  1. I never really understood why they kept this hidden. Its very useful information that we'll end up getting anyways.
  2. Which Fire Emblem game would you like to see receive a sequel? Shadow Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem are listed together as the Akaneia Saga, and Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are listed as the Tellius Saga. Personally, I would like to see a Tellius sequel staring Priam. I feel that the descendant of Ike should have more backstory than leading a band of mercenaries that are eventually slaughtered by Chrom's forces. If you vote, please share your ideas!
  3. i can't decide. they're both phenomenal songs. for reference: Space lion Call me Call me
  4. A multiple choice poll. Choose Fighters that you think needs Nerfs or Buffs and why? First off. Buff Ike and Nerf Greninja. Nerf - Next, make Roy's sour spot a little larger. Nerf - Greninja Buff - Give Marth a grab combo. Just a little. Buff - Mii Sword Fighter just needs one. Nerf - Sanic just needs to stop being so boring. Buff - Samus needs better ground game and projectile game. Buff - Ike Nerf - Luigi's grab game... juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a little. A tad. You get the point.
  5. As it says in the title, this poll aims to discover what the community's favorite class in Fire Emblem: Fates. My Votes Are:- -Hoshido: Holy Lancer, Golden-Kite Warrior, Nine-Tailed Fox -Nohr: Cavalier, Revenant Knight, Strategist -DLC: Witch (design looks really cool!)
  6. Basically which games do you think had the best and worst localizations? Personally I think Sacred Stones did. It's prose was good, the writing was solid, the translation was faithful and had some wit to it, and the gameplay tinkering was very minor and inoffensive. It goes under the radar in terms of good localizations but I think it's because it's so natural it makes you forget it was localized. Radiant Dawn had the worst imo. For starters, there's the debacle with the difficulty names. There's also the choice they made to use only the smaller script and not the larger one already in the game, which cut out a sizeable chunk of characterization, motivations, explanations, and world building. The script's translation itself was fairly good though. It probably got the most gameplay changes out of all the localized titles too. Some of them are for the better, like Edward and Leonardo's better bases and giving them plus Nolan their own prf weapons while others like the forging system are a mixed bag (and makes one of the base convos really odd since it references mechanics that no longer exist). It's a lot easier to get DB units up to par now since they can get their forges pretty early but it also allows for mass production of stuff like forged Hand Axes, which is absurd. Awakening is probably second worst in terms of changes to the script and the tone. Characterization is often exaggerated or even completely different from the original and rarely is it for the better. There's some good lines though.
  7. The Fire Emblem series had an anime a while back like in 1997. It was based off of Mystery of the Emblem and wasn't very popular, having only two episodes in the English dub. I think it would be amazing if they made a Fire Emblem anime in the style they do the cutscenes in the games. This one would probably be a lot more successful than the past one in my opinion. I can see how Nintendo would want to avoid that thinking that it would be the same failure as the 1997 one. Fire Emblem is the perfect series for an anime I think, it already has amazing cutscenes so just make a lot more of those and form it into a story and bam, theres your Fire Emblem anime. I would also prefer more than 2 episodes this time and an actual decent story, but I'll take about anything xD. So would you like to see a new Fire Emblem anime in the future? What are some of your ideas for a story for it?
  8. Basically the topic title. Also I jsut put spoilers for those who don't wan to be spoiled on classes and such.
  9. I didn't include husbands who I've already married or don't like very much. Also, if it's Owain or Brady, I would appreciate it if you could comment who you think the father should be. MODEDIT: yo don't doublepost
  10. Please limit your choices to 3 PER QUESTION To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed that same-sex options are only available for Zero and Shara... [i want Nishiki x Flannel]
  11. I'm curious to know how everyone will play their game on their very first run, so feel free to share your choice and reasons. For me it would be: Hoshido Hard/Classic No Reset Little to no grinding (but I will be messing around with Hoshido My Castle). I always play a new Fire Emblem game this way because it reminds me of playing the series for the very first time as a kid and I wanna see how much I've improved as an Fire Emblem player in general by thinking of strategies on the fly and dealing with the consequences of having a character die without making the game unbeatable (i.e Fredrick dying in lunatic during the first few chapters of Awakening). But if Orochi, Orobo or Pieri die... so help me god I will jump out of a freaking window. EDIT: Now Hoshido or Nohr is an option in the poll.
  12. Punny title intended. I'm not sorry. I'd like to know what the general consensus is among those here on Serenes Forest regarding this issue. Regarding the poll, I have not included an "Undecided Option" as it serves little purpose for a question like this. You're either fine with the inclusion or against it. If you're fine with it, please vote yes, If you are not, please vote no. For clarification, the generally agreed on implementation of LGBT characters in if would be the following:
  13. After going through several Lunatic playthroughs and recently completing my second Lunatic+ playthrough, I have found that Lunatic offers a much more enjoyable, less frustrating and less RNG-based experience than Lunatic+. With Lunatic, I did not find myself having to reset a map just to roll favorable enemy skills and minimize the amount of Luna+/Hawkeye/dreaded Counter. Seriously, COUNTER. That skill alone counts for over half my frustration when playing Lunatic+. If the enemy has too many units with Counter, it's gg before you're even out of the preparation phase (at least early on before Second Seals become available). Chapter 3 took a ton of resets because of the emergence of counter before the ability to renown a second seal/use spotpass shops. But it doesn't even match up to Chapter 2, which I think wins the most frustrating level to play in the whole game. On Lunatic it just requires smart positioning and maybe a bit of RNG, but on Lunatic+ you'll be constantly rebooting the map to find a matchup you could possibly win - and even then it takes a whole lot of RNG to survive the first wave without casualties. The design for Lunatic+ is inherently flawed - broken skill distribution makes for an experience which is not very fun and requires unsatisfying tactics/gimmicks to use. If you're like me, the first 11 or so chapters of Lunatic+ will find you either abusing a Nosferatu-wielding MU paired with Chrom to scape by or DLC/spotpass abuse so that the game is more grinding then it is actual gameplay - and both of these are not very rewarding. Once you get to the Valm arc, the "rescue train" gimmick becomes available - simply rescuing a chain of units to bypass the whole opponent and one-shot the boss in one turn before the other units can react. And the only viable units in Lunatic+ are Mire-bombers, Vantage/Vengeance + Nosferatu sorcs and bow wielders (Sniper, Bow Knight, Assassin, etc.) - attempting to use other units in the harsh environment that is Lunatic+ will only end in frustration and soft resets. Because of the almost guaranteed presence of Counter on at least a few enemy units, classes that can attack from 1 or 1-2 ranges get rekt on the enemy phase - the enemy will just suicide onto you and have you die via Counter. Thus there becomes a stagnation in class variation - only classes who have enough self-heal to survive the enemy phase or units who cannot attack adjacent enemies have a chance of being used in Lunatic+. Falcon Knights (or any staff wielder, really - falco knights work the best) and Dancers may see use in gimmicky, <2 turn set ups - but even then, you'll still be relying on the reliability of Nosfertanks and bow-wielders. The game becomes an exploitation of win conditions/unsatisfying tactics/map rerolls. Of course, you could use the same tactics in Lunatic, but the design of Lunatic allows for flexibility in your choices - Lunatic+ basically forces you to adapt these tactics or be really, REALLY persistent in your approach. After that first horrifyingly brutal playthrough (I allowed myself spotpass/DLC in my next one because I was just done with the game) I have gone back to Lunatic, and I don't regret it one bit. Of course, this is just my opinion and analysis of my experience with Lunatic+, you may think of it differently. What are your opinions on Lunatic+? EDIT: Keep in mind that I have nowhere near the expertise of some other forumers and that my relatively small amount of playthroughs may affect my perceptions on the state of Lunatic+. Feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt.
  14. Now I have had an idea, I may actually have the time for in a few weeks. You know how in FE7 when you make your tactician and you pick your birth month it decides your affinity? Well my affinity is , so the rules of the playthrough(s) will be as such. I can ONLY use characters of the wind affinity in the game I play along with the MAIN Lord (such as if I played Sacred Stones I could use Eirika but if I went on Eprhaims route I could no longer use her since she isn't the MAIN lord anymore) For a quick guide as to what WIND characters are in the 3 GBA games. I shall give you the lists. FE6: Bors, Ellen, Shanna, Sue, Treck, Oujay, Garret, Hugh FE7: Lyn, Sain, Wil, Matthew, Priscilla, Fiora, Hawkeye FE8: Joshua, Forde, Tana, Saleh, Myrrh I'm kinda leaning fe8 but thats due to possible hilarity of small amounts of units.
  15. How do you feel about Easter Eggs in video games? For me personally, they are sort of a wild card. An Easter Egg that is successfully pulled off can make me enjoy a game significantly more, but a badly implemented one can ruin the entire experience for me. A good Easter Egg for me is: Relevant/appropriate to the game/series/developer. Subtle. Possible to be missed. Not a meme. The "relevant/appropriate" qualifier is the one that varies the most from game to game. A game about Batman, for example, should contain tons of references to Batman characters, gadgets, locations, and lore in the game. A game like Skyrim should not have any references to Batman at all. I also enjoy when games reference previous games in the series or other series developed by the same developers. Some examples of Easter Eggs I like: Easter Eggs I do not like:
  16. Yes, Casual Was AWESOME EDIT: there are 5 invisible votes which were 3 yes and 2 no
  17. Murabito is the japanese name for villager. I'm going to use the stoned looking one which is the inspiration for the name snoop dogg. ;/ Edit: not calling it dongs ;/
  18. what kind of choices do you think will be in fire emblem if?
  19. So, let's speculate on when Nintendo and Intelligent Systems will tell us more about Fire Emblem:if. Personally, I think that we will next hear before E3 in a Nintendo direct. I think that we will hear information about: Characters- We will be introduced to other characters that appear in the game, and we will find out more about the characters shown in the Nintendo direct trailer. Story- The name of the world(s) where the story is set. Maybe we will be shown more plot important characters and cutscenes that reveal more of the plot. Music- We might get to listen to more of the Game's music. :) So, what do you guys think? (PS- I made this topic as I have seen that everyone was speculating on if's content and I decided that I wanted to speculate in a different way...)
  20. Let's forget about likely couples and examine likely siblings for a minute. Out of the all the future children, who is most likely to be Morgan's brother or sister? Let's assume that both generic and unique supports happen for Morgan. Also, disregard official hair colors. That way Kjelle and Noire don't get an unfair advantage. Ironically, I kinda have to nominate Noire. Not only because she and Morgan play off of each other really well, but also they have similar talents. They both have martial and magic skills, plus they share this odd talent for making crafts. Noire makes a series of talismans for herself, while Morgan made a entire box of masks during her support with Gerome.
  21. I want to know if anyone else is trying. I'm not bothering to get the individual parent/child supports because they're all repeats with very slight changes in how things are worded. Sadly, I'm at a point where it seems as though all the girls need to support with the same few guys (namely Libra, Ricken, and Henry). I'm just about to finish with Lissa and Cherche though, and another playthrough will finish off Olivia and Tharja.
  22. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. I know the completion rate of tag teams has faltered and the fact I messed up my FF6 lp but this time will be different. In december I will be getting a laptop for job corps for personal use. SO I figured I should play through an Fe for you guys. Its time for you to voote. Whatever FE I am playing will be on the difficulty I am most comforable with. Although if you REALLY want me to go beyond that add a (difficulty) to your vote. Well shoot, the poll function hates my phone so I guess I gotta put the choices here. Fe2 Fe3 Both Books Fe4 vote Kids or Subs if you pick this Fe5 Fe6 HM Fe7 HHM Fe8 HM Fe9 HM no flight Fe10 NM but can do HM just been awhile Fe11 H3 Fe12 H2 Cant screen cap FE13 :(. Now if you would like a stipulation like Ironman or something feel free to include that in your manual vote.. Sorry again for that its just my phone said eff you to the poll option..
  23. For those who have beaten the game or those currently collecting the gym badges, which gym leader have you been enamored by? My vote is with Valerie, the Fairy Type Gym Leader. I love her design as well as her gym. She is just so adorable!
