  2. I'm planning another Conquest playthrough and I wanted to get all of the children, which is why I wanted to marry my Male Corrin to either Ophelia or Velouria, since I think it is generally agreed that Velouria and Ophelia are the best children for physical and magical combat respectively. Who do you think is better suited to be Kana's mother? I will select Asset and Flaw for Corrin depending on your answers! Thanks for your help!
  3. Two aspiring writers and friends of mine recently put together a 40 minute review for Fire Emblem Fates Birthright, Conquest and (part of) Revelation, only recently released in the UK. They discuss the new features that help improve the "Awakening" formula, others they aren't so fussed about, and the character writing that made the all important decision so difficult for them. Hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/-bpqjAsbXEg?t=28m45s
  4. WARNING: This story will have Conquest spoilers, especially as it goes on. You have been warned. Meet Fate and Jurgen. Nohr has a corrupt king. This is not new knowledge. Nohrians have been suffering under Garon's rule, and relations between Nohr and Hoshido have been strained to say the least since the death of the Hoshidan king, Sumeragi. Naturally, this caused dissent within the Nohrian populace. People starved, men and women were drafted into the army to fight without a cause. Dissent breeds rebellion, and before long there were numerous groups of people aiming to end Garon's rule and breathe life back into the dying land of Nohr. Growing up under such harsh conditions, it's no surprise that Jurgen joined one of these groups as soon as he was old enough to wield a sword and properly fight, timid and cowardly as he was. Nohr's warmongering had cost him his father, and his heirloom golden blade is a constant reminder as to just what he's fighting for. While he has proven perhaps too cowardly for the front lines, Jurgen has a good heart and strong morals. Perhaps now is his chance to prove himself, as the rebellion is stirring and soon it will be time to act. Fate, or so she has called herself since she left her homeland of Hoshido, is a warrior, through and through. Her family often used to joke that she was born with a naginata in hand, and was rarely seen without one. This warrior's spirit saw her join the service of the Hoshidan army, but the peace maintained by Queen Mikoto meant that Fate rarely saw true battle. Upon hearing of a growing rebellion in Nohr, Fate decided to leave for Hoshido's sister country and help prevent war in her own homeland by striking at its source. Unfortunately for Fate, her disguise as a Nohrian was perhaps too good and now she finds herself in the sticky situation of dealing with having to take Garon's orders while rebelling at the same time. Fate and Jurgen have become close friends, often fighting together and helping each other out when it comes to defying King Garon. With the Nohrian princes and princesses themselves practically begging them two save their country and father, there is no way that the pair could turn down such a request. Perhaps it was unwise to act without the support of the revolution behind them, but sometimes things just have to be done.
  5. Hi, I'm going to start a conquest lunatic run and I've got a few questions. I've already beaten conquest on normal, now I want my golden nohr badge. Thank you.
  6. For my last Birthright run, I put up a lot of statues and got them all gold so I could have my army be as powerful as possible prior to the Endgame. Now, for Conquest, I wanted to do the same thing, but it's more frustrating when there are no challenges, and I can only play the DLC maps over and over so many times. I do have less statues this time around, though, and currently: most are silver, two are gold, and two are bronze. I can probably quickly get the silver ones to gold, but what about the two bronze ones? They represent Elise and Flora, both increasing resistance, so I think the only other unit who'd benefit from the gold would be Nina. What do you think I should do?
  7. My Birthright PMU is almost finished, and it is time to begin the Conquest PMU soon! Rules - 15 units including corrin will be in this playtrough. 5 of which will be children. Kana is not required. - I will create my character, but you can decide the Boon, bane and talent. Also the class what she will be. This will be chosen by one person. I'm using a female - Characters may be reclassed. Every reclass option (also from Friendship seals and partner seals) are allowed - I won't be using dlc for this game. So you can have 2 dark falcons, 2 dread fighters, 1 Lodestar, and 1 Great Lord and either A ballistician OR a Witch. Using any of these classes at all is not required. - Tell me how I can get reclassed classes. - Pairings may also be decided. I don't care if I'm using them on my actual team or not. Characters 1. Female corrin (Witch) +Def -Mag 2. Swordmaster Leo (A+ Odin) 3. Strategist Xander (S Corrin) 4. Adventurer Beruka (S Niles) 5. Sniper Effie (A+ Mozu) 6. Master Ninja Elise (S Kaze) 7. Master of arms Kaze 8. Falcon Knight Silas (S Azura) 9. Sorcerer Peri 10. Hero Keaton Children 11. Siegbert (Strategist) (A+ Forrest) 12. Great Knight Velouria (Mother Peri) 13. Wyvern Lord Nina (Mother Beruka) 14. General Dwyer (Mother Effie) 15. Paladin Kana (Father Xander)
  8. Basically what it says in the title. I just cleared Chapter 11, and it was quite hard, but I feel that overall, Birthright!Hard is a tad easier than Conquest!Normal. I had to reset once for the first time during Chapter 11, due to an unlucky miss from Oboro, whereas I had to reset at least three times overall in Conquest. I have waited until I had finished all three paths on Normal/Casual, because I wanted to enjoy the story first until I tried hard, so maybe I've just gotten better at the game, but maybe my hypothesis really is right. What do you guys think? Do you believe so as well? Or is there anything to Birthright!Hard that I am not seeing yet? I'm doing a no-grind run on Classic, by the way. And another thing: I'm scared of even trying Conquest!Hard, let alone Lunatic after thinking this. Conquest!Normal was bad enough already and I really don't want to have to rely on the Royals, which I fear I will have to, though. At least I got through Revelations without ever using a single one of them.
  9. So i'm not a veteran of Fire Emblem, I've only played Awakening and now I'm playing Fates, starting with the Birthright path. So I've been thinking on how exactly I should reclass my avatar, and most likely other units, but i'm not sure about how to go about doing it. In Awakening I didn't actually know about reclassing and stuff for the skills till like midway through. The path I went for with most characters in Awakening was to: level them up to their max level in base class --> upgrade to an advanced class and max level them --> reclass to another class for skills --> then back to their original advanced class since I like keeping them at what they're supposed to be But it seems like in Fates there are some limitations which would not allow me to do this, so for example, if I'm currently a lvl 16 Nohr Prince, and my 'talent' is Samurai, how exactly should I go about doing things if I want my avatar to have Astra/Swordfaire and/or Lethality I've been thinking a lot about like who I should marry (I'm having trouble choosing between Hana and Kagero, though Felicia or Azura seem pretty good too...) and what skills I want for all the 2nd gen characters and such... So if you think you can help me out in choosing who I should marry and which would have the most benefits (with stats and skills) and explain if the reclassing thing better for my it would be very much appreciated! (Thanks for reading and sorry if you feel as if this was too long and/or went off topic, I ended up just putting all my questions onto this post)
  10. I know the newer FE titles get a lot of hate, especially Fates, but I absolutely fell in love with Conquest. I've been with the series since right after FE7 first released in Europe (I was born in Serbia and lived there most of my life) and managed to snag an English PAL copy. Immediately, I was head over heels. Smash didn't get me hyped, and I didn't come into the series late. The second it left Japan, I was on board. On top of this, I've played through and beaten every single FE game AND the spinoff/related titles like the TS games numerous times. So needless to say I'm no series noob, and the older Fire Emblem elements everyone seems to love is what I knew the second I fell in love with the series. Now, I love Awakening (I love all FE games, except FE2 and FE5 though I still enjoy those titles) a lot, and I even like Birthright a lot as well (it was really ambient and you got access to most of the new classes immediately) and Revelations I feel had a good story, even though it wasn't quite on par with FE9 and FE10. Though I still have this, pit, in my stomach when I play those games because they're missing some of what I came to love so much all those years ago. Conquest, cured this. Now, Conquest is STILL a lot different than the older Fire Emblem titles, the new weapon triangle system is still present, weapons just go on in terms of usage forever, forging exists, the castle shit, etc. I LIKE all those things, I genuinely hope they stay because you're not just calculating how much a weapon weighs anymore. It used to be, any character with high constitution could use whatever weapon and suffer no penalty for it. In Fates, using shit like Silver weapons can cripple your next attack, and Steel weapons can prevent you from doubling outright. A lot of people bitch and moan about this, but I rather like it. It adds more strategy to the game, as do skills. It's no longer as cut and dry as it used to be, now, provided you're playing on a harder difficulty where you haven't ubergrinded the hell out of your characters (Which Birthright and Awakening let you do RELIGIOUSLY, Conquest doesn't give hardly any grinding options which I love) you're actually going to have to make some REAL calculations when you're playing through the game. Older FE got too easy, even on the hardest of difficulties. The RNG system was extremely predicable and was even easily manipulated, weapon types had no drawbacks other than weight, some characters like Swordmasters and Berserkers could effortlessly become OHKO machines when given killer weapons and how much damage an enemy could do was all easily calculated. I see a lot of bitch moaning over shit being luck based. People really don't like it, I guess I can see why because it's entirely out of their control. The thing for me is, luck is a REAL factor on REAL battlefields. On a real battlefield, you can't just predict and calculate your way into perfect victory after victory, if so this planet would have one country, The United Empire of Earth. Adding luck based variables like certain skills triggering, a less predictable RNG system and some other things makes the game feel more real, and it's a looming variable that makes you weigh your choices more carefully. Conquest did what I dreamed of, it kept all the new shit I loved with the newer games and even added some of its own new and good shit, but it also took away a lot of the things that made the newer games laughably easy and brought some of the old school FE traits back. Now, I do not think Conquest is as soul crushingly difficult as a lot of people say it is, though it DOES have difficulty, but there are times on Lunatic (and even on Hard mode early on in the game) where Conquest will absolutely fist you. This is not a bad thing, if you don't get wrecked by the game every once in a while, you start getting careless. Getting wrecked makes you a better player, plain and simple. I also really enjoyed the Fates storylines, because I don't nitpick for tropes and the like when FE is a series that has been littered with troupes and archetypes since its birth. All in all, the comeback of the older Fire Emblem elements that prevents you from going godmode on the game by grinding your team into oblivion as well as making the map goals a bit more diverse was really, REALLY nice to see, then that combined with the new elements in my opinion makes this the best game in the series. Though the Dragon Veins are fucking stupid, there's no getting around that. Anyway, I'm sure not everyone will agree with me, this IS just my opinion. Though I'm just making this because I wonder how many old school FE players really liked Conquest the way I did due to the wonderful combination of old and new.
  11. Since you guys (for the most part) seemed to enjoy the 1-turn clear of Chapter 14, here is another 1-turn clear, possibly more interesting due to the more complicated nature of the map. I'm pretty certain I can't do this without using the Rescue staff; it might be possible if one had a couple of extra shove/swap-bots, but I didn't have time to capture any more than the 2 I got in Chapter 10, and it was already difficult enough to get those guys 2 levels while racing through the past few maps, so I imagine it would probably be impossible to get more than 1 more shove-bot trained up with maximal RNG abuse, if even that. If you throw in the 2 Boots from the path bonuses, things become a little more interesting... I can investigate this and see if something works out if you guys want. Not sure if this is something to do in a full playthrough LTC context, since it's possible that there are better uses of the Rescue staff later, but nevertheless an interesting strat imo. Didn't bother to record good level ups for obvious reasons. Oh and also, the speed issue is still there so watch it at 2x speed for maximal viewing pleasure.
  12. Enjoy! Note that since I'm using sucky recording software, there is a big slowdown, so you should view the video at 2x speed.
  13. Hi I am back for another PMU. I don't wanna ramble, so children are allowed, be ruthless, and yeah...Normal DLc limitations besides 2 dread and dark fliers. 1. Falcon Knight MU!Shigure 2.Dark Falcon Leo 3.Master of Arms +Str/-Lck MU 4. Wyvern Lord Camilla 5.Berserker Nyx(A+ Charlotte) 6.Strategist Elise 7.General Effie 8.Butler Xander 9.Sorc Benny(S rank Nyx) 10.Paladin Selena(A+ Peri) 11.Hero Peri (A+ Peri) 12.Great Lord Felicia 13.Ballistian Arthur 14.Sorceror Charlotte 15.Butler Percy 16.Dark Flier Dwyer Please note I might have missed your post, but I also felt like this was the worst team possible so yeah :D
  14. Hey guys. I need some advice on how to beat Chapter 10 in Hard Conquest. I'm having a lot of trouble getting past the first few turns. Moreover, it's getting really frustrating as just one missclick can cost the entire run. Not to mention the stupid 91-92% misses my units are getting. Is there anything I can do or I need to just pay a lot of attention. Last, is Ch. 10 the hardest in Conquest? I hope so, but I have a feeling that I'll be really satisfied when I clear it. It's not nearly as boring as, say, Arcadia from FE6. I can provide additional details if needed (I already watched Mangs' guide to Chapter 10 and it's made my life a little bit easier, but I still have some problems)
  15. Sorry if I'm breaking formatting rules I'm new but I want to ask a quick question. I'm currently playing through Fire Emblem Conquest and loving it but I purchased DLC and reclassed Odin to Grandmaster. I have an old save file that hasn't beaten the Hidden Truths 2 yet but I don't know if I will get a Fell Brand on this save file if I already beat it on another of the same playthrough. I also beat the Vanguard Dawn map on the further play through and I don't know if I will get these items again if I beat the map on the old play through. The reason being I want to reclass Odin to Dread Fighter and Niles to Grandmaster instead of Odin Grandmaster and I don't want to waste a Vanguard Brand as well. Sorry if this is hard to understand. Thanks in advance for responses.
  16. I'm very close to the endgame (going to do chapter 27). However I'm a bit unsure about myself if I can beat the final two chapters. I'd like to have a few advices of you how to be prepared correctly. A few facts of my playthrough: playing normal classic My units are ~ level 16 in average (between 10-19). My endgame units are: Corrin, Arthur, Effie, Elise, Beruka, Camilla, Percy, Niles, Felicia, Leo, Xander, Mozu, Azura, Selena I haven't used any of the status items yet (including boots) except for the two arms scrolls. Wasted one on Mozu and gave on to Arthur so he could use the Aurgelmir ofchapter 26. There's no way for me that anyone can use Excalibur and the Revive stave because their weapon level isn't high enough. I'm going to sell them. Corrin is actually pretty bad. Not only that he's only level 13 but also his level ups were disappointing for the most part. He's fast but that's it. His strength is only 20. I used a heart seal only on Camilla and made her a wyvern lord. I have only one rescue stave left and four freeze staves. I could buy a couple of trap staves in the stave shop. I have about 60000 gold. So my questions: Who to give which status boosts (especially boots)? What to buy in the shops (was thinking about the status drinks which are very favorable)? Which skills are very important for the endgame?
  17. I'm extremely curious about the Omega Yato. I was doing a my castle battle in a random castle and something weird happened. My Soleil, whose skills are Vantage, Counter, Rend Heaven, Astra, and Lifetaker, attacked the enemy avatar who had the omega yato equipped. I thought "Ok, i have 30 hp, whateves she dies for the castle battle no big. OH WAIT, she has counter, so i should kill him if he hits" however, with his 44 dmg x2, counter didn't activate. My question is, does the Omega Yato nullify counter? because Soleil was attacking adjacent to him, yet it didn't activate.
  18. As far as I'm aware, anyway, he seems to be, especially in Revelations. I haven't played the Radiant games (can't find any at a decent price), but I'm pretty sure they have an Oifey, too.
  19. Hello everyone! Does anyone have any strategies to do chapter 14 of Conquest? Everything goes well until those pesky Kinshi Knights/Pegasus Knights reinforcements come in, their high speed makes it hard for my party to deal with them! Thank you!
  20. Hey, y'all! Started my Conquest playthrough two days ago and decided on getting / using some if not all child characters and I've been wondering who the best mother for a dragonstone-focused Kana would be. I know Dragonstones deal magic damage in this game, so someone with good magic will be a given. I'd like your opinion on who is the best suited for the job. My Avatar has his asset in skill and his flaw in HP, by the way. Here's the list of potential mothers who I think are good mages... maybe. I am on Chapter 13, so I assume I don't have everyone: - Nyx - Ophelia (with the mother being Felicia) there's also Elise, but... well, you know.
  21. Ok,so you know how in chapter 16 of conquest you have to interrogate soldiers right? Is there anyway to prevent a lot of money from being stolen this chapter? Also, Is ashura always the soldier you talk to? Because he is for me most of the playthroughs I've done. Any help at all will be appreciated!
  22. I've paired Odin with Selena and their supports are very cute and funny, but there's a downside, neither of them seem to particularly benefit statistically and Ophelia's pretty weak too. Would Camilla be a better match during my next playthrough? Ophelia would be able to become a Malig Knight, meaning she'd get to keep her magic abilities and gain decent physical stats too. Plus I think she'd look better with purple hair than red.
  23. Hey, everyone! DragonFlames here with another possibly stupid question! I just finished playing through Birthright and am now planning on doing a no-grind (no Boo Camp) Conquest run and I just wanted to know if the child characters on this route are worth gunning for or if I can make do with the units you get during the main game. I ask this because in my Birthright run, even with grinding, the only children I ever used were Selkie, Kana and sometimes Midori and/or Sophie. I did get everyone (except for Hayato's kid, because **** that little brat), but I didn't bother with them after promoting them once, because I found the characters I already had were better at that point. Another question, relating to this one is this: I heard quite a few times that Velouria is a god-like unit and also a child character. If I want to get her, who would you suggest to be her mother to ensure the best Velouria? Thanks in advance!
  24. I'm just wondering which one I should play first or if it even makes a difference which one I play first.
  25. My cartridge currently holds the power of Gay Fates Hack, Twin Kanas (male & female Kana), and save editing. Meaning that soon, I'll have a my castle available with every skill unlocked on every character + hair colour changing abilities + class changing abilities + every gem "My castle" resource + much more! I'll be sharing my castle when it's complete so everyone can get access to abilities and / or characters (recruitment) for every revelations character. However, to finish this I'll need to get every character. Including the second generations characters. Here is a list of all the pairings I currently have and / or considering (???) as marriage pairings. I'd like everyone to suggest their favourite fan pairings, with no limitations attached! This meaning everyone can marry anyone, including second generations and "special" characters (i.e Scarlet, Gunter, Flora etc) Current Pairings: * Odette (MU) x Rinkah * Ryoma x Scarlet * Leo x Niles * Odin x Elise * Subaki x Felicia * Azura x Hinoka??? OR * Hinoka x Camilla??? * Kaze x Silas * Keaton x Mozu * Kaden x Setsuna * Saizo x Orochi * Takumi x Selena * Hayato x Sakura * Nyx x Arthur * Laslow x Charlotte??? * Benny x Beruka??? * Hinata x Beruka??? * Azama x Oboro??? Revelation Characters reference: http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/revelation/character-recruitment/ + DLC characters, such as; Anna, Ike, Marth, Lucina, and Robin (possibly?) My Castle will feature a daily character and / or skill change daily (if I have the time.) But you'll be able to request from multiple sources to have the characters + skills changed as you'd like them.
