  1. I'm planning on running Kanna, Kamui, Flora, Midoriko and Kaze. Post your ideas for a team if you aren't trying to keep your tactics a secret.
  2. So I've unlocked most of the paralogues for the kids and I've got a couple questions 1. is it best to just do all the paralogues near the end of the game so that the child seal is more effective 2. are there any particularly hard or easy paralogues 3. is there a particular worth in doing certain paralogues first (i.e this kid will be gr8 no matter what or the loot on the map is useful) sorry if this is already a thread
  3. Due to the later release of Fates in Australia, I am unable to attain a physical copy without going through extensive means and while I patiently wait for May 20th, I have looked at classes, their caps and also skills. I stumbled upon the skill list on this sight and found a few skills I like the look of such as proximity shot/point blank or freeze/immobilise. For those of you who are lucky enough to own the game, are these skills available to the main character?
  4. Just a thread where we can discuss things that maybe didn't make the cut in the final game in Fates, or other interesting facts and trivia which aren't exactly well known. I got this idea after watching one of BigKlingy's videos and hearing that apparently Kagerou was planned to be Hoshidan royalty, interesting...
  5. So here is a topic that's been on my mind and I want to see what you all think about it. We all know that Fire Emblem got its start on home consoles but its popularity and survival can be credited to its handheld market by far. However, even though I think the series is secure for the foreseeable future with the successes of Awakening and Fates will it remain on the handheld? A couple of years back in 2005-2008 I might have said hell yes. But with the increase in smart phone technology and popularity I don't see another dedicated handheld gaming console in Nintendo's future. At least not in the traditional sense. Lets be totally honest about something for a minute. Nintendo is lucky enough this generation the 3DS sold as well as it did and had a hard enough time as is in the beginning. Now smart phones are more prominent than ever and have a huge share of that market. In short, it doesn't make very much economic sense and its highly risky for Nintendo to release a dedicated mobile gaming console in today's market. This seems so much the case that there is speculation that Nintendo's next system the NX will be a hybrid of sorts with games that could be mutually exclusive or have some sort of incompatibility. I do enjoy the console Fire Emblems and they are hands down still my favorite games but they also didn't perform well sales wise and nearly tanked the series. While the series is in a far better position than what it was I think its easy to say Fire Emblem is fundamentally a title that suits handhelds better. But like I said with smart phones as popular as they are now how feasible is this? With the speculation that is the NX I guess we will have to wait and see...
  6. As you may know, Nintendo Announced a popularity poll in October for site visitors to vote for their favorite male and female characters in Fire Emblem If. Now that fans all over the world got a general feel for the localized version fire emblem fates I want to recreate Nintendo japanese poll making the first ever Official Post-Release Fire Emblem Fates Popularity Poll *(Localized Ver.) Japanese Results https://www.nintendo.co.jp/fe/if_bk/questionary/index.html
  7. Now that Fates is out what Version/Versions did you decide to get. (Birthright, Conquest, Revelation)
  8. Hey ya'll, I'm really struggling with making some decisions regarding some pairings in my Conquest campaign and I was hoping I could get some advice and opinions. So far, what I think I'm going with is: -MC/Felicia (or Ophelia or Velouria, depending on their parents) -Jakob/Camilla, or Jakob/Nyx (I really want a Dwyer who can potentially do mage stuff, just can't decide between these two) -Xander/Selena (I was told Xander/Charlotte makes a much better Siegbert?) -Benny/Beruka -Leo/Felicia or Leo/Nyx? (Can't decide who to pair Nyx with, Jakob or Leo) -Odin/Elise -Effie/Arthur -Keaton/Camilla or Keaton/Charlotte? (was told Keaton pairs well with Camilla. Originally planned on doing Keaton/Charlotte but if Xander pairs with Charlotte instead of Selena I can't really pull that off) -Kaze/Azura (Dat speed doe. Not sure if this is a waste of Azura?) I'm really tearing my hair out about this, if you guys could give me suggestions and stuff I'd really appreciate it because I'm apparently too finicky about it to make definitive choices this time around. Biggest things to keep in mind are: -Not sure who I wanna pair MC wiht yet -Dwyer is my favorite kid character and really wanna make him one of the DLC classes later, so I'm really wanting to make sure he ends up with the potential for good Mag stats. Thanks in advance to anyone with opinions!
  9. Okay, I finished Birthright and Conquest, and now I'm starting a playthrough of Revelations. I didn't get a lot of units married in my playthrough of Conquest, but in Birthright, Azura married Kaden. Shigure was pretty great, but Azura turned Selkie from tanky to trashy. I'm wondering which child wouldn't get completely ruined by Azura's terrible HP and Defense growths for this playthrough. Right now I'm thinking her and Hayato might work, but I'm really not sure, since Rhajat was a decent Res-Tank for me in Birthright.
  10. For Fates, I currently have 83:27 on my Activity Log, which is quite a lot for a mere seven times played. The average play time I have is about eleven hours-which is more than double the second place software's average time. Personally, I probably could have done more if it weren't for my job and it's rather ridiculous scheduling times, although I did manage to beat Birthright in the first week, at least. What about you guys? How much have you played Fates this past week?
  11. So, at the endgame, do the enemy reinforcements stop at any point that I could just try to hold out until? I'm playing on Hard, and I was quickly overwhelmed long before I got anywhere close to Takumi.
  12. Hi guys, so I just wanted to ask about how buying skills in Fates works. I get the general concept and stuff but I wanted to know what skills can I buy. From what I've heard you can buy skills as long as that unit has access to that class. So what if for example I have Hana and I screwed up her A+ support and chose Sakura over Felicia. Since Hana's Heart Seal is Shrine Maiden it is pointless to choose Sakura right. Now my main question is since Hana can gain access to Felicia's Troubadour class if she A+ support her then can I buy skills from a Hana that has skills from the Troubadour class tree? I apologize if what I am saying is confusing to you but I am just as confused as you guys with this whole skill buying thing LOL.
  13. While I'm not the biggest fan of a 2nd generation outside of FE4, I do think the Gen 2 kids were handled really well in terms of game mechanics, they are given "Inheritance Seals" which auto level them to a certain point depending on where you are in the game, these also grant them fairly good weapon ranks as well, which in this game is a godsend because of how slowly weapon ranks advance. Although I think if you grab the kids early they don't reap these benefits because of how it scales. The characters themselves are innocent enough, some make me laugh, some smile, others i'm eh on, but in terms of gameplay I think this was handled really well.
  14. So I was bored at work today and after hearing a conversation about Zodiac signs and match up compatibility since it was Valentines Day, it reminded me that the Fates characters actually have official birthdays and fall under particular signs that may or may not reflect their nature. Being pretty curious, I pulled together all the characters and birthdays to find out what sign they are. Since I haven't played the game and thankfully haven't spoiled everything for myself yet or read too many supports, I have no idea how accurate they are to their signs, but I figured it'd be a fun thing to see if you are astrologically compatible with your spouse, friend, child, sibling, etc. while waiting for release. And it doesn't just have to be your Corrin and someone else either; you could also try seeing if any other pairs you made in game are compatible/accurate too. And I found some additional info for a general description of the sign for those unfamiliar with it, which you can find on most Zodiac compatibility sites. Generally, these seem to be the ideal combinations: Aries: March 21st - April 19th Taurus: April 20th - May 20th Characters: Niles (April 22nd), Yukimura (April 28th), Ryoma (May 1st), Charlotte (May 4th), Hinata (May 10th), Midori (May 17th), Setsuna (May 20th) Gemini: May 21st - June 20th Characters: Mitama (June 26th), Leo (June 30th), Kisaragi (July 4th), Caeldori (July 6th), Kaden (July 12th), Odin (July 15th), Sophie (July 21st) Leo: July 23rd - August 22nd Characters: Soleil (August 31st), Percy (September 5th), Azama (September 8th), Ophelia (September 15th), Hayato (September 19th) Libra: September 23rd - October 22nd Characters: Hisame (September 27th), Saizou (October 2nd), Kaze (October 2nd), Mozu (October 6th), Velouria (October 11th), Selkie (October 20th) Scorpio: October 23rd - November 21st Characters: Oboro (November 28th), Camilla (November 30th), Jakob (December 3rd), Takumi (December 14th), Shura (December 21st) Capricorn: December 22nd - January 19th Characters: Peri (December 24th), Izana (December 29th), Asugi (January 1st), Fuuga (January 8th) Aquarius: January 20th - February 18th Characters: Selena (January 21st), Arthur (January 24th), Nina (January 31st), Rinkah (February 5th), Subaki (February 7th), Nyx (February 17th) Pisces: February 19th - March 20th Characters: Flora (February 19th), Felicia (February 19th), Beruka (February 26th), Azura (March 3rd), Forrest (March 13th), Elise (March 19th) So, did anyone match perfectly or terribly? Either way, I hope this diverted you for a while as we try to get through the long week before we finally get Fates~! ...yeah, I promise I'll think again next time before I make stupid threads at the wee hours of the morning...XP
  15. List or post pictures of Accessories found in Fates (localized or not)
  16. How do I get Nina? Do I have to do something special? Do I have to fight her? I ask because the objective's meaning eludes me. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
  17. The title. haven't seen a topic for this yet and figured it'd be cool to have one thread instead of a bunch of threads. (if there is one sorry for obtuseness) I'm guessing you have to add friend codes to play with friends so lets play with each other. Post your FC here if you want and i'll add it to the this google doc list SF friend code list for fates https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qrxkyauXlGLMXbpNC6s9-3LqTwDWDD-3F-bkmarUfak/edit i've only played one battle so far with just corrin and felicia but hope to improve my team as the game progresses.
  18. I saw something like this in reddit so I thought maybe I can ask here to and see what you guy's favorite little details in this game were. It can be anything from any route but if it's spoiler-ish just mark it as one. I like the fact that if you give the Laslow, Odin or Severa an accessory from Lucina like the Butterfly Mask, they respond differently. I thought it was a nice touch actually. I also read that you can actually see Leo's cape being worn inside out if you look close enough. I actually thought they might did it but I fail to see it at first so maybe I can stare at it again when I start a new file. So, what about you guys?
  19. Hi everyone! I've treaded on Serene's Forest for a long time, but I just recently made an account and will now make my first post! I need help with my Birthright pairings, I have confidence in some, while others I feel are just leftover characters matched together. Any type of criticism is welcome, as long as it is justified. So let's cut to the chase: MU(Male)xScarlet SakuraxHayato RyomaxKagerou AzuraxKaden SilasxHinoka TakumixOboro (this is where I have low confidence) JakobxOrochi SetsunaxHinata AzamaxHana SaizoxMozu Any and all help is greatly appreciated, and if you took time to look at this and critique it, thank you in advance!
  20. So, pretty much everyone had characters that they thought they liked or thought they'd use, or knew which characters were good and which were bad, but actually playing the game is a completely different story. So, did any characters surprise you, either gameplay-wise or even just personality-wise? For me, it was definitely Benny. Pre-English release, I remember people going on about how Generals were bad and that Effie was so good that there was no reason to use Benoit ever, but the guy's an absolute beast. His defence is so overkill high that even after being Defence Sealed, he still only gets hit for sub-10 damage, and his pair up bonuses are godly to boot. I paired him up with Dread Fighter Selena and they legitimately solo half of maps while the rest of my army takes care of the rest. Special mention goes to Ophelia because I was kind of ambivalent about her until I heard her voice and the fact that she's so softspoken while trying to shout ridiculous things just won me over immediately.
  21. Using a NA 3ds copy of FE Fates can I play with someone with a Japanese copy of fates.
  22. Is there any skill that allows Archers to attack at 1 distance? I remember seeing a video saying something about it. If you know anything, tell me please. Thank you
  23. So, I have a question. If i buy DLC for one game, will it automatically go to the other? Does it have to be the physical copy, or just digital? Or can it be both? So many questions! I need answers!
  24. I don't have very much information about how WiFi Battle works. But do you guys think that after the game is released in Europe, WiFi Battle Tournaments could be possible? I was thinking that it would just be a fun thing to do and I also have no idea how stupid this idea most likely sounds. Leave your thoughts on if you guys think if is a fun/good/possible idea.
  25. So where do I begin with this story? Well I pre-ordered a special edition of Fire Emblem Fates on November 12th and even recently (on January 31st) verified with a Best Buy representative that the order was good to go. Only to find out today that it got delayed indefinitely and they could not process my order. Aka they overestimated their stock and despite me paying and ordering I'm not getting the special edition because of yet another epic Best Buy screw up. The best part is when I tried to change the shipping option they couldn't process my payment in spite of having a perfectly healthy bank account and what have you. So I was given the option to revise the payment option in 24 hours and risk it being indefinitely delayed again or they would cancel my order. So I said screw it. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund and I bought a physical version of both games (so I have some nice boxart anyway and six save files not as great as nine but beggers can't be choosers). I know I could have just gotten the second at a discounted price but being the FE fan/game collector I'am I like having physical copies. Also for anyone else wondering or in a similar situation whatever DLC you buy through Dragon's Gate (I downloaded the 1st map pack to verify) on one version DOES work on the other physical version of the game without having to pay for it a second time. For example, if you pay for and download DLC for your physical Nohr cart you DO NOT have to pay for it again to be able to play it on your physical Hoshido cart. So that is a major silver lining and I'm glad Nintendo thought of this. The only downsides are that if you want to play Revelations you have to pay for it and wait until March 10th or whenever its being released. However, given that dragon's gate DLC works on both physical versions once you pay for it once I would hope the same would be said for the third path although I might have to stick with it being playable on one cart since its being treated as a separate game in itself (which sucks because of the three save file limit per cart) Oh and if you want to play another side's story you have to switch carts but I guess that's a given. Either way bad experience I'm not pre-ordering through Best Buy again. If I can bum a copy of the art book I might but I won't hold my breath. I hope no else has this unfortunate run in of events but in case you do and have questions about having two physical carts and dlc and so on feel free to ask even though there's only one pack out right now.
