  1. Found something really interesting on tumblr. They're placed next to each other since they happen to be opposites. Stefan is the odd one out. Not surprising, virtually everything in Tellius is done in opposing pairs, giving the overarching themes of Order vs. Chaos. Apparently, the OP on tumblr was doing all the myrmidons/swordies pre-FE13/14. Amusing, because only a few weeks ago I was drawing up possible star signs for the Tellius crew. I don't know how accurate it is but here's my list. Fire signs: Aries/Leo/Saggitarius Water signs: Pisces/Cancer/Scorpio Earth signs: Taurus/Virgo/Capricorn Air signs: Aquarius/Gemini/Libra Elincia - Pisces Lucia - Virgo/Earth Geoffrey - Cancer Bastian - Gemini/Wind Kieran - Aries Nephenee - Virgo Brom - Cancer Heather - Libra Calill - Leo Ike - Taurus/Aries ( Earth ) Mist - Pisces/Water Titania - Cancer Soren - Capricorn Boyd - Aries/Fire Oscar - Virgo/Earth Rhys - Aquarius Shinon - Leo Gatrie - Libra Mia - Aries/Fire Tanith - Capricorn/Earth Largo - Gemini Sigrun - Pisces/Water Micaiah - Cancer Sothe - Micaiah Nolan - Capricorn/Earth Edward - Saggitarius Leonardo - Aquarius Zihark - Cancer Ilyana - Food Meg: Saggitarius Fiona: Capricorn/Earth Stefan - Aquarius In some instances, the character's affinity will correspond with the affinity of their star sign. Feel free to also use this thread to discuss and speculate what you think we'll see (or what you would like to see) in the new series.
  3. Figured I might as well make a dedicated thread to this playthrough if I am going to continue: [spoiler=Turncounts]Chapter 1-P (4 turns) Chapter 1-1 (3 turns) Chapter 1-2 (3 turns) Chapter 1-3 (3 turns) Chapter 1-4 (2 turns) Chapter 1-5 (6 turns) Chapter 1-6-1 (2 turns) Chapter 1-6-2 (2 turns) Chapter 1-7 (4 turns) Chapter 1-8 (2 turns) Chapter 1-9 (3 turns) Here is the prologue video: I should note that I redid the end of the prologue to get Micaiah an HP proc to help her survive the next chapter. Chapter 1-1 has been recorded, and will be available as soon as YouTube processes it (probably a couple of hours since I figured out how to record in HD).
  4. Enjoy! Recorded with Dolphin, and no transfers.
  5. PAL or US? Or do they work for both? PAL is generally considered the better version right? Also, why are there no PoR modules? It's rather odd that FE10 has modules but not FE9.
  6. Five years ago, the continent of Tellius was engulfed in a brutal war. King Ashnard of the Daein kingdom ordered an attack on the neighboring nation Crimea. The attack was swift, deadly, and unprovoked. After about a year of bloodshed, Ashnard was slain, bringing his reign of terror to an end. This war is known as the Mad King's War. It appeared that the mad king had left no heirs, but a noblewoman stepped forward with the claim that her daughter had been sired by him. The people had no choice but to believe her and allow young Nyra to take the throne. All the nations of Tellius were now free to rebuild and move forward. But, sometimes what was once broken, will never be completely fixed... Feedback Thread Prologue: A Surprise Successor August 27, 645 Nevassa, Daein A mighty roan stallion with a young woman on his back galloped through the street. If one were to get close enough, they would be able to see the determination and anger in the lady’s eyes. A steel sword was strapped to her back. She was pursuing a group of cavalry, they were all clothed in blood red armor, while her own armor was jet black. Daein had lost the war. King Ashnard was dead, and he hadn’t married or produced any heirs. Of course, the new Crimean queen wasn’t going to be in charge of both countries. Begnion controlled more land than anyone else, so why not add more to their empire? Nyra knew she had no right to argue. She was just a lowly soldier. General Petrine had always said she had the potential to be much more, but she, too, was now dead. And Begnion wouldn’t care anyway. But Nyra, being the hothead she was, wasn’t going to take this without a fight. She was going to show those red clad snobs who they were dealing with. And they would either kill her or throw her in jail for the rest of her life, but she didn’t care. She pulled back on the horse’s reins, causing him to skid to a stop, neigh, and rear. The Begnion cavalry appeared to be reporting to the halberdier ahead of them: an average sized man with dark purple hair. His armor was the distinctive red, with an olive green scarf. And he had an air of authority about him. No doubt about it, this was who the apostle had put in charge. One of the soldiers turned and spoke to the halberdier. “General Jarod, there’s a Daein cavalier here.” “I thought we told all of them to stay away while we get the paperwork settled.” Jarod huffed. “Go away. The war’s over. You lost.” Nyra stared at him, anger burning in her eyes. He smirked. “Such a fierce look for a little recruit!” “I’ll have you know that I am NOT a recruit. I was trained by, and served under, Petrine of the Four Riders.” “Ah, Petrine...she was a fiery one. But the key word is was. Go home, lass. We can’t have any Daein stragglers hanging around. Even if you did know that witch of a woman.” “Is that fancy lance just for show? It looks brand new. Did the apostle take a pampered noble, put him in armor, and call him general?” Nyra taunted. “I will not go home. If you want me to, you’ll have to force me.” Several Begnion soldiers raised their weapons. Jarod gave them the “stand down” gesture. “I will deal with this myself.” He grabbed his lance and gave it a twirl. “Try me!” The crowd scattered. Nyra brought her horse into a charge, blade drawn, as Jarod stood his ground. The steel sword clanged against the steel greatlance. The Begnion soldiers were rooting for their general, as was expected. Nyra managed to spot some Daein townspeople out of the corner of her eye. Most looked like they were just wondering what was going on, but she thought a few of them appeared to be impressed with her. As they should. Nobody else had the gumption to stand up to Begnion. This Jarod guy...who was he? She had never heard of him, and he had looked like he hadn’t seen much actual combat until she actually saw him fight. That jumping skill was unreal. He had to be clearing twice her height! And with a heavy weapon that should weigh him down! As impressive as it was, he was still her enemy. She concentrated on attempting to block his blows while slashing at him with her sword. “NYRA!” The familiar voice came from the group of townspeople. In one swift movement, Nyra stabbed Jarod in the shoulder, had her horse trample him to the ground, and turned. The crowd parted to let her mother through. Her mother, a frail skinny thing, had a piece of paper in her hands and was glaring at the scene in front of her. Behind her was an ancient looking woman who Nyra had never seen before, and a man she recognized as Lukall, a Daein noble. “Everyone, your attention please!” Lukall announced. “There’s been a recent development! Or a twenty-eight year old development, depending on how you look at it.” Nyra blinked. She was twenty-eight... Lukall proceeded to walk forward and look at Jarod, who was collapsed on the ground with several wounds. “He’s just out cold.” He said to the two women with him. “He won’t be able to protest now, but he will if we’re not quick enough. Lady Jaclyn, bring me the document.” Nyra’s mother handed the paper to Lukall. He turned to Nyra, and she reached for it. Lukall pulled it away. “Not so fast. The information in this document...will come as a shock to you. Fair warning.” Then he allowed Nyra to take it and unfold it. The paper was a birth certificate. Under name, in slightly faded writing, was Nyra Terricks Daein. That was a bit odd, Nyra’s mother was a noblewoman, but usually only royals had a second surname that they shared with their country. Place of birth was Nevassa, gender was female...under father, written in the same faded script, yet clear as day, was Ashnard Terricks Daein. “Breathe, girl!” Lukall waved a hand in front of Nyra’s face. At the same moment, Jarod coughed behind her and attempted to get up. Nyra whipped around and plunged her sword into his forehead. His eyes glazed over, and his final breath was a faint sputter. The old woman and Nyra’s mother both had the same blank expressions. She turned to them. “...But you always told me my father had died before I was born...how...” “Oh, is that what she told you?” The old woman hobbled forward. “...Pardon me, you don’t know me. My name is Melina. I delivered you...you can see my signature here.” She pointed at the bottom of the document, where the parents’ and midwife’s signatures went. The line for the father’s signature was blank. There was still quite the crowd gathered. Lukall took the birth certificate and held it in the air. “Citizens of Daein, we have a successor! I give you Queen Nyra!” A few of the Begnion soldiers, and even some of the Daein townspeople, had to look at the birth certificate with their own eyes to believe it. One Begnion soldier bowed his head to Nyra. “We will return to Begnion at once, Your Majesty. General Jarod will be laid to rest in his own homeland...”
  7. When I hate one thing... then impossible recruitments and unindebted Game Overs. The most popular case for me is Fiona's recruitment in FE10 on hard mode. There's a myrmidon, who has a 5% critchance to her. Since he doubles her, one crit would be enough to kill her. It happens to me almost in each second playthrough. It's not to possible to prevent this situation because you can't beat 1-6-2 within 2 turns without Tauroneo. Luckbased recruitments and Game Overs for doing absolutely nothing wrong are a NO-GO for me.
  8. Hi all, I wanted to ask if anyone can explain to me how to find the addresses corresponding to the weapons in dolphin debug mode? Like if you want to change the might or hit rate of the slim sword in general. I already know how to calculate the offset values to change character stats, how to add items to the character, add skills. But as for editing weapons, I have no idea how to find the addresses in debug mode to calculate the offset for items. I hope someone can help me with this and explain it to me. Thanks in advance
  9. Hope this isn't a topic already. Out of all the games I think hands down that Tellius had the best character design. The armor looked practical yet unique to each character and they were all distinguishable. I also can't put my finger on it but the designs for each character just seemed right. So which character designs from this saga were your favorites? I like Ike's Lord design from FE9 the color scheme of olive green with the blue cape just looks good and goes with him really well. I like his base Hero design as well and think it suits him but I'll always like the color scheme of the Lord get up. Titania is another design I liked aside from being an overall pretty character the cloth under the armor matches real well with the hair while the armor looks like what you would expect of an elite Paladin. Greil/Gawain is another design I liked as well simple clothing and armor resembling Hero Ike. Fits the part of an aged legendary warrior. Black Knight. Pretty much the Darth Vader of the series in my opinion. Down right menacing and terrifying and gives the feeling of being one of the four apocalyptic horsemen. Sigrun and Nephenee. Like the hair color and armor choice for both of these and the way the helmet covers their eye is pretty nice too. Nailah. Unique one of a kind character cool markings along her body and that eyepatch is killer. I could go on and on and there's many more I like as well and this is just scraping the surface.
  10. Hey guys, There's going to be a charity speedrunning marathon coming up next week called the RPG Limit Break. In the past two years, it was initially called Crystals 4 Life, and initially was a speedrunning marathon for Final Fantasy games, but it's expanded to include other games from the RPG/strategy genre. For this year, the RPG Limit Break is raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the marathon is opening with me running Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (No pressure at all!) The marathon itself will be May 12-16 in Salt Lake City. It'll be livestreamed on http://www.twitch.tv/rpglimitbreak (I recommend going to that link for more information about the marathon, including the schedule itself). My run will be on noon MST on May 12th. I'll be speedrunning any% easy mode, with PoR transfers. It's the same category as the (awesome) run gwimpage did for Awesome Games Done Quick 2015, with a few updated strats (including the fast enemy phase trick dondon found, saving a crapton of time!) and a different donation incentive. Since it's not in a bid war against path of radiance, I offered an incentive to save or kill the waifus units, since Astrid+Ilyana+Marcia are killed off in chapter 3-E to save about one minute. So you should all donate to kill them off and save me a minute ;) The current record is at 2:37:35 held by me which can definitely be improved (I'm hoping to improve it on my stream this week) but it's not too bad of a run at the moment. I honestly want to put this game down after the marathon run and getting a 2:36 (maybe a 2:35), then go to learning Path of Radiance but learning PoR isn't going to be for a while :P Anyways, it'd be great if you guys spread the word about the marathon as a whole. I'm really looking forward to flying over to Utah next week, though also very nervous about running FE10 :P Also, if you have any suggestions for anything fun we can do, commentary-related, feel free to share them as well since I'm trying to come up with some fun things. Obviously I'll play out the Ike vs. Black Knight fight scene, I might also get someone to read out the silly death comments of the dawn brigade while Haar/Titania kill them off in chapter 3-E...
  11. To be honest I like the DB chapters the most, because they're the only real challenge in this game. The enemies are tough unlike in Elincia's and Ike's party. In part 1 the enemies are at least same level (probably even higher level) as the DB members. In part 3 the enemies are higher level and the laguz have a massive attack power so these chapters claim good tactical play from you. You have to play very carefully. If you to play too aggressive, the laguz will tear you apart. I really like this challenge, the best kind of difficulty for me.
  12. So, this was brought up in the "Who is Ike's wife" thread, and now that I have my answer from Clipsy, it can start! But first, a couple of rules/guidelines. Adhere to all established characterization, be it from FE9/10. If you believe that there is a severe breach in characterization in anyone's work, be sure to point it out to both the writer and myself. I'll ask for a few opinions on it, and if it's deemed too OOC, I'll remove it from the index and the pair is once again anyone's game. Do note, however, that adding to an established character is fine, so long as there are no contradicting traits. So we can't have a suddenly cynical Mist, but she can mention things about the past that severely affected her. Though FE10 was originally going to have just A rank supports be full length, I'm going to permit B/C simply because they allow more character building. However, the GBA limit of five conversations is in full effect, so other As do not have to be acknowledged, but keep in mind the character may have an A when writing a B/C. Claiming pairs is allowed, for now. If this gets too uncivil, this rule, and all claimed pairs, are revoked. I will keep a log of claims in the OP. If you have a support for an unclaimed pair written, feel free to post it. Double Posting is allowed, if it is to post a new support. I'm going to DP after the OP in case I hit the link limit for the index Focus on the FE10 list of beta pairs, first. Once those begin running dry, you can do other random pairs. Claims Index
  13. So apparently, out of nowhere, Nintendo decided to reprint FE10 in the US and is currently being sold through various sellers on eBay like this one. Source: Chris Kohler's Twitter. (The game's box now has a 2014 Copyright). Considering this game was going for over a hundred a few months ago, this is probably the best bet for those who missed it.
  14. Didn't see a thread for this. OUT OF NOWHERE: http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00RDPT8QM/00-00-11-11-22/ref=nosim/ http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00RDPT8S0/00-00-11-11-22/ref=nosim/ Damn. I need to find a way to import. PoR OST is 64 tracks, 260 minutes. 12 pages booklet. RD OST is 85 tracks, 260 minutes, 12 pages booklet.
  15. So I kind of want to make a hack for FE10 that removes all CEXP and instead just gives out a lot of BEXP. I'm not really much of a hacker though and I just wanted to see if I could make something simple. So if anyone here knows how to modify CEXP rates in this game, that would be cool. Really, I'm just looking to set CEXP to 0 in all cases or just 1 if the game doesn't allow CEXP smaller than 1. I imagine the formula is probably hiding somewhere in compiled code so I'm not really sure what to look for. Any ideas? I think I remember seeing a post here where someone mentioned changing EXP rates for different classes but that was for one of the GBA games.
  16. Hi, guys. I have been inactive for a while, but I would like to introduce you to my fan-game that is being made in RPGMaker VX. It's a little different from the usual Fire Emblem game, but still incorporates the usual roster of characters, skill selection, battles requiring some form of logical thought etc. I'm quite well known in the RM community ( having being around for the better part of 5+ years with two completed games under my belt and a 3rd on the way ) but I figured it would make sense to introduce a fan project on a fan-site first. =) This is an off-shoot from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and takes place towards the end of the game. I've stripped the story down to its bare minimum ( actually, everything can be summed up in the intro ) and will focus on the battles that take place inside the Tower of Guidance. No character serves as a central role. In here, pretty much any character can finish off Ashera. Features - - Features mouse support and zero maps. - Tag-Team battling. It's your duo against extremely powerful Order enemies. - Does not features the traditional 'grid-based, chess-like' approach. Instead, the usual turn-based nature of the JRPG is used. - One wrong move can spell defeat for your entire party. Careful thinking is required, especially on Hard/Lunatic mode. - 15 characters ( since its only in demo mode ), but I do plan to add more. - Every unit and enemy is at level 60. All units were raised before the start of the game with their best growth-rate set. In the case of the PoR characters, those growths have been merged with their RD growths. So Elincia has a 65% Str and 80% Mag growth. XD Still a Glass Cannon, though. - A large array of weapons and skills to get the upper-hand over your foes. - Four game difficulties ( can be changed at any point, so you can go from Easy to Lunatic in an instant ). Screenshots: Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5s3MEgm2lk Character selection scene. lol, there's no-one from Part IV yet. Stupid paladins... I should have got rid of them first. It took me 17 minutes to clear all five waves.
  17. After I had read some comparisons between Jill and Haar in different threads, I deliberated to start an own thread. Many people say that Haar is the best character in FE10. He's even banned in drafts. Imo Jill is overshadowed by Haar. Haar is only better in early game because of his excellent base strangth and defense. Jill is weakly and fragile, when she joins the Liberation Army. Her base strength is very low, so you have to invest in a forged iron axe and maybe an energydrop, if you want to train her. Though the investment will pay off! Her growths are great. She has great speed, luck and decent strength and resistance growth. However her defense growth is her only oneweakness for being a wyvernrider, but bexp. can fix it. And her caps are insane. She can reach 36 defense (only 2 less than Haar) and 35 speed, which means that she can double pretty much everything in the endgame except for a few swordmasters in E-2. I love using both, but Jill becomes to be more useful in the endgame especially because of her higher speed cap and the fact she's better in dodging.
  18. I'm playing on hard mode again and have finshed 3-10. In the base before 3-11 you have the Greil's Mecenaries and Crimean Knights together, so you have access to the "paragon" and the "blossom" skill. I actually have never thaught about this skill combination. The main problem is that the units except for the Laguz have not enough capacity to get both skills. So you can give the blossom skill only to a character, who has a "free" paragon skill. Geoffrey leaves the party till 4-5, so the only one contendor for this combination would be Astrid. Seriously I never have trained her, because her growths are pretty bad. So much more I think, it could work with this skill combiation. My aim would be to give Astrid many great level ups as possible, so she can cap maybe some stats in level 11-13 (guessed). I would promote her with the mastercrown early as possible. I also know that the blossom skill does not always guarantee great level ups. Has someone had good or bad experiences with my idea?
  19. so i have been always wanting to play fe 9 and fe 10 but i hear fe 9 is very easy, i don't want a game that will put me to sleep. however i am worried about not being able to understand anything about the radiant saga. can you help me. and if you DO want me to play fe 9 first tell me about how diffcult it is on hardest NA mode. also give reasons if you do want me to play fe 9 before fe 10 or if it os okay to play fe 10 before fe 9
  20. So, most other games in the series have either natural difficulty (FE12 and FE13) or they have increased difficulty hacks, but AFAIK there is nothing like that for either of these games (at least there is nothing that I can run on my unmodified consoles). Anyway, I'm starting to think about my next challenge run, and I've considered the possibility of doing something with FE10. It's by far my favorite game in the series. The problem? Even on HM it is too EASY. Any suggestions on how I can make it challenging around the level of FE12 0% growths (not something I've done, just something else I've considered) or FE13 Lunatic+ no grind (my current challenge run)? Unfortunately, I can't hack this game so it is gonna have to be something that is naturally possible. I've also considered trying something with FE9 instead. I don't have anything specific in mind here either, but I AM able to hack this game at least as much as is possible with a hard copy and an Action Replay. Among the tricks in that arsenal is a code that lets me control any of the characters that show up in the game (no matter if they are neutral, enemy, or just show up on the sidelines for a few turns). I've used this to get people like Sanaki and other super secret characters in the past but this usually corrupted the save file within a few minutes of my getting them, so I am probably restricted to people who are on the battlefield or at least have data in the game. I'm thinking about an all enemy units run but I don't know how that would go since bexp would probably trivialize those even. Havetti solo ftw Anyway, I am open to suggestions on any way to help make these games challenging, be they legitimate or not (except, again, no FE10 hacking for me). I would like to make them as difficult as possible while still being doable, but not tedious either (I mean, sure FE13 is tedious but that's not really what I mean, a better example of something tedious would be say a Rolf solo because that, while doable, would get boring fast and would not require strategy or have any real purpose).
