  1. Hi guys! I really like Gaiden's plot but the sprites are a bit old, so I tried to make the portraits of some characters from the first and the second chapter. They are the first sprites I ever made, but i hope you like them! Advices to improve their quality are welcome^^ The characters i made are: Alm, Luka, Gray, Robin, Cliff, Silk, Clair, Clive, Fols, Paison, Mycen, Celica, Mae, Boey, Jenny, Savor, Valbar, Kamui, Leo and three enemies: Slayder, Dozer and Dahha
  2. Mr.Night here with another LP for a fe7 hack. which one? Project dondon this time. Why? because back when I was lurking the forums, I have heard of this hack and how hard it can be. since I am a sucker for all games hard, I naturally wanted to play it. played the first chapter and lost 3 fucking times. I just had to LP so once more y'all can enjoy my suffering. Dondon has told me there is only 4 and the chapters get worse in design but I still think its worth playing and will keep that in mind as I play. so for this run, yolo standards which means no savestate. Edit: rage, pure savestate abuse rage because this game is a middle finger to vanilla gba rules Now let's begin. Ch. 1 pt 1, Learning how to LTC Deaths: Night (+3 offscreen), Lucius (+1)

  4. Okay, I need help with the cheat codes. Watch this video. [spoiler=Video ] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nH7rVeHYuH4&feature=youtu.be Look at his Skill. I added 05 at the end of the address and expected his skill to go up by 5. But it didn't go up at all this time. It actually went down. So, what do I need to add for it to go up or down by a certain amount? EDIT: Maybe I should've zoomed in.

  7. Hey guys! I'm started a new LP of Radiant Dawn! I can't wait to get the ball rolling on it! Would love it if you guys took a look at it. (disclaimer, i swear kind of a lot) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNpCNoCDtmQ THANKS!
  8. Hey all, So... I like thinking about the mechanics and classes of Fire Emblem and whatnot. I love when people come up with ideas for new classes or new magic users especially. One thing I have been thinking about recently is how... Incomplete the magic of anima, and just magic in general seems in some Fire Emblem games. Obviously Fire Emblem is not an RPG like Final Fantasy or something, but it still strikes me as odd that we have an elemental magic class in Anima that only uses basically 3 elements, whereas the Affinities have at least 2 more, if not 3 depending on the game aside from Light and Dark... So I am wondering do you think the other elements could be used/useful in Fire Emblem? FEif appears to have someone casting ice... But how would you like to see it? My personal idea comes from the 8 elements seen in Path of Radiance... Light/Dark/Anima could still make the greater magic triangle, but then Anima could still have a triangle within itself... Perhaps Light and Dark could be developed into that as well... But anyways, I can see the Anima or Elemental magic as being either two separate but interactive/overlapping magic types... Or if the Anima triangle had separate ranks for each of the three types... Perhaps the one other element could pair with it? But anyways, here is the basic idea. -another form of magic triangle? Wind > Thunder > Fire > Wind... Water > Ice > Earth > Water Earth grounds Thunder, Water puts out Fire, Ice blocks Wind Thunder electrifies Water, Fire melts Ice, Wind stirs up Earth Thunder and Ice are neutral... Fire and Earth are neutral... Wind and Water are neutral as well... ...this idea could do with some tweaking, maybe a visual aid to demonstrate/make it clearer... But what do you guys think? Or are there any ideas for Magic in Fire Emblem you yourselves would like to see?
  9. So at the moment, She is in the Dark Flier class. The skills she has are: Veteran, Ignis, Solidarity, Rally Spectrum, And Galeforce. Any ideas to make her better?

  11. Hi! I'm new to Serenes Forest, and this is My first thread (or whatever it's called) on a forum. So If I look like I don't know what I'm doing, chances are, I don't know what I'm doing. Oh, and here are some sprites I made. Feel free to leave your feedback. -Edit- I redid the return on the princess.

  13. So I got this game for my birthday last year, Path of Radiance, and I just now got around to playing it. I've gotta say, compared to Awakening, the access to Convoy and Supports come fairly late in this game, I like the fact XP can be... Given at times and the game itself is really well made. The mechanics are fun, as well. Really interesting. (I can also see why there's so much shipping of Ike and Elincia) But, you know, I've been wondering. Are Marth and Roy in this game?
  14. Here's my custom sprites. I need your help , make your custom female mugs then post it here . ^-^ Thanks.
  15. I'm thinking of having Donny equip Sol. (The Sword) With Armsthrift, I believe it's a rather good choice. Donny doesn't have THAT many useful skills, anyways? But, since I already have him equip Sol, The Skill, will the chance for the Skill to activate double?
  16. Hi, everyone! This is a playthrough I thought up while suffering from insomnia last night. Basically, I am ONLY allowed to use SpotPass Bonus Box characters*. As some may know, these units CAN NOT support with any unit, but they are essentially Avatars in that they can reclass into any class not excluded by gender. If this sounds interesting to you, read on! If not, do as you will. I can't force you. Just please no hate comments or anything stupid. So, without further ado.... The Rules: 1) I may only use SpotPass bonus box characters. Those characters must be acquired according to the units I recruit. For example, when I acquire Virion, I must then get an Archer. If it is a Prepromote (Fredrick) I may recruit a unit that PROMOTES INTO that class (A Knight or Cavalier in Freddy's case.) *Exceptions: - I may use Chrom, Female MU (Janet, a play on my screen name, Joth) and their offspring (Morgan and Lucina) so that Janet has enough "invisible ties" to not die at the end and crush our hearts :,( - If the unit's class is either entirely unavailable to me (Like Tanguels) or not available for a long time (Manaketes) I may substitute that unit for a future non-SpotPass unit (Like Donnel) or another Spot Pass unit that I am in need of. 2) I may reclass the units as I see for for skills, BUT they must end the game as a promoted version of their base class. No exceptions. Yes, there are only two rules. I don't like rules. Goals for Normal Units: Chrom: Support/Offensive Great Lord -Aether -RK -DS+ -DG+ -Aegis Janet is going to be used more than Chrom most likely, so I made him mainly support. Janet (+Res -Str): Offensive Sorceress -Armsthrift -Hit+20 -Lifetaker -Tomebreaker -Galeforce Pretty self-explanitory. Hit+20 because hit for Dark Magic sucks. I'll be mainly using Forged Ruin, Mire, and to a lesser extent Nosferatu and Thoron. I need to hit hard, because Sorcerers aren't too fast. Morgan M: Defensive Sorcerer -Armsthrift -RK -Vantage -Pavise? -Aegis?/Galeforce A defensive Sorcerer doesn't care too much about Galeforce, but it's always nice to inherit just in case. Pretty standard, Nostank and Miresnipe all day. Lucy: Offensive GL -Aether -RK -Lifetaker -Tomebreaker/Ignis Ignis might be good since she will probably build up some good Mag as a Dark Knight and some as Grandmaster should she decide to grab it, Tomebreaker otherwise. Reader Involvement: If I need advice on any aspect of the game, or can't decide which SpotPass character to snag, I'll open it up to you and take any well thought-out contribution you make into consideration. I need you to keep this thread alive! That's all I'm gonna put in this post, because it's just far too long and I don't know how to do Spoilers. I'll update as soon as I get to where I can actually use Wireless, and slowly pick away at a few of the replacement characters (Fredstomping, ahoy!) Sorry again for the freaking WALL O' TEXT! ~Joth

  19. Hey all, Welcome to the first ever,(that I am aware of) Serenes Forest Biweekly Battle Sprite Showdown! ---- Many thanks to all who offered ideas, and suggestions! So much great feedback, and much thanks goes to Lenh, Ghast, and Levy for suggestions on format for rules and competition, and to all who offered advice or ideas... Special kudos to Lenh for going over each part of the original post! With that out of the way, lets get down to it! ----- THEME/TOPIC: Match Game, Make a battle sprite that matches the artwork or mug of an existing Fire Emblem character. can be any of entries from the series(ex. FE13, FE BS satellite, etc.) ENTRIES: An example of what to post. [Name of character] Lyn [Entry Division] Splice/Edit -Base used for Splicers/Editors(non-Optional), Pose/Skeleton or early form for Custom Sprite(Optional) -Your Entry -Reference/mug to illustrate or be used for the concept or theme. -Post reference/art used in spoilers below [spoiler=Original Art/Reference] Lyn is one of the few Fire Emblem GBA sprites to have a mug and sprite, and even character art that actually match pretty well... so, lets make some more, shall we? ------ As this is our first Biweekly Battle Sprite Showdown competition, let me lay out some ground rules. [spoiler=Rules] RULES: 1) only 1 entry per contestant, either in the Full Custom division or in the Splice/Heavy Edit division. 2) No voting for your own entry! 3) Entries should be limited to 16 colors.(15 colors+ 1 background color) This is more of a guideline, but good to follow for style and challenge reasons. Colors may be custom or using GBA sprite palletes. 4) No posting previous/old works. SPLICE/HEAVY EDIT DIVISION NOTES > Contestants must be able to show work if splice/edited nature of the sprite is under question. FULL CUSTOM DIVISION NOTES > Again, Skeleton/early version is not required to be posted, but recommended. (This is more for newer battle spriters to learn from/reference) [spoiler=Voting and Winners] VOTING: Voting will be split into three categories, -Best Full Custom -Best Splice/Edit. -Best Overall Battle Sprite >Voting will run for 3 days WINNERS: Winner of Best Overall Sprite may also be the winner of Best Full Custom, or Best Splice/Edit category. > Winner of the Best Overall Sprite gets to choose the next theme/topic of the following contest. > Winner of the Full Custom Division gets to provide a skeleton pose. > Winner of the Splice Division gets to provide a base sprite to splice for the next contest. > Winner with the highest votes total gets to provide a reference/original art. Runners-up will be the three contestants with the next highest votes following the winners. > The Runners-up of the three categories will get to provide their choice of either one base sprite each for splicing, a reference, or a skeleton pose. > Winners and Runners-up must provide their choices within 3 days of the host's private messaging. Host will provide the next theme/topic if no reply in 3 days. The Winners of each category of the contest will also receive a custom banner and trophy sprite which they can display in their signatures for bragging rights. A thread will be kept updated chronicling past events and winners for the community. ---- Any further questions or concerns can be PMed to the current host!(That's me Errant, currently) ...or posted either in the feedback thread or within this thread itself. Deadline: Monday, February 9th, 2015... 11:59pm PST (ie... about 2 weeks) ...1 day extension. Hope you all enjoy and have some fun! Lets get spriting! :D PS: I have currently left out animations as a category. We may do another of the Competition weeks focused on animations but as for now they are just bonus. Might garner you some extra votes if people think it looks cool. If we have enough interest for animations, we may include that as a division/category of future showdowns, or have showdowns focused on animations. ...any other suggestions or ideas on the format/rules/deadline will be taken into account. My apologies if this is still too wordy... we'll work on that. ;) EDIT: voting thread is up! Go vote!
  20. That's the original post... [spoiler=1st Edit]1/23 Awesome, sounding like we have a lot of interest in this... so I guess we'll get a contest up soon, in the meantime while I finalize/figure out rules lets have some thoughts on what the community would enjoy! The poll is now up to get a sense of what we'll try with Format and Topics/Themes... [spoiler=2nd Edit]1/24 ...and the thread/contest is up! Hope you enjoy! [spoiler=3rd Edit]1/27 added to the title, tribute to Aeo finally getting thru to my stubborn, sleep deprived ass to be more casual. :) CURRENT EDIT: 1/28 So, took out the first poll as we have the first contest up and going well. Second poll on themes/topics will stay. New poll added as there was some debate about how people wanted to be able to vote. ...so go vote, and discuss. (Found a quirk...If you have already entered a vote in one of the earlier polls, you will have to choose delete my vote in order to re-enter voting) [spoiler= Copies of Old Polls] 1/28/15 Copy of the first poll: Contest Format. Copy of the Second Poll: Topics and Themes, original votes. ...animations ended up getting some more votes after we put the first contest thread up. At the original time posted, animations did not have enough votes/interest to make it a category. I'd like to try and have a week focused on animations though. Think that'd be great to spice things up and develop those skills. :) ...OK, votes got borked due to Question 1 Poll being deleted. Poll 2 is still reading the old multiple choice votes despite now being a single choice vote now... UGH... Ok, rejigged it, Question 2 back in right place... Please recast your votes. Edit: so... First comp. Entry vote is up... Go vote! EDIT: ...2nd Comp vote is on! Go vote! 21. My name is Onee-nee I am here to introduce you to the idea of Fire Emblem x iDOLM@STER Basically, we are thinking of modding Fire Emblem (Maybe FE7 or FE8) game to add iDOLM@STER Character like Haruka, Chihaya, Takane, and so on with an original story all together. The Story might be the hardest since we are making an original story from a scratch. But I believe we can make this a reality. For starter, I aimed for all 765Pro character to be playable with Cinderella Girls character added to fill the character slot. I was thinking that maybe we can acquire some people who is capable and/or interested in it. Though, digging for the idea only seems to be a very good idea~ To be honest, while I know a basic programming and some adobe flash+Photoshop, I am quite incapable of making this a reality. But I can still pour a lot of idea. For now, let's dig some idea and so on~ Story: -Need Idea- Character: 1. Takane -Lord- The main lord for the first ten chapter (Aka Tutorial Mode) A Regal and Mysterious Maiden of The Old Capital, she wields a Lance, Her growth is based around Skill and Str with good Def growth and great Con yet average speed growth at best, making her an Accurate Tank. 2. Haruka -Lord- Your Main Lord from Chapter 11 to the end of the story. The normally normal girl who is also an idol, she wields sword. The Lord with Eliwood/Marth growth, her growth is basically average at everything except Res (Good Growth), Luck (Bad Growth), and Con (Quite Low) 3. Miki -Lord- Your main lord from chapter 11 to the end of the story when you do second playthrough. The Born talented yet Lazy idol, she wields Axe. Basically Hector expy with a stat that doesn't resemble him much, her str has the best growth but her skill and def are falling behind. 4. Chihaya -Myrmidon- The Myrmidon you need but you don't deserve. The Skilled yet shaken Idol, her class is Myrmidon. Your standard Myrmidon with great skill, great speed, and decent str but plagued by low def and low con. 5. Hibiki -Wyvern Rider- The first flying unit you can use. The Wild and Animal-loving idol, her class is Wyvern Rider. An All-Around and balanced unit that excel at everything except Res. So far, that's the current idea we have. Maybe if you have any idea you can speak up and discuss with everyone. I will be very thankful and pleased if you want to help us, even a simple praise is very supporting for us. Thank you and I hope this can become reality.
  22. Hey guys! As many of you know, a very important mechanic in FE5 and FE3 Book 2 is the ability to actively influence the growth rates of units by having them carry crusader scrolls (or star shards in FE3's case). If exploited, this mechanic can turn units with moderate or even bad growth rates to actually useful units. However, whenever I find myself playing either FE5 or FE3, I tend to forget the exact base growths of most of my units and/or the exact bonuses granted by items (especially some that influence multiple stat growths), therefore having to look them up. This is more evident in FE5's case where the inventory has 7 available slots, therefore allowing for more complex combinations of scrolls. Furthermore, the way that crusader scrolls function may not be immediately obvious to those new to the game. So this gave me the idea of building a tool that would automate these computations and would also allow any user to keep track of these computations easily, without having to lookup or even remember anything. It's nothing too fancy really, just some html, css and a bit of javascript coding that gets the job done. Please allow me to demonstrate. Let's pick Marty (the man whom Dagda loved) as our test subject: Upon selection, the calculator displays an output that consists of three parts: the character's modified growths, the character's chances to cap each stat and his average stats (many thanks to Sara. for suggesting this addition). Modified Growths: The first part details the unit's modified growth rates under the specified set of crusader scrolls. Of course, if you select no scrolls, what you'll see is simply the unit's base growths. Regarding the displayed data, the unit's starting class is also shown along with his growth rates, in case someone wants to compare between units of the same class. Now, as it becomes instantly obvious, his Str, Skl and Spd are downright horrible and should be tampered if we want him to have a fighting chance. Let's load his inventory with a bunch of scrolls: Whenever a new scroll is added or removed, the output table changes appropriately to reflect his current growth rates. In order to be able to instantly tell which growths have been modified and in what way, growth rates that have been increased are colored green, while growth rates that have been decreased are colored red. Additionally, you are able to view the bonus modifiers granted by each individual scroll by simply having your mouse cursor hover above it. That way, there's no need to remember the exact bonuses granted by each scroll when planning your strategy. If the user wishes to view a summary of the exact bonuses on any particular stat, he can again hover his mouse over the corresponding cell of the output table. Finally, if a growth rate becomes negative due to the effect of crusader scrolls, the calculator treats it as zero (please see: http://old.serenesforest.net/general/growth.html for details). This is shown below for Marty's Mag when he's equipped with the Noba scroll. Chances to Cap: The second part of the output details the character's likelihood to cap each of his respective stats. This is similar to the "Chance to Cap" data listed in the Path of Radiance section of serenesforest (see: http://serenesforest.net/path-of-radiance/characters/chance-to-cap/). Furthermore, as far as I'm aware, no such data are currently listed for Thracia 776, so this calculator might as well provide you with a fast way for computing those. What's more, these chances will automatically change as you change the equipped scrolls. Notice that since we're capable of instantly tracking how the "chances to cap" change for each stat, it is somewhat easier to determine which combination will benefit your units most (based on what scrolls you possess and what you aim to do). Average stats: The last part of the output consists of a series of tables containing estimates for the character's average stats, for a specified set of crusader scrolls. Of course, the very first row contains the selected character's base stats. Stats that have reached their respective caps, will be distinguished by flashing like this: Similarly to the previous tables, the average stats tables are also updated everytime you either select a different character or change scrolls in the inventory. For a different set of scrolls, Marty's predicted average stats become: Promotion gains can also be viewed instantly by hovering your mouse above a cell containing a stat name for each promotion (starting class is excluded). The next image shows this for Marty's Str when promoting to a Warrior. Of course, if the inventory doesn't contain any scrolls, the average stats displayed will be identical to the ones found here: http://serenesforest.net/thracia-776/characters/average-stats/ Here's an example of this using Evayle: What do you guys think? Would it be of any interest/use to the community? Any suggestions are welcome. The application can be downloaded from GitHub: https://github.com/Sharpshooter23/FE5-Growth-Rate-Calculator Feel free to play around with it or to read through its source code.
  23. During a scene in the trailer you can see someone preform Ice Magic which is interesting topic all on itself but something more interesting is a rat thing you see while the magic is preforming the magic spell. Thanks to The Tree's Apprentice's theory i think i may have a theory on what it is. I think the Magic in this game is going to be based on Feng Sui which is the theory that there are five elements these are: Fire,Water, Earth,Wood and Metal: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/FiveElementsCycleBalanceImbalance.jpg The Metal element can take the form of ice, and the magic being used in the trailer was Ice magic, represented by a rat spirit. There is something that goes against this theory..The Rat in Chinese mythology is represented by Water not Metal. On the other hand the Rat like the other Chinese Zodiac Animals can be combined with the 5 elements and Water is associated with Ice so it's not a stretch to assume they choose the Rat to represent Ice. This makes me wonder: Will they introduce a Complete Magic Triangle back into the new game with each element being effect and weak to another. Only time will tell. If you are curious about which element each animal represents: Rat: Water Ox: Earth Tiger: Wood Hare: Wood Dragon: Earth Snake: Fire Horse: Fire Ram: Earth Monkey: Metal Rooster: Metal Dog: Earth Pig: Water
  24. ...It's a legit question. I found myself worrying yesterday if some of the features that attracted me to Fire Emblem Awakening would be taken out of Fire Emblem IF. Now, mind you this is MY opinion, and I'm aware of the loads of hate Awakening receives, due to the lack of story, and how compared to past installments of the series, it kinda strayed away from its usual way. But I couldn't get enough of having multitudes of Supports. I learned more about these characters I controlled, and I was able to feel like they were more than soldiers because of it. I genuinely wanted to help them to see their cause, and I still play the game with precise care the moment I'm typing this. I loved the idea of an Avatar, a character that was PART of the story. A bad story, I'll admit, but a story nonetheless. The idea you could have children, a spouse, and see them inherit things from you, whether it be skills, or hair colors... I liked it. And then there's DLC and Skirmishes. Ways of grinding, that kept the game interesting, and I could prepare for the ultimate chapters and challenges. This stuff compelled me to take a glimpse at Fire Emblem Awakening, and I couldn't tear my eyes away because of it. But I worry now, because it's clear that the game is near complete. Coming out sometime this Summer (Correct me if I'm wrong?) and the look of the game being so... Filling, I have no reason to suspect they will change much. I've looked when they slowly gave Info about Awakening. How Vaike, Stahl, and Sully had generic models for their sprites. We don't see this now. There's ACTUAL characters now, great animations, and it seems they've got some sort of Story going. What my point is... This game looks like a good bulk is done. The main bulk. Awakening was made with the idea that it was the last in the series, correct? And because of that, they worked their rears off to make Awakening great. And it payed off. Nintendo looks like it values the series, that they put their faith in FE once again, and I couldn't be happier, as within a year this series became my favorite, and I'm ashamed that's because of a simple FE game like Awakening. But... If they work with this mindset of, "This is just another game," this game... Will certainly fall from Awakening's standards. And that's what got so many people on board in the first place: Awakening was a vanilla like Fire Emblem game. Not too much, weapon or class-wise was introduced. So my question here is: Will they work with the mindset of this being the "last" in the series... Or will this be a cheap-Awakening cash-in? (Sorry it was so long! >_< Had this on my mind awhile)
  25. Alright, so im having difficulty with having codes that point to specific characters..... for example 2b8c27 Ike's skill slot 7 is 002B16A7 but since there is no one other than ike... i went to level modifiers, since they are tons Tormod's Level Mod is 002B8BFE 000000XX and Ike's is 002B167E 000000XX, but when i subtracted the two, that applied the difference to the skill set 7, for some reason, it went to zihark instead...... could i get help? i need the following codes for these characters Tormod Skill set 7 for Lumina Ilyana skill set 7 for Lumina Soren Skill set 7 for Lumina Oscar Axe and Bow skill Kieran Lance and Bow skill Makalov Axe and Lance skill Astrid Axe and Lance skill Greil skill set 2 to remove discipline If the Serenes Forest Community could help me with this, i will be happy
