I’m thinking about replaying Birthright on Lunatic mode. My class will be samurai, and I’m considering S supporting either Takumi or Kaze this run. My bane will be magic, but I don’t know whether to choose my boon as +STR or +SPD. I was considering a +SKL boon as well for proc crit esteem, but I’m more so focused on a physically offensive unit this round (though I know Midori benefits from a luck and strength growth and Kiragi benefits from speed in my favor). Which boon (strength or speed) would be more optimal in my case?

I never even got Deen, because he is the worst between him and Sonya, in order to get Sonya I had to give up on Deen, so with Jesse, Saber, and Kamui, which classes should they be once they become villagers?

I was thinking if Kamui is related to the people of Chon'sin like Say'ri and especially Yen'fay because of their squinty eyes. Kamui is a Japanese name and the Chon'sin are based on the Japanese. Chon'sin is in Valm but I dunno where to be exact but let's say it's somewhere Kamui had disappeared in Valm (unclear if he's in Valentia or elsewhere) and settle down for some kind of desire because maybe he got tired of the good life in the kingdom that Jesse had made in Greith's territory. He might have wanted to do something for his hometown or his family. Kamui isn't the only one of his kind so it can be that Chon'sin became a country of its own that was from the hometown of Kamui and his family or the other tribe that beated his family out in the business were related to Chon'sin. If Jesse was dead, Kamui would have taken over in his place so it can be possibly located there. The place for deceased bodies of legendary swordsmen are found in Chon'sin called the Warrior's Tomb which is located by the Thieves Shrine in Gaiden. These guys are the founders of Chon'sin and Jesse, Saber, and Kamui are Mercenaries/Swordsmen and Jeese's kingdom is for Mercenaries but it's hard to make connections when Gaiden and Awakening takes place 2000 years later so when Chon'sin became a country is unclear. The small things like this or how Walhart is similar to Rudolf in what he did for the greater good, how you're able to go to Faria Port(aka Port Ferox) in Echoes and Thabest Labyrinth is between Arena Ferox makes the world feel much richer in history.

I am creating a sand box page that focuses on today's (different time period in North America) April Fools content that was shown in the Japanese website of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. I think bringing up Micaiah to the Robin vs. Kamui poll is going to cause some topic derail, so if we want to continue to discuss this topic we should do it somewhere else. So, I'm of the opinion that Micaiah is superior to Kamui by a long shot. Both Micaiah and Nohr!Kamui are kind of unique amongst FE protagonists in that they side with the "morally wrong" side. So how do Micaiah and Kamui stack up in their choices? Micaiah has more of a reason to pick Daein, for starters, because no one on Daein actively tried to kill her and during the period following the Mad King's War, she actually grew to love the people of Daein and their kindness in the face of adversity. Kamui's reasons for picking Nohr are … well, their siblings. Which is fair, but there is that sort of minor thing where King Garon your so-called father literally tried to kill you twice by the time chapter 6 rolls around. And Kamui has no plan as to what they're going to do once they get back to Nohr. The narrative treats them differently, too. Micaiah is allowed to do morally questionable things and get called out on it. The game doesn't really see her as a hero or a villain, everything we see is through the actions of the characters in the game. Micaiah knows that history may see her as the villain, but she accepts it because saving Daein is more important to her than how anyone else sees her. [spoiler=RD excerpt]Micaiah: I… I want to save them all. The world is a better place with people like them in it. Sothe: I know how you feel, Micaiah. That’s why we started all this. We’ve always been fighting for them. But this war we’re in… It’s not just. We’re fighting on the wrong side. Micaiah: I know. I don’t want to see anyone die. It’s ironic… I’m killing with no malice, because I don’t want anyone to be killed. I… What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to stand back and let all of Daein perish? Is that the “just” thing to do? Sothe: … Micaiah: If that’s what it takes to be just, then I want nothing to do with justice. I’d rather be hated and feared like Mad King Ashnard. I’d rather the dark god take my soul. I’m going to save my people, Sothe. If the rest of the world paints me as a beast to be reviled and hated, so be it. But Kamui, on the other hand, doesn't really get to morally questionable things and get called out on it. Their (and Aqua's) plan to invade Hoshido (which carries with it a high probability of killing Kamui's Hoshidan siblings and innocent Hoshidans) is akin to doing nothing, and they don't even try to tell the other Nohrian siblings about Garon being a slime monster. But the biggest things that set Kamui and Micaiah apart are 1) the game's narrative and tone regarding them, and 2) the degree of self-centeredness shown by Kamui and Micaiah. Kamui is very self-centered. The entire conflict is about them. Killing Hoshidans who are only defending their country? Oh no, it's all about Kamui and how it's such a mark on their "pure, innocent" soul to have to spill blood and we should pity them. Those Hoshidans who are going to die? They don't matter, outside of what they do to Kamui's conscience. [spoiler=Conquest excerpts]Avatar: ... My happiness is a small price to pay for the good of the whole world. I will continue to fight for Nohr and follow my father's every command. If I must sacrifice my soul and walk the path of evil to end this war, so be it. Even if no one understands why I'm doing this... Even if they grow to hate me… (Conquest 15) Can't find the script for this right now, but in Conquest 24 (Hinoka's chapter), Kamui is just talking about how they have a dream about how after the war (aka after Nohr conquers Hoshido) they want to be able to laugh with their Hoshidan siblings like a family. After one of them may possibly be dead. Without giving a single fuck about how the Hoshidans are probably feeling about them razing their land and betraying them at their lowest point. Nope, all about Kamui. If I looked long enough, I could probably find other examples, but there is a stark contrast in just how Micaiah and Nohr!Kamui act. Micaiah doesn't throw herself a pity party. She made her decision and she stands resolute with no whining, whereas Nohr!Kamui whines before they throw themselves a pity party, saying how this is for the good of the world and this is going to take such a toll on THEIR happiness with no consideration for the people they are invading. And the story even treats them like a hero for it. tl;dr Micaiah is the hero that we needed and deserved in Conquest. Also, please stick to comparing only Nohr!Kamui to Micaiah in this topic. Neither Birthright!Kamui nor Revelations!Kamui are in a similar situation to Micaiah or Nohr!Kamui.

Hey, I wanted to get all of the 3 stories of Fates but i'm not sure about which Boon/Bane could be the best for Corrin.. In Birthrights I wanted to get Master Ninja as second class, I heard that +strength or +speed are the best boon and -luck the best bane. In Conquest I wanted to be a Malig Knight or Dark Knight so I thought that +magic -luck could be the best pair. What do you think could be the best boon/bane for these classes ? (No spoiler please the game is still not released in my country and sorry if my english is bad)

So I'm a bit confused about something. It might be a spoiler, so consider that your warning. Lots of people mention Mikoto's letter to the Hoshidan royal children when Corrin gets an S Support with them as the way we find out they aren't actually related. It's a revelation, a secret finally revealed, and that's how it's treated. ...Except for one thing. In Corrin and Hinoka's B Support, Hinoka says Mikoto tried to talk her out of being a Sky Knight, referring to her as "your mother", as if it were common knowledge that Mikoto is only Corrin's mother. Corrin then says "Oh, she was worried even though you weren't related?", reaffirming the common knowledge point. My question is: was that mentioned at some point in the Birthright story? I don't remember it, yet they treat it as if it were already known. Why'd Nintendo call the Hoshidan siblings your brothers and sisters by blood in the advertising, and then just so casually mention the fact that that isn't true in that support?

Seeing how the game is soon coming out here in the West I'm starting to take notes on things, like who I want to marry and such. I plan on going with Conquest first, and eventually will marry Luna, Marx, Odin, Effie, Flora and Leon. I haven't looked up things like classes, stats and similar things so I would like some thoughts on those pairings, how to use the kids you get, classes for everybody etc.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I recently started playing Fire Emblem Fates and I would like to ask which classes are good for Kamui/Corrin, because I would like to reclass him. I'm playing Hoshido/Lunatic atm, but I would like to know for Nohr as well. Icwas thinking of making him a samurai for Hoshido (so I could use Yato, since i's only for Kamui) and pair him with Kagerou. Is it a good choice? Is Kamui good as a magic class too?

Hello all, I am trying to decide what class I want to choose as my secondary for my Nohr playthrough but I need clarification on how buddy seals work when Kamui uses them. My plan is to pick Ninja for copy-cat so I can pass it down through inheritance. What I am wondering is what would happen if I used a buddy seal on Kaze. His secondary class is Samurai so would I get samurai or nothing? I want to be a Weapon master but I want to pass down ninja. Also, If Kamui marries Azura, does Kanna get ninja, dark prince and peg knight and would Shigure get the same? Anyone know?

Hello! I was curious about a rule within the card game. Is it possible to play both female and male Corrin/Kamui? Or do I always need to pick one or the other?

Hi guys, as the title said, what secondary class should Kamui pick so it can benefit their spouse? As an example, Kinu, Leo/n or Takumi?

So for the third route my avatar's planned skillset is Hoshido, Nohr, Ogre Strike, Roundhouse, and Flamboyant, and I'm planning for Kanna to have four of Dragon Fang, Luna, Lethality, Astra, and Breaking sky, and then Copycat Puppet. The plan is to have kanna make a copy, have her pair up with my avatar, and then go on a criting skill procing spree. Question is, does Nohr have my avatar activate Kanna's skills when he's the support unit or when he's the main unit? I don't fully understand the whole attack and guard stance thing, so any help would be appreciated. Also, does Nohr not just work for pair up, but also if my avatar were to be on an adjacent square to Kanna? Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out a physical class with good speed, defense, and strength. I've decided, when I get the game, to switch from Nohr Prince(ss) to that second class. My options are narrowed down to Oni Savage, Samurai, Fighter, and Mercenary. I'm also wondering if +Str/-Mag works for all or not? I also plan on S-ranking Nyx, since the support is cute. I don't mind if Kanna is weak due to me pairing a physical and a magical unit together. Thank you.

I haven't seen a thread like this and the regular Unit Optimization thread is super long I didn't bother to look for an avatar section of it. Seeing as how there are so many options for the avatar's optimization, I figured it made sense to start a new thread. Now, I'm new to PvP and do not yet own the game so my whole build is hypothetical and could really suck when it comes down to it. I like the male avatar quite a bit but I think having two children, while apparently not as good as it was in Awakening, is just too hard to pass up. I'll play both male and female to make a final call, but Kamui (+Spd/-Mag) (maybe + Skl?) Dark Blood Growth HP 60 Str 60 Mag 25 Skl 55 Spd 65 Lck 60 Def 45 Res 25 Not bad. Dark Blood Max Stats HP 60 Str 32 Mag 28 Skl 30 Spd 35 Lck 29 Def 29 Res 30 Also not bad. Not sure if I'd end in this class or not, but definitely a sword wielding class. Galeforce Aether Copycat Puppet Hoshido (for Aether, admittedly not the best skill choice but idk what else to do, maybe Dragon Fang or Draconic Curse) Swordfaire Most likely marrying Femui to Zero and Mamui to Camilla. Let me know what you think, suggestions, criticisms, your own builds, anything.

I guess this is kind've similar to a "What's your favorite class?" type of question, but I'm sure some have other reasons as to why they would make Kamui a certain class, like gameplay reasons, what they feel fits into the story, and so on. So yay, another topic with fanfiction discussion! For starters, there will be unbridled spoilers here. Like many others, I expected Fates to have a theme of family, but I was very, very dissapointed after knowing that Kamui can S-rank siblings and the rest of the conversation would (and did) become so generic to not alleviate fans of these pairings. And the whole family theme just went down the gutters. While there were alot of problems with Fates's narrative, the botched family theme raged me the most, as I highly value family and family themes. So I just wanted to entertain some ideas of rebuilding Kamui's relationship with his family (immediate and not) that may or may not be put into a fanfiction (will be seriously considered AFTER I have played the English translation of the game) and since feedback in this forums have been so good for other topics (srsly, I am surprised how civilized people are), I decided to put Kamui x (character) ideas and get feedback and additional ideas. Also, my ideas are about a M!Kamui, though you are welcome to discuss with F!Kamui as well. Generally about "my" Kamui is that, when others are loyal to and love them, the feeling is mutual. I believe in two-way loyalty and love. Oh and also, there is only one Kamui, else I can't explore betrayal and loyalty. I am putting in spoiler tag to save space. [spoiler=Common (and non-family ties yet considered family anyways)] - Azura: I am keeping with what the game has, that Kamui and Azura share similar circumstances (have similar experience) and will bond due to that. Despite being put under "family", she is the only one I will have Kamui possibly marry and create a family. - Gunther: Honestly, M!Kamui and Gunther is my favorite support chain (to the point that I refuse to read F!KamuiXGunther to not spoil it) and there is little need to change their father-son relationship, if not possibly explored more. - Jakob: Generally will be about Kamui being the only genuinely kind one in the Nohrian household towards Jakob and defends him, which is reciprocated by Jakob. Jakob is the least different from Felicia in the beginning and is horribly clumsy, yet is chosen by Kamui as his personal retainer anyway. I will probably include the common anime scene (yet which I like anyways) where Jakob cooks for the first time, botches it, but Kamui eats it anyway. - Felicia: Will have a similar relationship like Jakob. In an effort to not rehash with Jakob, Felicia will be in the middle of political play between the Nohrian court and the Ice Tribe village, but Kamui shields her from it. Will include a horse-chasing scene as a backstory and will also tie in with Flora being not as close to Kamui. - Silas: Standard "best bro" story (no need to change honestly). Silas will become the person Kamui trusts the most outside his immediate family and becomes Kamui's second-in-command in his endeveours. - Kaze: I honestly have no idea how to handle this without making it too similar to Silas. [spoiler=Hoshidan family] For starters, I am keeping Kamui not being related to his "blood" siblings but will become a major content in his development. Kamui was lied about his heritage by the Nohrian family and then was lied to AGAIN by the Hoshidan family. How the hell didn't IS adress that? - Mikoto: This is probably the relationship I have the least confident of telling well. For now, it's about Mikoto clearly loving Kamui but Kamui is uncomfortable with the sudden relevation. The hardest part here is portraying a mother's love and I don't want to botch it. Her death is what I will make influence Kamui's decision of siding with Nohr or siding with Hoshido. After her death and on the Hoshido side, she becomes a posthumous character and Kamui will constantly inquire about her from his siblings and her retainers and only then will he truly be saddened by the loss of his mother. - Ryoma: Kamui would initially be uncomfortable with Ryoma but Ryoma's easy-going nature and no lack of adoration for their younger sibling closes the gap. This will be contested however when Kamui's true heritage is revealed. - Hinoka: My big sister is somewhat like Hinoka, a tomboy, she adores me (and I adore her to the point that when others criticize her, I defend her even if they have a point) and she is slightly clingy. Like Kamui in my hypothetical story, I was at first very uncomfortable when first meeting her but her unending (sibling) love for me eventually made me reciprocate her feelings. As such, Kamui x Hinoka here is very personal for me and there will be absolutely no S-ranking. - Takumi: The first relationship I look forward to explore, with a clear basis. Takumi retains hostiliy and suspicion against Kamui and the two's different ideologies and methods will make them often come to clashes, between them and their retainers, and Hinoka has to play the role of mediating. However, because of Takumi's (logical) reaction, Takumi becomes the person Kamui is least uncomfortable with, as both have to build up their relationship of being siblings. I am planning of modelling the two after Sun Wukong and Zhu Baije in "Journey to the West" and have a similar event making the two acknowledge each other (if anybody has read/seen JttW, it's the event after the White Bone Demon defeats Zhu Baije and Baije has to plead for help from Wukong). Afterwards, Takumi will be a staunch supporter of Kamui, moreso than Ryoma and Hinoka. - Sakura: I have nothing else beside mutual adoration and Kamui being fiercely protective of Sakura. [spoiler=Nohrian family] - Garon: There is no lost love between Garon and Kamui and I will move Kamui's need for acknowledgment to Xander instead. Garon will be indirectly abusive to Kamui in the past, which will be why Kamui is so protective of his retainers and family. - Xander: The second relationship that I am unconfident in telling. Xander is basically Kamui's role model and he wants to be everything like his brother. Kamui's idealism is indirectly inherited from Xander but Xander is also loyal to his father (applying Honor Before Reason here). Kamui will be in conflict with Xander in BOTH stories, in Hoshido directly, in Nohr indirectly and the relationship between them is where I place the heaviest weight of the theme 'loyalty'. - Camilla: Camilla's feelings for Kamui... I don't think I need to describe them. Kamui himself is uncomfortable with the undying love (partly because her clinginess makes it hard for him to acquaint with females and he is that age) but Kamui loves Camilla dearly as well (but only as a brother to a sister, nothing else). Whereas Kamui hides his insecurities from Xander and tries to be a big brother to Leo and Elise, Camilla is the only one he can weep openly for. - Leo: The second relationship I look forward to explore. While Xander and Camilla babies Kamui and Kamui himself babies Elise, Kamui and Leo are more on an equal ground. They have mutual respect for each other and they compensate for each other's weaknesses. Whereas Kamui is soft-hearted, Leo takes the role of taking cold-blooded decisions. However, when Kamui himself starts being pragmatic, Leo will instead advocate leniency, to keep a balance with his brother. The Kamui-Leo relationship is directly transferred from the Chrom-Robin relationship from my scrapped Awakening fic and the roles suit as well. Leo becomes the sibling Kamui trusts the most. - Elise: Like with Sakura, Kamui adores Elise as well and has trouble saying no to her. Expect him to break the leg of anyone proposing to Elise. That was long. Well, I hope for interesting and useful suggestions.

Just a quick question for those who have used the Lv15 Dark Blood skill. If the avatar/child character who has this skill equipped is partnered with someone with an skill like Astra or Lethality, do they have a chance of triggering it or is it only non-combat skills?
