  1. The problem I'm having with this map is approaching. I tried to get Nuibaba to cast herself down to 1 HP with her Medusa spell, but ran into difficulties with a Bow Knight who could kill whoever took Medusa, and the fact that the Arcanists that surround her can heal. I've tried circling around the mansion to enter from the back, but I don't have an effective way to deal with the Arcanists as no one can tank Mire nor Death that well, even with the Hexlock shield. Also hurting this is that Nuibaba also covers that entrance with her insane 1-7 range. How should I go about this map?
  2. Since the latest Nintendo Direct shown that there is an upcoming Super Smash Bros. title happened today and the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch system on 2018. But, we haven't seen any footages nor any characters revealed for the upcoming Fire Emblem Switch title and they haven't shown the Fire Emblem Switch title in today's Direct. I'm guessing that we could see Alm (he does use a bow since he does use a bow in his Hero class on Gaiden and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and it would avoid use the Plain Swordsman category since what happened to Chrom when he was going to be planned during at Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U) or probably add Celica since Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was released last year and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia did managed to sold well outside of Japan and it did managed to outsold Pokemon Sun and Moon's numbers since May as one of the Top 10 Best Selling Nintendo 3DS games. However, since the upcoming Fire Emblem Switch title is coming to the same year as the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title, but we have no idea which games is going to be coming out first. I totally think the Fire Emblem Switch protagonist is probably going to be showing up either as an Unlockable Newcomer similar to like Roy in Super Smash Bros. Melee since Roy's game The Binding Blade did released after Super Smash Bros. Melee or he/she will might show up as a DLC Newcomer similar to like Corrin since Fire Emblem Fates did released after Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. I don't think it would make any sense and we don't exactly know if he/she will show up as a default fighter since his/her game is going to be coming this year if the Fire Emblem Switch title as well as the Super Smash Bros. Switch title and we still don't have a single release date confirmed other than confirmed 2018 for both of these titles. I know that Sakurai did add Roy and Corrin to the roster as Unlockable, DLC, vice versa since Sakurai did said he's a big fan of the Fire Emblem series and I totally think we could see the upcoming Fire Emblem Switch protagonist being appearing for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Switch title sometime during at the development. What do you guys think how will the protagonist of the upcoming Fire Emblem Switch title will show up for the upcoming Nintendo Switch title of Super Smash Bros.? I'm pretty sure we could see some or a few Nintendo related characters (like any ARMS characters, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, etc.) who debut from the Nintendo Switch games that were released around 2017 through early or mid 2018 will might show up for upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch either as default, unlockable, or even DLC newcomers. Edit: The E3 Presentation and the latest Nintendo Direct confirms the new title for both games revealed to be as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for December 9, 2018 and Fire Emblem: Three Houses is now set to Spring 2019 instead of 2018.
  3. I was wondering what exactly are the reinforcements and the overall map at the "Creation" battle, It would be super helpful, I haven't seen the full map or reinforcements anywhere.
  4. I went with Gray being a Mercenary, Tobin being an Archer, Kliff being a Mage, Faye being a Cleric, and Atlas being a Mercenary/Cavalier. Well what are the best options?
  5. I never even got Deen, because he is the worst between him and Sonya, in order to get Sonya I had to give up on Deen, so with Jesse, Saber, and Kamui, which classes should they be once they become villagers?
  6. OK, since the success of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, people have seen that Both stories of Mystery of the Emblem, War of Shadows, and War of Heroes have been remade, and everyone is speculating that Genealogy of the Holy War is going to be remade next, but the Director of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Kenta Nakanishi wants to remake Binding Blade next, Binding Blade was fan translated, and wasn't very good, but an official release of a Binding Blade remake will make up for it's mistakes, so here's how I would like the game to be like. The Gameplay. The GBA trilogy had amazing gameplay, but out of the 3 Blazing Sword had the best map layouts, the only issue I have with Sacred Stones' map layouts is that it had too many advantages, and the maps were far too easy, except for the final maps of the game, Binding Blade, had a bit of a poor map layout, honestly since it is going to follow the same maps of Binding Blade, I think this will be left unchanged unfortunately. The Difficulty. The Hard mode can be unlocked if you complete the game once, and some units get bonuses, in Hard Mode, but if Intelligent Systems manage to put Normal, and Hard Mode on it on the 1st gameplay, and once Hard Mode is completed, Lunatic Mode will be available, and considering that New Mystery of the Emblem carried out the Casual Mode for new players to enjoy, it will be added on here, but Rutger, Sin, Milady, and Percival get hard mode bonuses, I consider Casual Mode, and Normal Mode to be treated as Easy Mode. Seperate Paths. In Chapter 9, you are given the choice between 2 villages to rescue, depending on your choice, it alters the next 2 chapters, if you get Larum, then you'll pick up Echidna, and a better Gonzales, for more effort to train, and a late promotion, if you get Elffin, then you'll get Bartre, and a worse Gonzales, for an early promotion, and less effort to train, also after you get through Retaking the Capital, or Pinnacle of Light, depending on how you level up Shanna, Thea, Sue, and Sin, if Shanna and Thea's levels are higher, you go to Ilia, and if Sue and Sin's levels are higher, you go to Sacae, depending on your choice between Larum, and Elffin, one becomes a playable character while the other is resigned to Fortune Telling, and depending on your choice, one Divine Weapon will be obtained on your own while the other is obtained by the Elimine church and you get either Juno, or Dayan, if you choose to go to Ilia, you get Juno, and Maltet, if you choose to go to Sacae, you get Dayan and Murgleis, I think that it would be interesting to get both of them on your own, 1st you go to Ilia, then you go to Sacae, or there should be multiple conditions of victory to decide which path you should take, like Route the Enemy, you go one route, and the other route, you Defend a Stronghold, or Seize one. The characters. You know what's a load of shit? Thieves cannot promote into Assassins in Binding Blade, and Assassins are rare enemies, the only notable ones are Jerme, Gecko, Jamil, and Porcus, and if you count the Master Ninjas, the only notable one is Kotaro, returning the Assassin Class can help Chad be a better assassin than most of the Assassins in the series, the only ones he might not surpass in the series, are Jaffar, and Matthew, and Astolfo a slightly better unit, and all around Cath Sucks, plus some of the characters were pretty shitty, Sophia, Gwendolyn, Treck, Cath, etc. and some of the characters had no personality, Roy is nowhere worse as Kris, and Corrin, having no personality, and shitty growth rates, But there were great units such as Lilina, Milady, Clarine, Percival, Raigh, Rutger, Dieck, it would be good to fix some of the bad characters' stats and the Child Units, by adding Blazing Sword in the Remake, putting in the Parent System, making Roy's growth rates better, Lilina easier to train, Wolt a better unit, etc. And I'm wondering what happened to Lyn, maybe she died, or maybe she disappeared, and who is she married to, Eliwood is less likely because Eliwood's supports and some evidence shows that he married Ninian, Lyn Marrying Kent on the other hand, not likely, but the only possible husbands for Lyn are Hector, and Rath, making her the mother of either Lilina or Sue, but unfortunately, if they reveal who Lyn's real husband is, then it will effect the entire fanbase, a flame war will begin, then again, they might have Lyn remain single, Lyn never made an appearance in Binding Blade, so we are unsure what happened to her during the events of Binding Blade, however there are other characters that appeared as playable characters in Binding Blade, those being Marcus, Bartre, and Karel, so why not bring back older characters like Matthew and Raven, I was glad they didn't remove the support system in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, supports show the characters their full personalities, but Zephiel is one of the most well written villains in the series. Weapon Forging. Weapon Forging is an iconic addition to Fire Emblem, it 1st appeared in Path of Radiance, then continued on in the later games, so it would be nice to have Weapon Forging, those who don't know about Weapon Forging, it is a thing where you upgrade weapons, having their strength, critical rate, and accuracy increased, if Intelligent Systems can, they can decrease some weapon weight, so that units with low constitution, and speed can wield heavier weapons, plus the Divine Weapons were breakable in Binding Blade, which was a load of bullshit, but if they make them unbreakable it will be better. Trial Maps. The Trial Maps were added after reaching a certain condition in completing Binding Blade, some of them even needs you to download them, but adding them as DLC can make the Trial Maps available right away, the old maps will not require you to pay for them, but adding in new maps will. That's all I have right now, what are your thoughts? If they manage to remake Binding Blade, then it would be known as Fire Emblem Echoes: Legends of Elibe, or something like that.
  7. Hey everyone, Kobazco (just call me Kobe tho) here, bringing you my first screenshot lp! I've always really liked reading these, but never had a good excuse to start one of my own. I'm gonna keep commentary and such basic I think though, I don't see much of a reason to do anything over the top. Somethings to establish about this run/lp. Yes, this is Shadows of Valentia randomized. I randomize above level 1 units via a save editor. I randomize level 1 units by reclassing them via cheats. All randomization choices are done via a list randomizer including all classes. Sadly, I can't use the arcanist/cantor class as much as I want to due to magic lists not working (units won't learn spells) Additionally, the only gender specific class that I will abide to is the Cleric, as male Clerics will not learn heal/nosferatu for the above reason. All villager characters will be randomized upon their class change from villager, as there is no villager equivalent to random to. To make things.... interesting, no mila gear is allowed and this is an ironman run. I assume if you're reading this, you've already seen/played SoV, so I'll be skipping all story elements. Without further ado, let's begin.
  8. I personally like Alm's route better. I just really hate Desert Maps, and Swamp Maps. And I just like Alm better. Plus keeping Celica's army alive is a pain.
  9. My favorites in the Fire Emblem series are. GBA: Elibe Saga. 2 Smash Characters: Telius Saga. 3DS: Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. (Finally playing it, and enjoying it so far.) Spinoff saga: Warriors. Past Titles: Genealogy of the Holy War.
  10. Does anyone else not like the voice acting in SoV? Maybe it's just me, but something turned me off about it. Honestly while playing the first time, I didn't like the game as a whole and I couldn't pinpoint why, but after second run with VA off, I really like it. And it's not like there was anything WRONG with the actual voice acting, more with the fact that EVERY SINGLE LINE is read to you and you just have to sit there and listen when you've already read what they're going to say, or just cut them off in the middle of their sentences and get weird sounds of "Alm, let's--I don't kno-- In that ca--Okay." I know this happens in many other games too but I always liked that Fire Emblem avoided it. To contrast, I love the lines that were voiced during dungeon exploration. I wish there had been more to that, maybe because you actually have something to do while they're talking at you. I dunno. Did anyone else feel this way? Am I just weird?
  11. I did this with 14, my least favourite game in the series, so now I'm doing it with my favourite, Gaiden/Echoes (2/15). (8 is also my favourite, I'm tied between the two, it's weird but I do this w/ Pokemon too) The biggest issue with 2/15 are the maps...but not all of them, just swamps. Swamp maps are the biggest problem 2/15 have. They don't have actual strategies, you just have to hope you can heal everyone in time before they get attacked and beaten by the swamp/attacker. It's nothing but a struggle and one that could have been easily avoided too. I get that it's a Famicom title, but like it could have done a lot better. Other than that, I don't have any issues with 2/15 minus Clair and Clive. They are terrible units, Clair can't do damage and Clive is Clive. They did get buffs in 15, which is nice, but so did everyone else and it just doesn't help either of them in the long run. Like why would you use Clive when you have Zeke and Matilda? The Whitewings may be with Celica but man they just outclass in every way. All in all though, 2/15 are still my favourites even with their flaws. The game has something all others don't and it's great.
  12. Someone did this for Awakening, and I did a thread like this for Fates, so I decided that now that the game's been out for a while, why not do it for SoV too? Everyday I'll make a poll, and everyone can vote on their favorite critical quote for each character. Day 1 is Alm. I'll record the results here for the winning quote of the poll each day. Results: Day 1 - Alm: This is how it's done! Day 2 - Celica: Grant me strength! Day 3 - Tobin: This is the part that hurts! Day 4 - Gray: It's been fun! Day 5 - Kliff: You watching? Day 6 - Lukas:
  13. Hey, Its been a long time, since I was active (not lurking in the shadows) and recently I had the urge to go and buy one of the 3DS FE titles. If you could kindly consult me about what game I should get, that would be nice. I know, many may not like them or even hate them, but I am still asking for (if possible) objective opinions, why I should or should not get game X. Meaning a reply like "Buy game X, cuz good waifu" is something I often see on non-Serenes Forest forums with unreasonable children. PS: If I seemed rude, then I apologize. But recently, I have encountered many kids in fandoms where I also lurk around with this kind of attitude, which increases my salt-level. PPS: If there are any mistakes, english is sadly not my native language.
  14. Need some players to do a beta test on my chapter 1 for ragefest echoes. Need as much data as possible as soon as possible. I am sad to say I have been playing Fire Emblem Heroes for too long and I can't trust my judgement in the testing phase at the moment. Have some images to make you curious What I am looking for: - This hack is suppose to be brutal, if you can't beat it please tell me why. - If you can beat it tell me how you did it and in how many turns. - Opinions and criticism on the overall difficulty and suggestions. - Names have not been edited so bear with it Patch is attached, please get back to me as soon as possible. Preferably before monday. Going to spend the rest of the day coding chapter 2. RFV Chapter 1 Demo.ups
  15. So, I'm new to the site... not at all new to the games. I've been playing since I was born. I started with 7 and have now made my way through the entire series except for Thracia 776 (for the love of God please link me a working patch). Okay, introductory note aside, I've been doing some thinking. Recently I was listening to Echoes's amazing soundtrack. When I reached the song 'Prince of Darkness', something hit me... So, we know that Fire Emblems 1/11, 2/Echoes, 3/12, 4, 5, and 13 are all part of the Archanea Timeline. So, certain demons and monsters such as both Loptyr and Duma exist in the same world. Julius was always referred to as the Dark Prince, while Berkut was referred to (through the soundtrack) as the Prince of Darkness. Let's also not forget that when Julius was killed in Genealogy, he morphed into a dragon before he finally bit the dust. So, and I mean to say this is just a thought, is it possible that Duma (having taken the form of a dragon before) is the same Loptyr that Jugdral came to fear? They even both utilize similar fighters on the final levels in their respective games: the Deadlords and the Duma Faithful. Along with that, we learn in Genealogy that Loptyr once ruled some sort of Dark Empire, sounding extremely similar to the land Duma was ruled with an iron fist. I'm not saying this has to be the truth, but please use your complete knowledge of the series and really get some good insight into the evidence that supports this. If anybody has some other evidence supporting it or something to put it down, please make a post. Seeya fellahs!
  16. I couldn’t find any lyrics so I decided to put matters into my own hands. Please do not take the Latin seriously at all. I listened for sounds by ear and put them in google translate to get some translation. (I have 0 Experience with the language) I may/will get some lyrics and translation wrong especially.- please tell me so I can fix it.. Especially the last part. I’ve listened to this song like almost a thousand times by now. Still not tired of it. (Also I'm quite new to posting on Serenes forest) And by the way, not all of the lyrics are Latin of course. They're in English. Te des sorrow [You give us sorrow] Because of our raged war Ve Des Voro [Nothing to eat] Because of our resource Wo es Volo [We want you] Because of our raged war Vo des Vota [Called to get wishes] Because of our sorrow (Union) De [Because of/down to the end of/from among] Te Des Sorrow [You give us sorrow] Because of the waged war Te des solo [I want you to give] Because of the people (Union) Teach me, teach me all they’ve done so- glory, will never stop or unite for us in our fate. We will not rest! We will survive! Even in the end- we will not flee! Please!…. Please!…Please!…-Please!.. Ve te [You’ve], already won and swung the teeth, so heaven won seit [Since] And we already won and sung the miracles to par [Match/equal] Te Des Sorrow [You give us sorrow] Because of Wo es volo [We want you] Because of (Union) The waged war Yes! We will not rest! We will survive! In cordis [In the heart]- we will not fret! We will not rest! We will survive! Duma protects us! (Repeat from beginning one more)
  17. Perhaps this isn't the right place to post, but I finally created an account because I can't stand the generic sprite for Echoes on the front page. I crossed the sprites of Alm's Falchion and Celica's Beloved Zophia -- hopefully an admin will take pity on my plight and use this or something other than the generic emblem.
  18. I'm looking for youtube channels dedicated to Fire Emblem, anyone have any suggestions? Heres a list of the ppl i'm already subscribed to Lucky Crit (news and strategy mainly echoes) Sagemaster15 (heroes meta and bad jokes) Phoenixmaster1 (heroes meta and strategy) princereyson (ROM hacking) ghast station (playthrough and lore) strategistmaster (heroes meta) mangs (playthroughs) blazingknight (top tens and discussion) unassuming venasaur (gay fates supports) Let me know what other fe youtube channels are out there, I hope this can also help anyone looking for good Fire Emblem content.
  19. Now that Shadows of Valentia has been released and has found success in Japan and all over the world, it seems like IS wants to continue the "Echoes" sub-series. For now it seems like they're leaning toward remaking Binding Blade but I can still hope that Genealogy of the Holy War will get a glorious and proper remake. Assuming that a Genealogy Echoes will be released, what kind of things do you want to see in it? I have a few ideas: Lots and lots of animated cut scenes. GotHW has the best story in FE so I would love to see as much of it developed as possible. Side-stories, flashbacks, all that good stuff. Breaks during the chapters. It not news to anyone that the maps are huge and have a lot of empty space, so breaking them up with cut scenes and a camp or something will make the maps less overwhelming. Add the possibility to get ALL holy weapons. Make it so Lex's kids can inherit Helswath and Azel's kids can get Valflame, etc. Return of the Turnwheel mechanic but obviously with some other lore-friendly gimmick More lovers(support) conversations for all the characters Bonus chapters for other scenarios like Ares retaking Agustria Excellent orchestrations of the OST and new music Fully voice acted(or mostly like SoV) Being able to pair Seliph and Julia without a glitch Adapt that sweet, sweet Eldigan arc from the Oosawa manga That's what I had in mind, anyone have other thoughts? Ideas? I want to know what other people expect for a game like this.
  20. I remember back when I first started lurking around SerenesForest, there was a thread where fans would discuss their opinions on various characters from Fire Emblem Fates. A successor thread was eventually made for Fire Emblem Awakening following the conclusion of the Fates one, and I remember keenly following both threads because of how interesting it was to hear other people's opinions on various characters. Now that Echoes has been out for almost three months now amongst the worldwide audience to the point most of us are familiar with the game's cast, I'd figure it'd be a good time to make a "Opinions on that Character" thread for Echoes similar to the Fates and Awakenings ones from the past. For those that participated in those threads linked above, you should already know how it works. For those that are new to a thread like this, it's simple: each day, I will randomly pick a major character from Fire Emblem Echoes and make a post in this thread asking fans to give their opinion on that character. When giving your answer, you can consider any aspects related to the character: personality, overall character, performance as a unit, stats, design, voice acting, etc. Below is a list that will be updated with various characters for each passing day: 08/12/17: #1: Alm #2: Celica 08/13/17: #3: Forsyth #4: Valbar 08/14/17 #5: Tatiana #6: Atlas 08/15/17 #7: Faye #8: Nomah #9: Berkut 08/16/17 #10: Luthier #11: Kamui #12: Irma 08/17/17: #13: Mycen #14: Boey #15: Rinea 08/18/17: #16: Delthea #17: Est #18: Halcyon 08/19/17: #19: Tobin #20: Conrad #21: Slayde 08/20/17: #22: Clair #23: Leon #24: Massena 08/21/17: #25: Mathilda #26: Genny #27: Fernand 08/22/17: #28: Zeke #29: Saber #30: Desaix 08/23/17: #31: Kliff #32: Palla #33: Grieth 08/24/17: #34: Python #35: Mae #36: Nuibaba 08/25/17: #37: Clive #38: Jesse #39: Rudolph 08/26/17: #40: Lukas #41: Catria #42: Jedah 08/27/17: #43: Silque #44: Deen #45: Mila 08/28/17: #46: Gray #47: Sonya #48: Duma 08/29/17: #49: Randal #50: Emma #51: Shade #52: Yuzu I'll be posting the next updates to this thread between 8:00-9:00 PM CST each day, so be sure to come back and check around the given time frame to give your opinion on the next batch of characters. For these first few days, I will present two playable units to give opinions on. After a short while, I will be presenting three characters to give opinions on: two playable units (one from Alm's army, the other from Celica's army) and one major antagonist/major NPC. The choices for these playable units plus major enemy units and NPCs come from SerenesForest's Pre-release Character poll.
  21. A friend of mine runs a podcast called Monkey Broadcast. It's latest episode features a spoiler free review of Echoes, so be sure to check it out at your leisure as any he would appreciate support or feedback you could give him. At 1:02:10 his co-host, SvenTheCrusader, starts a discussion on the Dungeons and Dragons based web series Critical Role, run by Matt Mercer, the voice of Chrom, and starring other FE VAs such as Laura Bailey, Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham and Liam O'Brien:
  22. So, with the dialouge ending the most recent Tempest Trials, there's been some speculation that the dialouge implies the next Tempest will be Echoes-based once again, with Celica as the protagonist instead of Alm this time. What do y'all think?
  23. As title. I want to experiment with some of these spell lists, like may's cleric list, but I don't want to lose her mage spells. Does anyone know if I will lose these if I'm still in a magic- using class? I don't want to waste my pitchforks just to find out.
  24. I finished my first playthrough of echoes a while ago, and I'm working on my second file. I wanted to complete all the side quests in this run, but I think I may have messed up the eerie hermit's quest. I know you need to have the gossamer hair in your inventory when you talk to him the second time, but I gave my gossamer hair to Celica. I then proceeded to give the hair to the fisherman who can catch a dagon for you (which is needed for another quest). I'm worried about having a second chance to get the gossamer hair, are there any?
  25. So after beating the game and viewing the last memory prism, I have a question. Did mila and duma come to valentia from archanea or through the dragon gate?
