedgehog24. The save file provides different save points, one of which is saved at Part 3, Normal mode. I used that save file and proceeded all the way to Part 4, Chapter 5 (the Feral Ones map). When an enemy attacked an untransformed Janaff, he did not gain any transformation points after combat, as shown in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz3hcLSoFfY http://i.imgur.com/YA0SjJv.jpgThis image shows Janaff's transformation gauge after the Feral One attacked him. http://i.imgur.com/pBhvGbw.jpgThis image shows Ulki's transformation gauge, who was out of range of the enemy. Notice how both sub-humans laguz have the same transformation points. My question is that is this a bug with the save file, or with my game?

Wherever I look I can only find the calm and ablaze versions of each map themes fused together, I can't seem to find many map themes with the ablaze version on its own and its really frustrating. What I'm asking is does anyone know where to find the ablaze versions of the map themes that are not fused together with their calm/regular versions?
  18. I'll be honest, I have had FE:A since two mounths after it's launch in 2013, and I haven't played hard mode once. I am, for the first time, trying hard mode and it is a whole different world from normal (You probably know this). I am on the 5th chapter and I'm stumped. I have completed this game 5 times on normal mode, so I know how the storyline goes. I was wondering if some more expirenced players could offer incite onto any strategies that I should take on hard mode. I also have the fallowing DLC: Golden pack, R&R 3, LB 2-3, and SB 2-3.   19. Kind of like how one of staff responsible for Halo said Heroic was the canon difficulty. I'm torn between it being either hard or Lunatic, but is it possible for it to be Normal? Also, without any DLC, is it possible to beat this game without using any skills, on hard or lunatic?

  22. After downloading the third path from the main menu in the special edition version how do you play it? I'm not getting the option at chapter 6... Only getting the option for Hoshido and Nohr.

  25. Awakening was a bit of a let down for me in terms of multiplayer. Sure, the occasional street pass keeps me somewhat content, but I was expecting more with the latest functions of 3DS wireless capabilites. For example, my best friend and I do not live in the same state and have loved Fire Emblem ever since Fire Emblem Rekka no Ken (Blazing sword) was released for the GBA. The only way we can "play together" is by skyping, and in that sense it was a big let down for my friend and I. Personally, I would like more out of the multiplayer aspect of the game: direct Player vs Player on a dynamic or default map. What are your hopes for wireless? Any news that I'm unaware of?
