  1. ... When I found out that a large chunk of characters from previous games were going to make an appearance in Awakening's downloadable content (DLC), I was actually pretty excited. I have a number of characters that I have labelled as my favorites in the past (Particularly in 6 through 8), so if I ever got the game, I could also purchase some DLC on the side to revisit them. What they did with them, in my opinion, is one of the most borderline unforgivable things you could possibly do with these characters, EVER. To be more specific, I'm talking about how in certain levels of the DLC, you actually have to fight AGAINST the legacy units. Yes, that is actually a thing now. Because I SO want to beat down on characters I connected with in the past. Lugh and Raigh from Binding Blade, my all-time favorite duo? I'm supposed to kill them. Other favorites (Sophia, Nino, Jaffar, etc.) from previous games? I'm also supposed to kill them. FUN, RIGHT?! Oh, and they also have their own heart-breaking death quotes when you defeat them. It's not like "Ah, darn it, you beat me," it really looks like they actually die on the pavement while your unit revels in triumph. FUN, RIGHT?! I would say that this is more of a personal problem than a true detriment in that regard, but I strongly feel like if you grew attached to ANY of these characters in the previous games, then chances are you won't have a good time having to kill them off as if they were generic enemy soldiers on a normal battle-field. Now, I understand that these levels are mere downloadable content, and they canonically never happened (Obviously), so I am willing to think I'm overreacting to this since they're completely optional and have nothing to do with Awakening's story, nor that of previous games. But why on Earth would the developers go out of their way to take arguably the most popular characters in their respective games and reduce them to nothing but a bunch of props? What were they thinking when they did this? Did they not at any point think that this would be incredibly distracting and somewhat heart-wrenching? Did they honestly not stop for a moment and think to themselves, "Hey, maybe simplifying fan favorites into a bunch of drones that the player is supposed to exterminate for some prize might not be the brightest idea?" Because that's what I'm thinking right now. TL;DR: The characters you get from previous games, especially with any of them that you've connected with in the past, are insultingly used as mere obstacles for you to sweep away for some kind of bonus item or skill or whatever. ... Yaaaay.
  2. I have not played many FE parts and I have only beaten FE7-10 (FE9 hard; not maniac) on the highest difficulty yet. I tend to play FE11 on merciless soon. Yesterday I started my first attempt on lunatic+ causal, although even lunatic was annoying for me. I finished the prologue and chapter 1, so I stucked in chapter 2 "Shephards". The enemies with their luna+ wrecked Freddy up. After resetting around 20 times, I gave up and I am not going to continue it! I hate the whole idea that you have to use a "Jagen" against enemies with broken stats and skills, which always activate. The stats of the enemies are ok for this difficulty (same like lunatic I believe) but their skills ruin the strategical part to my mind. This is almost complety luckbased and this is not what I expect for a FE game! So I prefer the little but interesting feature in FE10 that the movement range of the enemies is disabled. This was fair and a great strategical feature, which should return at least as a menu option.
  3. Hi, During my play-through, I always have the combat animations turned OFF for all characters, and whenever I fight a boss, the dialogue just appears on the grid screen next to the sprites (forgive me, I'm new! I don't know the correct terminology) But recently, (from chapter 18 onwards with Yen'fay) when I fight a boss, the game switches to the in-battle animation. I thought it was odd, since this has never happened before? And I wasn't using a character that had extra dialogue with the boss. Other than this, I'm really enjoying my first play-through! Thanks, if someone can provide answers :)

  6. I was thinking quite a bit one day as to how light magic could have been implemented, then it hit me, the same way Path of Radiance did. The Bishop, like in any other game, would be a big resistance tank with all-around other stats, except they'd have no ability to use tomes. Instead, at level five, they'd get Lumina, allowing staff-users to use light magic. This means any staff-using class can use light magic, allowing for more versatility, however light is as weak as wind with no positive side. Again, however, at level 15, bishops get the Slayer skill, which would allow light magic to do triple might against all Risen. So any staff user can do effective damage against common foes at the cost of two skill slots. Any thoughts on my idea? Is the light magic I described too weak or overpowered?
  7. Well, I recently picked up my first FE game and I found Panne to be quite an awesome character. So I played through the campaign twice and unlocked all the children. Thus far, I have seen the vast majority of dialog between Panne and other characters, excluding the marrying parts since I married her twice =P. My primary question is this: what DLCs have the most (or at least some) Panne dialog? Sorry for my ignorance, and thanks for reading (and hopefully replying)!
  8. Hello all! I've been a lurker for a while now, but just recently made an account. I don't usually need to ask questions since I'm pretty good at this game, but I wanted some opinions. My avatar is female and is +skill -Luck and is married to Walhart. Morgan is a general, I had him as Great Knight with Conquest, but I couldn't resist General's better caps. My avatar is currently a hero, which I like her as, as her mods fit with the class nicely, and her pair-up bonuses from Walhart make her a demon. I'm happy with that, but I really love the Grandmaster class. My question is, is a Vantage+Sol hero better or is a Vantage+Ignis/Sol Grandmaster better? I may or may not attempt Apotheosis with this save, so that might affect my decision Thank you for your time. -Lethe.
  9. Hey guys! I randomly had an urge to write a fanfic--my first one. I wasn't exactly sure what to do, so on a whim I just started a loose retelling of Awakening from Lissa's perspective. I'm not sure how far I'll get, but I thought I'd give this a try. You will be quick to notice that I've taken a few liberties with some of the characters. The only one who's different in this chapter is Maribelle (sorry if I offend any Maribelle fans...), but I intend to make a few other changes. Hopefully they will work out for the best. Let me know what you guys think of my first attempt at fanfiction. Here goes... Chapter 1 “Lissa, wake up. Lissa!” The sunlight felt bright on my face as I cracked my eyes open. I wasn’t ready to get up yet; this had to be earlier than normal. “Lissa, they’re waiting on you,” Emm’s voice repeated. That was when I remembered that today wasn’t going to be lesson day. Maribelle, my governess, would soon return to Themis. From now on, I was going to help Chrom as a Shepherd. I nearly succeeded in knocking Emmeryn over as I rocketed out of bed. How had I managed to oversleep on such an important day? “Good morning,” Emm said sweetly as I stripped off my nightgown, nearly ripping the silk in my haste. “Are you nervous?” “I am now!” I shouted in exasperation as I hopped on one foot, trying in vain to shed my smallclothes in exchange for new ones. “Holy crow, Emm. How do you get up this early every day?” She smiled. “You get used to it. And sometimes, it’s hard to sleep. I have the weight of an entire country on my mind. Night is often my best time for sorting out problems.” I winced at her words; this was the closest she’d ever come to complaining. I knew she was exhausted, but she never truly complained, not even to me. In my mind, Emmeryn was a saint. She was everything I wasn’t: the image of physical perfection, fair, patient, gentle, humble, and persevering all at the same time. People looked to her to answer the most unanswerable questions, and she tried to help them. Being the exalted ruler of a war-torn kingdom took all the energy she had and then some, but Emm never let it show. I admired my sister. Perhaps I even envied her, a fact I knew seemed silly. She had it harder than anyone—did I really want that for myself? I tugged my brush through my tangled hair in an attempt to replicate the customary pigtails I always wore. Emm’s lips curled into yet another weak smile as she noted my frustration and came to my rescue. Her soft hands glided over my hair and gently tied the style into place. As she worked, I looked at myself in the mirror. I was nowhere near as pretty as my sister, but that wasn’t what bothered me. My bare limbs shook with inadequacy as I glanced at my skin. It was creamy white, unmarred by any scar or blemish. I stole a glimpse at Emm’s Brand. The sign of royalty graced her forehead more regally than her circlet. I looked back at my naked frame and felt like a commoner. My brand was invisible, or maybe I didn’t have one. Emmeryn’s eyes caught mine in the mirror, and her wise insight caught what I was thinking. “…One of these days, you’ll forgive yourself, Lissa. You’re my sister. No Brand or lack of one will change that. Someday, you’ll understand.” “I hope you’re right.” I knew she was going to say more, but I ignored her and dressed as quickly as I could. “Don’t forget this.” My sister passed my staff to me as I raced for the door. “Be safe. And know that I love you.” I nodded without thinking to respond. She always said that, and we always came back safely. We were royals of Ylisse. We had the power of the first exalt flowing in our veins. Danger couldn’t touch us. The halls attempted to swallow me as I raced to the courtyard where Chrom and Frederick were waiting. My impatient brother was attempting to mask his frustration but was failing miserably. “About time,” he grumbled, his knuckles turning white as he gripped Falchion’s hilt. “Sorry.” I didn’t bother to explain myself. It wouldn’t matter. Our route was simple, and Frederick kept a mean pace. Everywhere, it seemed to be peaceful, idyllic even. For once, Plegia was leaving us alone. By the time we were headed to the last village in the late afternoon, Chrom’s anger had cooled. He hummed a tune under his breath. I suddenly felt very happy. This day had been perfect—so much more exciting than reading, drinking tea, and doing needlework with Maribelle. All at once I felt like dancing, so I gripped my staff and spun in circles in rhythm with Chrom’s song. I laughed with giddy energy. My foot must have caught on a tree limb lying in the field, because I realized with horror that I was going to hit the ground. The impact stung, but I was all right. It would just be a bad bruise. “Lissa! My lady, are you all right?” The over-protective urged his horse to my side. “Yeah,” I replied instinctively and peeled myself off the grass. “How’d this branch get in the middle of an empty field?” But even as I spoke, I realized that what I thought to be a branch was actually a human leg. A shout of surprise rose in my lungs but caught in my throat when I saw I was in no danger. The stranger was fast asleep. “Chrom! It’s a person!” “Huh,” he murmured. “But why here? The town’s close by. Why take a nap here? Hmm.” “Chrom, we have to do something!” I urged. “But what? I know: maybe you could wake her with your staff. I know some of our priests do that.” I sighed at my brother’s ignorance; anyone who knew anything about healing would have known that my staff was too weak for that work. “Chrom, my staff can’t do that,” I retorted and searched my brain for ideas. “I don’t know what we should do.” “First, we should see if she’s injured. Maybe if we tend to her wounds, she’ll wake up,” Frederick suggested. “Lissa, can you do that?” “Yeah. I’m on it.” I tried to let my voice display the confidence I didn’t have. Before long, Chrom and Frederick went off to spar, or ‘make effective use of the spare time,’ as they put it. The clanging of sword against lance made my head pulse, but I forced myself to concentrate anyway. If my care didn’t wake this stranger, the racket would. As I tried to care for her wounds—which, thank the gods, were minimal—I examined this stranger more closely. For someone who was lying in the middle of a field, she was remarkably clean and well-kept: her skin was free of dirt, and her raven hair fell in a neat braid over her shoulder. She had a refined air to her even as she slept. But she didn’t seem to be very old, either. She had to be close to Chrom’s age. I swallowed hard when I saw the mark on her hand. It’s no mark of an exalt, I told myself with a twinge of relief. Still, it reminded me of my own unmarked skin. This is different—too ornate to be Ylisse’s brand. But what did the mark mean? As I picked up the girl’s hand to look more closely, I heard a thud. A thunder tome had fallen from her grasp. A mage? This stranger could be dangerous. That thought made me shudder, but I didn’t let it stop me from healing the last cut on her leg. Enemy or no, I couldn’t just leave her to die, especially after I’d started to help her. “Who are you?” I asked, not expecting an answer. “…Validar…you’ll never get away with this,” the girl muttered in her sleep. “Chrom! She’s coming around!” By the time he was at my side again, the girl’s eyes were inching open. “I see you’re awake now,” Chrom greeted her in a friendly tone. “Hey there,” I giggled. When she was awake, the stranger didn’t seem like she could possibly be an enemy. “You shouldn’t be taking a nap on the ground, you know. Can you stand?” The girl’s dazed look faded a little as she nodded. “Give me your hand,” Chrom instructed. He pulled up the girl’s slight frame with ease. Her hand looked like a dainty china doll in his rough, half-gloved one. “Thank you, Chrom,” the girl said with a weak but genuine smile. “Wha—ˮ I stammered as shock ran all the way to my toes. “How’d you know my name?” “Uh…I guess it just came to me.” She hesitated. “Oh, well. Just as long as you’re okay.” “Where am I?” “The eastern region of the halidom of Ylisse,” I replied proudly. “…Odd. I can’t remember hearing of it before. My brain is all fuzzy, really.” “Right,” Chrom winced with doubt. “What’s your name, stranger?” “…I have no idea. I can’t seem to remember,” she replied matter-of-factly. “Allow me to get this straight,” Frederick began. “You mean to tell me that you can remember Chrom’s name, but not your own? That seems terribly suspicious to me.” “Give her a break, Frederick. She must have hit her head or something. She has amnesia. That’s what the doctors call it. It should go away soon,” I volunteered my knowledge happily. “You’ll heal with time, I’m sure of it. And you can come with us until you get your bearings,” Chrom offered. “Do you think that is wise, my lord? She doesn’t even know her own name. She could just be a very good actress hired by those who seek to destroy you. She might be a spy. Can you really trust her with so little knowledge?” “I…I have a feeling we were meant to find her. Yes, somehow I know we can trust her,” Chrom added confidently. “As you wish, my lord. I just could not simply stand by without voicing my concerns to you.” “I know, Frederick. And while I appreciate your zeal, sometimes you just need to relax. You worry too much. Even Emmeryn says so.” Frederick blushed at the mention of my sister’s name and said no more. Sometimes I wondered if he served my sister for personal reasons that ran deeper than loyalty to the crown. But I wasn’t going to pry, nor did it matter. “Stella!” the stranger exclaimed. “I remember now.” My name is Stella.” She smiled happily. “It’s nice to meet you, Stella.” As Stella returned the pleasantries, I thought I saw the wind tousle her hair in wild wisps above her head. For a moment, Stella looked ominous. A second glance dispelled my sense of unease, but the cure lasted only a moment. Those curls were not hair; they were tendrils of smoke. The town was on fire.
  10. I have noticed, that the A. I. really lacks in FE13. And I don´t talk about the NPC (always bad as ever), but also about the A. I. of the enemies. I have noticed, that range weapon users (archers, mages etc.) don´t attack units, who can´t fight back, instead units, who can fight back. If I put a mage and a myrmidon (with no range weapon) in range of an archer, he would attack the mage. Sure he would cause more damage to the mage and he would have a better hit rate, but therefor the archer would risk to take damage and die.
  11. I basically am just curious to what people created and the waifus they picked for their awakening character. Female character/Dren Body Type 1 Face Type 4 Hair Type 5 Hair Color 8 Voice Type 3 Husband Gaius Child Morgan(I call him Rin instead though) Male Avatar/Sei Body Type 1 Face Type 5 Hair Type 5 Hair Color 19 Voice Type Wife Say'ri Child Morgan(I call her Rei) Well, reply away and stuff C:
  12. *VOTE CLOSED! THANK YOU ALL!* So I recently started a new file on Awakening. I just completed chater 13. The only person married yet is Chrom to Olivia. And I have a Smallest-Build-Male-Avatar. Problem is, I don't know who to marry to him. I already married Tharja on my first playthrough, so I would rather not do that again. I'm considering marrying a 2nd gen character, but the only thing stopping me from doing it is not having 2 kids; only one. So what do you guys think? Marry 2nd gen character? If so, here are who I'm considering: Lucina (Gonna make her a Swordmaster) (Olivia is her mom) Cynthia (When I get her) Severa (When I get her) Nah (When I get her) and Noire (When/If I get her) remember, I have a little shota avatar, so marrying all of them is totally not pedoish Discuss. +Magic/-Res, btw. The person I'm marrying had better have brown hair. My avatar does as well, so Morgan can continue the tradition.
  13. Hello! Welcome to my first Fire Emblem fic - Fire Emblem: Restoration. It is set post-endgame to Awakening, and I welcome any and all criticism, no matter how harsh, so please be sure to leave a comment letting me know how I did! I just have a couple things I'd like to establish before I begin. Happy reading! :) Fire Emblem: Restoration Some days, Gaius felt like the universe just had it out for him. There had been nary a cloud in the sky earlier, but they had rolled in like a tide as soon as the sun hit the rooftops of the town, and they’d brought just as much water with them. With one last look outside the tavern window, he scowled, sighed, and then threw his head back and gulped down a huge swig of sweetened grape juice. There was no way he’d be able to pull off a job under these conditions – his pastries would get soaked. He’d just have to hope that the weather cleared up by tomorrow night. Besides, he thought as he finished off the bottle and let it dangle idly from his fingers, it’s not like he was pressed for time or anything. Ever since the end of the war, jobs had been few and far between. Oh, sure, people had more of everything to spare, but that included time and resources to dedicate to keeping an eye on it. That tended to make things a little trickier. Gaius wiped some of the juice off his lips with his free hand and reminded himself that life after the war it wasn’t so bad. He wasn’t hurting for sweets, and he could always find a roof over his head. The recognition sometimes backfired on him, but overall, he didn’t think that getting to tell the tale of when he stood atop an ancient fell dragon on the verge of destroying the world as it nosedived into the deserts of Plegia was a bad price to pay for all the free drinks it had gotten him. Gaius still marveled at the fact that nobody had fallen off the damn thing, though thinking of that story made him scowl whenever he was alone. Just because no one had fallen off of the dragon’s back didn’t mean everyone had made it home safe and sound… His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden silence all around him, followed by a surge of hushed whispers. Gaius blinked in surprise – this place was usually louder than a pack of scrapping cats, and that’s why he liked it here. The noise helped drown out his more disquieting lines of thought. As his eyes fell on the entryway, he let out a low chuckle and lazily flipped the bottle in his hands and set it on the table. “Well, well, well, this certainly isn’t a visit I ever expected to have.” he said slowly as the cause of the disturbance approached his small table in the corner. “The Exalt of Ylisse himself, come down to mingle with the commoners. I thought you’d learned to count your blessings, Blue. ‘Course, if you want me to treat ya to another night on the town, I’m all for –“ “Gaius, will you please stop talking for just a minute?” Chrom grumbled. “I’ve been looking all over the city for you.” Gaius looked Chrom up and down. He certainly looked like he’d been out for a while – he was soaked to the bone, his hair and cloak sopping wet and dripping all over the floor, forming rather large puddles around his similarly waterlogged boots. “Haven’t seen you in ages, Blue.” Gaius commented, leaning back in his chair. “It’s been what…six months? A year?” “A year and a half.” Chrom answered roughly. “And that’s precisely why I’ve been looking for you.” Gaius stretched his arms behind his back, thoroughly unimpressed by all the incredulous stares the other patrons were giving him. He had to admit, if something like this was happening to someone else, he’d probably stare too. “What, another war come up? Can’t say I blame ya for wanting such a skillful bloke like myself back on your side, but – “ “No, Gaius, we’re not at war.” Chrom sighed, rubbing his eyes. Gaius smirked. Clearly, the royal bird’s feathers were starting to ruffle. “Then what tempts the Exalt of Ylisse out of his gilded cage, hm? Surely you’ve got more important things to tend to than social calls to ol’ Sticky-Fingers Gaius.” “It’s not what tempts me out of the castle,” Chrom said, finally looking Gaius straight in the eye, “but what tempts you in there.” Gaius cocked his head. “Listen, Blue, I’ve broken into the palace treasury before, and while it’s a nice place and all –“ “I’m not talking about the treasury.” “You guys install a royal pastry bakery in there then or something?” “Not quite.” “Lissa got any more of those little candies?” “She’s fresh out at the moment.” “Then there ain’t nothing your palace has got that’s much in the way of tempting.” Chrom snorted. “That’s not true and you know it. What about your son?” Gaius finally flinched at the mention of his son. His face darkened, and he broke Chrom’s gaze to let it drift to the floor. “He’s a good kid. He’s already learned all he can from me. Besides,” he muttered darkly, “he’s not even really born yet, anyway. Hell, the kid might not even get to be born now.” Chrom’s hand clenched at his side, though he was clearly making an effort to stay calm. “Shouldn’t that be all the more reason for you to make sure and spend time with him? He may not be born in this time, but he’s already had to go without a father once. You owe it to him now, when you’re alive and that future has been averted, to at least pretend to care about him.” Gaius scoffed, but still refused to meet Chrom’s eye. “What does he need a dad like me for? In case you forgot, Blue, I’m a thief. Me hanging around the palace isn’t any good for anyone.” “You’re his father, Gaius.” Chrom said sternly. “He’ll always need you. And besides…he’s not the only one who will.” Gaius eyes snapped open as he froze, his very veins turning to ice despite the roaring fire on the other side of the room. The only indication that time itself had not stopped dead in its tracks were his hands - usually steady as a rock under any amount of sugar, they had now begun to tremble ever so slightly in his gloves. Satisfied that he had not turned to a block of ice, he slowly lifted his head back up to stare at Chrom. “What d’you mean?” he asked, voice suddenly tight and strained. “He’s the only one you got up there…isn’t he?” Chrom’s expression finally softened from annoyance to a gentle smile. “Not anymore.” he said, reaching out and placing it firmly on Gaius’ shoulder. “That’s why I came looking for you. We found her.”
  14. So, I had a few ideas about how to rewrite Awakening's plot to be less crap, and although a lot of them are still pretty vague and I've only made it through the first arc or so I'm gonna at least share them here anyway. Fair warning, the Grima and Masked Marth plotlines are changed significantly. And keep in mind that this is just my idea. You all can variously like or dislike it as you will. Firstly, the game would have a sort of more post-apocalyptic world, with ruins of the much more advanced societies of yesteryear scattered about the continents, although the course of technology was different from the real world's due to the presence of magic. (For example, mages and the like may have fired their spells from some sort of guns or something, and they may still!) The Risen would also probably actually be explained and still have ties to Grima, with some "Advanced" Risen actually being characters so the Risen chapters would no longer just be excuses not to have plot for a bit. Secondly, "Marth" would actually be two characters, one of them still Lucina, but the other, well... The plot would progress roughly as normal through to about Chapter 7, where the Hierarch (who would exist starting before that point and have an actual name and unique portrait) would instead survive (possibly slipping away in the chaos of the battle rather than being executed by Vasto at the start) and, rather than Emmeryn going back to Ylisstol like an idiot, would instead be captured as a result of the Hierarch (who would go on to be at the very least a miniboss, promoted to War Monk or most likely Sage by that point) ratting out her new position to the Plegians. Additionally, Emmeryn's sacrifice would likely be changed. Probably rather than just throwing herself off a cliff, she'd get in the way of something to save someone or... I don't know yet. Chapter 6's objective would be changed to "Defend Emmeryn for X turns" and Chapter's changed to "Escape OR Defeat Boss". Additionally, Olivia would be recruited upon completion of Chapter 10 rather than upon beginning Chapter 11. The concluding scene of what in the current game is Chapter 11 (not sure how the rewrites would affect chapter numbers) would be quite different. Instead of simply being supposedly killed in battle and that being that, Gangrel would instead flee into a nearby ruin complex, where Chrom and the Avatar give chase. Exploring the inside in search of their foe, they end up in a strange room with a several layers of broken, previously-securely-locked doors leading into a chamber containing a shattered tank, concluding with frustration that they've lost Gangrel's trail for the moment and starting to head back out of the building, before being cut off by a strange, dragonlike creature emanating "a terrifying pressure" or something, who attacks them in a playable hopeless (but non-Game Over-inducing) boss fight, after which the unconscious, badly-injured duo are found by Frederick and/or the Khans, who pursued them towards the ruins... considering his protectiveness, ol' Fred seems the more likely candidate for this, and Lissa probably tagged along as well. After the two are treated for their wounds, the timeskip transition would occur as normal. Perhaps there would be a couple of intermission chapters played as Gangrel before shifting focus back to Chrom and the Avatar. Gangrel would (quite begrudgingly on both ends) join up with the main group around the start of the Valm arc and serve as another Lord. Second Masked Marth would be the First Exalt, named for the legendary hero king (so he'd be called His Grace King Marth the Somethingth or... something) and Lucina's mentor from the future. He bears a strong resemblance to his namesake, save for striking red eyes (which are due to him as he appears in the story actually being reanimated as a Deadlord: Red is not his natural eye color). While Lucina wields the Parallel Falchion, the First Exalt carries Mercurius and is far stronger. He very well might be fought as a boss later, in which case (being essentially a Great Lord) he'd wield Gradivus which he'd drop upon defeat. He'd also most likely be a party member for a brief time, after which he'd entrust Mercurius to Lucina and Chrom. Some other ideas I had were Validar being descended from Merric and Elice and believing that this gives him claim to the Ylissean throne. He'd wield Excalibur, Goetia being Aversa's tome, and would drop it upon his final defeat. The "strange, dragonlike creature" is Grima, who was created during the war that ravaged the continent as a bioweapon to put a decisive stop to the fighting, which he accomplished a little TOO well, hence the state of the continent. Validar's and the Avatar's ties with him would be changed a bit and as such the choice during the end of the final chapter would be axed, along with the last arc being essentially entirely replaced with something else. Acquisition of Archanea's legendary weapons in general would be incorporated into the main story rather than strictly side content. A lot of these ideas are still rough, and I'm sorry about that. I hope I made enough sense voicing them, at least. [spoiler=Not really relevant but new character voice casting I guess]The Hierarch - Barry Yandell First Exalt - Spike Spencer or Johnny Yong Bosch Grima - Wendy Powell or Greg Ayres
  15. its true it makes like the best noire and its a cute pairing thumbs up if you agree!!
  16. Hello, everyone know that Awakening has terrible multiplayer and for sure many people would like to face each other army against army, like in Shadow Dragon. Do you think is producer planning to add some multiplayer maps to Outrealm Gate? Something like Multiplayer Pack, for sure everyone would purchase it. And if not, is there a way to ask, or even write petition for it, if a lot of players would sign it?
  17. weell, im currently playing FeA with a male avatar, but the problem is idk who to pair him with, any suggestion? :)
  18. Just finishing my HM run with few problems. Looking for tips for playing lunatic, since I've heard it's hard as hell. Also looking for people to pick my units and pairings (Classes and skills also welcome). Not taking the really weird ones though (Ricken!Yarne is just no). Also probably working with a Male MU Parentage: Virion!Inigo(Hero) Gregor!Nah Henry!Cynthia Chrom!Lucina/? Avatar(M)!Morgan/Gerome ?!Owain Vaike!Kjelle ?!Laurent ?!Noire ?!Brady ?!Yarne
  19. Dear fellow Fire Emblem fans, The first Fire Emblem game that I played was the very first one released in the US/ Europe. The game that got me interested was Super Smash bros. melee. Roy was my favorite character, and he was someone I wasn't even familiar with. When Fire Emblem was released for the first time in a language I could understand I immediately bought the game, and fell in love... Fire Emblem is my all time favorite game with Jaffar being my favorite character in this game. (Zach Fair is my all time favorite video game character) With the release of Sacred stones I was once again captivated, but let down at the same time. By the time the endgame had come along all of my characters were lvl. 20/20... Grinding was made possible, and as a result every decision I now made carried significantly less weight. Exp. could be gained unlimited. When Path of Radiance was released I was filled with joy. However after playing through the game without ever having to really think about any of the decisions that I made with once again all of my characters at lvl. 20/20 by the time I finished the game, and to top it all off the story wasn't even done... When the Nintendo DS was released I happened to have enough money to buy one with the hope that one day a Fire Emblem game would be released on the system. What a disappointment Shadow Dragon was... Due to my disappointment with Path of Radiance, and my lack of finances I decided to not buy a Wii, and let this one pass me by. When I caught wind of Awakening being released I pre-ordered the limited edition Fire Emblem 3ds XL. This is the game that I am currently still playing. (Actually the only reason I bought a 3ds, and the only game that I own on a 3ds) I'm on my first play through, (Hard/ Classic) and will not pass any (real) judgement until I've at least beaten it. Due to the possibility of grinding... (I seriously hate grinding...) the difficulty level is a joke, and obviously has nothing to do with why it is taking me so long to beat this game. I'm a very casual gamer, and the story/ game has not been able to motivate me to keep playing out of excitement for what's to come next. That, and I'm very indecisive when it comes to picking a partner for myself, and all of my other characters... I'm actually here to seek help for that... :P (And to thank whoever made the translation to Sword of Seals which I will be playing once I've finished Awakening :D)
  20. http://www.spike.com/vgx/best-rpg'>http://www.spike.com/vgx/best-rpg Well, I haven't heard of this VGX thing before, or it's predecessor, the VGA, but apparently Awakening has been nominated for best RPG for this year's event, which will be on this Saturday. Considering the other nominees, I'd say it has some tough competition, but well, who knows. Thoughts?
  21. I have OCD. In my minmax file I happened to miss the Blessed Bow in Paralogue 3 because I was too focused on saving the villagers. I'm 20 hours into my file. This is bugging me. Part of me wants to shrug it off because it's just a Blessed Bow. Part of me wants to restart the file because of a fucking Blessed Bow. Do you feel the same when you miss a collectible in the game? Or do you simply not give a shit?
  22. Well, I have made two gameplays lines for me: Fem!MU and Male!MU. Both started on normal difficult so i could get used to the game and pairing stuff. Now i'm playing both of them on hard difficult and I plan to make the Fem!MU (which i'm more used to) on the Lunnatic mode. With that explained, i'm asking for a couple of advises, you know. I'm aiming for Apotheosis DLC on normal difficult so...yeah Fem!MU Line Pairings: MUxChrom: MU is a Grandmaster, +LCK -DEF, Galeforce, Ignis, Solidarity, Veteran*, Relief* (I really want to trade those two, any tips?) ; Chrom is the usual Great Lord, all four basic skills, don't know which skill put as the fifith. Children: Lucina, Great Lord; Basic Skills plus Galeforce from MU; Morgan is a Grandmaster just like his mother; Rightful King, Solidarity, Galeforce, Ignis, Veteran* (same from the MU doubt) LissaxLon'qu: I saw somewhere that they produce a very good Owain (Stat speaking). Lissa final class is Sage. Skill list is Miracle, Healtouch, Relief, Tomefaire and Galeforce. I'm training Lon'qu to be an assassin (Lethality), he got all skills from Myrmidom and Swordmaster classes. Child: Owain went to the Assassin, Myrmidom skills, Astra and Galeforce. Don't really know how to work more. FrederickxOlivia: Olivia can kick Frederick's ass and that's funny. Olivia right now have Special Dance, Galeforce, Luck +4, Astra and Vantage and she is doing really great. Frederick on the other is giving me trouble, right now he is a Paladin, skills are Discipline, Outdoor Fighter, Defender, Luna and Dual Guard+. Child: Oh, Inigo. He is staying on Hero class. Armsthrift, Patience, Luna and Galeforce, soon he will get Sol. SullyxVaike: Vaike got Hero class, skills are HP+5, Zeal, Rally Strength, and Counter (I will get better skills for him). Sully went Great Knight, don't really know if will work out. Skills still are Discipline, Outdoor Fighter and Luna. Child: Blonde Kjelle hell yeah. Skill tree is Defense +2, Indoor Fighter, Luna and Counter. I really like her that way. Virion: Not worth a bride. StahlxCordelia: Stahl is a Paladin, exacly same skill tree as Frederick (Discipline, Outdoor Fighter, Defender, Luna and Dual Guard+.). Cordelia is doing perfect as a Hero. The only two skills I like in her are Galeforce and Sol. She still have Rally Movement, Speed+2 and Relief. Child:: Damn it Severa, I love you. Armsthrift, Patience, Luna, Galeforce. Hero Class. Damn it Severa, what's with that hair? MirielxRicken: Miriel is awesome, I really liker her, low defense and little HP on the beginning really are a pain in the neck. Right now she is a Sorcerer, Magic+2, Focus, Vengeance, Hex and Anathema. Ricken went to Great Knight to pass down Luna to Laurent (Don't know if it's a good or bad idea), Magic+2, Outdoor Fighter, Luna, Discipline and Focus. Child: Laurent is a perfect Dark Knight, for me it's his class. Magic+2, Focus, Vengeance and Luna. SumiaxHenry: Cute pairing btw. Sumia went Dark Flier to get Galeforce, skills are the basics: Speed +2, Relief, Rally Movement, Rally Speed. She is a Falcon Knight right now. Henry went to Dark Knight so he could pass Lifetaker to Cynthia. His stills are Hex, Anathema, Slow Burn and Lifetaker, he is an assassin so I can get Lethality. Child: Cynthia is a good daughter, I really want her to fulfill her Hero Dream and blah blah blah. So here, Galeforce and Lifetaker so you can kill two enemies in one round (And still get some HP). KellamxCherche: Not a pairing that I enjoyed, but saw on the internet universe that a good Gerome can come out of this. Kellam went Great Knight, skills: Defende+2, Indoor Fighter, Luna, Rally Defense and Pavise. Cherche (beautiful Cherche) stopped as a Wyvern Lord, Strenght+2, Tantivy, Deliverer, Lancebreaker and Renewal. Child: Gerome is handsome with dark hair. Strenght+2, Tantivy, Renewal and Luna. DonnelxNowi: The destruction pairing. Donnel has Underdog, Armsthrift, Aptitude, Patience and Sol. Like, Holly hell. Nowi has Odd Rhythm, Wyrsmbane, Slow Burn and Lifetaker. She finishes her job in an awesome speed. Child: Nah. Got Aptitude and Lifetaker. You go girl. MaribellexLibra: Maribelle is one of my favorite characters, but i don't really know how to use it. Resistance +2, Demoiselle, Galeforce, Speed+2, Relief is what I gave her. Libra went Dark Knight to end his class change, Healtouch (need to change), Miracle, Lifetaker, Rally Luck and Slow Burn. Child: Brady went Sage, healtouch, miracle, galeforce and lifetaker. Skill and Magic ftw. PannexGregor: Panne the taguel and Gregor the Human. I like it. Panne have Even Rhythm, Beastbane, Lancebreaker, Strenght+2 and Deliever. Gregor got to Swordmaster classes to get Astra, he already have Armsthrift, Patience and Sol. Child: I acctualy haven't used Yarne, but he got Sol and Lancebreaker so I think its ok? GaiusxTharja: Creepy lovely couple. Gaius have Locktouch, Movement+1, Pass and Lethality, should I give him something more? Precious Tharja has Hex, Anathema, Lifetaker, Vengeance and Tomebreaker, awesome Dark Knight. Child: Noir went full sniper. Skill+2, Prescience, Lethality and Lifetaker. Male!MU Line Pairings: 1th: MUxAnna: Made it on the previous save. Really enjoyed red-haired Morgan and I love Anna. 2th: MUxTiki: The Mar-Mar thing got me. Between her and Anna I had to do Anna, should I give a try to get Manakete Morgan? 3th: MUxLucina: I think it's strange (MY MU's are like...bro and sis, so Lucina is kind of family to Male!MU) but does it make a good Morgan? For this one I still have my doubts. I will try to got ChromxSumia (That I don't really like) and some of my Fem!Mu pairings, but anyway, tips, anyone? Ps: I have Smash Brethren 2 and I'm trying to buy Lost Bloodlines 2 to get Dread Scroll. So if you help me without the Dread Fighter class/Skill, I will thank you a lot.
  23. I've avoided FE:A and all them newfangled remakes for quite some time, only playing GBA hacks and whatnot. Then I decided to buy it, and have been absorbed into the vortex that is FE:A. I am now some hours into the game and have just beaten "Hard" mode, and plan on entering into Lunatic mode with a female MU, asset Resistance, flaw HP, and need to plan the best team for Lunatic gameplay. Here are some rules I've set for myself: -Cannot play any DLC maps before Endgame besides The Golden Gaffe (Bullion grinding, woohoo). -Can only play through the main story, Paralogues, Reeking Boxes, and single instances of each Spotpass team before Endgame. -No egregious abuse of Reeking Boxes for mass level ups. -Cannot allow any characters to die (lolwat who would do that anyways). -Only use original characters, no DLC characters as role-fillers. Stuff I want to know: -Best pairings? Reasons optional and helpful. Subjective, but what isn't? Here's a convenient pre-made template, with fill-ins for the fathers: Female Avatar + Chrom = Lucina / Morgan Cherche + Gregor = Gerome Olivia + F = Inigo Lissa + F = Owain Maribelle + F = Brady Cordelia + F = Severa Sully + F = Kjelle Tharja + F = Noire Nowi + F = Nah Sumia + F = Cynthia Miriel + F = Laurent -Recruitment times for children. All I can remember from trawling the Internet was that Lucina is the first recruited child and comes in after chapter 12. Or 13. I am otherwise ignorant of the chapter limitations before children paralogues become available, since I hadn't established many romantic relationships throughout the progress of the game. -Class optimization. Perhaps a better question to answer is: What classes DON'T my characters need to become, on account of their skills being useless for that character/their child? I'm particularly interested in long-term benefits and can play around momentary setbacks (e.g: I would continuously Second Seal a character into unpromoted classes to farm stats and necessary skills, against the benefits of a promoted class with better combat survivability). Format I used: Donnel: Villager -> Mercenary -> Fighter -> Bow Knight -> Hero -> Warrior -Inheritance. Some people make the argument that children always inherit their parent's classes, save for gender-specific stuff, so you should pass that. On the other hand, some people say that certain gender-locked skills, like Counter, are situational and unhelpful to certain characters (Counter for tanky Kjelle). In general, what should the mother and father pass to their child? I've tended to lean towards the level 15 promoted unit skills (Pass>Lethality, Swordfaire>Astra, on the basis of minimizing the amount of time a character spends in the dinky classes of Assassin/Swordmaster). -Things to watch out for in Lunatic. Is anything different, aside from the stats and skills? Are certain skills less useful or necessary? Is what I've set down thus far inherently flawed? Thanks for helping, and for any helpful information!
  24. I can't decide what I want to do with my female avatar, so I'd love to see what everyone else has done or is doing! What are the classes she has/she'll go through, the skills she has/she'll use, and what of her Asset and Flaw?
