  1. Hiya! I'm Zane. You might know me from my FE5 Menu Translation. Although work on the menu translation has essentially ceased, I've been steadily working on a project that uses it as its base. So, I'd like to introduce Emblem Chronicle VII (henceforth called ECVII): ECVII is essentially a demake of FE7 within FE5. It's a proof-of-concept, learning tool, and showcase all in one. I'm currently planning on making all of Hector mode, skipping Lyn mode. This release has two chapters. This isn't 1-to-1, however. I'm not looking to write Elibe fanfiction, but this won't ever be a cut/paste job from 7 to 5. Classes, enemies, maps, and dialogue, along with some other things, will likely be changed. Unit stats, skills, and classes are not final. This is partially due to the WIP nature of the hack, but is mainly just me figuring out how to play with FE5. Have some screenshots: Here's a patch: ECVII [12-1-17] This is for an unheadered, unedited FE5 ROM. I'm not responsible for anything past chapter 2. Please don't ask me why it's vanilla. I'd also like to reiterate that essentially none of this is final--if you have a suggestion, I'd like to hear it. If you've got a complaint about stats/levels, be thankful that they'll be getting smoothed out later. I'd like to thank everyone involved--I certainly couldn't do it without you: There are plenty of bugs in the current build. If you find one not listed here, let me know.   2. The land of Eldrahgo is home to stories of might, magic, and valor. After centuries of war, its five kingdoms have managed secure peace that, so far, has endured even longer. Yet nothing lasts forever. In the blink of an eye, the whole continent is thrown into war again. Its only hope is a young man not of this world. A traveler who must learn to navigate this land if he has any hope of ever getting back home. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Foreword I've always been fascinated about the universe, space, other dimensions, the multi-verse theory, and other related topics generally considered the next frontier/final frontier. I believe in the multi-verse theory and wanted to create some sort of story based around that. And seeing as how there are a bunch of hacks out there set in what I consider parallel universes to the 'official' universes, I decided to go with using this multi-verse idea. Book of Eden is about a traveler from another dimension that whines up in one of those fire emblem universes. I known and talked to many people and one thing that intrigued me was how people always wanted or likes to either put self inserts, or create an alter ego of themselves, or even personal characters and put them into their favorite games/anime/universe. So I'm taking that concept and exploring how someone with little or no prior knowledge end up in one of my favorite universes. I love cross over between characters of different stories and finding out that in the official fire games, the dragon gate is an actual thing, I just might have an easier time bringing in other characters from different universes. So, in addition to the cast of Book of Eden, there will also be characters such as Ike from FE9&10 and Felix from Golden Sun TLA, just to name a few. Most will just be cameos but others will have both major and minor roles in the story. There's a saying that goes a little something like: "Born too late to explore the seas, but born too early to explore the stars." that perfectly captures how I feel about the current state of our world. Nothing beats the feeling of exploring new places and having adventures with those closest to you. Maybe the only exception to this, is having your heroes alongside you for the ride.   4. If you could add a support for sain who would it be between? Sain is my 2nd favourite fe7 character after canas and is the reason why I decided to carry on playing the game as he was really ridiculous which i found funny however his supports suck and gets paired endings with his worst options(not even a bromance with Kent!) Anyway, I was wondering if I could add a support and paired ending who would it be between? Personally, if I had the power I would pair him with Florina as I would imagine their supports would be super funny with them being the complete opposite when it comes to interacting with the opposite sex. As for a paired ending either Florina, Isadora or Kent. who would you pair him with if given the choice? i may do more of these on Reddit or on here if it's successful Ps. a 2nd option i would add would be Marcus and Sain.
  5. Yo so basically a while back I had an idea for a game that revolves around the black fang and I just saw this cool box art and it reignited my interest. So basically in this game, it would start off at around 5-10 years from lyns story, and before Nergals infiltration of the fang, it would obviously give some backstory between the members of the black fang, (such as why they joined their history ect) show the black fangs slow downfall by Nergal and how the members reacted and tie in some events that happened in elibe. one example I had is that Ostia recruited the fang to assassinate house Cornwell leader (raven and Priscilla's former houses) while the ostian troops destroy the soldiers. I think the game could work as a spin-off or something, there are certainly enough characters to have a balancedish cast and you could just fill out the blank spaces with characters, that got killed later on in the story.(probably by legault) anyway tell me what you think down below, i love making these kinds of idea threads
  6. Hey, it's been about 6 months since the last time and I got inspired while learning Python to remake the auctioneer program as an exercise, so I felt like doing another race. Here's the last one for context. For those unfamiliar, the way this works is rather than selecting units one by one, we all bid privately on each character in terms of turn-count penalty, then they get assigned to us along with turn-count handicaps by a program. I've attached a PDF detailing the rationale and operation of the auction. I'll also attach the Python files. Create a text file with your bids each on a separate line (plus an extra 0 for the blank slot) and it will automatically create some random values for the other players and run the auction. I'd delete the line that does rotations in Main.py to save some time while you experiment. Here's the rules, I've bolded some parts that are different from usual. If anyone has strong opinions I'll consider adjustments. I kept the bit about survive chapters becoming rout chapters, the optional Gaiden turn-counts are reduced, Marcus is no longer split into two units, early game penalty is reduced, and what you can do with others' units is generally better defined and restricted. Team structure 1a. There will be five players. 1b. There are 34 units. One team will have 6 units; the others will have 7. 2. All teams automatically include: a. Hector, b. Merlinus, Ninian/Nils, and Athos due to their unique nature, c. Wallace/Gietz and Harken/Karel as they would only create dead team slots. 3. Bartre and Karla come as a pair. 4. If you get Marcus, he may only be used freely starting chapter 17x. Rules of play 1. The game will be played on Hector Normal Mode, skipping Lyn Mode. 2. Restricted actions a. You may only deploy other player's units on chapters with units recruitable by a specific non-Hector unit or desert items, specifically 14, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 27, and 28. b. Another player's units under your control may ONLY move, recruit units (any), rescue/drop other players' units (not yours or NPCs), trade between chapters, and dig up items in the desert. c. They may not do anything else, including but not limited to: enter combat, use items/staves, trade/merch mid-chapter, visit (any building), rescue/drop your units or NPCs, steal, or build supports. d. Your units may do as you please without penalty. e. Mine/enemy control glitch is banned. 3. All Gaiden Chapters except 19xx, 23x and 28x must be visited. 23x and 28x are optional, and don't count towards the total turn-count up to 15 turns taken per chapter. The value is shortened from 20 which feels like too long. The last bridges needed to reach Sonia on 28x open turn 9 so even without water transport you can seize in 15. 4a. Chapters 13x, 15, 28, and 31 count the last Player Phase for which enemies are present for turns (or last PP if enemy not routed). 4b. Chapter 26 counts as 11 turns and is excluded from 4a so the player does not need to kill Vaida, and so that Vaida is actually usable. Penalties 1a. You may use an another player's unit as yours with a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 1b. The penalty is instead 3 turns for chapters 12, 13, and 13x due to forced deployment and to mitigate unfun early game. Exceptions 1. Matthew is free for Chapter 11. 2. Unarmed units may be attacked in Chapter 13x. 3. Lyn, Kent, Sain, and Wil may act freely in the southeast 5x5 box for Chapter 16. 4. Undrafted Thieves may be used to obtain necessary Promotion items.   7. I just started playing FE7 and I'm nearing the end of Normal Lyn Mode. I'm wondering if the assets are determined by the items of full price, or if they are halved by this sale equation for shops? What about prices that have decimals in the calculations, are they rounded up or down? I'm wondering because I'm trying to save up for Lyn's White/Blue/Red Gem that she gets when she's recruited in Chapter 15, and if I've already dropped below the wealth threshold, if I did, I might as well use the knight crest & energy ring to my liking. From what I've found what gem you get is determined this way: For reference, I've used the glitch to take Wallace's Knight Crest, and I used the Angelic Robe on Florina since I intend on using her as much as possible. Would using the Knight Crest on my preferred unit (Kent) & using the Energy Ring on who ever needs it be more beneficial or would trying to save up for the gems be more beneficial?
  8. Is it better to do it at level 10? Or should I wait for level 20? The difficulty has been picking up and I haven't been getting very good level ups. I also don't want to abandon my file so early into Eliwoods story. I am currently on chapter 19 of Eliwood normal mode.
  9. I remember seeing a patch for one of the GBA games that changed UI things, maybe even added the enemy attack range overlay from later games, to make it more convenient to play if you've got used to the modern games. Am I just imagining things, or does such a thing exist?
  10. RFV DLC v1.1 So this was suppose to be my RFV submission but I got carried away with my ideas and ended up missing all the deadlines. If I stopped at chapter 1, I would have made it. Same with chapter 2, would have made echoes but chapter 3 sunk all those plans. But man it was worth it. Too lazy for pictures so here is what to expect: - 3 chapters - Each one has a theme with mechanics unique to it. - A gripping story I never finished. It's about Raisen leaving Markyjoe1990 - Puns, tons of puns. Some would say being forced to listen to them could be a trap - Custom Animation I actually finished. Only the (crazy) worthy will see it's glory. - Might be a little hard. Only releasing this because I am actually really proud of this hack and think it's my best one yet. There is some weird dialogue stuff in there but I am not changing it because it captures my thoughts at the time. So eh enjoy.
  11. I am currently putting together my first hack, a complete edition of FE7. Essentially, it ties all of the route splits together, so you get stuff like both Hector and Eliwood's versions of chapter 11 and both Pale Flower of Darkness chapters, letting you get all the characters and situations (with some script tweaks to maintain cohesion). One of the last things I have yet to implement is having the player go through Valorous Roland, the chapter where Eliwood gets Durandal, right after The Berserker, where Hector gets Armads. The problem is that if the playthrough is done on Hector's mode, it treats him as a mandatory unit and Eliwood as optional, meaning that it puts Hector in the hallway where Eliwood usually begins and Eliwood doesn't have to be brought at all. The reverse also occurs if doing The Berserker on Eliwood mode. Narratively this isn't obviously isn't ideal, but I haven't figured out how to change essential units flagging or placement. I would also like to add a chapter for Lyn to get her weapon, which would require having her as the mandatory character. Would anyone be able to advise me? I'm currently using FEBuilder and have Nightmare, though I don't know if there might be another program better suited for it.
  12. Hey guys there is something that I`m sure I`m not the only one who wondered. Who do you guys think is Lilina`s real mom? I`m torn between Florina and Farina. Why I think it is them and not Lyn at all well one she has ina at the end of her name haha it is just like the ending in those two names and she does not have that trademark greenish or gray hair people from Sacae have (well Rutger did not either and he is half Bern) but Rutger atleast was of a class normal of Sacae a Sword Fighter. Now reason I think Farina well one she only joins in Hector`s story and if one is to look closely Lilina shares many traits with her. They have similar eyes,face and hair so that is what makes me think Farina is more Canon. Florina is harder but it is clear she does have feelings for Hector if one is to play his scenario ever since he saved her from that fall but Lilina does not share too much with Florina in my eyes but Florina and Hector is quite cute though. So yeah thoughts and opinions? I want to get to the bottom of this big FE mystery or atleast somewhat close.
  13. Hi all! I posted a little under a week ago requesting a portriat of Fom and Fire Dragon. I've realized, at least with the latter, it'd be a lot of work for free. So, as I said with last post, I'd like a portrait of Fomortiis and the Fire Dragon that are like regular portraits (with talking, blinking, mini, etc.). I'm open to whatever prices y'all want since I've never commissioned GBA portraits!
  14. In my last casual playthrough of FE7, I couldn't stand the dialogue font. Far too tall for how thin it is. With my experience messing around with roms over the years, I decided I could fix it myself. This is a personal QOL hack I made for myself, but I figured sharing it with others would be a great service. I started off by importing Sacred Stones' font. Unfortunately, I then discovered what a typographical nightmare that font is. Irregular x-heights make reading very uncomfortable, especially as a fast reader. So I made several edits to make it more palatable. Dialogue font x-heights have been normalized. The lowercase "y" is less thin. Menu fonts are also slightly modified and have had x-heights normalized. The lowercase "t" is taller. As I created it for my casual playthrough, I was able to playtest it from start to finish (Lyn Normal -> Eliwood Normal) with no issues. Here are some screenshots: FE7 Font Revamp v1.0.ips (Apply to a US FE7 ROM) Of course, I wasn't done there: there were still two other Fire Emblem games I've yet to play that feature the same crappy fonts. Well, I'm glad to announce that I have font patches available for both Sacred Stones and Binding Blade! I haven't had the chance to test either of these to a great extent, so let me know if you come across any problems. FE8 Font Revamp v1.0.ips (Apply to a US FE8 ROM) FE6 Font Revamp + Text Crawls v1.0.xdelta (Apply to Gringe's FE6 Translation v1.0) The following patch works on both the current fantranslation and the old one. It's missing text crawls, but it is functional. FE6 Font Revamp v1.0.ips (Apply to any English-patched FE6 ROM) Because this hack only modifies font graphics, almost all romhacks should be compatible! If you would like to use these font modifications in your own romhacks, feel free to do so! Credit is highly appreciated, but not necessary. Explicit permission is not needed, but I'd love to hear if you're planning on using these. I hope you are able to get as much out of these as I have!
  15. So I'm attempting HHM for the second time and I'm wondering which characters so you suggest using the Energy Ring and Angelic robe on. I'm thinking of giving the Energy Ring to Florina and I'm not sure who I should give the Angelic Robe to What do you guys think?

(With talking, mini, etc.) I hope they aren't too difficult since they're kind of already existing just in a different format. (I really know little to nothing about Portraits)
  17. I have multiple reinforcements coming from one fortress tile (i.e. they all load on the fortress but when spawning walk to adjacent tiles). I'd like to have it so that if a player unit is standing on the fortress it blocks all of the spawns coming from the fortress, not just the one that happens to end up standing on the fortress itself. Does anyone know how to do this?
  18. Hi folks. I've been having the hardest time getting village tile changes to work for approximately an eternity now. I'm using Tiled and Tiled Map Inserter, and I've been following Nintenlord's tutorial to a tee. Still, the game refuses to use a different tile change for visiting and destroying a village, as shown: Here's my tile setup: I know the destroyed tiles are supposed to be on top and have a lower ID, which I've done. I tried putting the closed layer on top, which results in the game using that one for both events instead: I've triple checked that neither of the IDs are already used in the chapter (I've tried different IDs too), I've tried shuffling the 3 layers around with every possible order, but no dice. At this point I'm well and truly out of ideas ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit: *Facepalm* A single hour after I post this and a random idea that ends up being the solution crosses my mind. I guess the game doesn't like that I used the entire 3x3 village for the closed tile change. Just the gate by itself is what it's looking for. The more you knoooooow
  19. As that title states i was thinking about doing a challenge run where i pick exclusively lowtier characters and do an Ironman with them (forgive me if this has been done before). I was probably going to start with FE7 as it's the one I'm most familiar with and it's easily stream-able. Only problem is I don't know what characters are actually considered the worst. Given that you guys here at Serenes Forest are fairly decent when it comes to these things, can we get some voting on whose the top 10-15 worst characters? maybe 3 responses per person? I'll tally them up and start up a run, probably less than a week depending. Update: So from this consensus im getting: Wil Rebecca Nino Renault Lyn (but it's not unique) Louise Wallace squared Serra Dorcas and Bartre Matthew Update 3: Ok so minus Rath and Lucius (lucius himself seemed decent but i figured Erk is better purely because anima) So ill start this up this weekend probably friday or Saturday depending. I'm basically going to either not deploy whose not on the list or ill have them die a heroic death with no weapon in hand. Also going out of my way to try and make wallace is going to be fun.   20. This post has been somewhat inspired by FionordeQuester's recent guide to S-ranking LHM while getting Nils to level 7. S-ranking Lyn Mode alone is not a very challenging feat, regardless of the difficulty. However, achieving all of the tactician stars is a bit more difficult, due to some rather insane funds/EXP requirements for certain chapters (in particular, Chapter 2, where you can spend at most 60G worth of weapon uses and need to gain 200 EXP, which turns out to just barely be possible). This guide will aim to give a step-by-step walkthrough of how to get all 60 nice stars for Lyn Normal Mode on your ranking screen. Rules: - No RNG abuse, with the exception of Chapter 2, where it is necessary to rig every critical hit. - Before each chapter, a hard reset is done to bring the RNG back to its initial position for consistency. - All cutscenes will be skipped (Start) in order to avoid the burning of extra RNs during scenes with movement on the map. - Aim for lowest turn counts possible while meeting 5-star requirements. - All treasure obtained, all bosses killed (in other words a complete playthrough). Possibly something related to steals. My aim for this guide is for anyone who reads it to be able to achieve the same result simply by mimicking the playthrough given here, so if anything is unclear, or if you find something to be incorrect, don't hesitate to let me know! Alright then, let's get started! The save file I end up with in this run may be used in a future LNM+ENM Max Tactician Stars run, so I will keep that in the back of my mind while doing this.   22. Von Plays Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade (Hector Normal) (Randomized) Introduction Hello everyone! So I'm going to try my hand at a randomized Let's Play of Blazing Blade. This'll give me something else interesting to do while I think about Support chain ideas for Sanctaea Chronicles. Here are my settings. It won't be anything too crazy, I don't think. I'm not going to randomize items. It's too bad characters in originally gender-locked classes won't be able to use new sprites. I guess we'll just have to pretend they're in drag. So yeah... I think that's all I have to say for this intro. Anyway, let's give this thing a spin!

    Ok, I have seen loads and loads of people saying that ''Rebecca is trash lol''. I just don't get it. I know that Wil comes with the Lyn Story ''bonus'' and some-what medium growths but...What makes her THAT bad?
