  1. So... forgive me if I'm posting wrongly. I haven't done this sort of thing before, I'm still new to this website and have no idea how to use it. I mostly use the subreddit or my own Tumblr, but, well, here goes. In this thread I'll be posting mostly Awakening art pieces I've done, though there might be a few other stragglers here and there. (If that's allowed? I read the rules I'm just not sure is all) Anyways... So here's my stuff from 2016: This one was a commission! Someone asked me to draw them as a Fire Emblem character in Severa's clothes and I had a ton of fun with that: Here's a few WIPs I'm doing: And this was a commission of someone's Corrin! Currently, I'm working to color this, but a friend and I also agreed to collaborate. I drew it, she's going to also color it! and while this piece is a little old, I still do like it: so again, apologies if I did any of this wrong, I'm still new to this, thank you for looking!
  2. In FE4, every character had a child unit associated with them, regardless of gender. In 13, only women decide children, and in 14, men. Why? Why make less child units? And I know it's not cartridge space, cause an SNES fit it all in and was fine!
  3. I've heard some units are bad and really aren't worth using because there better ones to get, i would like to know which units are worth using.
  4. One of my favourite things about Awakening was the support system. Out of Birthright and Conquest, I'm more interested in trying Conquest because of the difficulty, more varied objectives and story. However, I've also seen Birthright described as far more centred on the support system, because of its grinding and its smaller difficulty allowing more freedom in who you pair. I don't care if the support system's better in Birthright (I'll be getting both eventually) but I'm hoping it's at least still a central part of the game in Conquest, as some reviews indicate Conquest is far more gameplay-focused. Basically, are the support system and story still a significant part of Conquest, or do they take a massive backseat to the strategy part of the game?
  5. I just got this game and am really bad, any tips for a beginner?
  6. So, I'm new to Serenes Forest and I heard something about a "waifu war"? Basically people would fight over which waifu was better? If anyone was in that, could you tell me, what was it like and who was your waifu? Personally, mine would've been the all mighty boingy Tharja! ;)
  7. This happened a while ago and I took some pictures of our texting conversation. Not a big fan of awakening but we were playing it at the time so a lot of puns are about it. The night before a test me and a friend had the greatest conversation ever... Me: prepare yourself Him: this test will get no sympathy from me Me: I challenge my grade Him: Any average can change Me: pick a guide and study Him: I fight for my grades Me: it's time to study the textbooks Him: now that's studying Me: my writing hand twitches Him: I would start studying if I was you Me: for those I must study I cannot fail Him: shall I make you... Study? Me: Gregor study! Him: study frosting! Me: we should probably start actually studying now Him: Pffft Me: you're right. Study? Nah Him: don't Sully my reputation for studying Me: teach will vaike you study Him: Should we Chromtinue this? Owain, nevermind. Me: Lissa to me! The test is tomorrow so stop Robin me of my time! Him: I don't need to study! Owain needs no aid! Me: I'm so Donnel with this Him: Brady we should stop then Me: I think you're knight Him: don't be so cavalier about it Me: you don't nosferatu me Him: stop stahling Me: that's it. I'm levin this conversation Him: steel yourself Me: what did I just Say Ri? Him: says in the textbook we rebelled because the British had some imposing axe Me: well we are the home of the brave, and those weapons are very strong. No wonder we won. Him: well we were the blue troops and they were red Me: yeah, and we were defending from the forests Him: too bad the British recruited Benedict Arnold Me: his growths were low anyway Him: ok we need to stop I'm only halfway through chapter 9 Me: you're right, these puns are dragon us down Me: we just spent 45 minutes doing this Him: Fire Emblem, not even once
  8. What is your favorite critical quote? Please only talk about the Awakening critical quotes considering Fates hasn't come out yet. I'd have to say mine is between "Errr...Rage!" and "Checkmate!"
  9. Something hit me the other day regarding Awakening. Oh, uh, spoilers, by the way. Validar tells you later in the game that he's had spies on you since the Carrion Isle map, but he never says whether or not they were Risen. The first time I played I figured that's what he meant, but what if Henry was his spy? Suddenly ol' Vally pitting Risen against you makes sense, it was all to make Henry integrate into your army. Chrom is quite naive and the Avatar is rather busy having migraines at that point, so there's really nobody to question it other than Frederick. (But really, did anybody ever actually listen to that guy?) I mean...Henry's generally a mystery, right? So does this make sense to anybody else? Could there have been others in the army spying for Plegia?
  10. I already asked this question before on a different forum, but not much interest was shown. But from the given suggestions, and what we can realistically achieve so far with ROM hacking, I've come up with a small list of tentative changes and would like some input. http://pastebin.com/933nAbXM And because I know this is going to be suggested, no, we don't know yet (or at least I don't know) how the game handles what shop sells what, so I can't edit shops at this moment.
  11. So I was going to start playing Lunatic Mode and wanted to know if anyone can give me any tips. Such as, If I should go classic or casual mode. This is my first time playing Lunatic mode. ((EDIT: I have the DLC MAP "EXPonetial Growth." I'm guessing I should grind that right?))
  12. I know this would require someone to beat the game twice to test this out, but I've a slight question. In the... epilogue, I suppose, you're told each character's battles, which I'm 99.9% sure is the number of enemies they've encountered, or rather battled, and victories is the number that, out of those encounters, how many they've finished off. Now, I'm pretty sure this is a no, but out of curiosity, do DLC enemies increase these two numbers for a character, or is it only Chapters/Skirmishes? (I think Skirmishes raise the number, pretty sure...)
  13. Hi, I´m new to Serenesforest. Last months I´ve been playing a little bit with Awakening and Fates´s story. If your are interested, post your ideas. This post contains Big Spoilers for Awakening and some Mild Spoilers for Fates The first thing I want to share is Chrom´s dad, I made a base design for it and I think it is pretty cool. One thing I noticed is that I´m not that great at drawing armor, so if you´d like to help me with that I would really appreaciate it. Once I get Fates next month and clear the story modes, I´ll update on the story itself, so you´ll have to wait a little bit until the main story. For some time it will be some designs I make or some mini stories that will shape the main story. Well, here comes Chrom´s Dad I am not that great with names, but my idea for his name is Rodrik. He is an only child. In this story, he is the first blue haired descendant that wasn´t born with his brand. For that reason, he isn´t able to wield Falchion. His base class is an Axe Lord, but his class is War Lord, they can use Axes and Swords. I don´t know what his Personal Skill would be. Since his parents loved him very much, they forged a special axe made of extremely rare silver that uses the Argent Gem´s Power. He still goes into a rampage and tries to anihilate the Grimleals. I´ll attach the photos in the next few days since I´m having Internet trouble right now. Update #1 Now, I´ll talk a bit about the main thing of this mashup. Since I haven´t played Fates, but I know a bit of the story, this may change in the future. The idea is that after the end of Fire Emblem Fates, the Invisible Path, Kamui, Aqua, and Lilith go through a portal and got to Chrom´s world. They get separated in the way, and Kamui appears near the time and place where Chrom finds Robin, but he can´t remember well what happened to him. I´ll update after the game comes out, to avoid people getting mad with me.
  14. I have a question for those who have started with, or only played Awakening/Fates: what is your view on the older entries of the series, before the 3DS titles? I ask this cause I often see many veterans of Fire Emblem note how different Awakening and Fates are in comparison to the old titles, but I don't think I've ever since the opposite side's opinion. So yeah, what is your opinion of the older titles?
  15. For this theory, I'll use default Robin's(the one in Smash 4) as reference, since that's the "deafultest" look possible. Hey there! So recently I've noticed something while playing FE13, and it kinda shocked me when I realized it. We all here know that most children in FE13 inherit their father's hair color, right? And since Robin's hair color is up to the player, most children can have any of the selectable hair colors. Now, very later in the game, we discover that Robin is the child of Fauder/Validar, and that becomes quite the plot point, as it explains how Validar managed to make Robin kill Chrom at the very beginning of the game. He was controlling Robin through his blood, which was related to his own. But here's what I noticed. Robin and Validar do not share their hair color at all. ...Quite shocking, I know. This can mean a few things: 1) Robin could not actually be Validar's child Which seems quite an idiotic thing, since the game explicitly tells otherwise to us, but bear with me for a bit. I think that Robin was some random kid that Validar kidnapped and ended up brainwashing said kid to believe that he was their real father. Maybe he saw the potential Robin had to be Grima's Vessel and decided to seize the opportunity, so as to not take risks. Eventually, something happened to Robin, and that something triggered their memories. That and finding out that they had been lied to the entire time made them flee from Validar's reach, only to be found by GimRey (That's what I'm calling the Robin from the future, who decided to accept being the vessel. Thanks shadowofchaos.)in Ylisse and have their memories disabled until later in the game. The shock from GimRey and their memories made Robin faint, only to be found later by Chrom, Lissa and Fredrick. When Validar controlled Robin, it simply was controlling using Grima's power to seize a good vessel for Grima.Since the fell dragon wanted that too, he lent Validar some of his power, so that he could be reborn as GimRey. Now there might be a few errors within this theory, especially the fact that Robin never seems to mention that, nor does Validar or Aversa. Or the fact that this game seems to love plotholes. But it has enough evidence to make it at least plausible, so I guess it's up for you to decide if you'll believe it or not. Now, onward to "thing" 2. 2) It's just a silly plothole, and I should stop thinking too deep. Don't forget that we are still talking about FE13, and it's tightly-written story. This seems to be enough evidence to break the theory too, so yeah. Or maybe... 3) They may use this not-resolved plotline to make another game in Ylisse that follows Awakening. Which seems likely too, since Awakening revitalized the franchise in the West and is the best selling in the series. Who knows? Like point 2, I won't delve too much into this, as it is real-life speculation. Endgame I'd like to invite you guys to share your thoughts in this thread, be it evidence, criticism or any kind of commentary. After all, this is why people like to come to SF...right? I don't know if someone else already posted something like this, but if they did, sorry in advance. I hope we can spark some nice discussion out of this! And who knows what will happen in the future, right? Thank you for reading until here! Have a nice day!
  16. Hey everybody, I've been thinking of doing an FE Awakening playthrough. You guys have seen plenty of these on the forums before, so what is different about this one? Well, I'll be using Citra, and recording an LTC (most likely), something which nobody has done before! For those of you who don't know, Citra is a currently in development emulator for the 3DS. It currently doesn't support sound (or save states, or many other standard emulator features), but Awakening is playable without any major graphical glitches, so I think you guys might be interested? The game runs slowly during cutscenes, but IIRC nearly full speed during actual chapter playthroughs (and I can probably speed the frames up as necessary). So are you guys interested? Let me know if you think this is a worthwhile endeavor (and fill out the topic poll!), and I'll probably decided what I'm doing in a couple of days or so. Keep in mind that I've never played this game before (and know almost nothing about the new mechanics), so it might not be a great idea to vote for Lunatic (unless you want to torture me).
  17. Hello. So this topic has to do with both Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem: Fates, so I just dropped it here in Fates. I seen a thread like this from a while back, but instead of a poll it was more of an informational text provided to viewers to get a better understanding of Mikoto and Emmeryn. Anyway! This is where the spoilers start. If you continue to read, do not blame me. This will be the third time I've warned you. [spoiler=Emmeryn]So, Emmeryn. Emmeryn sacrificed herself for the sake of her people. Even though her death didn't have much effect, she had good intentions. Emmeryn jumped off the cliff to stop Gangrel from having a reason to be against Hoshido. (Sorry its been a while since I've played Awakening theres probably a lot I'm missing). Emmeryn's death was with good intentions yet did not have much effect on what later happened. Now for Mikoto! [spoiler=Mikoto]Mikoto was the queen of Hoshido, that is before her death saving her child (Kamui/Corrin). Mikoto notices a shadowy figure aiming at Kamui, without hesitation Mikoto jumps in front of Kamui, shielding him/her with her own body. A few seconds after, she died due to the shadow that took over her body. Now that the little bit of background information has been given, who's your favorite? I would like to hear from a few perspectives. Those being: Visual; Who's the best looking only judging by appearance? Personality; Who's got that special attitude? Intentions; Who had the best intentions? Role in the Story; Who did better with their role? Overall; Who is your favorite overall? Please leave all of this below! Thanks for your time in reading this and I hope to read a lot of responses! -Uchu~ \_(^-^)_/
  18. Hey everyone! I used VincentASM's Character Editor as well as various discoveries made by me and many folks over on GBA Temp to hack lots of new supports into Awakening! Gay, straight, and platonic alike. Here's the download link. If you have the US version, simply drag the romfs folder into the same location on your pc as Awakening's romfs folder and allow it to overwrite the files. People with different region versions have different names for the folder contained within "M", so in that situation just copy/paste the files themselves into the appropriate location. [spoiler=Previous Releases] Version 0.1.1 Version 0.1.0 You can find out more info about it here on the GBATemp thread. Have fun!
  19. Fire Emblem: Awakening uses a font called Chiaro Std B Bold, which is the same font The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask use. (Not the 3DS remakes, however.) It can be found here. 7th down from the top. Unfortunately I couldn't quiiiiiteee get the spacing and formatting 100% accurate to in-game, but if anyone figures it out for a 240p image, let me know! I hope fan works really can use this! -Robotortoise Also here's the stupid thing I did with the font
  20. I already posted this in the Awakening forum, but I was informed that it would be better here. For those of you who don't know, LEGO Ideas is an online feature where you can post your own ideas for LEGO products (as long as it doesn't break any of LEGO's rules), and if the idea receives 10,000 votes, it can be made into a LEGO product! A few days ago, I submitted an idea based on the Premonition chapter of Fire Emblem Awakening. Included is the Fire Emblem, the dragon's table, Chrom, Validar, and Robin (comes with male and female versions). Here's a link to the site; when you get to the site, click the support button on the right to vote (you will need a LEGO ID though, but it is simple to make one). https://ideas.lego.com/projects/121131 You can also comment on the product on the site. Getting 10,000 supporters is mainly a question of advertising, so please tell others you know who would be willing to support this. Update (December 20, 2015): It is currently sitting at 14 supports, and it has been almost a month since anyone supported. Please support this LEGO Ideas project.
  21. Hi. I recently started an account on Serenes Forest. As such, I'm not sure if I'm posting this topic in the correct forum for something like this, but as it is the Awakening forum, I think it would go here. Yesterday Lego approved an idea I submitted on LEGO Ideas based on the premonition chapter of Awakening. If I get 10,000 votes within the time limit and Lego then reviews the idea and gets permission from Nintendo, it will be made into a LEGO product! Please support this Lego idea on Lego Ideas. The idea is called Fire Emblem Awakening: Premonition. Update (Dec. 20, 2015): It currently has 14 supports and it has been almost a month since anyone supported. I am in the process of making more projects based on fire emblem, but please continue to support this one.
  22. These are kind of big so I'm just gonna slide these into spoilers. They're of my MU Stella! They aren't the best but if you have any suggestions or feedback I'd love to hear it! Tactician Clothing: Trickster Clothing:
  23. As the title says, I want to know if the stat growths of Awakenings characters are somehow influenced by Asset/Flaw choice of the Avatar or if who they marry or not has something to do with it. Case in point: I am currently grinding everyone to max stats/halfway decent skill sets. My Avatar is a Grandmaster and has an asset in Skill and flaw in HP. I had Lissa and Vaike marry and, try as I might, Lissa never maxed out her Defence and Vaike never maxed out his resistance or magic, the latter of which isn't unusual, but the former kind of irked me, because in my female Avatar playthrough (+Spd/-Def, Swordmaster), Lissa married Libra and maxed out her defense no problem (in fact, after Luck and Magic, it was her FIRST maxed out stat. Both times, I grinded (ground?) her through all of her available classes once and had her end as War Cleric. Am I just terribly unlucky (as in, the RNG screwed me over with Lissa's Defence) or does one of those two things I mentioned earlier have something to do with it? Or could the Avatar's gender have something to do with it as well, because I had noticed that whenever I make a male Avatar, everyone, including said Avatar, who isn't a magic-based character, always has major troubles increasing Resistance by even a single point (Frederick, Stahl, Gregor, Vaike and even Lon'qu, who maxed Resistance without trouble in my female Avatar file), but whenever my Avatar is female, every character, aside from Vaike, Gaius and sometimes Gregor, maxes out in Resistance. Note that I always grinded (ground?) everyone through all of their available classes once. It always went like this: Base class to level 20 -> desired end class/promotion level 20 -> other first stage classes to level 20 -> every promotion to level 15 -> Bride/Dread Fighter to level 30 -> desired end class level 20. Thank you guys in advance and I apologize if this question is stupid, it's just something I had noticed. Note that this doesn't include children, although some of them are shaky in their Magic and Resistance growths sometimes, especially Gerome and Inigo.
  24. i hate kellam he is annoying and generals are a bad class reply if you agree if you don't agree, you're wrong
