  1. First thin's first. This is my very first topic in Serenes Forest! Glad to be here! Anywho, I have been tryin' to pick a male sword user on my PvP team. Of all the possible sword male sword user classes, only Lodestar and Swordmaster has really stuck out for me. The two classes are really similar and I don't understand if Lodestar is truly suppose'd to be superior in nearly every possible way compare'd to Swordmaster with rather minimal drawbacks of bein' a Lodestar instead. Here's the list of pros and cons and ties that each class that I have came up with. I'm lookin' for an endgame sword user, so all my comparisons have been just base'd off the class's max stats. Swordmaster Pros: +1 Strength, +2 Magic. SLIGHTLY hits harder than Lodestar for any kind of sword. +2 Speed. Unless the foe has a negative max speed mod on a Lodestar/Master Ninja/Fast Class or uses a Steel/Heavy Speed Penalty weapon, then the 2 extra points won't matter much. Higher Critical Rate +2 Resist. That's nice to have but... Swordmaster Cons: -5 HP. Really puts Swordmaster's physical survivability far below average than other sword users. It's low HP also spoils the +2 Resist Swordmaster has over Lodestar in taking magical hits too. -3 Defense. As if -5 HP wasn't bad enough for physical hits. -3 Skill. 32 Skill is pretty good for a high proc chance for skills, but if another class has a better Skill, then the said other class would have a better chance of procs. -7 Luck. Which causes the followin' statements... Lower Hit Rate. 18% can be quite big in some situations, but with already high Hit Rate, would that matter much if at all? Lower Avoid. It's by 0.5%, but it rounds up to 1%. 1% is nothin' worth cryin' over, but it's still a "con" in a comparison. Lower Dodge. It's by 3.5%, and it rounds up to 4%. It's a bigger difference than the Avoid, but 4% is still nigh negleable. Neutral: S-Rank sword rank Movement Swords only Non-mount'd No extra unit type (e.g. Dragon/Beast/Flyer/etc.) Unless I'm missin' anythin' else, I can safely say that Lodestar is a bulkier Swordmaster that might hit negligibly weaker. With such advantages, there shouldn't be much of a reason to choose Swordmaster over Lodestar, right? Any other thoughts would be much appreciate'd! Edit #1: Here's some interestin' numbers in regards to defense and such... http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=64579&p=4428960 Edit #2: Here's some more number crunch, but most importantly to take from this is the difference +1 or +2 in damage can make. http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=64579&p=4429784
  2. There's been a topic like this already, I can feel it, but It should be nice to hear everyone out again. Favorite Designs: -Both Berserker Designs. Helmet aside, I like how big and intimidating they look. The pelt around the waste was also a nice touch. The female one has the same effect as the male one, even though the females don't get super buff. -The Paladin Designs. No pants aside, I like the fancy style of the armor they wear. The horses also look nice and fancy. And those finishing animations... Those finishing animations man. -The Snipers, mainly because I like the hunter inspired look they have, which fits for a bow wielding class. Favorite Revamps: -Berserkers. I love me some crits, and I'm glad that they got that back. -Dark Knights. The adjustments made them fit better. I don't think I have a least favorite, but I think that the Ninja/Dread Fighter class's animations are meh.
  3. So with Fates finally accessible to me and it's myriad of new classes, it's encouraged me to start working on my Branching class tree again. One such new class was the Kinshi Knight, which I really like. I've wanted a mounted Bow User for a while. I already had a flying bow user with my Griffon Hunter class however so at first I decided I'd just make kinshi Knight a DLC class. But that was a little too easy a solution so with much thought I decided to try add the new class naturally into my own tree. Here's the result. [spoiler=Old Idea] If you're having trouble making out the weapon icons you can open the image in a new tap to zoom in. [spoiler=New Idea] So I'd like a bit of feedback if possible on which of the two of these is a better idea. My main reservation with the newer update is that there are now more swords than lances or axes which I don't particularly think are really suited all that much for flying units (talking aesthetically). I suppose I could swap the basic pegasus rider to be mono lance like they are in a lot of games but I had a nice thing going with three different base units each specialising in swords, lances and axes each. The updated version also might be more confusing to some people, especially when taken in context with the full class tree (for those who are actually confused right now, Griffon Rider, Pegasus Knight and Dragon Rider are the three tier 1 classes. Green lines denote tier 1 -> tier 2 promotion and red lines denote tier 2 -> tier 3 promotions, blue numbers indicate movement). A slightly sillier reservation that I have is that I prefer my Pegasus!Phoenix Knight sprite over my Bird!Phoenix Knight and don't particularly want to can it. Anyway I want to hear your opinion about the setups so tell me what you think. Along with any other ideas you might have regarding the future of aerial mounts in the series.
  4. New names, skills, tweaks, anything works! I already have every class added, but some have more care put into them than others, so getting some Third Parties to comment on it would be pretty cool. Anyway, here it is! Also, if this is the wrong place for this, sorry, I'm new to SF. If there's a better place, I'll delete this post and bring it back over there. https://docs.google....dit?usp=sharing Comment away!
  5. Now that Anna has been out in the States for a while now, what is deemed the best class (including all DLC classes because I have access to them) for Anna? Some people are suggesting staying some sort of bow class and just using the shining bow, but it's hard to forge a +7 one, and it cannot trigger offensive skills or crit. I have actually been considering about Witch, but what do you guys think is the best option and why?
  6. I felt like posting about some class concepts I thought of. I made this first one here. Here's one class for now. I might add more. [spoiler=Emblemier] Emblemier A time traveling collector of unknown origin. (Male Only) - S - S - S (Can wield the Three Regalia) Highest Attributes: Magic, Luck, Skill. Lowest Attributes: Speed. Max Stats: Growths: HP: 60 35% Str: 29 25% Mag: 36 40% Skl: 45 30% Spd: 25 15% Lck: 50 25% Def: 29 20% Res: 30 40% Mov: 6 Skills Level 1: Foresight Grants Avo +25 if the enemy engages the attack. Level 15: Lucky Shot If a hit misses, unit gets to strike again with Crit +30. Can activate only once per attack. Trigger: Luck ÷ 5 Level 25:Telekinesis Allows unit to attack from 1-2 range with any weapon, 1-3 for weapons that already have 1-2. Level 40: Naga's Shield Magical attacks will not damage this unit unless it is a critical, which it will only do 1/4 damage. Trigger: Resistance%. Classes Emblemier -> --- Master Ninja Ninja -> Mechanist. Bow Knight Mercenary -> Hero I designed the skill sprites myself. Please feel free to give advice on what to change
  7. We know that in GBA games, Strength and Magic don't co-exist? What if they did? Assume a re-make of any of those games on a different platform. What classes they have Magic Knights/Combat Medics?
  8. I have never once seen a forum on this, but I'm trying to get into online matches in Fire Emblem Fates (Yes, I know about all the bullsh*t hacking and what not, so please don't just post that). Aside from obvious OP skills and weapons: 1) What classes are particularly good online? 2) Is diversity in a team of 5 important? 3) What would be some good teams? (Just list classes and not actual units please)
  9. After playing Before Awakening DLC, I was kinda disappointed that Chrom or Fredrick didn't gave the Avatar a brand that allows the user to become the class "Lord". It's even more disappointing the class "Lord" isn't available for the avatar in the game. What's having the class to appear if you can't obtain it? ...... When will this class be added as DLC? They can't have it to appear once and never appear again.
  10. I finished my first playthrough of Birthright, and I am extremely close to finishing my first playthrough of Conquest. For Birthright, I chose +Speed -Res. I liked it, apart from the fact that even using dragonstones I couldn't play Corrin very defensively (and I had to keep him away from magic users). I found the ability to also heal others nice if a bit strange for an otherwise offensive unit. For Conquest, knowing that the Yato in that version boosts defense and res, I chose +HP and -Def because I heard that that combination would be able to withstand a lot of enemy attacks. Despite the Yato and Dragonstones, it wasn't. My HP was second to only Keaton, but my defence and res were still in the 10s by the time I was level 20/10. I liked the ability to use tomes but it was a bit redundant when I already had Elise, Felicia and Leo as magic units. In Revelation I plan on using either Hoshido Noble or Nohr Noble and I plan on using both the Yato and dragonstones (I found it surprisingly useful in both routes). I know that the Yato boosts strength, speed, defence and res. I don't know whether Hoshido Noble or Nohr Noble would be better for Revelations and I don't know what boon/bane would be best for utilizing the strength and speed boost when wielding swords as well as the boost to defences when using dragonstones. Essentially, I need a build that doesn't compromise strength, magic, speed, or whichever defensive stat is more useful (defence or res). So I'm asking: What Boon/Bane is best for Revelations and which final class is better: Hoshido Noble or Nohr Noble?
  11. I having trouble chosing a class so i want to see what other people choose.
  12. I'm playing Conquest (hard/classic, if it matters) and I wanna try my hand at planning ahead. Is the Lodestar class viable? I know Xander benefits from it quite a bit, but would it be acceptable to not change him into another class?
  13. Hey guys! I recently maxed out Camilla in my Conquest game and I was wondering if I should use an Eternal Seal for her, or change her class (it would have to be a class that can get exp after Lv. 20). Here are my options! CURRENT: Malig Knight Lv. 20 Rating: 179 Skills: Rose's Thorns, Str+2, Lunge, Savage Blow, Trample Move:8, Atk:52, Crt:26, Hit:117, Avo:36 HP:39 Str: 35 Spd: 23 Mag: 21 Lck: 23 Skill: 27 Def: 26 Res: 24 Option 1: Use Eternal Seal and keep upgrading her as a Malig Knight. Option 2: Class Change Options (**please also let me know if these options max out at 20 as well, which would be counter-intuitive. I'm looking for a class that will keep gaining exp after lv 20**) BERSERKER (rating: 175) Move:6, Atk:57, Crit: 47, Hit:120, Avo:42 HP:45 Str:40 Spd: 27 Mag: 15 Lck:23 Skill:29 Def:23 Res:18 HERO (rating: 179) Move: 6, Atk:52, Crit: 28, Hit: 124, Avo: 42 HP:41 Str:36 Spd:26 Mag:15 Lck:26 Skill:31 Def:25 Res:20 WYVERN LORD (rating: 178) Move:8, Atk:52, Crit:28, Hit:123, Avo:39 HP:40 Str:36 Spd:24 Mag:15 Lck:26 Skill:30 Def:28 Res:19 --- What do you guys think? I like her as a flyer, so I was thinking of eternal seal or Wyvern Lord, if that class gains exp after lv. 20 BUT... Hero and Berserker are also hard to give up, I lose movement, but gain in other areas. Pros/Cons? ... Also, this is all null and void if the other classes max at 20... Thanks!
  14. I've been trying to find an answer, promise. I can't figure out if there's truly EXCLUSIVE classes between the two game versions. I chose Mage as my Avatar's talent, and I'm playing a Nohr campaign. Say I wanted to be able to reclass into Swordmaster at some unknown point during my playthrough. If there are no swordmaster companions during the Nohr playthrough, I'd be unable to acquire that class via friendship/partner seals, and thus my only option to get Swordmaster available in my campaign would be to select it as my Avatar's starting talent. Are there ANY classes where this is the case? Where you must select a particular class as a talent in order to have that class available during your playthrough in a specific game? So far I've received nothing but ambiguity or conflicting answers, I was hoping to get a definitive response and/or a list of classes that are truly exclusive to one version or the other. Thank you very much!
  15. Hello, I'm new to this forum. I recently started playing Fire Emblem Fates and I would like to ask which classes are good for Kamui/Corrin, because I would like to reclass him. I'm playing Hoshido/Lunatic atm, but I would like to know for Nohr as well. Icwas thinking of making him a samurai for Hoshido (so I could use Yato, since i's only for Kamui) and pair him with Kagerou. Is it a good choice? Is Kamui good as a magic class too?
  16. Hello all, I am trying to plan what order I will be using seals in for my first playthrough and would like to know if anyone knows what chapters we acquire our first seal, (any of them). Also, In your opinion, is it going to be better to use a buddy seal before or after we have promoted? I suppose the case will change based on the characters involved but I'd love to hear some opinions. Cheers
  17. Hello all, I am trying to decide what class I want to choose as my secondary for my Nohr playthrough but I need clarification on how buddy seals work when Kamui uses them. My plan is to pick Ninja for copy-cat so I can pass it down through inheritance. What I am wondering is what would happen if I used a buddy seal on Kaze. His secondary class is Samurai so would I get samurai or nothing? I want to be a Weapon master but I want to pass down ninja. Also, If Kamui marries Azura, does Kanna get ninja, dark prince and peg knight and would Shigure get the same? Anyone know?
