  1. Simple as it sounds. I'll start with Hermit.
  2. This is going to sound kind of weird but I'll get to the point. So lets say if Kent dies on a certain chapter, you get a game over, but I only want it to be for one chapter because it is key he stays alive but on any other chapter he can die and you can carry on. How can I create an event to do this, is it as simple as IFCD or something like that? I kind of feel a bit stupid for asking this but help would be much appreciated =)
  3. Ok here's the issue... I would like to know to the Price of Awakening FE, reason because, I saved up about a 113 AUS Dollars, and I would like to know the Cheapest price for this game, In AUS its 47.10$, I would like to know a cheaper price, also because I don't have a 3DS. In AUS its 108.00$ for a 3DS (preowned}. Thanks.
  4. Alright, normally I don't post here, just read here, but this seems worth a thread, so here we go: This was brought to my attention when Extra Credits did an episode on it, and it came rather out of the blue. Checking some sources, it does seem to be a real thing that's happening. The Extra Credits video summarizes it, and you should definitely watch it if you don't want to dig through other sources. Extra Credits Video Other sources, because one isn't enough for this: BBC news News Scientist I would have liked to find more sources, but my google searches kept getting interrupted by ads for american credit score companies. If anyone can find more sources, feel free to post them here. Anyways, for those of you who don't want to check the sources, I'll sum it up: China has partnered with various social media networks in order to create a new system called Sesame Credit. Currently, it's optional, thankfully. The system tracks your posts and links on social media networks,(according to someone from China, it actually DOESN'T do that, though the Extra Credits video says it does) as well as your purchases and other things (and its being going to track more things as time goes by.), and uses them to assign a score to people depending on what they're doing. If you post "good" links, such as links to sites praising the government, you'll get an increased score. Posting "bad" links or making "bad" purchases with your money lowers your score. But that's only the start. The number it gives you isn't just a score. There's already government-mandated benefits in place for having good scores. It lets you reduce paperwork and buy cars easier if you have a good score. Right now, there's no penalties for bad scores. Right now. Another method it uses to track your score isn't what you do-it's what your FRIENDS do. Checking your score or the scores of anyone else online is as easy as a few clicks, and the site even gives you a handy map of all your friends scores. The thing is, having friends who have low scores drags your OWN score down. Meaning, you have to cut those people away from you, at least on social media, if you want a score, as having friends with bad scores will make keeping those good-score benefits you've worked for that much harder. It will be mandatory for the entire population come 2020. Extra Credits explains it all a lot better than I did, so you definitely should watch the video. This feels like something that deserves discussion. China has always maintained an extremely tight control on what its population says and does, and now its taking another step, using incentives and reward systems to keep people in check in a more subtle way. Myself, I don't think its a good thing at all. In fact, this entire thing feels like some crazy sci-fi thing. China is trying to compare this to a credit score, like we have in America, but the two aren't even close. The credit score tracks how well and often you pay your bills, not how "good of a citizen" you are!
  5. Hello, everyone! It's my honour to be hosting the second Mug Medley game (first part is here). Special thanks to Smirks and TheErrantShepherd for letting me host this. So, for those of you who don't know, here are the rules of Mug Medley: Basically just try and make the most weird and amusing mug you can think of. There are no limits on how much times you can edit the mug. So, without further ado, I'll start the first round with everyone's favourite sassy cleric:
  6. UPDATE: So, realized I don't wanna leave this in limbo. If anyone wants to host, maybe volunteer/start up the new thread? My vote is Smirks or Toa as both are fairly active around the forums and in this thread. But yeah, anyone who wishes to take this on, feel free? Maybe somebody could tally up votes perhaps once a few people have volunteered? I dunno, anyways... have fun! Found some old sprites that amused me from a spriting game on FEPlanet... I believe it was called, Mug Medley? Basic Premise: One person starts with a generic mug and performs ONE form of edit to it. Next person adds/edits ONE thing onto that sprite... we keep going for a while till we come up with something... amusing... or we get bored and want something new? Wanna play? :D Btw Major props to Smirks for this AWESOME banner. :) ---- I will start... by providing the base sprite... either perform small subtle changes... or duck costumes... you know, whatever you like. Keep it fun. ;) -Bartre... with a simple recolor... and... go! :D
  7. Each person gets a sentence. ONE SENTENCE. No cheating. I'll give the honors to someone other than me to start the story.
  8. Today, I'm doing something I never would have done if not for peer pressure... GHEBFE! Okay, so, essentially, after FE8 came out in the US, some guy looked at it and said, "wow, this Gheb guy is cool". He went on the internet and found others who shared the same opinion. When they finally found enough people, they all said "let's all build a shrine to our lord and savior!"(Gheb was not originally regarded as a Savior, but the more followers Gheb has, the more convinced people became of his nonexistent beauty). So, they all snuck naked into the deep Canadian woods, and constructed a giant wooden shrine in the shape of Gheb. They were all convinced that if lightning struck it, it would come to life as a REAL GHEB. Finally, a thunderstorm came, and the shrine was hit by lightning... but all it did was catch fire and burn to the ground, because it was just shaped wood. And so, they all headed home and decided it would be easier to make this hack instead. Literally none of that was true, because I have no idea what the actual history of this hack is. It was made way before I joined these forums, like before 2010 even. This hack is positively ANCIENT by hack standards. I'm shocked the download is still working, but whatever. Normally I'd link you to it, but you know what? If for some reason you want to play this, you can find it yourself. I don't want to be a part of propagating this hack's legacy... more than I already am by doing this, at least.e Anyways. This is a blind LP, as I know little to nothing about the hack. So, let's get started! PRELUDE TO GHEBFE: GROWTHS:
  9. Okay, not exactly, but this just came out of nowhere and it looks really interesting. I don't know much yet, it's probably really simple, but if this takes off and gets some effort and a good supply of updates, I can see this as something really cool. As someone who loves Lego, I have high hopes for this. It's a sandbox Lego game reminiscent of Minecraft. Here's an article: http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/01/lego-worlds/ Also, vehicles and sloped terrain, that's pretty cool, and it's on Steam Early access. I haven't got it myself yet, so I don't know how good the creative or gameplay aspects are yet. EDIT: A trailer
  10. Which game would be best to start with? Which game would be best to end with? Should one play each in order or start with beginner friendly titles like Awakening and Blazing Sword?
  11. I've always enjoyed Fire Emblem and roleplaying game and have wanted to play a game with both. However, an online search found no such thing as a finished Fire Emblem roleplaying game that was still like Fire Emblem. So, I decided to make one, and this is just that. Paper Fire Emblem Paper Fire Emblem is the name I've come up with for this paper and pencil roleplaying. With just paper, pencils, a few dice, and this manual, you'll be able to play a finished Fire Emblem roleplaying game that still carries the Fire Emblem style, mechanics, gameplay, and rules. This is v0.8 currently because I need to add a few descriptions to some classes, but all necessary info, as well as mechanics is there; it is fully playable and ready to use! It is also in need of playtesting and feedback since I'm unfortunately unable to convince my siblings to play. Ideas, comments, or suggestions are fully welcome and needed. Enjoy! Paper Fire Emblem Players' Manual.pdf
  12. Japan got an event for a shiny Jirachi (because Bank blocked the actual legit shiny Jirachis from prior games) and through the magic of trolling around GameFAQs I managed to get one. That said someone on SF prolly got one before me. shiny Celebi event plz Nintendo. <:3
  13. Playing as white against easy AI Anyone can post whenever Say your move and I'll pick the most common/random one using an RNG if there's a tie/no common moves I'll update in timely intervals, 3 hours minimum for each turn, longer if need be, i'll wait for at least 3 responses. I'll start e2 -> e4 btw I'm not actually that good at chess, just thought i'd test this idea out. Future FE games maybe?? :O
  14. I was wondering what characters everyone liked from the different Fire Emblem games. This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and I think I've finally come to a conclusion about my favourite character from each game. I'm also going to count remakes as the same as the original, for simplicities sake (unless they're FE11/12 exclusive, such as Horace or Frey). FE1/11: Merric. Merric is the character that really sold me on mages, but it wasn't just because of his stats. The head canon I created for him with Elice also helped. His magic wasn't very high compared to other games, but the res stat for this game's enemy units was also incredibly low. FE2: "Zeke." I'm not saying he's Camus with amnesia or anything, but he's totally Camus with amnesia. He's Camus. Nuff said. FE3/12: Nabarl. Nabarl is the character that got me into loving the swordmaster characters. His stats also didn't hurt x) He was so mysterious, and I ended up creating so much head canon for him. (Looking at you, Feena) FE4: Gen 1, so totally Lewyn/Levin. He is my favourite character of all time in Fire Emblem for his wit alone, but his incredible stats don't hurt either. Gen 2: Aless/Ares. He was my second gen game-breaker, along with Ced. Aless/Ares made me realize why we hardly ever get playable characters like Camus: it would be way too easy in any other game if their stats and growths lived up to their lore. FE5: Mareeta. Mareeta overcomes some of the worst things, including a cursed sword that eventually becomes her personal weapon of world domination. FE6: Karel, because of his character development from the following game. That, and he's the only character guaranteed to get a perfect level up, to my knowledge. FE6 didn't really have a lot of great characters for me, personally. FE7: Hector! Hector is tied with Ephraim for my favourite lord, and Hector was such a change for me on the average lord. I don't always agree with Hector's rash decisions, but the way he, Lyn, and Eliwood contrasted was really cool to see. FE8: This one was one of the harder ones to pick, because there wasn't a single character that I disliked. Unfortunately, I have to make a call on it. Joshua's personality was awesome, Gilliam was a hard-hitting tank, Franz was a mobile tank, Ross had absurd strength, and Ewan grew into a beast from great growths. However, Ephraim capitalized on all of this to some degree, which is why I'm going to choose him, even though I have so many other favourites. FE9: Soren. All hail the rightful King of Daein! Soren is pretty much a carbon copy of my best friend, and he's a wind mage to boot (See a pattern?). Soren has been one of my best units on each of my FE9 playthroughs, so I can't imagine the game without that moody mage. FE10: Radiant Dawn didn't have very much character development, unless they were some of the main cast of the previous game or this one. All of the other units get about two lines of dialogue (No real support). However, I'm going to choose Prince Pelleas. Pelleas sacrifices everything for his people on the first RD playthrough. Even though he wasn't royal blood, he showed the resolve of a true ruler. FE13: Awakening had a lot of characters that I really liked, but some stood out above them all. My favourite from gen 1 is Tharja with Henry and Lon'qu tied for second. Tharja was a beastly unit with an awesome personality, and Noire is incredible when Lon'qu is her dad. My gen 2 pick is Severa. Even though Gerome is Batman and Noire is hilarious, Severa was a beast on my playthrough. I paired Cordelia with Gregor, so her stats were awesome, but I also liked how her drive came from a passion to get out of her parent's shadow. I could totally empathize with the feeling of not living up to a parent, so Severa became one of the characters that I could relate to. You guys don't have to give an explanation (it took me a LONG time to type all of that), but I think that it really helped me solidify my choices. It actually made me change my mind a couple times once I started typing, too.
  15. 16. I had this idea when I was walking over to the library. Since there are many drafts of various FE games, why not have a conpetition of just one Touhou game? It'd be fun to handle, and since it's my favorite Touhou game, fun for me to observe. Without further ado: Rules: 1. This competition will be solely in UFO, and the participants taking part in the draft are to showcase their skills in said game. 2. Participants are to use every shot-type in the following order: ReimuA, ReimuB, MarisaA, MarisaB, SanaeA, SanaeB. There will be a round for every shot-type that will last one week. 3. You may choose any difficulty you like: Easy, Normal, Hard, Lunatic. It's meant to be for fun! 4. Clearing the game gives you three points. First place gets five points, second place gets three points, third place gets one point, and last plac gets no points. 5. Going through the Extra Stage will net you five bonus points. ReimuA Results ReimuB Results MarisaA Results MarisaB Results SanaeA Results SanaeB Results Final Ranking: 1st: Proto: 40 2nd: Balcerzak: 39 3rd: Fera: 26 4th: Zak: 3
  17. This is a game where you 'insult people' (jokingly). For example if someone had the usernames RoyMasterLord (I don't hate Roy), you could say that 'Roy promotes too late'. The point of this game is stupidity 'insult' about anything that is NOT too wrong. Insult me to begin!
  18. I decided to do a Monster-party playthrough of FFL2 (note this has nothing to do with that NES game that has the cool Prototype that nobody's allowed to play) because bored and why not. Apparently a party full of monsters is a bad idea, which is why I figure it'll be fun. The only downside is that I'll only be able to beef up half of my party to max level, but on the upside I don't have to give a crap about equipment and can easily sell everything for healing items. The HARDEST part of this challenge, however, is the screenshots, because the text constantly scrolls by itself at a moderately fast pace, so I end up missing shit A LOT. Ugh... Right, let's GO! Exposition! And we meet our hero, Sasha, the Baby-D. The "D" most likely stands for "dragon" but she looks more like some kind of snake, so I dunno. The game starts off with Sasha's dad waking her up. "Damnit Dad, you know how hard it is for me to fall asleep!" So as it turns out, Sasha's deadbeat dad is running away from home because deadbeat dad. Except he's not THAT deadbeat because he gives us OPrism. IT'S PRETTY BUT I NEED MY DAD MORE THAN THIS PIECE OF BUTT! ;n; "He's not coming home is he... ;n;" Silly Sasha, your dad went through the ROOF, not the window. Sprite layers betrayed him! This is how long it took me to get this started because of how often I had to restart to get a good screenshot. Also notice how Sasha's mother is a human. After trying to figure out how two humans can give birth to a dragon/snake thing, I let the text scroll more. "You're leaving me just like my husband did... *sniff*" Except actually, Sasha's mother is understanding about it, telling Sasha to go ahead despite Sasha second-guessing whether she should leave her mother all alone. Except "Damnit Mom, the whole point of going on an adventure like this is to NOT have to go to school." Then after a needlessly flashy transition I get told stuff I already know. Sasha is displeased with the fact that her teacher has engrish. PROTIP: The "S" in Mr.S stands for Schoolteacher. Maybe. He then goes on to tell me more stuff about the MAGI (caps lock is important) mentioned at the start and how they're being able to form a statue of a goddess that becomes an actual goddess if I find them all. Also said Goddess is hot which explains why Sasha's dad runned away to find all the MAGI but then raises the question why he gave Sasha part of said goddess. He also tells me OPrism is able to tell me how many MAGI are left in the current world. Sadly it doesn't tell me WHERE in the current world they are, so it's almost not useful. Then after "Good, I hate you!" Except really THEY WANNA JOIN TOOOOOO. Crap I gotta name them? I'm taking a slime an Imp and another Baby-D. What will I name them? Find out next time! You know, if I don't forget about this like everyone else does with their PTs.
  19. Riolu is one of my favorite pokemons (and it's evolution too) however, i don't have it registered in my pokedex so i can't get one by trading (but tbh i hate trading, especially when we talk about this kind of pokemons) Digging a little more in the pokemon wiki, i've found a way to get a riolu, i have to go to the safari zone and place certain objects in the meadow zone but the problem is : I HAVE TO WAIT 70 DAYS, idk about you guys but i don't want to wait that much, searching a little more in the wiki and youtube i found that you don't have to wait 70 days, in a video in youtube about how to catch a riolu, on the comment sections, some people stated that they didn't wait that horrible amount of time, in fact they said that they just waited one day.... the question is: do you guys know what do to get riolu in a lesser period of time? (sorry if i have some grammar errors)
  20. It is like Pokemon guys. You start game with picking up your overworld avatar and your starting monster. Then you can move on the map with using arrow keys or w,a,s,d keys. Then follow the markings on the map to navigate between maps. Also on the grass areas you can find wild monsters to battle. While battling reduce their hp and throw monster boxes to catch. You can have up to 6 monsters in your team and the future ones will be sent to your storage. Here few links for more details the game url : http://www.monstermmorpg.com/ the game register url : http://www.monstermmorpg.com/Register short tutorial : http://www.monstermmorpg.com/How-To-Play extended tutorial video : cons and pros cons : laggy movement, bad ui, the site interface need revamp, not complete yet, no music, very little graphical effects, it is very confusing at the beginning, no in game tutorial (step the step ones that is common in nowadays) pros : very detailed game mechanics, cheat free (yes extreme precautions), 1801 unique monsters (some of them bad and some of them are very good quality), 520 maps (massive area to explore well defined), pvp battles, trade/buy/sell Here few of the new monsters they added/updated
  21. Because we need a fandom thread that doesn't degrade into claim-based arguments.
  22. I was going to make this thread earlier, but Hearthstone was in closed beta. However, as of this posting, the game is now in open beta! This thread is for all discussions Hearthstone. Have an awesome deck you want to share? Want to talk strategics? Want to complain about an OP class? You can do all that and more here!
  23. I've recently found a love for film and game music, and was wondering what games everyone thought had particularly exceptional soundtracks.
  24. Shantae is a nice old platformer game developed by WayForward, the same who've created Mighty Switch Force, Ducktales Remastered, the Adventure Time game for DS/3DS, Contra 4 and a few other good games, it's published by Capcom. Released Titles Shantae, it's first release was on the Gameboy Colour back in 2002, it's old, but not that old, the game became an obscure gem due to its release coming a year after that of the Game Boy Advance, however it did show support as playing the game with a GBA adds "enhancements" to the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b5W754z02Q Shantae: Risky's Revenge is the second game in the series, the game released on the Nintendo DSi's DSiWare shop (also part of the Nintendo eShop and on Steam Greenlight) in 2010/11 (depending) a whole 8/9 years after the original, now I'll be honest, I have still yet to play this one, so I'll just leave a review here. Besides the two games above that have been released, we also have 2 other games coming soon titled Shantae and the Pirate's Curse coming on the 3DS eShop this fall, and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero which is going to be a multi-platform title, which is currently running a kickstarter here. I would be super glad if you would donate to the Kickstarter if you are interested, not because I asked. If you ask me it was an unfortunate time to start the kickstarter as it's being overshadowed by not-megaman. (Half)Genies! Pirates! Zombies! Monkeys! how many other games do you know that have these in?
