  1. Didn't see a topic yet so here we are~ Here's the clear though~ Featuring one of my favorite builds, the TANKLISE! Wasn't really an easy way to approach this map without getting blown back so with some stat stacking, we just decide to unleash HS!Elise's inner wall~
  2. I am about to complete chapter 5. (I say about to because I was attacking the boss when my console committed die.) My console is fixed now, and I know there's some side-chapter thing called 5x. Is there some kind of item I have to acquire, or any other things that are necessary to unlock 5x? I'm not really sure. Again, I am a first time player, so if it's not a good idea for a first time player to try to do 5x, I probably shouldn't do it. On a side note, I'm really incenced about my console dying in the middle of a chapter, mostly because It was nearly impossible to recruit Joshua. (It took me about 25 minutes to figure out how not to kill Joshua or have Joshua kill Natasha.) If I have to restart the chapter, is there any tips on how to easily recruit Joshua? Because, if not, I'm going to have to say "Josh darn it!" (Sorry.)
  3. The sacred stones is going to be the first FE game I play, (Not counting Heroes, but I don't think it counts...) and I know there is a point where I have to choose between going with Ephraim or Eirika. Any suggestions for route choice? (I am playing normal mode.) So far, I have only almost killed one of my units, (Neimi) because I kept on attacking walls instead of bandits. She only survived via save-states, so... My skill level isn't that high. I have also been avoiding using Seth, mostly because I heard that this game is easy and Seth is essentially able to solo the game while updating his instagram feed.
  4. Heya! Using FE8/FEBuilderGBA So I'm pretty sure I fixed this before, but it may have become un-fixed? Regardless, in chapter 6 I have just "Eirika" deployed at the start, and another unit rejoins at turn 7. When you open up the unit info menu and scroll through your units the new unit isn't shown up (unless you select him first, then he disappears when you scroll), and if you move "Eirika" first it skips to end phase without letting you use the other unit. It's kind of a pre-existing problem that I've been able to avoid until now. I've only been able to have player unit reinforcements if they were joining in that chapter, not units already on the roster, or I would find similar issues. Would love to be able to understand why these issues occur and how to fix them in the future, thank you for your time!
  5. Heya, it's my first post in the forums so apologies if I do anything wrong. Basically I would like to get around the issue of the party change from Eirika to Ephraim (in chapter 5x), in that the supply convoy and money are both separate. I have a handful of weapon drops etc, and would like for them to not be stuck in an inaccessible convoy for a while should the players inventory get full. I tried to find this amongst the forums but to no avail. While I'm on the topic, I haven't gotten further than 5x yet, but can I assume there are some common difficulties in the party split later on (when you choose Eirika/Ephraim route) or is it quite simple? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time ~
  6. Hello, hope your day is going okay. I don't know how to start this other than to explain who I am before proposing this idea, so I don't look like a complete idiot. So hi! I'm KingNecro, a veteran fire emblem player. I've been on these forums since about 2015, but I don't exactly post much. I just read other peoples comments and go off of that. But I've been recording videos, playing rom hacks, and trying to make some of my own ever since then. Recently I had my old computer fixed, and I went through my storage and found some old fire emblem files that used to play. From this, I went to my new computer and started diving back deep into the fan-made games, and even playing through Fe6, 7, and 8. I recently finished playing through The Last Promise, and after suffering through the cringy edgelord that is Kelik, I realized that I wanted to make another fully fleshed out game. I don't know about the rest of the community, but I love playing through other people's rom hacks, because it shows off their own ideas, how they can create their own world and gives you a story to just dive deep into. Then I realized that I am literally shit at art and music. Not to mention, I have no idea how to code complex things into the game like voice acting. MarkyJoe's video of FeBuilderGBA taught me a lot about event editing, but that's about it. Then I also realized that there are a lot of really talented people in the community that could really contribute, and if we all worked together, we could make one cool motherf*cking hack. I know what you're thinking. I seem like I'm new because I haven't posted on these forums in god knows how long, and it seems stupid to just pop up out of no where and suggest that random people come together and make a hack. I've realized that. But hell I want it, and I'm sure a lot of other people do too. So why not? So if you're still reading this and haven't clicked off/wrote a comment telling me how much of an idiot I am, hear me out. For a fully fleshed out hack we need: 3 event editors 3 composers for music 2 Map designers 2 portrait designers 2 animation designers 1 Weapon and class designer 2 storyboard writers 1 Support convo writer 1 Title screen artist 1 Skill designer/coordinator Voice actors (The Last promise did it, we can do it better) As many test players as possible I think that if this all comes together, we should make this an Fe8 hack with skills and new animations and things of the sort. I have some ideas for a story that haven't been built up yet, but I don't want it to be just my ideas. That's the fun of making a hack like this, we can put everyone's ideas in it Also, if the hack goes well enough, I'm willing to compensate for the people who really put a lot of work into it. Let me know what you think, give me your feedback, let me know if I forgot anything. Thanks!
  7. Hello everyone! After having lots and lots of fun playing circleseverywhere's self-randomizing FE8, I decided to finally make this run. The rules are simple : 1- Let's have fun - The run must be played on hard mode, with the default settings for a randomization. 2- Time loop rule : no man down - If a unit dies, the run is reset. The seed will be named after the dead unit. 3 - No cheating - If I'm stuck against the Demon King because I have no legendary weapons, that's life. I have to redo the whole run in order to get a chance to get a legendary weapon. However, this case should be extremely rare and if I ever reach the Demon King, I should have a weapon at my disposal. 4 - Playing for fun - I'll try to turtle as less as I could in order to make the run entertaining. That means for example that I shouldn't grind bards/dancers just to make it easier for me. Everything is fair game as long as it's efficient. With that in mind, let's begin! Prologue and Chapter 1 I have no clue if I'll ever be able to finish this, but expect a wild ride.
  8. Hi, Today I came with an idea to balance weapons. I was wondering if anyone would enjoy a FE 8 mod with swords draining hp, 1 range axes ignoring def, and what you would give to lances and bows. The idea is that most sword users aren't very tanky but very fast. If they could drain hp, be they tanky or not, they would be much more usable and wouldn't need access to 1-2 range weapons to be useful. Fast units would drain 2x per fight but take damage if they don't dodge, while slow units would heal back some damage but only once per fight. I intend on balancing the classes and making the ennemies more of what they should be (like in Awakening I guess, they fit much more their roles than in TSS IMHO, especially knights, axemen and mages/dark mages). Maybe I could also give 15 or 20 weight to 1-2 range physical weapons so you only use them situationally (if I give them a speed penalty it would affect more the already slow units than the fast ones, + negative stats tend to bug and show max stat instead so it's the opposite of what I want). I'll try to give like 30 weight to see if it's possible so general Gilliam is as fast as Paladin Franz with a javelin (0-5 spd hoho). Would it be funny to play? Would axes having a real utility make you use axemen? What effects should I give to lances, bows, magic types? It's up to you, make your game from what I suggest and tell me if something would be funnier than what I wrote.
  9. I just thought I would share a video of me talking with unkirb about random shit. If you know the dude, then you know that this is the perfect place for him and his playstyle. Also me I guess since I'm also a shit person.
  10. Hello the 1 person reading this post. A while ago, I decided to try Sacred Stones without using the shop at all. No armory, SS, battle preps, or anything. This run will involve saving as much uses on weapons as possible since I can't buy any and also because rout maps. Also ye there's going to be a lot of rigging, this is just a theoretical run, not an actual run otherwise I would be dead pretty quickly. This is the playlist so far involving an intro of the challenge, and prolouge to chapter 4. P-3 are seperated into 2 videos. One is a slide video based on the details of the chapter on what I do and stuff and the other is gameplay. Neither has audio. 4 is details + gameplay + audio. If you prefer the ones before 4, the one in 4, or both, please let me know so that I can make these types of videos in advantage. The audio ones can only be made in specific days while the 2 video ones can be made anyway. I am currently working on chapter 5, but there's also a thing called irl so I cannot confirm when it will be released.
  11. Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to this forum business so I figured a fun way for me to interact with the community would be to do a draft. I've played through a decent amount of titles on their hardest US difficulty (FE7, 8, 9, 10, 13, and all three Fates), but never tried an LTC type run. I hope by having other people participate in this challenge with me it'll be much more fun. So in short, I hope to have fun doing a draft with the community :). Also when it comes to any specifics, please feel free to correct me. Any help regarding the draft is great. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 4 players. 2. Eirika/Ephraim, Orson, Tethys, and Myrrh are free for all to use. 3. Seth is banned from all use. 4. The game will be played on Hard Mode. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Shops and Armories and dig up items in the desert.2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, and opening Doors or Chests.3. Map shopping is allowed.4. Skirmishes/use of the Tower or Ruins is disallowed. Skirmishes that are blocking your path may be activated and immediately fled from.5. Defend chapters count the last played Player Phase for turns if the timer is waited out.6. Amelia and Ewan may be brought to 10/1 and 10/5 respectively in Tower. All items gained from this must be tossed.7: burning an rn to complete the prologue in 2 turns is something we'll all end up doing anyways. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 2. Seth has a special 8 turn penalty per chapter. Teams: Units Remaining
  12. So I basically thought of something odd. I basically wondered how it'd look if FEGBA classes were the same, but without someone here. Just the mounts. I thought it was a nice idea, so I wondered if anyone thought or can make sprites of the mounts (Anthropomorphic to fit the rider's movements, though) alone? thanks. Oh, and for non-mounted characters, any should work/fitting to future promotions.
  13. I started this a while ago. I just wanted to make this post here for those who haven't seen the first post about this. I will link the first post as I just wanted info on Ephraim's Route so I knew what exactly to do to make it at least make it harder in the right way. The link will also give access to the original version. https://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?/topic/85337-what-makes-ephraims-route-easy-in-fe8-fe8-maniac-mode/ < Link to original post. If you want to see the changes between patch 1.1 and the Original that I have done I will keep it in a spoiler area. There were some chapters I have done on Ephraim's route that are now done. The chapters have not been test yet so they may be changed as needed. If you want to see changes to the characters I will leave them in the spoiler area below.(Info on route split is not in here yet). I plan to finish Ephraim's route before the end of this month but that could change if I can't finish it from other issues that me or anyone else finds. Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones Maniac Mode V1.1.ups I just wanted to put out the new patch real quick with some notes on the changes I have made. Fire Emblem - the Sacred Stones Maniac Mode V1.2.ups The changes are in the spoiler below. Ephraim's Route has been updated to chapter 19 but is not balanced yet as well as Erika's route not being fully balanced yet. I may have more balance changes done fairly soon. Sorry that this was a day late, I am putting this out now since I committed to getting it out. Fire Emblem - the Sacred Stones Maniac Mode V1.3.ups There wasn't many changes besides chapters being changed for maniac up to both endgames now I will be rebalancing the rom from here on. Though I find it odd that if you change Chapter 21x on one side you do it to the other so if anyone manages to beat Erika's route that map will be the exact same.
  14. I have just finished the first version of my Fire Emblem 8 gameplay reversion hack. This patch is meant to be applied to a US ROM. This hack will revert all the gameplay changes that occurred when bringing FE8 to the US (many of which are detailed on this page). A ton of things were changed during localization, but I'll detail some of the more significant changes below. Since there were so many things to change, a few things might have slipped through the cracks, and there may be bugs that I haven't caught yet. If you encounter any bugs or changes I overlooked, post a reply or P.M. me. I used FEBuilder GBA to make this patch. UPDATE 1.1 I've made some updates to the hack. Most of these involve boss A.I.: In chapter 5, Joshua will now attack Natasha if she's in range. In chapter 15, Caellach is no longer on a fort. He will also move to attack if a character is in range. In chapter 19, Riev will now move to attack if a character is in range. In chapter 20, Riev will now only attack an adjacent character (i.e., one he doesn't have to move in order to attack Update 1.2 Enemy weapon drops have been fixed. This should be the last version. Version 1.2 is available here. Previous versions: Version 1.0 Version 1.1 Among the many changes are the following: Weapon stats that were changed in the U.S. version were restored to their originals. Character growth rates were changed back to their Japanese counterparts. (Lyon's now suck. ) Character base stats were changed back to their Japanese counterparts. (Rennac's now suck. ) Enemy levels, level-up bonuses, and just stats in general were changed back to their Japanese counterparts. This is probably what caused the differences in Pablo and Riev's stats in the player's second encounters with them. Also, the monster encounters on the world map mostly have bosses at lower levels than the U.S. version--whether this makes their stats lower I don't know, but they'll probably give less experience. In Chapter 13 Eirika's route, Amelia joins at level 5 rather than level 4. Hard mode bonuses were changed to their Japanese counterparts. This should make the game more challenging... hopefully. Several classes had their stat caps altered in the U.S. version. These were changed to their Japanese equivalents. Many shops, especially some of the later Secret Shops, had inventory (or even just display order) changes in the U.S. version. These were reverted. The Pierce glitch was fixed. (Thanks goes out to Brendor for the assembly hack... whoever he is.) Gorgons used to fly. Now with the aid of hacking, they can take to the air once more! A lot of enemies had their inventories changed in the U.S. version, including several bosses. The U.S. inventories actually make them more challenging in my opinion. In particular, the U.S. version gave Javelins and Hand Axes to a lot of enemies that didn't have them before, gave a lot of Gorgons extra weapons, gave swords and bows to Rangers that previously only had one or the other, and equipped the Demon King with a different starting weapon. However, since these weren't in the original game, the patch gives enemies their original Japanese inventories. Several chapters had more unit deployment slots in the U.S. version. These were taken out. ... And many, many more! Incidentally, here are some things that were not changed: The Rapier and Reginleif still deal effective damage to Mage Knights. This was pretty clearly an oversight, so I decided to leave it as-is. The flickering of the Silencer skill is still purple, not red as in the Japanese version. Since this is a cosmetic change and not a gameplay one, I decided to leave it alone. Also, I can't find where the animation is stored. The text has been unchanged. Any translation/localization errors will still be in the game. So Neimi still knows Cormag somehow, and Garcia arm-wrestles himself. One final thing--Lyon's terrible growths may have been a developer oversight. They're identical to the "generic" growths seen on a lot of enemies, but those enemies typically use their class growths instead. I'm inclined to leave them as-is anyway, though, since he has good bases anyway, and he joins at level 14 in the Creature Campaign. Let me know if you want a version with the better growths. (Or hack the ROM yourself, it's not that hard to change.)
  15. Hello everyone, so I've recently been working on a remake of fe6. Basically fe6 ported to fe8. I'd like to think your opinion about it. This project will include; -Better text -QoF patch (even though I'd love to have more mechanics like a strength and magic split) -Display all weapons patch -more weapons (like Noble Rapier etc.) -Blinking frames for the portraits and recoloured and lastly! -nothing here have some screenshots
  16. Hello, and welcome to Terper's (that's me!) Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Rewrite Project. The name's a placeholder until I can think of a catchy, melodramatic title. Just call it "Rewrite" for short or whatever you'd like. The Sacred Stones is a pretty cool game. It's got monsters and dragons and swords and sorcery and branching promotions which is like, whoa. But I also think the plot is sort of undercooked. Our two main leads are fairly static characters who do not really grow or change. Immediately after her castle is taken, Princess Eirika gives a short speech about how she must not give in to despair, and proceeds to not give in to despair. And that's fine, I guess, but I want to see her deal with the events taking place around her in a more interesting way. I want to see her come to terms with her place in this conflict and grow as a person! And from that budding desire to change a few things about our main characters eventually grew this beautiful* need to change how pretty much the entire plot plays out. So one day I decided: Hey! It would be very productive and not at all a waste of time to rewrite the story of FE8 from almost top to bottom. Behold, some images from the intro: Fascinating. But that is, of course, only working with what is already there, just changing and adding a few words here and there, adding a little bit of emotion. That's boring. So I have also added some entirely new scenes that give further development. Here are some pictures of that, but not too many, because I want you to experience them in the game itself: So let me lay down the law here: This is not a relocalization. By which I mean this is a rewrite. The story and the characters WILL differ from the original author's intent and I apologize if I change things in ways you don't like. I'm sorry. This means that if you encounter any discrepancies between how characters exist in this hack and how they are in the Original/Heroes/Cipher/Japanese Original, well then there should be a reason for it. Hopefully a decently good one. At times I might have rewritten a perfectly fine line for no good reason just because the mood struck me. As of the time that this thread goes up, I have rewritten everything between the Prologue up until the Route Split (spoilers: There will be no route split. A) Because I'm lazy and B) Because it limits the characters' development if our two leads can't be together and interact and talk and grow). I have not rewritten Supports yet. I'm going to. If there are only a few minor issues in this current patch, then I will not update the patch until I am done with Chapter 16. After that will be the final major update with the rest of the story, and then a couple of eventual bug fixes and quality assurance stuff after that. What you should know going into this: If anyone in your party dies, it's game over. Let me repeat that: If Anyone Dies, It's Game Over. This includes enemy units that you can recruit. Killing Joshua in Chapter 5 will cause a Time Paradox. Keep your save states ready. Or the reset button. I'm sorry if you love to Ironman. The story will assume that you have recruited everyone. Please do not go around Joshua and "forget" to recruit him in an attempt to spite me just because I won't let you kill him. Not only would that be very rude, he will still show up in the story, and you will only have yourself to blame for this. Shame on you. You can't play on Easy because I'm using some of those tutorial prompts for new scenes. I have made a few gameplay changes here and there and they are basically untested. Please give feedback on that. Also please give feedback if anything breaks/you encounter some odd glitch. I have never hacked before. This is scary. Some of these gameplay changes are made for story-purposes, some are things I think could be rad. Please also give feedback and share your thoughts on what you think of the story since this is a story-focused hack. I would like that. I try to be woke, so if you find anything unwoke, then please bring it to my attention. English is not my first language and though I think I'm pretty good at it, if you encounter anything weird, well then that's why. If you find any typos or weird sentences, do mention them. Reviews: If this interests you, then rev up your favorite UPS patcher and apply THIS PATCH to your rom. If you don't know how to do this, just google "UPS Patcher". I believe in you. A list of significant enough gameplay changes that they warrant mention: Every single thing in here is subject to change at my whimsy.
  17. It's been 12 years, 10 months, and 11 days since the US release of Sacred Stones, and I still can't find the answer online. So please tell me, does ANYBODY know what kind of hat Joshua wears? Like, seriously. It's a nice hat, and I need to know what kind it is for cosplay reasons.
  18. Getting right to the point, I know that Sacred Stones is the easiest, or at least among the easiest, Fire Emblem game(s) to date. I also know that it's tutorial is locked on the easiest difficulty, so I have two questions I want to ask: Is there any information in the tutorial of Sacred Stones that can't be figured out by playing the other entries? I.E. Is there anything unique to this game that isn't in the other Fire Emblem games that I should know about ahead of time? For reference, I've beaten Awakening on Normal!Classic and Hard!Casual, as well as Shadows of Valentia on Hard!Classic, and I've also started, but haven't finished, the other two GBA Fire Emblem games. Is the Hard difficulty of Sacred Stones a fine place to start, especially playing blind, or would it be a better idea to do a play--through of the game on Normal difficulty first? Thank you ahead of time for your answers.
  19. I got to thinking, what if Sacred Stones's Story went differently? What if instead of Lyon using the Dark Stone, what if it was Vigarde? It's that premise that I was thinking to change Sacred Stones's story, adding some classes, characters, chapters, and many supports. I also was thinking of adding things from other games, like awakenings pair up and children system, both Awakening and Fates paralogue, system, and some other features I still need to think. My question is thoughts, suggestions, and has it been done already? I don't wanna take someone elses idea :/
  20. Hey! Quick question involving the super trainees. I know that you unlock them after beating both routes of the story. If I don't train the trainees during these initial playthroughs, will I be able to promote them to their super trainee classes on these older files, or do I have to start an entirely new file to access them?
  21. So in order to get better at using FEBuilder I have decided to make an FE8 reskin up to the route split (and possibly further if I feel like it) To this end I'll be using this post to document my ideas and brainstorming as I go. I will put question marks (?) next to things that I'm unsure of how to do properly. I fully acknowledge that most people wouldn't be interested in playing this hack but I'm hoping that by developing my skills I'll eventually be able to make a hack that people do want to play :) RED Text has been completed and is in the ROM Eirika is now Lyn with all of her growths, bases, etc. The Rapier is also the Mani Katti. Seth is now the Black Knight and starts with a Light Brand (not sure if I want to make Alondite when Light Brand and Rune Sword exist). All Bows are now 1-3 range Blades are now 1-2 range Split Cavaliers into Sword, Lance, Axe, and Bow Knights a la Tellius Split Knights into Sword, Lance, and Axe Armors Gilliam is now Haar. He also comes with a sleep staff an Axe Cavalier Franz is now Tiki with an unlimited use 1-2 range Dragonstone Vanessa is now an Archer (In tribute to my deceased Lets Play) Moulder is now Boulder and is an Ax Armor Garcia is Ike, and I might make a Ragnell for him Ross is Troubador Mist "Ross and Garcia" are auto recruited to save everyone a headache Neimi and Colm are Mae and Boey respectively Artur and Lute are now Matthew and Leila BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE HAPPY TOGETHER IN AT LEAST ONE GAME. Natasha is now Caeda and joins with a Wing Spear Joshua is Navarre with a hat Orson is now named "Johnny Badguy". No other changes are made to him. Forde is Lucia Kyle is Lowen Ephraim is Elincia, and I will make Amiti or else just give them a brave sword. EDIT: Crisis averted, I had a backup ROM :)
  22. I'm a huge fan of Awakening. Also a huge dan of Sacred Stones's looks and their Wyvern Knight class (kreygasm). I have been looking and studying and thinking and thought it'd be cool to see awakening (with some tweaks and additions) using a hyper modified Sacred Stones. My research shows it'd be a massive ammount of work but hey. Thoughts, suggestions, tips, am i crazy?
  23. My favorites in the Fire Emblem series are. GBA: Elibe Saga. 2 Smash Characters: Telius Saga. 3DS: Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. (Finally playing it, and enjoying it so far.) Spinoff saga: Warriors. Past Titles: Genealogy of the Holy War.
  24. I'm planning on hosting a dance panel at Metrocon (Tampa FL). I have a lot of music already, but some of these songs loop and the actual part that I can use is between 30 seconds and 1 minute. Also I can't use every song that comes my way since music for games isn't always something that can be used for dance. I want to try to use a song from every Fire Emblem, so if anyone knows of songs that I can use that are between 2 and 5 minutes with no looping and not from Blazing Sword, Awakening, Fates, or Echoes (I already have songs from those games I can use) I'd really appreciate the extra ears looking for this.
  25. Lord: Lucina (Awakening.) Paladin: Seth (Sacred Stones.) Great Knight: Fredrick (Awakening.) Sniper: Takumi (Fates.) General: Amelia (Sacred Stones.) Falcon Knight: Florina (Blazing Sword.) Hero: Inigo/Laslow (Awakening/Fates.) Warrior: Garcia (Sacred Stones.) Sage/Onmyoji: Lilina (Binding Blade.) Bishop: Natasha (Sacred Stones.) Assassin: Matthew (Blazing Sword.) Swordmaster: Ryoma (Fates.) Valkyrie/Mage Knight/Strategist: Clarine (Binding Blade.) Bow Knight/Nomadic Trooper: Rath (Blazing Sword.) Berserker: Gonzales (Binding Blade.) Wyvern Lord: Milady (Binding Blade.) Sorcerer/Druid: Henry (Awakening.) Halberdier/Spear Master: Nephinee (Telius Series.) Rouge/Trickster/Adventurer: Sothe (Telius Series.) Dark Knight: Leo (Fates.) Master Ninja: Kaze (Fates.) War Monk/War Cleric: Lissa (Awakening.) Manakete: Tiki (Shadow Dragon/New Mystery of the Emblem/Awakening.) Other Shapeshifters: Tibarn (Telius games.) Decided to shorten it, because it would take up so much time, and probably fill up the whole comment. What are some of your favorites?
